[Fox News] Kamala Harris is once-in-a-generation candidate and this is a once-in-a-generation moment for America
From the sidewalks of Oakland to the halls of the White House, Kamala Harris’ story is the stuff dreams are made of…the American Dream. Because where else could the daughter of immigrants rise to the highest office in the land, shattering glass ceilings all along the way? Only in America.
Of course, she had plenty of examples to show her what was possible. Coming to America from India at only 19-years-old, her mother became a celebrated biologist. Her father had come from Jamaica, studied at UC Berkeley and became a renowned economist and professor at Stanford. So, they raised her not only to see what is and what has been, but to imagine what is possible — not who we are, but who we can be.
It worked because she thrived on that possibility. It took her to Vanier College in Montreal, Howard University and the University of California College of Law, San Francisco. It drove her to organize for justice. It helped her prosecute murderers and rapists as the District Attorney’s chief of the Career Criminal Division and eventually become San Francisco’s district attorney herself, then attorney general, U.S. senator and vice president.
It gave her the moral clarity to fight the big banks who paid for their own misdeeds by foreclosing on working families. It gave her the strength to fight for students and veterans who were taken advantage of by a for-profit education company and it gave her the tools to win bringing rent relief and badly needed resources to low-income communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, to deliver student debt relief to countless American, to help create millions of new jobs and more.
Now, because it’s her time and her turn, she is zooming through and into history and nobody deserves it more. Yes, we recognize that politics is a contact sport and we know that the attacks will come. In fact, some are coming already.
But we also recognize that a lot of the folks wearing different jerseys than we are keep running the same old plays of racism, bigotry, misogyny, ignorance and hate. From birtherism 2.0 and dismissing the vice president as a DEI hire, to claiming she “became Black” and purposefully mispronouncing her name, it’s clear that the closer we get to history, the louder and sicker they become.
That’s OK. She can take it because the contrast is easy to see.
It’s not just about the prosecutor vs. the felon or even the undeniable truth vs. rapid fire lies. It’s about progress vs extremism. It’s about who we can be.
Think about the landmark legislation Vice President Harris helped marshal through Congress and into law. Think about all the executive orders to raise wages, fight climate change, protect reproductive freedom and more that she helped make reality. Now compare that to the four years of deprivation and degradation we saw under Donald J. Trump.
Of course, elections are about the future forecast. So, compare former President Donald Trump’s all but official endorsement of the plans laid out in Project 2025 to President Harris signing a real bipartisan border security bill into law, protecting a woman’s right to control her own body and make her own health care decisions, extending the child tax credit that cut child poverty in half, building on the more than 15 million jobs she already helped create.
Compare Trump’s plan to declare martial law to President Harris strengthening the middle class, growing small businesses, expanding health care, keeping medical debt off your credit report and making sure no one raises taxes on Americans who make less than $400,000 per year.
While Harris knows that affordable internet is a must not a plus for all Americans, the MAGA Republicans refuse to fund the Affordable Connectivity Program. And while they’re screaming about imagined crises, we’re talking about raising wages, closing the wealth gap, lowering the cost of childcare and making sure getting sick doesn’t mean going broke.
That’s just a hint of the differences.
Simply put, Vice President Harris is a once-in-a-generation candidate who has generated more power and energy for this country than Duke Power. It’s been less than a month since she announced her campaign for president and she’s already unifying the Democratic base, expanding our coalition, stretching the map and forcing the Republicans to short circuit.
In less than two weeks, Vice President Harris has recruited nearly 200,000 volunteers, sparked nationwide grassroots organization, secured the Democratic nomination and raised $310 million, which is twice as much as Trump raised through all of July.
From campaign calls to rallies to local volunteers knocking on doors on a Saturday morning, folks are getting tuned in all across this nation like we’ve never seen before. It’s unprecedented. It’s historic.
Vice President Kamala Harris is a once-in-a-generation candidate and this is a once-in-a-generation moment for America. The choice is clear. Will we choose truth or lies? Will we choose hope or hate? Will we choose the future or be doomed to repeat the past?
Well, like the vice president says, we are not going back.

I really want to know why people get obsessed over a celebrities do you know they won't last forever even they do it's just acting like it's their job to do everything. I see people crying over celebrity, screaming and shouting and also hitting other people. This celebrity worship doesn't get them far it makes them crazy. I was once celebrities crazy but not anymore when i come to know secrets of each film industry how it works and stuff.
