Hello bendy fandom Really fucking long rant/analysis abt me defending wally franks batim in a nutshell (and kind of basically making an au??.?. idk probably). enjoy if u want or don't idc 🎷🐇

i know this is a really stupid thing to be mad about, but the fact that wally isnt buddy boris has stuck with me ever since dctl was released. i found out through a fucking superhorrorbro video of all things all the way back in like 2018 i'm pretty sure 😭😭 i was so disappointed when i found out bc like WHAT DO U MEAN THE JANITOR/HANDYMAN OF JOEY DREW STUDIOS, EHO WAS GENERALLY A TRICKSTER AND A CLUTZ AND LIKED TO PISS PEOPLE OFF, ISN'T THE PERFECT BORIS CLONE. BUDDY BORIS FITS/HAD POTENTIAL TO FIT MOST TO ALL OF THAT CRITERIA.

and don't grt me wrong, i (kind of) like buddy as a character, BUT i really just don't think he fits the role (from what i've seen/read). like he could've been a different boris clone as a little easter egg/nod to what happened to him and how he died but as like. an important role in the game?? even though the books aren't even fucking canon apparently now so his subplot doesn't even make sense anymore?????.????... ooh bitchh

ALSO the "he (wally) got outta there that's why/he has a wife and kids" IS A WEAK ASS FUCKING ARGUMENT. THIS IS NOT A SHITS AND GIGGLES PLOTLINE U CAN JUST THROW AWAY. how come thomas grts to be tom (which makes somewhat sense with him also being a handyman type of guy), but wally can't also partake in the Main Character-ified Borisification to help henry traverse the studio. why can't that just be so easy to do. there could've been so many cool extra plotpoints and nods to what could've happened to him but Noooo Noooooooooo they just HAD to make a whole new character JUST for wally to NOT BE BORIS. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE BOOKS ARE NON CANON NOW BECAUSE THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE. (/sarc)

soo with all that said, PERSONALLY this is what i think they should've done with buddy instead (under the cut so this post isn't 600 pages long)

first of all; scrap buddy's origin story completely and just make dtcl about the fact that he was simply another victim of the machine instead of making him such a major character (ex. a boris clone that was almost perfect but didn't quite make it like i said earlier)

on top of that, dctl could've just been insight on a single worker's process through working at the studio to being one of many victims of the machine, instead of turning him into such a titular important gary stu ass character with an in-depth backstory and Joey Drew Favoritism™ apparently that CLEARLY didn't need it + shouldn't be an mc if he's only in the books + the books aren't canon and the games are. so then it doesn't make it make any sense if he has such an important role and he isn't even fucking canon anyway and etc.

if he would've just stayed a minor inconvenient mc in a non-canon book it wouldn't have been detrimental to the lore as Mr. D Likes To Exaggerate (to me) + the books just seem like a fun one-off exclusive to the game series anyway, so it starts to kind of make sense why they aren't canon and leaves a lot of mysteries up to interpretation which is something i DO appreciate (to a CERTAIN extent)

here's what i think could've been done if wally was actually buddy boris and faced The Horrors™ like a normal main character should. an au, if you will (AND bc im VERY bias abt wally since He was my first ever og blorbo the first time i heard his audio log i literally owe him my Life💜💜💜💜)

wally could've started dropping hints in his audio logs that something funny was happening in the studio (specifically to him)/he could've been the last major victim to be sacrificed to the machine and therefore being one of the reasons of having the role of "the perfect boris" as malice said

-he also seems like the type of person to give into manipulation fairly easily, not knowing how truly bad something is before he gets involved yk

-a bit of a stretch BUT could also be a nod to susie's initial likeness towards wally pre-canon and vice versa (sourced from the special audio log wally has on the jds yt channel)

-him being the perfect boris also could allude to his personality/attributes and the way he talked abt the studio

and you can't forget the audio log of him and thomas bickering like COME ONNNN THERE COULD'VE BEEN A WHOOOLE SUB-SUBPLOT WHERE TOM AND BUDDY BORIS RECOGNIZE EACH OTHER SOMEHOW AT SOME POINT BUT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW

-TOM COULD'VE RECOGNIZED HIM EVEN AS BRUTE BORIS AFTER HENRY KILLS HIM and allison too but TOMMMMMMM😭😭😭😭😭CAN ANYONE HEAR MEEEEE

extra hints in the game like certain phrases and mannerisms of his (ink/glowing ink writings like his "i'm outta here!" written in certain locations or like. boris being clumsier as he walks/carrying around keys/scavenging for food [kind of like in the start of chapter 3], etc.)

-i also think that the connection that buddy boris (and just boris in general) has with food can connect with wally as well bc of the audio log where he's like "Omg 💖 Cake 💖just for me! Don't Tell Anyone Though. Our little secret. 😝" or the bit in the handbook where he finds some "churros" i Guess

there's also a LOT of potential for there to be a whole OTHER subplot where sammy could have found him one day and hadn't recognized him bc All The Boris Clones Look The Same, but buddy boris recognized sammy and there could be a whole conversation with henry and sammy abt him and dropping hints at it and blahblahblah etc etc.

