Alana: Clear-headed; she's definitely someone you want at your side when things start to panic. My anxiety gets in the way, she's much more poised. Not to say she doesn't get nervous - she does - but she's still better at taking charge of that and diffusing things, I feel.

Bethany Josnel: Self-assured; at least in the sense that he knows what he wants and isn't one to allow himself to be pressured. I think he's good with his boundaries, is what it is. I am not lmao.

Hiyam: Confidence! Hiyam's is at a level that one might dismiss as delusional but it's just a matter of strength of will and being unbothered. Two things I do not have lmao. I can be pretty stubborn thho. Maybe i can fake it til I make it ... one day.

Lala; there is SO many. Um, let's say Understanding. I feel Lala is pretty insightful and also open. I try to be. They're so -- I think it's because they have a 'come as you are approach' but also know their own value.

Ori: Cheerful; He is so naturally cheery and kind and even-tempered. I am good at faking some these things lmao. To varying degrees. He's just so sweet, like a golden retriever puppy. While I am more like a cross of an old poodle and a nervous chihuahua.

I'm doing Hiyam because I'm playing a version of her in my friends rp. And I'm eager to develop her into something more [though I feel this will still be rather flat, so sorry.]

Partner: Does your OC currently have a partner? Multiple partners? How did they meet, and what is that relationship like?

At this point in game. No. She has no partners. She has multiple somethings, I feel, but they're not partners. They probably meet at bars and maybe like promo parties? Lowkey ones, before the band made it big. I feel she's probably slept with a groupie or two but it's not something she makes the habit of. Messy business. [And that's too close to Orion seeing/hearing/etc.]

Intimacy: Is your OC the type of person to engage in long-term relationships, or are they more casual in their intimacy and affection? How do they feel about intimacy and relationships in general?

Seen is her longest relationship. I think MAYBE even first. I also don't think she thought it would be that long -- and in truth it probably would still be going if not for The Fight. She was really in love with Seven and I think they probably fought a lot but they Got Each other [think Vic and G, but infinitely less toxic.] There have been no relationships and no want/desire of relationships either. Casual or long term. And she thinks it's possible, obviously, but not for her. So like hogwash but real hogwash. Something not-lasting. Friendship is different though. Though she's not that great with intimacy is friendship. The band is kinda ... different. Kind of. She's not that great with them but she's better. I feel I mentioned but she has dad friend affection/acts of service & quality time but in a 'i'm going to pick you up from that 2am party but we're not gonna talk as i drive you home with a side-eye'. I think Rowan sees the most steady affection from her, in that they SOMETIMES [not often lmao] even talk about feelings. Gasp.

For Good: Is there anyone in your OC's life who had an undeniable positive impact on who they are as a person? How did knowing this person improve your OC's life?

Haha. Would you believe Seven Lawless? I think without Seven there would be no Lucy or even Rowan. And sans Rowan and Seven there probably wouldn't be the rest of the band. I am not set how Hiyam was younger -- if she was mellower or the same. But I don't feel real friends came easy for her until Seven. Seven [and Rowan to an extant] in her life made a lot of crosses that she bore bearable. She didn't feel the impact of certain things because she had Seven. Maybe seven was a weight baring support, which probaably wasn't good for either in a sense. But I think it was mutual. And being loved that much [even tho it can be ... a lot] was good for a kid without any other affection.

15) What is your oc’s favourite time of day? Why is this? Do they have a daily practice during this time?

Ori is probably before suns up. Or late in the afternoon/evening. He has a gym membership and I feel its one that opens early. He goes for a run and then the gym and then shower and eat. If it is a late day at the gym, he gyms and then boards. I thibk as social as he is, he likes being able to focus on his workouts. So when the gym isn't too loud and busy is nice. Plus getting up early gives him time to get his healthy eating and sporty stuff out of yhe way so he can be available through the day [for adventures or doing fuck all]

Lala: I don't think really has a favorite time of day. I think partially because any time is a good time to do something but also because they're so chill. But I think they like the 11a-3pm time; surprisingly when yhe sun is brightest. Lunch menus are superior and it is prime people watching time. And idk, I feel that time so busy-- I think it energizes them. And the after dinnertime. They like to curl in and watch TV or listen to music.

Hiyam: You would think like 5am or the hours of the GRIND, but it is really around 9-11am. She isn't a morning person and just finds that an acceptable time to be bothered, if she most be bothered. It feels kinda decadent bc sometimes she really do be having to waken up bright and early, so times she can say fuck you to that are appreciated.