Obsessing over a celebrities having celebrities worship its biggest stupidity
The fandom bully other people and when people point out their fav celebs mistake they get bullied or harassed
I believe if people see reality that celebrities doesn't care about you and I they only care about money their own lifestlye
They are getting money when we watch their movies or Instagram or whatever
I never seen any good celebrities taken a stand for any of the fans or given them free stuffs or help them financially
In india some Bollywood actors would help a person out randomly theres many artist in india that helps their fans with financially and even during covid people didn't had job one of bollywood celebrity personally help that person
I never heard hollywood people do it

The Peabody Awards 2024: Learning how "Stories That Matter" is so much more than a catchy slogan
(The author with Reservation Dogs executive producer Taika Waititi, Peabody judges Hannah Giorgis and Lorraine Ali, Peabody staffer Maggie Stephens and, below, Rita Ora and Kali Reis)
Midway through the ceremony, a thunderbolt struck in the form of a passionate speech from Sir Patrick Stewart, reminding me exactly why the George Foster Peabody Awards are such a special experience for judges, winners, staffers who works on the honors and media itself.
As a former judge and chair of the board of jurors, I had traveled to Los Angeles for the first Peabody awards held in person since the COVID lockdowns of 2020. It was also the awards’ first time taking place in Los Angeles, signaling a shift from the news-centered operation of old to a more Hollywood friendly production. And it happened to be the first awards ceremony since I stepped down as chair of the jurors in 2019, rotated off the panel – as is customary - after six years of service. (I was the first African American to hold the chair's job, in fact.)
It is tough to describe what a special experience it is to be among the judges helping hand out such a prestigious honor. The first time I served, among the projects we gave prizes to were House of Cards and Scandal – two shows which heralded the rise of streaming and the impact of diversity on television. I was part of the panel which decided to hand special honors to Jon Stewart, Rita Moreno and Carol Burnett at various times, recognizing the world-shaking impact of legendary performers and satirists.
Deliberations take place over three separate weeks in different locations, with our debates centered on impact, originality, scope, quality, substance and diversity — among other considerations — always with an eye on what the bright light of a Peabody win might accomplish when trained on a deserving project.
(The Peabody judging panel during my last year in the group.)
At the end, judges must have watched/consumed every entry under consideration and we must agree unanimously. With a judging panel that ranged from world class academics to high achievers in media, expert journalists and critics and more, we bonded like rowdy siblings at a media nerd’s ideal summer camp.
(Chilling with Tony Goldwyn and Jeff Perry from Scandal during my very first Peabody awards ceremony in 2014.)
But when Sir Patrick rose in the middle of Sunday’s ceremony to speak eloquently of the amazing work on display in the acceptance speeches of winners, I realized why the Peabodys were truly special. Conceived as the electronic/broadcasting/TV equivalent of the Pulitzer Prizes, the Peabodys this evening united Hollywood favorites like FX’s The Bear and HBO’s The Last of Us with searing journalism, like the PBS NewsHour’s coverage of war in Gaza or Tennessee investigative reporter Phil Williams’ dogged exposure of a mayoral candidate’s ties to white supremacists in a tony Nashville suburb.
Ravish Kumar, the news anchor in India who serves as the centerpiece for the POV documentary While We Watched, gave a passionate speech criticizing mainstream news outlets in his home country for enabling Hindu nationalism by spreading misinformation. Ron Nyswaner, creator and showrunner for Showtime’s LGBTQ-focused limited series Fellow Travelers, talked on how “art is about trying to make people think and feel.”
And Larry Wilmore, co-creator of Black-ish and host of the late, lamented Comedy Central news satire The Nightly Show, cracked a joke on how supremely compromised Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is kind of a dick. (Hey, everything can’t be highbrow during a three-hour show).
It occurred to me, that too many Hollywood awards shows are mostly about the star power and glamour of supremely acclaimed stars. Don’t get me wrong: it was gratifying and heartwarming to see the entire place leap to their feet for enduring icon and Career Achievement awards winner Mel Brooks, or Donald Glover presenting the Trailblazer award to his good friend Abbott Elementary star/creator Quinta Brunson or – for this Star Trek nerd anyway – the astonishing sight of watching castmembers/producers from Picard, Discovery, Enterprise and other corners of Trek gather onstage for the Institutional Award.
(The Star Trek crew, including LeVar Burton, Rebecca Romijin and Jeri Ryan, at the Peabody awards Sunday.)