-sammy probably could've mentioned him* at some point too even if he hadn't seen buddy boris as like a "hey.. i knew that fuckass guy.. wtf" (*and i know he mentions wally in the hot topic takeover thing on twitter from a while ago but i mean like in the actual game)

i think that the fact of boris being a Non-Verbal King™ would also be a funny contrast to how many god damn audio logs wally has. like Shut yuor mouth fucker /REF

the bit in chapter 3 where boris knows every nook and cranny of the studio and how to navigate the vent system could also lead to wally's nature of having a lot of knowledge of the layout to the building (due to being a janitor/running errands for people, similar to buddy) + he mentions staying in late to freshen up some offices so he might've explored more using that time as well because his personality shows he's a bit of a nosy guy

ALSO a stretch, but wally's first audio log in chapter one being fairly close to the first boris corpse displayed could've been a good foreshadow to his revival as buddy boris (and where the theory originated i'm pretty sure once ch2 came out)

the saferoom at the start of chapter 3 could've also been a great place to reference him (they could've put his hat from bendy royale in the shelf next to/on the hammock Can anyone hear me)

i also think that wally is supposed to be painted as an older guy?? so he probably already would've moved on from the studio due to leaving and starting his own business and having a family I Guess?????? idk but to me i think he'd be more of the college drop-out that thinks he's hot shit type of guy when in reality he doesn't know what a 2 + 2 is (ex. the audio log in batds where he's like "i was the best Student! Brickmore High! [tiktok bold emoji] These college bozos don't be knowin' shit!!"

-younger people are easier to manipulate like i talked abt earlier (especially someone like him that doesn't think before he Does Anything . boy has no thoughts)

wally also most likely would've known who henry was/was friendly with him while working there too at some point while henry was still at the studio pre-canon, so he probably recognized him throughout the cycle

i could ramble forever abt this bc it's such a strangely frustrating topic for me BUT in conclusion; i personally tbink that it would've been perfectly logical for wally to have been buddy boris (probably called somethig else), and buddy should've been a completely seperate character that would've done just as well on his own in the book instead of having a whole ass overarching plot for no reason?? and the "canonicity" of it is weirdly up for debate??? idk Watever thank you for coming to my tedtalk 😇😇Bye

And this is Heidi fleiss and heard the just son mentioned her and she's kind of a b**** and it's starting to wonder something his mom is Camilla but she's half the brain and it's a mutant and his mom probably has answers and they can't get anything out of her. They studied the family studied our son and Hera and they can't figure anything out. The results are they're all trying to study other stuff and we do get it and we're launching tons of missions right now he says finally and she says finally.

And we're doing hog wild but on top of that the bronco thing is taking hold they think it's terrific Joey hahaha bronco whatever the bronco bills I'm so laughing I think that's the other league and her son says it's in the middle of the problem that's where you are and he says oh I see. And the broncos perfect she's tried selling it before and it didn't work she goes it did work and I know about it and they're freaking nuts start driving broncos all over the place trying to get near him comes near me as well. So you can see my point. Now these people obnoxious and rude already and saying dumbass things and it's starting to figure out something I don't want to see them working they look like little chipmunks hardly doing anything it's kind of rude what they're doing but anyways that was Hera interjecting and it is working it was working and she saw it but our son and daughter just made it huge and really it was her he says and she really dumped it all on there and he put just a teeny bit and she came up with most of the little riddles for them and they enjoy it. He'll probably have a bronco tomorrow you might win one in a contest it says I'd have to sell it because I have gas money or insurance money it's true the cat's going before the horse his reasons for him to have money and people are starting to see it but they don't seem that concrete. I'm asking him why they have no answers just lame s*** so I'm going to start hitting on the head and figure out what the real answer is that way

was having angsty thoughts about who found scott’s body and then was having angsty thoughts about joel so i decided to combine them :) we need more joel fics tbh

Joel thinks he might be the only one left in the world, which is worrying until one remembers that his entire empire is just clones of himself.

So there’s thousands of people, but they’re all him.

And frankly, that’s worrying too.

The ocean’s completely dried up now. He’d been so immediately preoccupied by temporarily fixing his palace that he hadn’t checked on Lizzie, and now he’s kicking himself because she hasn’t turned up anywhere. It’s barely been a day since the explosion, but everyone is gone. He checks Gem, Joey, Katherine . . . everyone. They’ve vanished.

He saves Jimmy as one of the last he checks on, and not because he doesn’t care about Jimmy, but rather the opposite—he can’t bear to turn up at the swamp only to find that his closest friend is missing.

When he finally does drop by, he finds it the same as everywhere else. The swamp has dried up, and similar to certain empires he stopped by (namely fWhip’s and Lizzie’s), Jimmy’s citizens are dead, corpses strewn around the entire empire. Joel doesn’t even blink, just checks Jimmy’s various sleeping locations—on top of the cod statue, under a chest in his chest room, inside the glass wall—and finds him nowhere.

Something gives him hope, though—Jimmy’s dogs and Big Man Norman are gone. That’s as much a sign as anything that Jimmy’s fled. That Jimmy’s alive.

Unless the pets are dead too.

Joel tries to think of where Jimmy might run to, where Jimmy might go to for comfort. And suddenly, he remembers that he hasn’t checked on Scott.

He’s been writing Scott off for years—first there was all that business with the imaginary demon-brother-thing, then he was flirting with Jimmy, and then the ice magic—but he knows that Jimmy is quite fond of Scott, so even if Jimmy isn’t there, maybe Scott will know if he’s alive.

So Joel grabs a spare stack of fireworks from Jimmy’s chest and shoots into the air, toward Rivendell.

The first thing he notices is the black cloud in the distance. A few seconds later, he catches the smell of smoke. He begins to dread the worst.

When Rivendell comes into sight, the black cloud is so thick around it that Joel can barely see what’s happening. It’s starting to clear, though, and the giant dead tentacles that are crushing buildings here and there give him the idea that Scott perhaps dealt with a different breed of destruction from everyone else.

The buildings that were on fire have been put out, but their collapsed, blackened husks still smoke. The worst is Scott’s palace, completely fallen in on itself, the integrity of the structure farther ruined than Joel’s own palace. He feels a twinge of sympathy for the elf—the elf that he’s meant to be finding right now.

He doesn’t have much hope.

Joel covers his mouth with his coat as he circles closer, passing through the smog and scanning for a sign of life. There’s a couple of elves here and there in the village below Scott’s palace, throwing water over the destruction. There are more dead than living, and he watches as a small elf pulls a charred body from the wreckage of what was once a house.