26) How stylistically fancy is your oc? Or would they rather go for comfort and plainness instead?

Stylistically fancy ON STAGE: Hiyam, BJ, Alana, Lala

Stylistically fancy OFF STAGE: Hiyam. Alana. Lala (at times).

Comfort and plainness ON STAGE: Ori

Comfort and plainness OFF STAGE: Ori, BJ [but still expensive ish and at a social acceptable level. I feel its more boring than plain], Lala, Alana (plainish. But never quite).

24) How dramatic is your oc? Do they make a big deal over every little thing, or do they fail to react to even the most crazy of events?

Dramatic: Hiyam (not in the traditional sense but definitely the most, certainly dramatic. And quite. Highly vindictive, button pusher, with a blown up head so ...)

Unphased: Lala. BJ, probably be in the middle because he can be quite the Dad Friend which can lead to [im not mad, im disappointed which imo is dramatic. You're not that old yet bruv] and he can be stern. But he is also very professional and levelheaded.

Somewhere in the middle: Ori, reckless but mindful when he remwmbers to be.. Alana, conceal don't feel but loves the drama.

Val Montemer

1) Their middle name is Ariel.

2) I think I've said before that they are really into cars and tinker in a garage. Nothing official, a hobby and they let them have their own spot.

3) Val's closet is filled with leather jackets. Which is fine because the rest of their clothing is rather cheap, mostly just white shirts and jeans. Though they have a few polos, like those weirdly colored and patterned one teenage boys wear. Like some weird puce green and maroon stripped thing. It hurts Nate's eyes and soul.

4) Despite dressing like a greaser and a 19 year old college skater as well just styling their hair the same, Val went to cosmetology school. Did well in it. Their focus is in hair. Tina and Felix are the only ones who make use of their skills these days.

5) Their favorite films are the Rush Hour ones [to Adam's exasperation and fondness. Val is one step away from saying "Do you understand the words coming outta my mouth?" To the wrong person. It really is a miracle they haven't yet.] And they love anything Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew related -- well they haven't seen the CW show yet.

6) Val is allergic to latex. They found out yhe first time they tried a kiwi in middle school.

7) Val has phasmophobia. It isn't severe but yeah they have a fear of ghosts. Which is funny because they would sometimes follow conspiracy theorists on YouTube and stuff.

8) Surprisjng to most: Val is a big tea drinker. They don't hate coffee but it isn't something they seek. They have 0 tattoos. And only two piercings; they did to prefer black studs.

9) Nate and Val don't like each other. But they're doing better. They're so different. Nate TRIES, of course, but Nate is Nate. However, for Val -- has pushed too many buttons. Still they make an effort for the team.

10) ooc fact: Val is my shortest (5'1") and youngest (24 at start of book 1) detective. Val might be one of my shortest IF characters, period.

Hiyam Vinke

1) In another life, I could maybe see Hiyam doing something corporate. She gave a go at pre-law and they took business classes. (Her parents definitely would have preferred it) But music was always her heart. And she always wanted to see her name in lights. Maybe she could have been an entertainment lawyer but I don't think she would have been happy.

2) Hiyam has this ... lowkey obsession for anything with wings and a stronger one for anything that can fly. I don't even fully know why zjhshshe. I mean I do but -- It sounds weird because she is just so brash but I think sometimes she does feel a bit caged. Maybe it is expectations, maybe it is preconceptions. I will figure it out yhe more I ponder her, I'm sure. I'm not sure how much of it is actual people caging her or how she just sees things. [I kind of feel like it is a mix]

But when she and Seven broke up, she replaced Seven"s initials with a butterfly.

3) Hiyam is an acts of service kind of love/friend. Less in the 'makes breakfast for you' [though she might] and more in the you're stranded, half drunk, and don't want Orion to know. You know you can call Hiyam at 2am and she will show up. Some complaints but she will show up with water and a blanket. She is not yhe little things friend but she is there when needed.

4) Recently learned that Hiyam has a soft spot for Rowan. And she is more fond of her fans [as a whole] than expected.

5) She is 6'0".

6) She did ballet from kindergarten [maybe earlier) well into HS. It was one of the few things her parents consistently showed up for. But music needed her focus, so she gave up performing but she still occasionally practices [no one knows]

7) She used to play chess with Devyn before Orion showed. And of course read up on it because she was so bad. She couldn't stand losing and I think that was around yhe time she had to let ballet go, so in her mind she refused to "quit" on something else. But she never got into it into it until the crush peaked.