But the secret sauce of the Peabodys is the way it utilizes Hollywood glamour to shine a light on quality journalism and public service programming like the micro-documentary series The Hidden Racism in New York City or PBS Frontline’s reporting on America and the Taliban or Dallas-Fort Worth NBC station KXAS’ look at how an organization of sheriffs were quietly radicalizing law enforcement officers across the state.
So, even though I’m no longer taking part in the long hours of viewing and debate required to pick these standout honorees – and it is part of the deal that every judge has to agree on every winner and finalist – I couldn’t be prouder of the selections my successors have assembled. We are all now part of a family dedicated to upholding the best in media, highlighting important work in a way almost no other modern awards ceremony can do.
(Me at this year's Peabody awards.)
See the list of Peabody winners HERE.

i don't know what cbse is like because in icse we only have english and a second language but avoid taking hindi if the marking scheme is rigid. maybe where u live u speak hindi as the regional language or in your home so it might be different for you but if my school offered french i would take it without a single doubt because a) icse hindi marking scheme is BRUTAL i know only 3 people who got above 57/80 in prelims and b) french is kind of an easy language to grasp because the text is in english and many of the basic words are similar to english words especially the larger action verbs and c) (specific to me only but lets see if it helps) i am gujarati and marathi i do not come from a remotely hindi family my parents moved to my city for job opportunities at a very young age and i have grown up speaking english or gujrati in my house so much that i literally did not learn hindi speaking till 3rd grade. even now i have barely a few friends i talk to hindi in, most stuff i watch is in english and i never got good marks inhindi because i lack practice which is KEY.
another thing i would tell you to take french is because you will realistically not come across naturally french speaking people in india so the bar for that will be much lower and easier to break. i know which area of the country you live in and starting off in 8th with hindi your language scoring WILL be at a higher bar for sure than french where you'll start from the basics, and in the event that you make mistakes the examiner will grade you more leniently because you will not speak it as a natural language which in my experience is not something that hindi examiners will do. its also up to what future you want for yourself bc government jobs and stuff will be easier with hindi but for westernish or progressive jobs it's better to take french
EXACTLY LIKE THEY ARE SO LENIENT IN FRENCH AND LIKE HINDI BEING THE MOTHER TONGUE HERE THE BAR IS SO MUCH HIGHER and our sir was literally telling us today how cbse is so lenient with marks in french cause its our third language but also like. i literally cannot understand/read french that well cause during covid i did not study french at all AND AGHHHHH WHY IS THIS SO CONFUSING
#HINDI MEIN PPL DONT GET GOOD MARKS IN HIGHER CLASSES IVE HEARD but i get pretty good marks rn and#my friend's sister got 97 in boards in 10th BUT HER SISTER IS ALSO KIND OF A LANGUAGE GENIUS SO#BAHHH#u cant get full in hindi ever also#so like that will drag my whole average down if it take hindi#BUT ALSOOO ALL MY FRIENDS R TAKING HINDI#and my best friend who is one yr above me says its really not that hard#and i will have her help#and all my friends help#but in french i will only have my sister who is in college and has forgotten most of french#and google ofc#ugh

TIL Bŗihaspathi, Brahmaņaspathi and Brahma were the three major gods of Rig-Veda and not Trimurti of Shiva-Vishnu-Brahma who we consider today as major deities. Later were minor gods in Vedas who were elevated when Puranas were written. They were given more powers, virtues and functions in respective Puranas.
Why might this be? While I don't have the answer, here's something to speculate.
Vedas, considered oldest Hindu texts were written by people who traveled to India from European (central Asian) regions. Were there people in India already?
Yes. Harappan civilization had long ended. Indus Valley Civilization started declining with arrival of Vedic migrants. Here's something more interesting.
Shiva as he is seen today was already present in Harappan civilization. Yes, Shiva was here (with people) long before Vedic people arrived here. So it is highly likely (in fact many historians have already said this) that Shiva and so many other gods (almost all that we worship today) were assimilated into new religion by migrants who arrived here. Coopted. Stories (Puranas) were written in this process. They probably tried to convert natives into their vedic religion. It didn't work. And so they went many steps ahead and instead started calling gods of natives as theirs own. And to support this claim they also wrote stories. A job well done.
Lemme enunciate this further with a recent instance. Last year or a year before that, during Covid, at our annual function of a local deity "Naag Brahmo" who is most times just a god worshipped in form of peepal tree or even a mango and when given form is shown as multi-headed-serpent (sometimes 3, other times 5, 7 too). For some reason someone decided up call people from ISKCON to conduct a bhajan. They arrived. They saw our god who at this place was a five-headed-serpent and slyly told us how this was no ordinary serpent but serpent of lord Vishnu. For the record, we don't consider our god a simple serpent, at times we talk of him with abundant power to move natural elements. But anyways, you get what was happening here.
