Hello, State Library staff person! Does SLQ have much archival material about queensland queer history? I've got a novel on the backburner involvinglesbian history in rural queensland. It's going to need a much heftier research process than I've done for other projects, and I was thinking SLQ could be a good starting place for it.
Hello!
What an amazing concept for a novel - will it be a nonfiction piece or a fiction piece? I hope you'll be interested in providing a legal deposit copy of it to the library once it's published!
In terms of LGBTQIA+ collections, not only do we have a selection, but we are also always working to increase and broaden our holdings to better reflect the experiences of all Queenslanders.
We have a launch pad for research into our LGBTQIA+ collections right here: LINK
Last year we also introduced a Rainbow Research Fellowship, which is (up to) $20,000 awarded annually and is given to a researcher dedicated to uncovering and sharing LGBTQIA+ stories within our collections. So if you're looking for a way to get that project off the backburner and you'd like to spend some time neck-deep in collections....
Also, as a side note: did you know that Queensland's first premier, Robert Herbert, had a male companion (John Bramston) with whom he lived, combined last names, and named their house this combined last name in testament to their bond?
#sometimes it's difficult to point at historical collections and say things like this one is definitely an LGBTQIA+ collection#But that is because so much of that history has been recorded between the lines#and Queensland has been a hotbed of both anti-LGBT policy and activism especially throughout the middle and latter parts of the 20th centur#there are so many more collections that contain content related to this history#you just have to go looking for it#also#highly recommend taking a look on trove#and perhaps researching the women's land army of World War Two#If you're looking for a Queensland-centric female heavy environment to set a fictional story like this it's ideal#slq#libraries#state library of queensland#library#queensland#from the collections#queensland history#australian history#history#lgbtqia#lgbt history#queer history#Australian queer history#also anon if you'd like access to any collections that aren't digitised you can submit an 'ask us' query to the SLQ website#and a librarian can scan or photograph whatever you're after for you#we're here to help and we so so want to share our collections with you#I know there's a chronology of the earliest known LGBT activism and movements in QLD somewhere in collection 31134#I will pull it out and take a look at it for you today#asks#anon#anon post

The place to go for a bite to eat, for nearly a century
By Jonathan Monfiletto
Representing a local history museum, this blog doesn’t concern itself much with current events. However, right now – literally, in this moment, just two days after the Penn Yan Diner sustained “substantial damage,” in the words of Yates County’s director of emergency services, in the middle of the night – seems to be an appropriate time to be concerned with current events in light of local history.
In the back of my mind, I have had the idea to research the history of the Diner ever since I heard someone describe it as, essentially, the longest continuously-operating restaurant in Penn Yan. Not knowing anything about the Diner – other than that it has really good burgers – I wasn’t sure if that was true; it turns out it likely is true, and the Diner is on track to celebrate its centennial being located in the village. Since 1925, the Diner has been situated on a previously vacant lot next to the Masonic Temple, on south side of East Elm Street between Basin Street and Champlin Avenue.
While the future of the Diner remains uncertain, should the Diner be able to re-open and continue operating, it would mark its 100th anniversary as a community institution next May, shortly before it marks one year since the devastating fire. According to the Penn Yan Democrat of April 10, 1925, Byron and Lena Legters rented the vacant lot east of the Masonic Temple and planned to install a Galion dining car. The diner was “to be placed on a concrete platform so the entrance will be at the street level,” and a concrete block kitchen was to be built below the diner. On May 8, the Democrat reported the Legters, of the Buffalo area, had opened what they called the Penn Yan Dining Car.
The original diner measured 30 feet by 10 feet, 6 inches and could accommodate 15 people; the kitchen underneath measured 10 feet by 16 feet. According to a November 1993 article by Herbert A. Wisbey Jr. in The Crooked Lake Review, this made the diner longer and wider than the typical diner – short for dining car, a stationary building modeled after a railroad car – but it retained the usual trolley-like shape. This included the long counter with stools in the front and the food prepared and served from behind the counter. The Galion Dining Car Company, of Galion, Ohio, built the Penn Yan Dining Car as one of at least 66 manufacturers of such dining cars in the country. However, Wisbey refers to the company as “evidently a short-lived company about which little is known.”