8) Hiyam has two dogs. A French Bulldog and a Rottweiler.

9) She has her tongue and belly button pierced, on top of her ears.

I am still figuring them out but I think for Lala it is donuts. For Hiyam.... hrm, I think it is stamppot; a traditional Dutch dish.

For Hiyam, yes. For Lala, no. Lala was a Bloomic MC. They were thinner and their personality simpler. Since Infamous is a more indepth game, I've been trying to figure how to flesh them out.

💼 - What do they do for a living?

They're both musicians! Though og Lala was a math teacher, with a finance gig on the side.

Hiyam's focus is more pop with influences from the 80s and 90s. Lala is more folkish.

two roommates and some dude [hayden x kai x jay].

Jay would be called to kill the bugs. But Hayden is team catch and release. Jay is begrudgingly willing to indulge Hayden if she is THERE - Kai is fifty/fifty depending how bad and big it is - but killing is more effective. So, what Hayden don't know ... not that they would lie over something like that. It's been established. She doesn't like it, so she's been educating them. However, Kai is still team 'if they didn't wanna, they should've stayed outta my house.' Jay ... wishes he could argue with that. Technically he COULD, but he doesn't disagree, so.

Team physical. I feel physical would be easier for Kai and Jay is canonly touch starved. I FEEL Hayden could go either way, ya know? So she gives them what they need, then grosses them out with words.

i don't have songs for them yet! BUT off the top of my head: when the party's over by billie eilish, sometimes i run - the muna cover, i walk the line - the halsey cover. [funny all of these songs are from an rp!kendis ship mix 234wqew lmao. i know kai doesn't want kids but in a world where they and jay did have kids, it would clearly be kendis roflmao2343. both. but it is like this. i feel orion's place is so tight, there aren't many bugs in the first place. the needed traps are set, so they dead dead. hiyam i THINK, surprisingly [or maybe not], is catch and release -- especially for winged creatures. but bugged creatures are smol and hiyam can get a tad impatient. so they die. [orion is STARTLED to realize she is sorta .... not SAD, well maybe sad after that. so he tries to keep them buggies out with more gusto.]

can you see either of them as verbally affection? WELL SYKE! both of them are actually NOT THAT BAD for pep talks. but i THINK orion could go either way [idr], and hiyam CLAIMS to prefer physical [she does, but it's easier too.]

I am still struggling in how to define why people have stuck around Hiyam for so long [especially since Black Women dint get yhe pass white men do, si the fact that she hasn't learned and been katowed would be off putting. Plus no one really likes the relentless jackass, regardless of race or gender] and how much of an asshole and when is she as well as what and when are her soft spots.

I'm struggling with this as well, since my my second mc is also black and not a man, so I've been trying to develop their personality a bit more but I am also struggling to define this. Because I think about the fact that white people in the entertainment industry often don't get the same pass white, cis men do when it comes to how they behave and as you said people don't tend to enjoy being around a jackass. My second mc is not intentionally mean, they're just very blunt and honest with what they think and doesn't really like to be in the in the spotlight but they can appear to be mean/an asshole to people who they don't know. I got 42% on the hated/loved stat when it came to fans so I think you're doing better than me djndjdj. I might try and flesh them out a bit more and see what happens. I have another mc who's the exact opposite when it comes to my other mcs personality, they're outgoing, easily adaptable to situations, and goes with the flow of things; this is the first mc that I came up with with so they're a lot more developed than the second mc. It's really interesting to see the contrast between my mcs. I might end up creating more lmaoo. Infamous is truly giving me brain rot. This is the first time I've created more than one mc for an if game or fleshed them out all. 😩

I feel you on the last. I mean I've created multiple MCs before but this is the first time I've had them so pre-decided. Unless they're an old MC I'm reusing [and even then], I usually decide as I go. This is the first time I pre-created MCs before really even trying the demo. So it is new territory for both of us, homes. But we shall figure it out. Thats the beauty of creating, right?

Haha. Hiyam got higher than that - even though they decided to play the villain - I THINK because I decided she WOULD stop and sign autographs before the photoshoot. It came off favorable to her, of course -- even if the reason is partially selfish. Lmao. Mostly selfish. [Hiyam believes the attention is due! But she also realizes there is a relationship there that she needs to foster. IE, if these fans have tye good sense and taste to be HER [and the bands] fans, shouldn't she reward them? Ejbshshe.