Why do they do it? My theory is, caste system exists in their world and anyone outside of it is a threat or one less human not under their control. Whatever the reason, fact is, the ancient form of Hindu religion was a religion of migrants and not of natives. While today all of us have traces of Harappa DNA (recent books have abundantly cleared this), ideology is still alien. There's absolutely no reason to be touchy about the religion of migrants. And also tell Mr Amit Shah and company when he calls fellow Indians migrants from here and there. His ancestors, if he thinks he comes from Vedic ancestry, were migrants too.
Finally, just remember how none of the Vedic gods are worshipped by masses today. Gods we pray to were created using Puranas as vessels of their stories. If you think about it then, the only thing that is still practised from Vedic age is caste. So whenever you say your religion is old, sanatan, whenever you try to assert oldest, this is the bit that is oldest and still practised. We all abandoned our old gods but stuck to caste system nonetheless. Caste in that manner was more important to us than even our gods.

Remarkable growth of the Indian economy
The resilience and growth of the Indian economy have been remarkable in recent years, as it has weathered various challenges and emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Despite facing obstacles such as the global economic slowdown, policy reforms, and the COVID-19 pandemic, India has demonstrated its ability to bounce back and sustain economic progress. One of the key factors contributing to India's resilience is its diversified economy. The country boasts a wide range of industries, including information technology, manufacturing, agriculture, services, and pharmaceuticals, among others. This diversification has helped India reduce its dependence on any single sector, making it more resilient to external shocks. Another crucial aspect is the Indian government's commitment to economic reforms. Over the years, several policy initiatives have been implemented to improve the ease of doing business, attract foreign direct investment, and stimulate entrepreneurship. These reforms have created a more favorable business environment, fostering innovation, job creation, and economic growth. Additionally, India's young and dynamic workforce has played a significant role in its economic resilience. With a large pool of skilled professionals and a growing middle class, the country has been able to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding consumer market. This has fueled domestic consumption, investment, and entrepreneurship, driving economic growth even during challenging times. Moreover, India's focus on digitalization and technology adoption has been instrumental in its resilience and growth. The country has witnessed a digital revolution, with advancements in areas such as mobile technology, e-commerce, and financial technology. This digital transformation has improved access to services, enhanced productivity, and opened up new avenues for economic development. Furthermore, India's emphasis on infrastructure development has contributed to its economic resilience. The government has undertaken large-scale initiatives such as the construction of roads, railways, ports, and smart cities. These infrastructure projects have not only boosted economic activity but also facilitated better connectivity and logistics, making India an attractive investment destination. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian economy has shown remarkable resilience. The government implemented various measures to mitigate the impact, including fiscal stimulus packages, reforms, and vaccination drives. These efforts have helped the economy recover swiftly, with sectors such as information technology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare leading the way. In conclusion, the resilience and growth of the Indian economy can be attributed to factors such as its diversified industries, economic reforms, skilled workforce, digitalization, infrastructure development, and proactive measures during challenging times. As India continues on its path of economic development, it remains poised to leverage its strengths and overcome any future obstacles to sustain its

10 Fintech Trends Every Manager Needs to Know for 2022
You must stay current with trends if you lead in the financial sector. As finance moves online, these trends will aid in keeping your company competitive while attracting and retaining top personnel.
Alternative financing, which can give consumers a way to avoid interest, is a trend you should be aware of. This includes super apps and purchase now, pay later (BNPL) options.
Companies can boost customer retention and create an extra source of income by using embedded finance. Financial services integrated into a product or service increase customer satisfaction and cut costs.
A crucial component of a successful embedded finance approach is product breadth. Distributors can begin by accepting payments before moving on to lending or more complex products to meet customers' more extensive financial requirements.
AI automates processes and analyzes real-time data to assist businesses in making better choices. It lessens human mistakes as well.
This is particularly helpful in professions where human error can result in expensive errors or even fatalities. For instance, manufacturing businesses can monitor output and consider potential mistakes to guarantee a higher level of safety.
Alternative lending can be a lifesaver for business owners needing funding outside of conventional banks. These funds may be employed for company expansion, inventory purchases, or employee hiring.
Compared to conventional banks, these lenders' application procedures are much simpler, and their response times are shorter. No extensive paperwork is required because the complete process is digital.