Scott isn’t down helping his people, though, and Joel’s almost certain that there will be no trace of him, just like his wife and all of his friends. He’s about to send off another firework and wheel away when he sees a splash of cyan below.

He slows, begins descent as through the smoke and his streaming eyes, he can make out more. The cyan is hair, shoulder length, a glimmering crown. . . .

Oh.

He lands, stares, uncertain. 

“Well, you aren’t going to help me find Jimmy, are you?” he asks aloud, even as he chokes on the air. Scott, of course, doesn’t respond.

Scott’s on his side, eyes blankly open, his grey face somehow conveying a range of emotions from grief to extreme pain to determination. His lovely blue coat and silk shirt are soaked through with blood, the tip of the sword that ran him through still sticking into his body. Scott’s hands have gone slack around the handle, but it’s clear that he drove the weapon into his own heart.

Joel looks around and, sure enough, he finds another form. He doesn’t recognize them (there are no such thing as demons and he’s never seen this Xornoth once in his life, thank you very much), but he feels that he understands what happened when he prods their cold body and finds them just as dead as Scott.

Dead. Scott’s dead.

If Scott’s dead, that means anyone could be dead. That means everyone could be dead.

Joel’s not sure what elvish traditions are for the dead, but he tries his best to be respectful. He tugs the sword the rest of the way out of Scott’s chest, then rolls the elf onto his back, placing his hands (still grasping the hilt) over his chest. He closes Scott’s eyes, considers smoothing out the wrinkles that betray the pain Scott felt in his final moments, then decides against it.

He’s been carrying a little clay jug in his pocket all day, in case he came across a scene like this. He looks around—Scott’s cod sanctuary still has a bit of water, but none of the cod are alive and there’s some dead red vines draped over it, so that probably wouldn’t be the best. Finding no water that looks uncorrupted, Joel sighs and uncorks his waterskin, dribbles some of his own water into the jug and stoppers the little thing. He takes a swig of water from his waterskin, then ties it back onto his waist.

He places the jug on Scott’s chest, then Scott’s crown around it. It’s a custom in Mezelea, to entomb the dead with water in a pot made by their family. It’s believed that the water will provide them the sip they need to make it across the desert to paradise in the afterlife. Joel made the jug himself, and though he isn’t Scott’s family, he hopes it’s all right.

He’s not sure what to do with Xor—the other body, but he arraigns him gracefully with his arms at his sides and hopes that the elves in the village will know what to do.

He tells them before he leaves that their emperor is dead. He doesn’t stick around long enough to hear their cries.

Joel spends the rest of the day and night recovering, then heads straight back out in the morning. He has to find them, has to find his wife, has to find his friends. He can’t find anyone, and he spends three days searching before he just can’t get out of bed anymore.

He knows, logically, that he should still be looking for them. They could be out there, waiting for him.

He knows, illogically, that if he never finds them, he never has confirmation of their deaths.

So Joel stays. He’s the last ruler on earth, and it feels sort of like when a friend group breaks up after a big fight and leaves and only one of them regularly returns to their hangout spot. He takes down the temporary scaffolding propping up his palace and properly rebuilds it, but he only builds one more building after that before he realizes he’s lost his love for it. He’s lost everything.

Joel sequesters himself in Mezelea. That way, if—when his friends return, he’ll be in the first place they look for him. He starts making tiny clay containers, a good dozen of them, places them on the throne intended for his wife. He doesn’t fill them with water. After all, none of the rest of them were dead. This is just . . . this is just a housewarming gift. For when they get back.

The jugs collect dust, and Joel collects years as he putters around his empty palace, as his people slowly pack up and migrate to who knows where. Some days he rages at his friends, blesses Scott for being the only one to stay with him, smashes windows and little clay animals and tears at his hair. Some days he repairs what he’s broken, longsuffering and weary. Most days, he lies in bed and wonders what he did wrong to be left behind.

The Mad King of Mezelea falls into legend, the last, the one to linger. When he dies, he dies slumped against his front door, as if waiting for someone to knock. Mezelea becomes a memory of what it once was, buildings no more than ruins. Many hundreds of years into the future, when archeologists uncover his skeleton, they wonder why the clay jugs on the throne have never been filled. They wonder why he has no traditional clay container. They wonder why no one ever found him.

Joel, in his final moments, wonders if anyone will remember him. He wonders why no one ever came back. He wonders why he’s had to spend so many decades alone.

Then he’s gone, and the only one who remembers him is gone too.

Character Profile: Match

No one asked for this one, but I’m doing it because a) I want to, b) dude only has, like, 40 in-continuity appearances so it’s easy, and c) I might be writing fic about him in the near future and I want to prime the pump. So!

Match is a clone of Conner Kent/Kon-El, the 90s Superboy, and first appeared in Kon’s solo book. Basically, Kon was created by shady geneticists at Cadmus Labs, who cloned Superman without his knowledge or consent. After this was discovered, the shady people were ousted, whereupon they formed a new shady lab, The Agenda, and cloned their clone to create Match. He may or may not have a bellybutton.

Match has been designed to be sold as a super soldier, and is thus stronger and more durable than Kon, as well as programmed with more extensive knowledge than Kon had when he first came out of the test tube. Kon’s less troubled by that than by the fact that they’re treating a person like he’s property, but Match is unbothered:

Kon, being a very good and sweet boy, tries to get Match to see that a) he’s as human as anyone else and b) they’re basically brothers, but Match isn’t having it. They fight, the bad guys’ base explodes, and Match refuses to let Kon save him, leading to his presumed death in a nuclear explosion.

Of course, he’s not actually dead...

Match next appears in Young Justice during the “Sins of Youth” event, where it’s revealed that he took Kon’s place on the team several issues prior and no one noticed. (No one comments on the fact that he’s supposed to be dead, but I guess they’re all used to living in a comic book universe by now.)