So it comes off nice but it is really her securing her bag/feeding her own ego. Maybe that's a sort of balance you need to find for your character? Make their more ... unsavory tendencies work for them almost as much as it is a block for them.]

And I agree. Seeing the contrasts are fun. Not only in personality, but what comes easier to you with one vs the other. Like you said, time developing can have a lot to do with that. This is when you question how you can maybe make a certain aspect make more sense to you [if THAT makes sense? That sentence feels weird. That said, I've realized sometimes you're thinking oh I don't know this or can't figure it out because idk that character as well but then it turns out it is just yhe new character is keeping le secrets jsjdbdv]

I will say, one thing I do like is outside maybe the fans / media, the main characters [and the npcs] tend to treat asshole characters the same regardless of race or gender -- IG. Not that it helps me really, because I'm still struggling on why Rowan hasn't pubted her [actually this play through did help me a little. ]

Band name: How did they and the others come up with the band name? Has the name changed since it was founded?

Alana: Promised Promises.

Because I like pain, I feel the band name started with Alana and Seven. Essentially, just two young kids promising to be best friends forever (punctuated with their pinkies locked and kissing the other's thumb). Maybe they used to say cute things to each other like: 'Promisies?' (Alana probably started it and Seven fondly, exasperatedly, laughingly jumped into it because it made Alana laugh in turn) 'Are you a promiser?' Or 'I promised promised'. And so the band name came to be. Alana would rather die than change it.

Bethany Josnel: The Notations

No. I feel BJ's band name started the same reason I picked it oocly. It made me think of the Temptations, he's an r&b dude, and he plays the piano, lol.

I imagine people church probably played a lot of soul and OG R&B. Little Seven and BJ walking home from BJ's choir practice (that Seven hung around at) singing 'My Girl' to each other (not yet realizing my girl would mean my guy/my boy in about ten years). I think originally they had considered something more homage like, maybe something similar to the Ruinations (sounds pretty metal) or the Inclinations (they found a thesaurus) -- but maybe the wording 'musical notation' came up in a conversation, or they overheard it, and they looked at each other and new. And so it stuck.

Hiyam: The Vespas.

Yes. And surprisingly it was NOT after Seven left. Very early on the were known as Brimstones (aka Gonepteryx rhamni); Rown and Seven's urge to satisfy Hiyam's obsession with all flying/winged beings and still sound cool (she would rather die than admit it, but Hiyam thinks maybe it's a good thing they didn't go with Flying Squirrels). But it didn't last too long. Partially because people kept getting disappointed at a pop group called Brimstones and partially because people started calling Hiyam Bitches (instead of witch) and Brimstone .... and Seven couldn't fight everyone who insulted her girlfriend, so.

Albums: What are some of the albums the band has released? Are they a consistent style? What themes did they explore?

(Really making me dig up and ponder my notes huh? ;-P)

Lala

First EP was Pitchforks & Torches, First Album Here Kitty Kitty. P&T was really just a sample of sound. It was eclectic but not messy; it was eclectic in the sense that it was a nod to their origins and each song focused on two or more different band members' strengths. But the flow was good and the song titles followed the band theme. I think the best way to call it was alternate but the folk influences were there.

Then Here Kitty Kitty came out and though it was still alternative, still a bit folky, it veered hard into more an alternative hip hop sound. Though, the genre was different, the base was the same. You can definitely see that highlighting various band members vibe, still feel that twang, and that adventerous yet rebelliously nonchalant (nonchalantly rebellious) vibe of the EP. Their second album self titled DramaWh*re is another turn, away from the alternative and more folk, more twang, more southern. It focuses a bit more on Lala's vocals but not enough to push the band into acoustics land -- they've always been about supporting the group/doing what's best for it. It is a surprise but it's not a surprise.

As stated, there's a rebellious edge to a lot of DramaWh*re's songs. It is about making trouble and having fun, but not letting that overtake you. In the same name of having trouble and making fun, they like to dive into some ~sexiness~. Maybe a bit of spicy, a dip of romance. You can't fuck around without some fucking, after all. So DramaWhore's stuff (as the name implies) tends to be explicit.