Earl Richardson and company, of Silver Creek, installed the dining car on the site and also built the original kitchen. Richard was the first diner installer in western New York and contributed to the diner building boom of the middle to late 1920s, with at least eight companies formed over the next decade. According to a history of the Diner, people lined East Elm Street in 1925 to watch the dining car travel the trolley tracks and be craned into place.
The Legter family had come from Silver Creek as well, and they apparently returned there just a year after opening the Diner and handed the Diner off to Carroll P. Bond. Bond called the eatery the Bond Dining Car, but after encountering financial difficulties he sold it to a Mrs. Williamson – whose son Douglas King managed it – in 1933. Perhaps connected to the financial issues, under Bond’s tutelage, the Diner suffered a fire in the kitchen that caused $1,000 worth of damage. Next, Odell Jones purchased the Diner in 1938 and during his tenure built a kitchen and dining addition onto the diner. This expansion allowed the Diner to seat 18 people at tables and included a new entrance with a glass-block vestibule. Since that time, the structure of the Diner has remained the same.
Yates County Deputy Sheriff Ralph Legg took over the Diner in 1949, but for whatever reason he couldn’t make a go of it and Jones took control back. In 1955, Jones sold the Diner to John and Inez Quenan, who ran the Diner for the next 25 years. During the Quenans’ tenure, according to a handwritten anecdote in the Yates County History Center’s subject files, Joe Just, who worked at Benson Printing – located in the Masonic Temple next to the Diner – broke the news to the staff and clientele of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The print shop took a coffee break every morning at 10 a.m., and the employees headed to the Diner. Just told John Quenan that Kennedy had been shot, and Quenan thought it was a joke until Just switched the TV station and turned to the news coverage.
In 1980, the Quenans sold the Diner to Lyman Beecher, whom John Quenan had trained. Beecher was known as “Lyman the Pie Man” for his homemade pies that were a signature specialty of the Diner during his time at the helm. In 2010, Beecher sold the Diner to Dean Smith, of Conesus. Smith’s tenure was short-lived; he closed the Diner for equipment renovations and opened for summer hours when the upgrades were completed. In 2012, though, Sean and Carrie Ahearn bought and re-opened the Diner after it had been closed for about six months. Calamity took place when the flash flood that hit Yates County in May 2014 left nine feet of water and six inches of mud in the Diner’s basement. Still, the Diner re-opened just 11 days later.
The community hopes the same can be said for the Diner now under the current owners, Anna Sweet, Nate Salpeter, Alicia Avellaneda, and Cameron Mills, as they contemplate the Diner’s life after another fire. A review of the Penn Yan Diner in The Naples News of December 1940 still rings true today: “The Penn Yan Diner is a popular place for motorists as well as local people as they offer a rapid service in good foods and there is no delay. … The air of the commonplace always makes all feel at home and this makes it a distinctly American institution as there is no atmosphere of formality. The service is courteous as well as rapid. The fact that they offer excellent service and good food brings them business from the outlying districts as people know that no matter what time of day or night they may be out they can always find everything in the food line.”

Ramblings watches Halo
Season 2, Episode 1: Sanctuary (or quem patronum rogaturus)
Have you family Spartan? Have you faith?
In which I try to recall what happened in season 1, our characters are reintroduced (this time with more character), John MasterChief goes to the saddest brothel of all time while he and the show deal with the impossibility of serving two masters.
In 2022, I waded unknown water for my internet best friend @sonofcarnelian who had done the same for me with the likes of Frank Herbert's Dune and Bridgerton season 1 (two properties often paired). Readers of my posts will remember that I have absolutely no experience with Halo, aside from it's place in pop culture.
Therefore, we represented the core audiences they were looking to appeal to in season; big fans and no nothings.
I enjoyed Halo season 1 a great deal, probably because I had no expectations beyond bonding with my friend. Even more surprisingly, I got both of my parents invested in it, and they liked it even more than me. Less surprisingly, both my beloved mutual and my brother, fans of the franchise already, were less impressed.
Due to this, season 2 is in the same position as last season, but this time in reverse. Last season I wrote about how decisions were made to appeal to a wider audience; taking off that helmet, female characters and characters of color introduced (not that I know there are none in the games, I do not, I just know they almost always have them helmets ON), romance, we see JMC’s ass a couple times, human characters in the covenant etc. This season we are telling the established audience of video game fans that yes others are here, but we have not forgotten you. And I can not speak to the effectiveness of this maneuver, that is for my cohort, but I can speak to how they are attempting this balance. So far, the attempt is clumsy, but I have seen it done worse.