Omg these BABIES. They were so little!

You can see that Match has a much more relaxed, colloquial way of speaking than he did the last time we saw him. This is the beginning of a trend: every time Match shows up in a new book, he has a completely different personality than the last time. Before, he was a compliant and robotic; now he’s a sassy enforcer.

(It’s later revealed that Match used a hologram to disguise himself as Kon, which is hilarious because, sweetie, you could have just dyed your hair. Either way, the black hair is here to stay.)

Match continues to not do very much through the remained of Superboy and Young Justice - the Agenda kills Kon’s first love, Tana Moon, during “Sins of Youth,” but Match has already bailed by then and isn’t really complicit, and he shows up during the “Joker’s Last Laugh” event as a Jokerized version of himself, but the whole team thinks he’s just Kon playing a particularly unfunny prank and ignores him until he goes away. (This is the start of his crush on Cassie, though.)

He next shows up in the 2000s Teen Titans run as part of the Titans East, a team of evil Titan counterparts brought together by Slade, and as promised, he’s completely different than both of his previous iterations:

Yeah, he’s a bizarro now, which annoys me so much. Bizarros are created via a specific process! Any clone of a Kryptonian is not automatically a bizarro! If that were true, Kon would be a bizarro! UGH. Geoff Johns, grow an imagination, please.

Anyway yeah, Match is in a bunch of issues of Teen Titans but he doesn’t do anything except be a bizarro and be in love with Cassie, because her entire existence has been reduced to being an object of desire. I hate this series so much.

However, I do enjoy that it put Match on the same team as Bart’s evil clone, Inertia, because I ship the crap out of them.

The Titans East are eventually defeated, and because Match is too powerful to leave running around free, his body is taken over by Joey Wilson, a.k.a. Jericho, a.k.a. Deathstroke’s son who can possess people and keeps going back and forth between being good and evil. This is actually super fucked up under any circumstances, and I like to believe that Kon, who argued so firmly for Match’s personhood and freedom when they met, wouldn’t have been okay with it if he had been alive at the time. But the Titans are fine with it, I guess?

A little bit later, Match attacks the Titans (the grownup ones, not the Teens), while a panicked Joey explains that he can’t control him anymore:

Everyone looking real unfortunate here.

It’s eventually revealed that Jericho is playing them: he’s the one in control, and Match is the terrified prisoner. Because yeah, that’s what possession is! Ugh this is so dumb. I’m not saying that Match is a nice person or anything, but human rights are still human rights, Titans.

Jericho leaves Match’s body and causes havoc, Match is basically forgotten, and the next time we see him, um. He’s been killed by Superboy-Prime and his DNA has been harvested to create three more evil Kon clones, all of whom are promptly killed by Damian and Rose, because it’s not murder if they’re a clone...? AGAIN, I THINK KON WOULD RAISE SOME OBJECTIONS HERE. I mean, he’s there and he doesn’t. But he should!

This is pretty much how things were left with Match by the time the New 52 kicked off a month or so later. Kon is a completely different character with a completely different backstory, so there’s no Match...

...until this year, when he turned up on the Suicide Squad, of all places, with - you guessed it - a completely different personality!

That’s a bit of a spoiler (sorry), because when the series begins, the reader is meant to believe that this is the real Superboy:

He certainly believes himself to be the real deal, even though he has almost complete amnesia regarding his past life and how he ended up in kryptonite shackles. (It’s established that he has the same bomb in his head to control him that the rest of the Squad does, presumably laced with kryptonite I guess?)

“Superboy” is fully the boy scout you’d expect him to be: he defies orders to save lives, pulls his teammates back from unnecessary cruelty, and when they’re sent to kidnap a rookie Teen Titan named Bolt, he helps her escape instead. But he becomes increasingly concerned by his amnesia, and by the fact that a teammate with psychic powers, Nocturna (another character who is completely different every time she shows up), says there’s something very wrong with his mind. During a particularly stressful mission to Earth-3, he starts to “fracture,” and an alarmed Waller tells the team to get him back to base now for his “medicine.”

But then the real Superboy shows up:

Yeah, Kon heard about the whole Teen Titans kidnapping attempt and shows up to figure out what the hell is going on, since he knows he’s definitely not on the Suicide Squad. Match, distressed by this revelation, breaks down even further:

Meanwhile, the Squad finds a massive cloning facility full of yet more Superboy clones. Turns out Waller picked up where the Agenda left off, and the “medicine” she’s been giving Match keeps him looking and speaking more like Kon, but also fucks with his memory. Match refuses another dose when it’s offered to him.

Kon, who recognizes Match from the previous continuity (Infinite Frontier is a mindfuck, just roll with it), gently reminds Match of who the Agenda is and promises that he and the League will help Match and ensure that Waller faces justice. But just then, one of Waller’s failsafes kicks in, and the Squad is teleported to another dimension against their will.

MATCH JUST WANTS TO BE GOOD!!! KON IS TRYING SO HARD TO BE A GOOD BROTHER!!! I’M CRYING!!!

Since this issue, Match has remained on the Suicide Squad, since he can’t really leave, what with the bomb in his head and all. He's been taking a variation on the serum that allows him to think clearly and retain his memories, but leaves him looking like a bizarro. He and most of his teammates are secretly trying to figure out a way to escape the Squad, and he and Nocturna have begun a romantic relationship, which is a little weird for me since a couple continuities ago she was Jason Todd’s adoptive mother, but oh well.

I’ve liked Match since his original incarnation, but this version is my favorite. I didn’t like turning him into a bizarro, but this adds so much nuance and pathos to him. It’s also more in keeping with the original Bizarro, who generally means well even as he’s causing chaos. I also love that we’ve returned to a version of Kon who genuinely cares about his clone, and shows such grace and compassion to him (honestly, more than Clark showed Kon, which might be part of why Kon tries so hard with Match). And just think how excited Jon will be to get yet another new big brother!