Ori

Gains genre/vibe, as I like to term it is, Gympop or Himbro Punk Rock (aka synthpop). And though they've definitely touched into other genres (eletronic, indie pop/rock, pop punk etc), that's their heart. Whether they're singing about summertime sunshine, video games, doing reps, or badly flirting with people at a club, that's the base of their sound -- synthpop ........ and making sure people are having fun. While Lala's fun energy tends to read more let's bungee jump the grand canyon or yolo, let's go on stage half drunk and sing about our ex (daring, messy, a touch cocky); Ori's fun is more bonfire turn beach rave -- do a keg stand and pull out the glowsticks. It's silly, it's goofy, and it's energetic. Honestly, that's not just their vibe but also what they sing about (they probably have a song called glowstick ....)

A lot of their songs is about being down on your luck but still pushing through it: appreciate life, your loved ones, and everything in between. Maybe you're a loser but at least you're still living, dude.

Persona: How does their day-to-day personality compare to their on-stage persona?

Hiyam

Hiyam very much gives off the 'I'm the bitch you married' vibes (never seen gone girl, going off the gifs). And that is just a correct estimation of her personality. She might actually worse off stage? Like ruder. Because you want to beguile them on stage, right? On stage Hiyam is look at the sway of my hips, the turn of my hands, listen to my powerful vocals -- I make you want to come and go. Off stage Hiyam is MOVE BITCH GET OUT THE WAY.

Man, IDK. I'm tired. Personally I don't see them as overly too different. Hiyam struts on stage because she's just as arrogant off. She takes center and allures with her powerful vocals, and she's someone who will tell you what she feels (except if you're Orion) off stage. And because she knows she's the star. All eyes remain on her -- for better and for worse. She's audacious on and off. And she's definitely still a fashionista.

Actually, though, after doing this I really do think she's NICER on stage qwert lmao.

Lala woould. Because why not? Lala loves cheese, and Lala does what Lala wants. For some obscure reason I feel Hiyam would (especially if it meant they were doing it to be difficult @orion or seven)

6. which ocs eat consistent meals? which ocs just eat whenever they feel like it?

Josnel eats most consistent meals. Because BJ is the most adult. He is definitely the dad friend of his band. I feel the others fall into a spectrem. Alana eats like a bird I think (she's still new to me) -- consistently. It's consistent that Lala has food on hand? LMAO. But they eat when they want. I feel Ori does his best to be consistent because gymbro. But sometimes a homie gets the munchies.

11. which ocs have to be reminded to take breaks?

I feel all of them except Alana and -- maybe Lala? I feel Bethany Josnel too, but mostly because he actively works on it. Actually, I think it really depends on the situation and what. Like breaks in life? Probably BJ. Maybe Ori, depending on like if he's in a slump. Breaks in work maybe Hiyam. Breaks in love? Alana.

It's dropout anon once again! I was wondering what your ocs' music tastes are like. It can be any OC of your choice, if there's a specific one you want to talk about, they're all really interesting!

And one last question are there any ocs of yours that have currently been giving you brainrot?

I don't know the answer to this -- like kinks and romance stuff, that usually pops up as I go along. Unless it REALLY strikes me a head of time or is needed for the character.

Like, I think my infamous ocs like - mostly - the genres they play [lmao, wouldn't it be so funny to be good at preforming in a genre you hated??]

Let me think. BJ plays more R&B alt, but I think he also likes older jazz and blues. Duke Ellington, Etta James, Roberta Flack, I THINK [don't quote me on it, I'd have to listen to it, but the flavor feels like him] that he likes some Blue Eyed Soul too. I think he has much respect for Adele on many levels and likes the Bee Gees. Anyone who probably got a church background too, probably plays in his spotify list.

Strangely, I think he is into Florence and the Machine.

Hiyam is bringing back the older pop-r&b [80s and 90s lmao] vibes but I think she likes SOME of the newer stuff like Chloe Bailey, Bree Runway. I think she also likes the vibes of Sabrina Carpenter and Dove Cameron. I also feel she likes some of the younger female trap and hip-pop artists like Latto and City Girls. In my mind, I do think she has a lot of respect for - though she might not listen to [I need to hear it myself and see how I feel] - the pre-80s pop singers. The likes of Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, and Pattie LaBelle.

I am not quite as sure yet for the other three. What they like outside of their genres.

Kendis tends to gravitate toward black queer and women artists. Especially more modern stuff.

As for who I've been brain-rotting, no one in particular, but I have been going through one of my moods in really missing Kendis [and actually Andy too.]