The first season began with Kwan as our POV character, a young woman from the planet Madrigal which was about to be overtaken with the Covenant, who are ugly cgi creatures, until she was rescued by John MasterChief and the UNSC took over Madrigal. I think.
Season 2, aside from a cold open, which we'll get to, is this situation inside out. JMC and silver team (who consist of Kai, who has a little crush on JMC, but also got a very suggestive haircut in season 2 so we'll see and the other two who last season Did Not Matter) are on babysitting duty after the dramatic end of last season (they went rogue, John MasterChief had sex, his gf returned to being evil and died, it was a whole thing). We are then introduced to a group of religious people who do not want to leave this planet which is about to be glassed. Glassing is not a thing that happened last season, there was a ground battle on Madrigal, but after conferring with my brother who knows the games, this is much more in the fashion of what usually happens. Here we begin the three pronged status quo change which was deeply jarring to me but we're supposed to believe the show has always been like this:
The Covenant are the main threat: last season was about John MasterChief and his awakening as a full person, realizing that the people he served lied and manipulated him. While the covenant was present; Makee (ex gif) was covenant and they killed people, this was not the driving tension of last season.
Religion: again, the covenant were religious and Kwan had a family tradition, this season has religion as a central piece. Beyond connecting us to Earth (when that one foot soldier said he was a Baptist I was SHOCKED like baptist-baptists? Papist, we let baptist go to space?) I do not yet no the purpose of this, but it is interesting texture.
Secondary characters matter now: Last year the following characters mattered: JMC, Kwan, Halsey, Kai, Miranda, Makee, Soren and that is IT. And aside from those first three, their connections to John MasterChief mattered more than anything about them. Here we have bonding between Kai and Vannak (he has removed his pellet and has been very interested in animal planet, which is nice!) and as we go, our pool of characters continues to grow, as does their connections to each other. Hooray!
When questioned if JMC has family or faith he recommits to his team, both silver team and general ground troops. He goes off to see hey why the fuck are comms out and uh-oh sister, the convenant is here! prowling about, taking out their comms. Already, to me, the fight seems better but as we found out last year I don't know what makes an action scene good. The covenant at least look less uncanny valley. JMC teams up with Perez, the last of her unit, and just as JMC and Perez are overwhelmed and surely doomed, they back away, FOR SHIPPING REASONS MAYBE? because that is my girl Makee in the fog for real let's go Reylos let's go. He's hearing her voice in the shower girls!
We get another shot of JMC half dressed but it is not hot, he is way too ripped and it's like buddy! are you okay. We also saw him like this in the cold open where they ripped out Cortana and both John MasterChief and the audience are feeling her absence. We are also introduced to our new Halsey, His name is Ackerson and he gives Silver team the "I'm not trying to replace your mom" spiel, we can only hope that means he too is fucking Keyes.
Last season, I detailed a lot of ex Spartan Soren, his high camp wife and little son and oof it's not going great for them, and it's really boring. Soren, after being a good guy and helping Kwan, has lost favour with the pirates and ultimately gets super betrayed by his crew and a space cop who he should have clocked immediately because he talks like Samwise Gangee. Also Kwan is at Soren's house now and is scaring his kid in a cave. So that's fun.
Meanwhile Ackerson is trying to gaslight (glasslight? is this anything?) by step-dadding the hell out him with false concerns over his mental health and allusions to his lost gfs (Cortana, Makee and Halsey, who of course is also his mom love that). The party line is that JMC did not see the Covenant and is crazy. Silver team is out of commission and Cobalt team is being sent out like there is nothing going on. This makes JMC naturally very anxious so he GOES TO A DIGITAL BROTHEL TO HANG OUT WITH FAKE CORTANA I LOVE THIS SHOW. Love how the AI is insecure. Love he wears a hoodie. Love that we're giving Reach, and the population of Reach City some color with a Red/Blue light district. Good stuff
Time will tell whether the balancing of two audiences will work; my biggest apprehensions are about the quality of the character writing and balancing our subplots, but tbh? I will forgive all plot holes if they keep giving me high camp.