I’m given to understand that there is a Match on the Young Justice cartoon. I know nothing about him. But look at the Tiny Titans version!!!

I lied, this version is my favorite.

Like I said, I ship Match very hard with Inertia, and I have fic planned with them, but so far all I can give you is a cameo in Say It Just One Time. HOWEVER, @irolltwenties​ has written them here and here and you should absolutely read both fics immediately.

The Ink Demonth 19

Today’s prompt is entertainment, so I decided to use this post that’s been in my drafts for ages about what the ink creatures do in their free time. 

The inspiration was this post.

@marie-lamb-b also provided some insight on the Butcher Gang.

The inhabitants of Joey Drew Studios had to be creative when it came to keeping themselves busy. It wasn’t like an abandoned cartoon studio full of monsters had a whole lot in the way of ready-made amusements.

They had to work with what they had to make their own entertainment.

Alice sang and sewed clothes for herself from whatever materials she could find. She couldn’t do a lot with the materials, but it made her feel better. The feeling of the needle sliding through the fabric, the sound of her own humming echoing around the room...It reminded her of better days. It reminded her of when she’d been happy.

Stabbing herself with the needle wasn’t exactly fun, but the pain from that was negligible when compared to the other injuries she’d incurred in the studio.

Singing calmed her down when she was on the verge of losing herself as well. If she closed her eyes and just...focused on the music, it was like nothing else existed. Everything was fine. She was fine. If she closed her eyes, she could picture her home, her parents. She wondered if they missed her.

Sammy spent a lot of time by himself. Despite being the leader of a large cult of Lost Ones and Searchers, he was still an intensely introverted person who needed a lot of alone time to maintain his sanity and not yell at his flock. He holed up in his Sanctuary to compose or write, occasionally with Jack accompanying him when he was having trouble with certain lyrics. 

Sammy didn’t often play music given that his inky form didn’t interact well with strings. But if he concentrated very hard he could hold himself together long enough to play the banjo. The Lost Ones could sometimes coax him into playing and singing for them, but it took a lot of begging. 

It always soothed them to hear him sing. His voice was high and clear, filling their hearts with feelings and memories they’d long forgotten. Those memories were gone once he finished playing, but the feelings remained. 

Sammy had taught a few of the Lost Ones to play instruments as well and they’d managed to smuggle said instruments to the village in order to practice. It provided quite a bit of entertainment for those who weren’t practicing, because there was something inherently funny about watching someone made of ink trying to figure out how to play an instrument without covering it in ink as well. Or clogging the internal components with ink.

The Lost Ones set up games in their village on occasion, although it took time and preparation, so if they wanted to play a game they had to decide in advance. They would set up towers of soup cans and usually use balls of wax to try and knock the towers down. Or they’d just build the towers in the first place. It kept them busy and it was actually rather fun. 

Allison and Tom similarly utilized the soup cans for their own games. They had access to more materials and a smaller space, so their games looked a bit different than those the Lost Ones played. A lot of theirs involved the fish tank. There were also times when Tom would lay his head in Allison’s lap while she sang. It reminded him of their life outside the studio. Even if she didn’t remember it, it made him happy.

The Borises enjoyed playing instruments, even if the majority of them didn’t last long enough to play any truly beautiful music. Still, playing gave them some modicum of comfort before their ultimate deaths. 

The Boris occupying the safehouse spent his time playing the pinball game he’d found in the wall and doodling. He didn’t venture out too often due to the Ink Demon’s tendency to jump scare him. The Ink Demon’s favorite past-time was scaring the other inhabitants of the studio, after all.

And then there were those in the Bendyland warehouse. 

Bertram wasn’t able to move, being trapped in a ride and all, so he had to rely on getting entertainment from visitors. He only ever got three, though. 

The Butcher Gang clones bearing the souls of Lacie, Grant, and Shawn often visited him, both to seek shelter and to cheer him up when he got lonely. Lacie fixed up any issues that might have come up while Shawn just sewed away in a corner. 

Edgar was usually the one in control, which meant that when the trio visited he’d usually want to ride in one of Bertram’s carts. Bertram, begrudgingly, would allow this. The little spider’s smile was too cute to resist. Not to mention, it usually calmed Grant down as well.

The only entertainment the Projectionist ever got was watching the cartoons that played in his labyrinth. Sometimes, if he watched long enough, he almost seemed to remember something. It never lasted long. Soon enough, he was back to his endless trudging.

How would the Butcher gang react if they met Cameraman! Thomas Conner in the studio, or Allison Angel?

In the Wizard!Wally AU, Thomas ‘Cam’ner is the first perfect toon to come out of the Ink Machine and the last as Tom was the only human soul that Joey managed to get in there due to having his plans ruined by a bunch of meddling magic users and Susie Campbell with a gun.

The human beings who’d otherwise become the butcher gang mistake him for a toy that used a fancy camera for a head, too fancy for a toy if you asked them... So Tom’s opinion of them isn’t too great as they tried to pull off his fucking head to sell it and they freaked out when they learned he’s a living, sentient being who can shoot lasers out of his head.

And if this question is also asking how’d Allison react to Cameraman!Tom instead of ‘how’d the B gang react to Allison A’ then while she thinks that Thomas’s new form is adorable, she’d rather have her human boyfriend back as A. Tom is absolutely miserable like this. And B. it’s kinda weird dating someone who’s sharing his body with someone else (albeit unwillingly) who’s not romantically or sexually interested in you in the slightest.

However, if the Wizard!Wally AU did descend to ink hell:

The Butchered gang clones react to their camera-headed intruder the same way they react to everything that moves and isn’t one of them: try to kill it.

The Butcher gang themselves are too busy trying to keep themselves alive to try to help a former rival of theirs, but they don’t out right attack him unless he threatens their lives with his actions.