To control their spending, consumers increasingly opt for purchase now, pay later (BNPL) options. Because of this flexibility, e-commerce companies and retailers see an increase in sales.
Utilizing BNPL services, however, can also raise the danger of debt accumulating. BNPL providers must ensure they have access to accurate job verification data to reduce this risk.
Super apps combine various services to provide users with a one-stop store for all their needs. Customers and businesses greatly benefit from this because it lowers re-acquisition costs by keeping current users on one network.
When, where, and how individuals interact with financial services are all altered by embedded finance. Both financial and non-financial businesses can benefit greatly from it.
China's WeChat is a prime illustration of a super app that houses a variety of services, including payments, e-commerce, and messaging. Similar apps like Paytm from India, Grab from Singapore, GoTo from Indonesia, Zalo from Vietnam, and Kakao from South Korea are already industry leaders.
Additionally, by transforming the data, analysts can gain more information. Additionally, it enhances data integrity by removing mistakes and irregularities.
A digital ledger technology called blockchain can enhance financial management procedures. Transparency in financial services can be improved, transaction costs can be eliminated, and fraud can be decreased.
By utilizing a distributed network of computers, the technology enables users to document transactions in a secure and impenetrable manner. The network's users reach an agreement on each transaction's integrity.
The continued adoption of digital payments has been one of the biggest trends in the finance sector since 2020. Even though contactless payment methods acquired popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, this tendency might intensify in 2022.
Limiting personal contact and stopping the spread of germs is top of mind for many in today's COVID-19 climate. Businesses can benefit from contactless purchases by enabling this.
The traditional bank model is being challenged by challenger banks, which impose transparent fees, provide a better customer experience, and advance technology. They are becoming increasingly well-liked among customers who no longer trust their conventional banks.
They can provide a complete range of banking products and technology to their BaaS customers, which is advantageous for fintech companies that only provide their tech stack and e-money and lack banking licenses.
Without sending customers to conventional financial institutions, embedded finance integrates financial services like lending, payment processing, or insurance into the infrastructure of non-financial companies.
For non-financial companies, embedded finance is more cost-effective, quicker, and easier to implement than construct and buy.
Embedded banking is expanding quickly in various sectors. Lead use cases include retail and e-commerce networks, marketplaces for ridesharing and two-sided meal delivery, and payments for mobile apps.
Through data aggregation, marketing professionals can export, organize, and reformat their marketing data. This procedure is crucial for many purposes, including tracking success and calculating ROI.

Kewal Ahuja's SGF India Franchise Scam Dupes Many: From Youth to Seasoned Professionals
SGF’s Kewal Ahuja is a franchisee owner who has grown up well in this franchising segment of business, especially during the covid times. He has become an owner of franchisee from few to many, from nowhere to everywhere. Paid PR and advertisement clean his image on media and social media. SGF India is reported to be a leading restaurant food chain with many branches across the country. This is the same reason why innocent people fell for the potential fraud conducted by Kewal Ahuja SGF Fraud.
The story behind the curtain, SGF owner Kewal Ahuja SGF has played so smartly and wittily here. He presented this business to the people in such a way that it had looked so tempting & lucrative business with high return value in minimum frame of time. High returns & more than a sustainable revenue generation were offered by SGF -Kewal Ahuja in his 2 modules of business FOFO & FOCO. The investors, especially people who were being told to leave their job or lost their jobs during the pandemic, were in need of finding an option to generate income joined hands with SGF franchise.
Large sum was collected as franchise fee by Spice grill flame and this amount was not reported to regulators such as Income Tax Department and GST Council under regulatory filings. SGF is non-compliant in MCA filings as well. The latest reports suggest that compliance irregularities and siphoning of funds from SGF India follows these which throws light to the potential financial fraud conducted by Kewal Ahuja SGF.
youtube
Kewal Ahuja SGF uses his influence to cover up these facts and represents his business in the society as a genuine firm. Kewal Ahuja also has a strong political background. His family is into politics and Mr. Ahuja is currently the treasurer of the BJYM Delhi state unit. He uses his political influence to his favour for putting the complaints away from the eyes of the public. He holds himself as a well-established entrepreneur who is genuine and works for the welfare of the public as well. But the truth is that he runs the food business not to serve the public, but to improve his political image.