But what will my cultured friend say? I'm very excited to see!
In the mean time:
#last season for most of it my or title was Beyonce's halo but im running out of lines so I'll attach a song#sonofcarnelian#halo#halo paramount#ramblings watches halo#Spotify#it's still lent but this is different this is WORK#the hunchback of notre dame

Charles Clinton Spaulding, Entrepreneur (1874-1952)
Charles Clinton Spaulding led the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company from 1900 to 1952, a span during which North Carolina Mutual was the largest business owned by African-Americans. Known during his life as "Mr. Negro Business," Spaulding was largely responsible for the success of North Carolina Mutual, a firm that made Durham known as "the Black Wall Street." Born during Reconstruction in Columbus County, North Carolina, Spaulding grew up on the farm owned by his father, Benjamin. During his childhood, Charles rose early every morning and worked during most of his waking hours. Though mainly a farmer, Benjamin was also an entrepreneur, working part-time as a smith and carpenter. Aside from his accomplishments in agriculture and business, Benjamin served as the sheriff of Columbus County. In 1894, Charles Spaulding left the family farm for Durham, where he settled with an uncle and took jobs as a bellhop, dishwasher, and waiter. During his hours off from these menial jobs, Spaulding attended school, earning the equivalent of a modern high-school diploma in 1898. He was then hired as manager of a black-owned cooperative grocery store. After the store's owners became discouraged about its prospects, they sold their interests in the store in 1899, causing it to collapse and leaving Spaulding $300 in debt. Hard work alone would likely have prevented Spaulding's debt from leaving him destitute, but after the grocery store failed, his assiduity was supplemented by a fortuitous circumstance: in 1898, seven black entrepreneurs, including the uncle with whom Spaulding lived, founded the North Carolina Mutual and Provident Association. Each of the seven invested $50 in the new venture. Two of the entrepreneurs—Spaulding's supportive uncle, A. M. Moore, and a prominent Durham barber , John Merrick—noticed Spaulding's managerial gifts while he was head of the grocery store. Because the seven founders of North Carolina Mutual had other successful careers, none of them had time to run the new company, so they hired Spaulding to sell policies. In 1900, they named him general manager. (The title was slightly misleading, for Spaulding was, at the time, the company's only employee.) Building a network of agents across North Carolina, Spaulding quickly expanded North Carolina Mutual's operations. In 1904, the company began selling policies in South Carolina; by 1908, the firm had 100,000 clients. Shrewdly advertising life insurance policies on medical thermometers and spittoons, the company continued to grow during the next decade. In 1919, Merrick died, and the board of North Caorlina Mutual elected Spaulding secretary-treasurer. He used the clout obtained with this new role to restructure the company. That year it was renamed the North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, and soon thereafter, its operations were in thirteen states and the District of Columbia. Though Spaulding had been the company's de facto leader since 1900, he was named president after Moore's death in 1923.
By the the late 1920s, Spaulding had achieved national prominence, earned national business awards, and joined President Herbert Hoover's Federal Relief Committee. Like other insurance companies, North Carolina Mutual suffered a series of setbacks during the Great Depression, but Spaulding restructured the company as needed by trimming expenses and reducing the size of the firm's staff. According to Sylvia Jacobs, in a letter to W.E.B. Du Bois, Spaulding asserted that the Depression would cultivate a generation of superior business managers by forcing them to operate businesses more efficiently. During World War II, Spaulding not only assisted the U.S. Government in selling war bonds to African-Americans but also invested a large percentage of North Carolina Mutual's funds in the bonds. In 1948, Spaulding, by then an American business icon, visited much of Europe; he subsequently wrote, "I shall always feel grateful that my ancestors were transplanted to North America. It is the best place in the world that I have found to live and leave one's mark." Spaulding died in 1952, on his seventy-eighth birthday. His optimism, industry, and thrift influenced a generation of African-American entrepreneurs.
BLACK HISTORY, the way it should be taught.

The Dillingers
Got curious and looked up the surname Dillinger. So... have some thoughts on Ed and his family (NOTE: these apply specifically to my muse as I write him. Maybe they work for Canon!Ed, maybe they don't).
So: Some facts that tie into the edcanons:
David Warner, the actor that plays Edward Dillinger Sr. (Ed's father), was British.