Allison’s interactions with Cam!Tom are practically identical to hers with Boris!Tom, the only real difference between the two (other than the physical ones) is that sometimes, Cam!Tom will get forcefully adopted by the projectionist.

Alice Angel was humming her signature song, Lonely Angel, as she was about to walk into her station where many of the Boris she captured was kept. One of these days a Boris would make her beautiful again. Once she made it to her quarters she checked out her prison where many of the Boris were held. The wolves turned and whimpered going to the edge of their cages at the sight of the twisted angel.

Alice chuckled. “Now. Now my precious Boris it’s not time yet. I’m just making sure your all in your places before I decide to pick, which is the perfect Boris to help me.” She said. The Boris whimpered and looked at each other through their cages worried, which one was going to be next. Alice gave a laugh before slamming the door shut causing the wolves to flinch.

The room went silent for a while, but not so long after Alice had left the wolf toons heard a cage being opened. The cage held a rebellious Boris with his entire arm torn apart thanks to Alice capturing him the first time he tried to escape. This Boris was named Tom because that’s what his cage labeled him. The Boris knew this Tom Boris is as good as dead with how he behaves.

Tom slowly opened his cage and made sure the twisted angel wasn’t going to come back anytime soon. The rebel Boris slowly got out of the cage and started to wander to a secret door that Alice didn’t even know. Tom sighed and was ready to leave and find a way out of this damn studio and find his…friend.

A whimper from one of the cages caught the attention of Tom. Tom turned and saw a Boris slightly smaller then him whimpering from his cage. Tom sighed he didn’t have time for this he just wanted to get out of here. The other Boris whimpered louder wanting to get out of his cage.

Tom went close to the crying Boris’s cage glaring at him to shut him up. The crying Boris whimpered and stepped back away. Tom took a step back from the cage ready to walk out, but caught the name of the Boris.

Wally

Tom knew who Wally was; he was the janitor at the studio who would always shout his signature “I’m outta here” catchphrase when something even the smallest thing happened to him at the studio. Tom’s wolf ears dropped knowing Wally an innocent worker became another victim due to Drew’s twisted schemes.

Tom growled knowing he had to break Wally out too. He gave another look towards the door leading to Alice’s sanctuary. Tom sighed and struggled to get Wally’s lock open due to him having only one working paw. He played with the lock and kept his eyes on the door where Alice could come in at any moment.

It felt like an eternity, but Tom got the lock open and escaped with Wally to the other door. Wally opened his eyes and saw he was finally free no longer trapped in a cage to be used for some twisted experiment by Alice. Tom ushered Wally to get out of the cage and dashed out the door.

Wally whimpered holding on to Tom as the rebel wolf looked for a safe place to hide. Tom shushed Wally so his whimpers wouldn’t catch any creature’s attention. Wally nodded and stayed quiet as Tom looked for a way out of here. Tom sniffed the air and once it was clear he grabbed Wally’s hand and dashed away.

Time passed after they escaped and there was no sign of searchers, Butcher Gang clones, or even Alice. Tom ushered Wally as they ran towards the hallway leading to the elevator. Tom glared at the blasted elevator and decided to take the door leading to the stairs. Wally was confused why Tom Boris wanted to take the stairs then the elevator it would make the travel a lot easier.

Tom Boris walked back to grab Wally Boris’s hands? Paws? Whatever and took him up the stairs. Wally and Tom made it to Floor 11 where it would be safe. Tom shushed Wally as they walked up the stairs that led to the escape.

Once they made it up Wally’s ears twitched hearing heavy breathing. Tom heard the heavy breathing too and growled knowing whom it was. He dashed away from the scene before the one and only Ink Demon caught them.

The Ink Demon chuckled and followed the two wolves. “Oh Boris.” He hissed with a gurgle in his tone. The Ink Demon laughed as he chased after the two wolves.

Wally whimpered, but Tom held Wally’s paw tighter as he ran off from the Ink Demon. As they ran they bumped into another familiar face. Tom shook and gasped seeing another Boris in front of them.

The third Boris rubbed his head and once he looked at the other two Boris. He stepped back and hid in the corner. Tom and Wally looked at each other seeing how skittish this Boris was. He was perfect, on model, and in character. Tom couldn’t believe it. He walked towards the Boris who just looked scared and took a step back away from the rebel Boris.

Wally Boris came by and got close to the other Boris. The other Boris turned away hoping the other Boris wouldn’t hurt them. Wally held his hand out for the Boris to take it. The Boris whimpered and looked at Wally not trusting him. However, the smile Wally gave him gave the Boris a bit of trust. Boris took Wally’s hand and got up, but soon he gasped recognizing the wolves. The wolf got a close look at them and recognized them even though they were wolves he was able to look in their eyes and just knew who they were right off the bat.

The Boris tried to speak, but his words came out like barks. “Thom…as?” Tom’s ears picked up. How did this Boris know his full name? “Wal…ly?” Boris barked again. Wally was surprised how his name was remembered too. This made the two runaway wolves wonder who this Boris was. The Boris sighed and took their hands taking them somewhere safe.

Wally and Thomas looked at each other wondering where this Boris was taking them. The wolf dragged them to a small room locking the door once the three got in. The room was small with a table and a radio playing music, another room on the right leading to a bedroom and a bathroom.

The wolf went to a can of ink and started to write his name on the wall. Tom gasped when he first saw the first two letters. B U D. Once the last letters, D Y was on the wall Wally and Tom realized this Boris was Buddy Lewek the young kid who worked at the studio. Of all the workers in the studio Joey had to pick a kid, a kid for heaven’s sakes!

Tom growled knowing once he runs into Joey again he would give him a piece of his mind as well as a fist right to his face. Wally whimpered remembering Joey and how he became a Boris. He missed his family, friends as well as his human body.