Exposing the Truth: Kewal Ahuja and the SGF India Franchise Fraud
Kewal Ahuja SGF, has been exposed as the mastermind behind one of India’s largest franchise scams. SGF India, initially marketed as a successful food chain, attracted investors with promises of high returns and minimal risk, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the reality was far different. Here are the key details of the scam:
Promising Business Models: Ahuja marketed SGF India under two franchise models—FOFO (Franchisee Owned, Franchisee Operated) and FOCO (Franchisee Owned, Company Operated)—offering high returns and quick profits.
False Promises of Financial Stability: SGF India was portrayed as a thriving restaurant chain, attracting numerous investors, including those seeking income after losing jobs during the pandemic. The promises of steady returns lured many into the Kewal Ahuja SGF franchise.
Financial Irregularities: Large franchise fees were collected, but not reported to regulatory bodies such as the Income Tax Department and GST Council. SGF India was also found non-compliant with MCA filings, raising questions about its financial transparency.
Fund Siphoning Allegations: Investigations suggest that funds were siphoned off, pointing to significant financial fraud within the Kewal Ahuja SGF operation.
Political Influence: Kewal Ahuja, leveraging his connections within the BJP and his position as treasurer of BJYM Delhi, used his political influence to protect SGF India from scrutiny, effectively suppressing public complaints and avoiding accountability for the franchise's financial misconduct.
Personal Gains Over Public Welfare: Despite presenting himself as a community-serving entrepreneur, Ahuja’s true intentions were to further his political ambitions and increase his personal wealth through the SGF India franchise.
Conclusion:
The SGF India franchise scandal is a powerful reminder of the dangers posed by unregulated franchising and the risks associated with political influence in business. It underscores the urgent need for stronger oversight, transparency, and regulatory measures within India’s growing franchise sector to prevent similar fraudulent schemes from affecting future investors.

Who is Jayesh Saini - The Kenyan Healthcare Leader
Jayesh Saini is a Kenyan healthcare entrepreneur and the founder and Chairman of Bliss Healthcare Limited and Lifecare Hospitals. Recognized for his contributions to healthcare accessibility and infrastructure in East Africa, Saini has been instrumental in establishing healthcare facilities, promoting preventive care, and introducing innovative healthcare solutions throughout Kenya and beyond. His initiatives focus on creating affordable, accessible healthcare options for underserved communities while driving economic growth through job creation in the healthcare sector. His impact in the healthcare industry has earned him awards, including the Global Leader Award 2023 and Best Emerging Leader 2023.
Early Life and Education
Jayesh Saini was born and raised in Kenya, belonging to a second-generation Kenyan family with roots in the country’s healthcare sector. Growing up, he became aware of the challenges faced by underserved communities in accessing quality medical services, which motivated him to pursue a career aimed at addressing these healthcare disparities. After completing his education, he began laying the groundwork for what would later become two of Kenya’s largest healthcare networks: Bliss Healthcare Limited and Lifecare Hospitals.
Career
Bliss Healthcare Limited
In 2012, Jayesh Saini founded Bliss Healthcare Limited, which has since grown to become the largest network of integrated outpatient centers in Kenya. Bliss Healthcare operates over 65 facilities across 37 counties, providing a range of services, including general consultations, pharmacy access, laboratory diagnostics, dental care, optical services, and imaging. Each month, Bliss Healthcare serves more than 80,000 patients, focusing on affordable healthcare options that improve accessibility for low- and middle-income families. Saini’s strategic approach and focus on patient-centered care have positioned Bliss Healthcare as a prominent healthcare provider in Kenya. (Source: Times of India)
Bliss Healthcare also introduced a Telemedicine Program to leverage Kenya’s high mobile internet penetration, which stands at approximately 91%. The program allows patients, particularly those with chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, to receive remote consultations through mobile and video calls. This service has improved healthcare accessibility, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, when minimizing in-person visits was critical. (Source: ANI News)

Lifecare Hospitals operates in multiple regions in Kenya, including Bungoma, Eldoret, Kikuyu, Meru, and Migori, offering both inpatient and specialized care in fields such as cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and nephrology. Under Saini’s leadership, Lifecare has set a target to increase its bed capacity to 2,600 across its facilities by 2025. The hospitals are designed to serve communities with limited access to specialized medical services, addressing critical healthcare gaps in underserved regions. (Source: Business Standard)
In addition to expanding Lifecare’s reach in Kenya, Saini has ambitions to establish healthcare facilities throughout East Africa, including countries like Rwanda, Tanzania, Gabon, and the Republic of Congo. His plan includes increasing the regional bed capacity to over 4,100 beds by 2027, with additional diagnostic and outpatient centers to further improve healthcare access. (Source: The Print)
Dinlas Pharma
Jayesh Saini is also the founder of Dinlas Pharma, a pharmaceutical company that focuses on producing affordable, high-quality medications in Kenya. Through Dinlas Pharma, Saini aims to reduce Kenya’s dependency on imported pharmaceuticals, increasing the availability of essential medications within the country. Dinlas Pharma's local manufacturing efforts have created jobs and contributed to the local economy, while improving healthcare access by making essential medicines more affordable for Kenyan families. These programs empower community members to make informed health decisions and reduce the prevalence of preventable diseases. (Source: ANI News)

His initiatives have provided employment in both urban and rural areas, supporting economic development and stability for local communities. (Source: Business Connect India)
Impact on Local Economies: The expansion of healthcare facilities in previously underserved areas has stimulated local economies by attracting businesses and boosting community welfare. The construction and operation of healthcare facilities bring investment into these areas, encouraging further economic growth.