Cilian Murphy, the actor that plays Edward Dillinger Jr., is Irish.
3. According to Wikipedia, the surname Dillinger is Germanic in origin.
John Dillinger was a real crime boss in Chicago during the Great Depression (this ties in... somehow...).
Points one and three imply some sort of immigration trail. The Dillingers were originally German, but by Edward Sr.'s time, they were British. Dillinger Sr. is never given an age, either in the movies or the novelization, but he's older than Alan and Flynn, and David Warner was born in 1941, so we'll assume Dillinger Sr. was born somewhere around that time.
...Guess what major historical event happened around that time that had families fleeing Germany? (This is rhetorical... mostly. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't know what I'm referring to.) That's right folks, the second world war had just ended. The Dillingers could, theoretically, have immigrated from Germany to England at any point, but Mun has a soft spot for immigrants, and thinks this makes for a more interesting story. So. Grandma and Grandpa Dillinger flee Germany during WWII, Perhaps its because of ideological differences with the current regime, perhaps it is because of their religious beliefs, (upon further research, David Warner's father was Russian-Jewish.... While I think it would be interesting for the Dillingers to be Jewish, I am cautious about writing them that was, especially because the type of villain that Dillinger Sr. plays could very quickly slide into anti-Semitic territory if I'm not careful, and I'm not sure I have the background knowledge to write it) there were quite a few reasons to flee Germany in the 1930's. Grandma and Grandpa Dillinger settle in England, where Edward Dillinger Sr. is born. They assimilated into British society, and Edward Sr. grows up in Britain. He gets a degree in computer science and another in business, and eventually gets hired to work for Encom, probably around 1975-7.
Some time after he's emigrated to America, Dillinger Sr. met Shannon McLaughlin, the daughter of two Irish immigrants (headcanon for Ed's mother, inspired from point 2... though considering the history between the Irish and the British... I wonder if this should be revised?). They married and had a son in 1978, Edward Dillinger Jr. Unfortunately things didn't work out (understatement of the the year), and Ed Sr. and Shannon divorced in 1989, and Dillinger Sr. raised Ed by himself.
Mun currently doesn't have anything set in stone story-wise for Ed's mother, but likes to think that she eventually remarried. Perhaps Ed has a younger sibling or two that he never learned about since his father did not allow him to see his mother.
So... How does John Herbert Dillinger come into this? Mun isn't entirely sure, but is hoping that maybe by writing this, they might figure it out. They think it'd be cool if Ed was related by some not-so-distant ancestor.
Doing some brief research, John H. Dillinger is the son of John W. Dillinger, who was a first generation American. His father (John H's grandfather) was born in Germany in 1831, and at some point moved to Indiana. If the fictional Dillingers were in some way related to the real Dillingers, it would have to be through John H's great-grandfather, who was born in 1785.
IDK where I'm going with this, but I think it would be funny if Ed ever ran into the descendants of John H. Dillinger, discover that common ancestor, and bond over criminal family members giving them a bad rap.

Provenance mysteries: The Countesse of Pembrokes Arcadia
The first provenance mystery of 2023 features Sir Philip Sidney’s The Countesse of Pembrokes Arcadia, published in London in 1593. As can be seen here, the title is set within a lavishly decorated woodcut border.
The book was presented to the Library on 30 June 1876 by James Claude Webster (1840-1908), whose bookplate is visible here. In addition to being a member of Middle Temple, he belonged to the Athenaeum Club. As club secretary, he wrote to Robert Browning on 4 February 1862 to admit him as a member. He also contributed articles to the Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Sidney’s Arcadia (to use the shortened title) was published posthumously by his sister Mary Herbert, based on a manuscript version. It was written “in the new genre of prose romance,” and is believed to have been an inspiration for a scene in Shakespeare’s King Lear. Sidney died in battle near the town of Zutphen, and was buried in the old St. Paul’s cathedral in 1587.
The provenance mystery concerns the myriad of names found in this copy of one of the most famous works of early modern English prose. As can be seen here, the front end-leaf was used by a variety of young people to test out their pens. On this end-leaf we can see the following names: Dorothy Greaves; Robert Demetrius; Ann/e Bind; and John Greaves. There is one addition exercise, a four leaf clover, and what could possibly be some shorthand being tested (see under the name Dorothy Greaves). Another name is faintly visible: Tho Hey, and an aborted name: Doro.
