For @beybladeninja 's DTIYS
My character design enjoyer side avidly enjoyed my favs' designs from this au. Their colours and concepts are genuinely devine.
I started with Blindt, then Rurikawa and then the list increasing to 5 more with every design and character I wanted to draw, which I can't complete right now.
Tumblr media
Just an example of why I'm late for deadlines, my goals aren't fixed lol, it keeps expanding inbetween the process.
btw Happy birthday Pheng (6) and Rurikawa (7) and Count Night (15) in advance lol, this month is full of birthdays of my fav characters why

for the beyblade ask game. how do you feel about joe
He works really well as one of those "only shows up for tournament arcs" characters and it's a shame he didn't get more to do after the Bey Carnival. It would've been cool to see him in Battle Island as well
I love his bey. Judgement Joker is one of my favorite burst beys irl and the anime did it justice
They kinda hint that he was thinking of betraying Arthur but that never went anywhere. GT had this issue of introducing characters only for them to not be relevant outside their introductory arc, and Joe is one of the biggest examples (alongside Lodin)
After Arthur becomes a public figure, I headcanon that Joe started looking into the glow in the dark facepaint Arthur uses and after GT, the purple scar glows in the dark or when he's resonating
Joker's avatar isn't a mythical creature. It's just a guy. I guess Knight's also just a guy but at least it's some form of warrior. Joker is just a literal joker
I know it's because of reused animation, but the implication that every time Joe launches the coin always lands on the same side is funny to me
If he were a real person he'd only buy random boosters for beyblade parts
The dub never made a Joe mama joke and I don't know whether I should be thankful for that or consider it missed potential

Time for the ultimate high roller!
Here's Joe!
Tumblr media
Joe is the God of Luck. As the decider of fates, he can be a very playful deity that likes to toy with those who ask for his help, like pretending to be stuck on a decision or appearing to favor one side before leaning towards the other.
He can have a say in one's fate, either switching it to favor that person or to turn against them. In this sense, people often pray to him for good luck on an upcoming event, like a game or a test, or even something more deadly. They also pray to him in hopes of affecting the luck of an adversary or two, which in turn improves their own luck. There's no rhyme or reason for who he chooses to improve or degrade the luck of - it can be as random as flipping his infamous coin and making a decision based on whichever side it lands on.
In this aspect, he often works in tandem with Wakiya, the God of Wealth, in assisting those who strive for greatness, and bringing down those who go after it the wrong way.
Luck can be finicky; it can be good or bad. Joe is often depicted wearing opposing colors as a way to symbolize this dual-sidedness.
As his coin is his possession, it carries some of his powers. If a human gets their hands on it, all they have to do is make a wish and flip it. If it lands on heads, their wish will eventually come true. If it lands on tails, something bad will happen instead.
What do you think of God Joe?
And I hope you haven't gotten your future read yet, because Laban is up next!
To keep the list going, who do you want to see as a god next?

Beyblade Burst bootpants cringe compilation 🎉 Behold these gallows of fashion criminals
Bonus Joe who is on thin ice because I can’t actually tell if he’s wearing the accursed bootpants or just knee-high Actual Boots:

I love how bey gimmicks can represent their users so well
Victory Valkyrie’s Variable (that’s some alliteration) driver had an awakening gimmick, much like how Valt had potential all along but had to harness it
Venom/Erase Diabolos had the Bullet driver, which basically shot out an ally that wore down the opponent before Diabolos finished it. Delta was the Bullet that helped Diabolos
Regalia/Big Bang Genesis used both the Infinite Lock System and an electric driver. The Infinite Lock debuted with Prime Apocalypse, and the first electric driver was on Imperial Dragon. Gwyn is imitating both Drum and Arthur, because he’s interested in both
Judgement Joker is the perfect bey for someone like Joe. Joe doesn’t want to just win. He wants to win, knowing he can very well lose. Joker’s most used (and probably Joe’s favorite) special move has a 50/50 chance of backfiring horribly
Orb Egis’s Quest driver is easily one of the weirdest and most experimental gimmicks in Burst. But it fits Evel, a bey scientist who deals with experimental beys that no one else can make
Lucifer’s gimmick is its barrier (rubber on Variant and free-spinning on the End). Lain is a character so consumed by his flare that the “real” him can only be saved by breaking through a nigh-indestructible barrier (I put “real” in quotes because the mechanics of flare are super vague)
Hyuga looks up to Hikaru, and wants to be like him but also not completely identical, which is why Hyperion and Helios are so similar in some ways and different in others (chip design is basically the same but mirrored. Spin direction is opposite. Contact points are very different. Drivers both feature free-spinning parts and later metal plates. Both have Limit Break evolutions)
Blast Jinnius has power when it raises its contact points, but the real damage is done when it slams down. Joshua’s battle against Free had him be winning when he spammed Cyclone Wall (going up), but lose horribly when he used Cyclone Counter (going down). Joshua’s ego also went up when he was winning but as soon as the wall came down, so did Joshua
Free comes off as lazy on the surface, despite being really hardworking. Fafnir at first doesn’t seem like it requires skill to use, since even a handspin is good enough for it, but later on we see that Fafnir has abilities that require a lot of mastery to use (like Nothing Break)
Legend Spriggan being the first dual-spin bey because Shu was living a double life