Promotion of Health Awareness: Saini’s community health programs emphasize the importance of preventive care and health education, raising awareness of chronic diseases, maternal health, and sanitation. Achieving Success in Physics: Opportunities for PhD Abroad
Introduction
In this blog post, we will be discussing the inspiring journey of AKSHITA, a physics student who recently got accepted into four foreign universities for a PhD program. Despite not having the strongest academic credentials, AKSHITA’s determination and extraordinary effort have paved the way for her success. This blog aims to shed light on the opportunities available for physics students abroad and the benefits of pursuing a PhD in foreign universities.
A Journey of Exploration and Hard Work
AKSHITA’s journey began in her hometown of Rajasthan, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Physics. She then pursued her Master’s degree at the Central University of Punjab, where she conducted extensive research in the field of 2D materials and nano composites. Despite facing challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, AKSHITA persevered and successfully completed her research project.
The Challenges of Pursuing a PhD in India
AKSHITA’s experience highlights the challenges that physics students in India face when pursuing a PhD. In India, obtaining a PhD often requires clearing exams such as NET or GATE, which focuses more on theoretical knowledge rather than research aptitude. This can be discouraging for students like AKSHITA, who excel in research but may not perform as well in exams. Furthermore, AKSHITA observed that Indian universities often prioritize exam scores over research experience and publications. This can be disheartening for aspiring researchers who have invested significant time and effort into conducting valuable research. As a result, many talented students like AKSHITA seek opportunities abroad, where the emphasis is placed on research experience and potential.
The Benefits of Pursuing a PhD Abroad
AKSHITA’s decision to pursue a PhD abroad was motivated by several factors. Firstly, she was inspired by her brother, who had also pursued a PhD overseas. Secondly, AKSHITA recognized that foreign universities offer better research infrastructure and facilities, providing students with more opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research. Moreover, AKSHITA emphasized the importance of international exposure, which is often limited in Indian universities. By studying abroad, students can broaden their horizons, collaborate with renowned professors, and gain valuable insights from diverse perspectives. Additionally, foreign universities offer better post-PhD opportunities, both in academia and industry. Graduates can find employment in prestigious companies or pursue postdoctoral positions to further enhance their expertise.
The Duration of PhD Programs Abroad
One notable advantage of pursuing a PhD abroad is the shorter duration of the program. While it may take up to seven years to complete a PhD in India, foreign universities typically offer programs that can be completed in five years. European universities, in particular, often have three-year PhD programs, allowing students to obtain their degree more efficiently.
Scholarships and Opportunities
AKSHITA’s achievements highlight the numerous opportunities available to PhD students abroad. She has received scholarships and research assistant positions that provide financial support throughout her studies. For example, her position as a teaching assistant at the University of South Florida offers a monthly stipend of $2,300. Additionally, her fellowship in Barcelona provides €8,000 per year, with an increase in subsequent years. Furthermore, AKSHITA highlighted the industry-oriented job opportunities available to PhD graduates abroad. Companies like Google actively seek out PhD holders, recognizing their advanced qualifications and research experience. This contrasts with the limited industry prospects for PhD graduates in India, where academic positions and government projects are the primary options.
Research Areas in Physics
For physics students interested in pursuing a PhD, AKSHITA suggested several promising research areas. Material physics, computational physics, astrophysics, and atomic/molecular physics were all mentioned as exciting fields of study. These areas offer ample research opportunities and allow students to delve into diverse branches of physics.