There is a well-known John Greaves (1602-1652), a mathematician “who was interested in measuring ancient monuments.” Could our copy of Arcadia be evidence of the childish hand of this John Greaves?
Two further names are visible on the title page: John Grevail/n and Thomas Vincent 1754. The latter could be the oboist and composer Thomas Vincent (c. 1720-1783). Intriguingly, Vincent’s will stated that some of his income was to pass to James Robson, a bookseller in New Bond Street, suggesting a debt of some kind owed to Robson by Vincent.
There is one further provenance piece, at the end of the book – yet another name (possibly) is visible, P Pense [?] with the words ‘must stand to the same’ visible.
As ever, if you have comments or suggestions on this mystery, email us at: [email protected].

"ASKED COP FOR DIME GETS OFF THIS TIME," Toronto Star. January 4, 1934. Page 2. --- Dorothy's Three Names, Three Charges, Make Total 12 Months ---- "Not guilty, pleaded Jennie Roe in women's court to-day, to a charge of vagrancy. "This woman came up and asked me for ten cents," said a police officer. "She has been hanging around a restaurant at York and Adelaide for the past few months."
Accused denied all the evidence. "I have a home that I can go to if you let me go," she said. "All right," said Magistrate Patterson, "we will let you go this time."
12 Months at Mercer Dorothy Preston, alias Hazehurst, alias Hurst, was sentenced to an in- determinate period not to exceed 12 months in the Mercer reformatory on two theft charges and one of aggravated assault.
Don Jail "Pretty Tough" "How did you like it at the Don jail?" Magistrate Patterson asked Alphonsi Buncher, charged with assault and battery. "Pretty tough," was the reply.
"Well, stop beating your wife or it will mean two years in jail." He was bound over to keep the peace for a year.
Mrs. Nellie Dashuk charged that John Mainantch, a roomer in her house, assaulted her.
"Accused knocked a little baby down. Then Mrs. Dashuk's daughter went to help it and in turn was beat up, and the mother of the child went to their help and was struck with a gas pipe," said a witness. "Then I phoned for the police."
The court registered a conviction for common assault, Mainantch to supply a bond of $50 to keep the peace.
Tony Chubak, Mary Chubak and Walter Majuski, charged with assaulting Steve Chalemanick, were ordered to pay Steve's doctor bills.
Hit on Nose With Hammer "I am the organizer of a strike union," said M. L. Bergstein, allegedly assaulted by Herbert Buckland, Sr. "I was in the building at 55 York St., and heard a scream outside where pickets were stationed. I went out and accused hit me on the nose with a hammer." He exhibited a bandaged nose. A policeman produced the hammer, a deadly-looking weapon. He said there were about 40 people in the melee before it ended.
"I was trying to get to work," said Luella Gelson, who got a black eye in the mix-up, "and Buckland and his son were trying to help me."
Buckland was bound in the sum of $50 to keep the peace and he immediately reciprocated by laying a charge of assault against Bergstein.
"Bergstein will sign a bond of $50 to keep the peace to complainant for six months and not to use force in his picketing," ruled the bench.
Doesn't Stop Picketing "She was in the crowd milling around the Buckland family during the strike troubles at 55 York St.," testified a police sergeant, referring to Celia Snyder, charged with vagrancy. "She was making a racket."
Herbert Buckland, Sr., identified Celia as one who had "started the ball rolling."
"She was in the lobby and had nothing to do with the brawl," a picket affirmed. Celia was remanded for sentence and put up a bond of $50 to keep the peace for a year.
Nellie Fistil, Annie Shapiro, Annie Fabish, Fay Pearl and Rose Baker had allegedly been screaming, shouting and singing. They received the same sentence.
"Does that mean they can't picket any more?" asked the defence.
"No." replied Magistrate Patterson, "not if they don't do it forcibly."
"I was trying to get to work, and they said, 'You can't go to work today'," said Luella Gibson, who charged that Nellie Fistil assaulted her. Accused grabbed me by the coat and it ripped. Failing to hold me that way, she grabbed me by the hair, pulling a lot of it out. I also lost my hat."
