The 90's electronic dance music managed to encompass so many different varieties that we can still assume some of them would have made sense these days as well, I firmly believe this. For instance – Way Out West? I can still see them being a part of the modern conversation with some of their 90's work despite the latter having all the hallmarks of the period. Check one of their early singles on the link – this is one of the most obvious epitomes of the 90's without being direct. There are some vaguely exotic sampled vocals, a couple of scratches, a notion of electronic drums and a lot of strange sounds you could find in the 90's. However, I am brave enough to suggest such a tune can still cause a lot of noise on the modern dance floors. Let me try this …