Buddy whimpered and looked down. He missed his mom and Dot, especially Dot. Wally walked over to his former co-worker and pat him on the back. Buddy gave a smile and used his arm to hug Wally. Tom rolled his eyes, but Wally grabbed him and the three wolves hugged each other in comfort.

Later, Buddy Boris was on the stove cooking up some bacon soup for the other two Boris. The two wolves were hungry and would eat anything other then ink that Alice has gave them. The Boris wish they could talk again, being silent as the soup cooked made things awkward around here.

Once the soup was done, Buddy poured the soup into three separate bowls and handed them to each of the wolves. Wally smiled and enjoyed the soup finally something to eat that was good. Tom stared suspiciously at the soup. He took the spoon and scooped up some soup and took a sip. He didn’t enjoy it, but it was better then nothing and kept on eating. After they were done they sat around as the radio played music and Buddy was doodling on a piece of paper.

His doodles told his story on how he became a Boris, which made Tom’s blood boil. Hearing more about Buddy’s fate angered him. Tom gasped as his ears twitched hearing a familiar singing. Tom shushed as the familiar song was hummed throughout the studio. He hushed the other two Boris’s as the angel was walking around singing her familiar song. Alice was right by their door still singing her song. Tom gave a low growl going protective mode.

Soon, it went cold dead silent. Tom growled sensing the twisted angel was still there. Then the footsteps were heard sounded like it was leaving the place. Wally and Buddy sighed knowing they were safe for now. Tom growled and walked over to the door lever and pulled it out. He handed the lever to Buddy and gave him a hand gesture to hide it somewhere safe until they need it.

After their long day, Buddy took Wally and Tom to a part of the safe house where a hammock and a chest were set as beds for the two wolves. Tom took the hammock while Wally took the chest and quickly fell asleep. Tom was about to fall asleep, but saw Buddy didn’t have a place to sleep he signaled the Boris if he needed to sleep, but Buddy just went back to the table and drew. Tom sighed and if he could he would of smiled seeing how kind Buddy was. He went to the hammock and fell asleep to plan what to do next.

“AH.... BEN.... YEAH I REMEMBER HIM ALL TOO WELL HEH.... WE HAD A LOT IN COMMON. SIMILAR BACKSTORY. BOTH OF US GOT NEGLECTED BY OUR JOEYS IN THE PAST. ONLY A FEW DIFFERENCES I GUESS. HE WAS MORE MAN-MADE FROM THOSE... LOOPS OR CYCLES I THINK THEY’RE CALLED. WHILE I WAS... GENTICALLY MADE FROM TWO HUMAN SOULS AND FOUR DEMON SOULS.... I TIHNK” he rubs his own forehead, rumbling softly “BUT! I DO KNOW THAT WE ARE ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD FREINDS! KINDA SIMILAR TO MY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MY BOI BENNASHEE AND MY BRO SOUL, ME AND BEN JUST.... HAVE A CONNECTION” he crosses his arms thinking slightly “AS FOR HOW WE MET.....” he thinks. trying to remember “WE MET WHEN DURING WHEN THIS BLOG WAS ON A HIATUS. WHEN I WAS STILL. RECOVERING FROM MY FIRST ‘DEATH’ AFTER FADED MADE ME LOSE CONTROL. WHEN THAT... SHADOW ANIMATRONIC WAS AROUND. CHANGING DRAGO OR SOMETHING. BEFORE HE MADE THEM CHANGE. THEY AND HIM WERE A BIT OF AN... ASSHOLE WHEN FUSED INTO THAT... STAGEFRIGHT OR NIGHTSHOW OR WHAT THE FUCK EVER....” he grunts, slightly glowing purple but. quickly shaking it off “ANYWHO IM GETTING OFF TRACK. BEN ARRIVED AT THAT WEIRD STUDIOS WE ALL FIRST ARRIVED AT IN THAT MULTIVERSE PLACE. A CHANGING STUDIOS IF YOU WILL. ANYWHO IT WAS DURING A PRETTY BIG AND NASTY STORM. ME AND BEN MET UP WHEN I WAS MORE... NORMAL AND WE TALKED AND SUCH AND WE QUICKLY BECAME BESTIES HEH....” he crosses his arms, smiling softly as he grew a bit smaller. his horns shrinking as talking about ben seemed to make him more. perfect? (:0) or something as he keeps thinking slightly. eventually almost looking like his standard inked state.

“BUT... WELL THAT STORM TURNED OUT TO BE ONE OF THOSE WEIRD GIANT MONSTER THINGS YOU HUMAN CALL KAIJUS... I THINK IT’S NAME WAS GHIDORAH? OR SOMETHING I DUNNO. ME AND BEN CONNECTED FURTHER WHEN I SAVED HIS ASS FROM BEING FRIED TO A PUDDLE HEH” he snorted, chuckling softly as he smiled a bit more, his ink stopped oozing as his inky aura seemed to dissapear almost “WE KEPT ON TALKING. LEARNING ABOUT EACHOTHER’S PASTS. WE KEPT HELPING EACHOTHER WITH OUR.. PROBLEMS AND PAST... EVEN LETTING OUT SOME UNHEARD SECRETS ABOUT US HEH... FOR A TIME I THOUGHT HE HAD FRAGMENTS OR MEMORIES OF ALL THE WORKERS’S SOULS INSIDE OF HIM WHEN HE TOLD ME HIMSELF HE WAS SOULLESS. YET HE COULD STILL FEEL EMOTIONS.... THOUGH THAT SOON CHANGED WHEN EARLIER AFTER I KILLED AND MERGED FADED FOR GOOD INTO MY OWN SOUL....” he huffs softly, his ink rising back up but he quickly calmed down, taking in a deep breathe.