"Accused had better pay $5 to cover Miss Gibson's damages, and she will sign the usual bond," said the magistrate.

Today is my birthday. And for this year, here is something I've been thinking about for quite a long time: A good bunch of my favorite male characters - including those I recently knew or I like but not enough as to fanart, but taking away everyone I've abandoned or just felt like they shouldn't be here - all gathered up in a boxing ring, the majority wounded and weary, but some a bit dirty and confused. Serious and sad faces, a dark story to tell behind their piercing bleary looks but for some, way worse. And of course - the simplycity, cartoonism and bouncyness of my circled neckless heads, bubble eyes and long rectangly trapece bodies. Dedication and pressure to myself cannot be forgotten on this process...as well as telling you this is based off the Whatcha Say meme. And now the copyrights, which tells you the characters, their series, their actors and their rights, starting from the first row. Hope you like it! But first...Artwork (c) @CreativeCuquiLu Peter Venkman - Ghostbusters - Bill Murray (c) Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Paul Atreides - Dune - Kyle Maclachlan (c) Universal Pictures, David Lynch and Frank Herbert James Tiberius Kirk - Star Trek - William Shatner (c) Desilu Productions, CBS Paramount Television and Gene Roddenberry Larry Daley - Night in the Museum - Ben Stiller (c) 20th Century Fox, 1492 Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment Agent K - Men in Black - Tommy Lee Jones (c) Columbia Pictures and Barry Sonnefield Horatio Caine - CSI Miami - David Caruso (c) Anthone E. Henry ‘Chips’ Channon: The Diaries (Vol. 1), 1918-38, entry for 29th May 1923
—
Tuesday 29th May
Dined with Lady Ornamore and Browne.¹ She is supposed to be raving but I thought her and her dinner merely a trifle ‘Pont Street’!² I was between Lady Hermione Herbert³ and Lady Mildred FitzGerald.⁴ . . . . I fled to the Embassy Club⁵ to join Paul of Serbia et alii. He and the P of Wales have been great friends all this spring and telephone constantly. The P’s car is fitted up with an electric automatic cocktail mixer. He and Paul take Mrs Dudley Ward⁶ to dine and dance at the Embassy Club. When she refuses I see him dining sadly at Buck’s Club in a blue dinner jacket with his éminence grise, the irresistible Fruity Metcalfe.⁷ Will he be the Lord Farquhar⁸ of the next reign?
—
1. Olwen Verena Ponsonby (1876-1927), daughter of the 8th Earl of Bessborough, married in 1901 Geoffrey Henry Browne-Guthrie (1861-1927), 3rd Lord Ornamore and Browne and 1st Baron Mereworth.
2. Evelyn Waugh in Brideshead Revisited (1945), uses the term to indicate slightly ‘common’ behaviour by members of the upper classes; Lady Julia Flyte regards it as ‘Pont Street’ to wear a signet ring.
3. Lady Hermione Gwladys Herbert (1900-95), daughter of the 4th Earl of Powis, married in 1924 Roberto Lucchesi-Palli, 11th Duca della Grazia (1897-1979).
4. Lady Mildred Murray (1878-1969), daughter of the 7th Earl of Dunmore, married in 1919 Sir John FitzGerald Bt, MC (1884-1957), 21st Knight of Kerry.
5. Then the most exclusive nightclub in London, in Bond Street, patronised by royalty, the aristocracy and stage stars.
6. Winifred May ‘Freda’ Birkin (1895-1983), married in 1913 William Dudley Ward MP; she was mistress of the Prince of Wales from 1918 until supplanted by Mrs Simpson in 1934.
7. See entry for 14th April 1923 and footnote.
8. Horace Brand Farquhar (1844-1923), financier, had been Master of the Household to Edward VII and Steward of the Household to George V until 1922. For services rendered to both monarchs he was created a baron in 1901, advanced to a viscountcy in 1917 and an earldom in 1922. After his death he was revealed to be bankrupt. Metcalfe might well have performed similar services to Edward VIII as monarch had the King survived more than ten and a half months.

