Battlestar Galactica will be released on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray on July 11 via Universal. The 1978 film is a re-edited version of the sci-fi TV series’ pilot episode.

Richard A. Colla directs from a script by Battlestar Galactica creator Glen A. Larson. Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, and Lorne Greene star. John Dykstra (Star Wars, Spider-Man) supervised the special effects.

Battlestar Galactica is presented in 4K with HDR and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.1 Sensurround sound. No special features are included.

In the deepest reaches of space, it is a fight to save all human life from extinction in this sci-fi adventure that launched the Battlestar Galactica phenomenon! It's crazy how Space:1999 aired two years before Battlestar Galactica and almost never reused effects shots.

Granted, BSG didn't have the luxury of being near Pinewood Studios and part of the settlement with George Lucas was that John Dykstra had to stop helping them with special effects, so they were kinda stuck with the ones already shot for the pilot.

On the other hand, California feels a lot more appropriate for alien planets than England.

Alana: Clear-headed; she's definitely someone you want at your side when things start to panic. My anxiety gets in the way, she's much more poised. Not to say she doesn't get nervous - she does - but she's still better at taking charge of that and diffusing things, I feel.

Bethany Josnel: Self-assured; at least in the sense that he knows what he wants and isn't one to allow himself to be pressured. I think he's good with his boundaries, is what it is. I am not lmao.

Hiyam: Confidence! Hiyam's is at a level that one might dismiss as delusional but it's just a matter of strength of will and being unbothered. Two things I do not have lmao. I can be pretty stubborn thho. Maybe i can fake it til I make it ... one day.

Lala; there is SO many. Um, let's say Understanding. I feel Lala is pretty insightful and also open. I try to be. They're so -- I think it's because they have a 'come as you are approach' but also know their own value.