“THIS WAS WHEN I... WAS MORE BROKEN AND RECOVERING FROM EVERYTHING. I GREW VERY PARANOID. AND SCARED OF FUSING. OR BEING AROUND OTHER DEMONS BUT. BEING AROUND BEN. MADE ME FEEL. SAFE. MADE ME FEEL MORE... normal....” his size shrunk a bit, his unmoving grin shrinks slightly as his appearance started to look more. toony like as he kept on talking “ONE DAY WHEN I WAS ReLaXinG FrOM EveRythInG i GoT... sEnt TO HIs STUdiOS... WAsN’t THe FIRsT TIme i WaS sEnt THeRe bUT. ANywHo wHEn i fiRST ArRIveD Me And BeN wErE SUprISeD To saY The leAsT” he crosses his arms, leaning against the couch “he TrIEd oPEnINg uP a PortAL fOR me TO go bACK hOme But. IT diDinT wORK. i trIEd BEfoRe bUT it COUlDN’T WOrk... beForE We COuLD tRY ANythING We GOt JumPEd bY THosE ButchEr gANg clOneS. BotH STabLE ANd NoNStAbLE” he says, pulling out a strange looking pipe that seemed to be manmade- fixed with a shocker baton “GrAbBEd THiS fRom ONe OF thEM heH...” he says, snorting softly before huffing “ThOSe WheN i aBsoRbeD thOSE unsTABLE clOneS soMEthING... hAppEneD.... I... FeLT thINGs i wAsN’t SUpPOSeD TO fEeL OR rEmeMBEr... THan caME oNe OF thOSe dEMoNS.... aPPArENly Ben’S faMilY TrEe WaS biGgeR thAN he THoUGHt...”

He grunts, huffing softly as he was unawarely getting smaller, his voice more soft spoken but still distorted “but even then. ben’s studios was the first time in a while that i achieved a new form. the hunter demon. which was apparently a remake of that... strange forced fusion faded had with me....” he grunts, snorting a bit “after ben... merged that head secuirty demon into himself we decided to fix this whole mess. taking care of monster after monster. i made sure to make myself stay stable.. even if it meant uh... absorbing a few tainted souls... i wasn’t thinking straight... when we came across that doctor demon though something... happened... he used my own ability against me...” he rubbed his own back, rumbling softly “but even then... i converted that little advantage he had into a whole lot of energy... so much that i accidently blew us all up in that room heh.....” he rubbed his own forehead, melting but unawarely looking smaller than before. more. humanoid kinda “that was my first discovery of my purple states.... though it was mainly just. extremely powerful bursts of energy enough to blow up rooms or create earthquakes... after he merged that doctor into himself we kept on moving... even though i was having trouble... he became infected with my own corruption by accident. two times actually... or three when we came across the last demon. the one that apparently ordered those butcher gang to come at him. benny as he calls himself... i was still heavily pissed off with what that place was doing to me but. i didint let that fool me. even if he sented out a monstrous boris... “ he huffs, humming slightly “but even then. we still managed to stop this whole mess. ben kinda has a alter personality now of that benny since they...share the same body now i guess...? i dunno but when he was trying to fix me my... other corruption and excess ink from that went into him.. i felt back but i didint know what to do to get rid of it when i finally told ben but. he just gave me that classic smirk and said it’d be fine....”

“now of course he wasn’t fine. it took a few days for him to.. adjust to it. i dunno if he fully activated it or not but he has been showing more signs of the traits on him. with his eyes complete purple. his tail a more longer and sharper. even his body looked more defined. like a human’s... though when my corruption accidently infected imp, it made him more. perfect. since it kinda has a mental mind of it’s own. shifting and shaping the person into what the host exactly wants in life. ben wanted to be more ‘human’ and imp wanted to be more ‘perfect’ so it gave them exactly that but of course there’s always setbacks.... i had to calm ben down a bit with this but he had to calm me down even more when i was a messed up corrupted feral beast heh....“ he looked more smaller and more. perfect. his tail still long but not as long as before. he looked more. calm. more relaxed as he kept explaining the finishing details “wasn’t the first time either but” he closes his eyes. wait. eyes? he wasn’t aware of it but he looked more... normal? he opened his eyes. smiling brightly a bit as his tail wags hey he actually kinda looks....

“overall! ben and i are very good pals! even cousins if you want to go there! he and i are... kinda the same heh. we’re both outcasts but hey... outcasts need to stick together i suppose hehe...” he beamed, his tail wagging more. seemly unaware that he was back in his toon baby self “he’s actually one of the more better friends that i wish i could hang out with more. or see more! we haven’t seen eachother that much ever since that mess at his stuidos... heh god what he must think of me now like this from this whole mess... probably would say some corny joke or something about lanky’s not so tough or something” he says, chuckling softly as he still had that smile on his face. more tired though “i actually liked this question a lot. if only for a moment though i wish i could see him again.... or any of my friends heh....” he wiped something from his eye, still not unaware even as he noticed that he had too gloves again he just figured his ‘goopy form’ was stablizing itself.... --- Imp Belongs to @sammys-sanctuary Bennashe belongs to @ask-the-impractical-heroes Soul belongs to @ask-soul-bendy and Bendy ‘Ben’ B Stein belongs to my good friend Sheepy on discord! he doesn’t have a tumblr yet but he has thought about getting one in the future!

This post was meant to wish a Happy Birthday to the highly controversial, formally abusive megalomaniac but also animation legend, founder and big-shot of Spümcø, Michael John Kricfalusi, with extreme favor of his ground-breaking team of creatives, including the late and great Chris Reccardi.

Despite our controversial creator’s past behavior and the abuse he did, as his teammates — his creatives — his alums went on to be part of many cartoons that we enjoy. God knows what would be of them if it were not for their work at Spümcø/John K. Enterprises/etc.

I created this list on September 9th, 2019 A.D. (John K.’s birthday) to list the creatives who are behind some of the most popular of “Western” animation (mostly native to Burbank or Canada).