Great Lakes Engineering Works - Wikipedia
The most famous one was the latest one and it lasted 20 years it was not short lived and it was a great lakes engineering works company and Mr prasano he was my granddaddy it's Ken's father and he was a great engineer and knew tons of stuff and he's the star of that 70 show and his name was red and my husband knew him as red. And he's trying to confuse himself with mac and attracted too much attention and you do he really knew too much and got too much stuff done and engineered too much and is now in trouble in the museum now he's down below somewhere dead or alive and the person before that was my husband's great granddaddy and that will see father of George Herbert Walker Bush it's vernier bush and he was the head of the Manhattan project for real and of course he was an idiot and a general groves is an idiot and he's running it. We have taken over this company yeah we're going to it's just sitting there nobody's doing anything with it it's been laying there rusting for about 10 years we need the property of some of the machinery might work most of it is obsolete and broken but we're going to build yachts and some transports my husband says it's true too and I'll see you'll see it's a shipbuilding company and people go nuts for those and that's actually where James Bond who is Trump fights Mr wint and the other gentleman and they both lose one of them dies completely and their clones it's Tommy F and his head clone and Tommy off looks like an idiot cuz he's turned into one I think at that point is half of rain and James Bond buys one and it's Trump and he's still running around. And it's a big one it's over 800 ft likes it and he goes up and down the river and it's very nice too there's a lot of people who want to see that particular s*** and see it built you can look at it it looks a little old school but it works very well it's kind of my design and the interior is his looks old school too but it's nice and it's upscale and it lasts in the Ocean Air and a lot of people impressed it's a very nice ship and it has safeties and it has doors that you close to and it's compartment compartmentalized so it won't sink most of these ships don't have them and when you're underway you close them all. It's a very handy boat or shipped for going up and down that River and they want them now and we do need to talk to some people to purchase it like John remillard he says that's incredible I'm on your boat it's yours you bought it and he's going that's good and so what are you doing it for what usually do okay... So go ahead with it and we'll have to combine the names and it's not very hard but we're going to use the names and not the anachronism and we're going to use the old names and that's what we're going to do because it's an old ship building company and we want the respect we have some old softy dogs up there we want them to do some stuff they want to come down and get to work they said just tell him when and my husband says right now and I'm going to go down there and he will and will meet you I'm going to survey the place it says good we're going to go do that and it's probably nobody there just going to go look around it says this is going to be weird cuz it's old and he worked there they want to see who he is so I'm trying to arrange a meeting to purchase it and he says okay and we will send over a schematic for the yacht it says 1200 ft and that's about right and so see going vessel if you're lucky you can get to Cuba you wouldn't be able to get to Brazil I'll be closing compartments you can get there and he likes that and he's going to go ahead and try and get one if there's a wall it's going to be a little bit tough red mine is always Miami so he's going ahead with it and he's going to look at our offer and we're going to get him some ships and boats and as part of it and he's back to himself soon he's crazy man
Hera
So I guess you're going to have to say welcome aboard because you made most of the ship and I will she says
Zues
I have to tell you these catches on she's very proud of it too and they took over and they put a better motor in and made the sign better and he's a little bit pickier about that kind of thing but vernier was not applying himself but he made a decent design as a base it is a very very nice hold design I'm going to add to it a little but not much and I'm going to make a triple home and metal each layer is about an inch and a half thick it's very sturdy and we do use themes and beams and they're not wooden and they don't rust they're using inhibitor too and when impregnate him and pregnant this is going to be great I love this idea and we're going to make smaller yachts it's a yacht company the one in Brazil is a boat company and the one in China is a boat company this is yacht company and we're going to make Maggie odds too will try and make some people make this they make them in sections and they don't put the beam across the section it's terrible I've never seen anything as stupid as not staggering the beams not to mention not having a continuous one where you can make you can do that these days it's horrible what they're doing a son had an idea once to make a beam it was the center wall of the entire ship and he said you can make the whole thing beef here in the bottom but bring it all the way up in a flange and put stiffeners we did it and it never ever broke or bent they might do that when people who require it and for caring loads and people who want to go on the rough seas it's a special unique design that will offer actually says just make a line and we're going to do that and there's a name for it in the ocean it's not rough riders but it's kind of like that and so we're going to do that what a great idea just to make a line cuz we need that all the time
Thor Freya
This is intense it was an idea but it's been done before he just had it out of his own mind though he thinks it's before now he doesn't remember doing his here though so we get what you're saying it came from Thor and Freya and it is their idea