Overcoming Challenges and Pursuing Dreams

Despite facing rejections and challenges, AKSHITA remained determined and continued to pursue her dream of conducting research abroad. Her story encourages students to remain resilient and motivated, reminding them that success can be achieved with dedication and a strong research aptitude.
Conclusion
AKSHITA’s journey exemplifies the opportunities available for physics students who aspire to pursue a PhD abroad. She overcame challenges, explored her research interests, and secured admissions in prestigious foreign universities. The benefits of pursuing a PhD abroad include access to state-of-the-art research facilities, international exposure, post-PhD job prospects, and shorter program durations. To all the students out there, AKSHITA’s story serves as a reminder to persevere, focus on research aptitude, and explore opportunities beyond borders. With determination and hard work, it is possible to make a mark in the field of physics and achieve your academic goals.

BHS talks of automation in corrugated industry
At the recently concluded IndiCorr Expo 2024 in Mumbai, BHS talked about how its automation solutions can help reduce input costs and improve margins for players in the corrugated industry. Ajay Bhardwaj, sales manager for India at BHS, highlighted the company's focus on minimizing reliance on manpower.
"We are going to help customers by reducing the dependency on manpower, adding more and more automation—not just on the corrugated line, but beyond it,” he said.
BHS has been working on introducing automated systems to streamline production, such as automated conveyor systems that enhance efficiency from the exit conveyor to the work-in-progress and final goods areas. Bhardwaj pointed out that this development aligns with the growing demand from customers for automation, particularly after Covid-19.
Asked about the Indian corrugation industry’s adoption of automation, Bhardwaj noted a significant shift post-Covid. He explained, "Before 2020, the industry was very low-tech, with basic jobs and simple machines. However, we have seen a major shift since Covid, with customers moving from semi-automatic to fully automatic machines."
This trend, he said, has led to the industry's embrace of technology that not only automates production but reduces costs by cutting electricity and glue consumption, as well as minimizing wastage. This is especially important as 80-85% of product cost in the corrugated industry is paper.
Bhardwaj highlighted the advanced technology BHS offers for reducing wastage, specifically in managing paper splices during job changes. "Our splice technology allows customers to manage all five paper joints within a 3-5 meter length, significantly reducing paper wastage," he explained.
Looking to the future, Bhardwaj expressed optimism about BHS’ growth in the Indian market. He said since starting operations in 2011, BHS initially sold only one machine by 2015, but the company has since gained momentum. "From 2016 to now, we have increased the number of corrugators from 4-5 to over 20," Bhardwaj said. He attributed this growth to the introduction of more suitable products for the Indian and African markets, such as the 2.2-meter and 1.8-meter working width corrugators, which have been well-received in India.
Bhardwaj said BHS’s journey in India has been spurred by key partnerships with major customers in the corrugation industry, which have placed repeat orders.
In addition to its success in India, BHS has expanded its footprint to neighboring countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, selling multiple machines in these regions.
Bhardwaj concluded by expressing confidence in the company's trajectory, saying, "With our continuous innovation and strong customer relationships, the growth we have seen since 2019 is set to continue."

The breakdown of the market environment
The IMF predicts that India will be the fastest-growing economy in 2024, with a growth rate of 6.5 percent. India is expected to become the third-largest economy by 2027. The growing middle class and working-age group suggest the potential for increased spending and travel. In 2023, Indian nationals took 27 million international trips, and domestic tourism reached pre-pandemic levels.
Corporate trek: India's business travel market
The demand for travel is changing as the pandemic's impact lessens. Group and corporate travel are expected to become more important. A survey by Deloitte in 2023 found that more than half of travel managers believe that industry events will drive travel growth. In India, travel expenses have returned to or exceeded pre-pandemic levels. Corporate travel includes air travel, accommodation, and other expenses like trains, cabs, visas, and forex. Almost half of corporate travel expenditure is on air travel. India’s corporate travel market is worth $10.6 billion and makes up about 20 percent of the total Indian travel market.
The evolving landscape of corporate travel
Blurring boundaries: The rise of B-leisure travel
The blend of business and leisure travel, known as bleisure, is gaining popularity among corporate travelers in India. These Indian travel industry trends reflect evolving work cultures and personal preferences, with professionals seeking a balance between work and relaxation. Factors such as employee well-being and flexible work arrangements drive this shift, and technology and remote work capabilities allow seamless integration of leisure into business trips. Balancing business and leisure stays poses a challenge for the hospitality industry, as short-term rental hosts are preferred for extended leisure stays.
Sustainability no longer a buzzword
Sustainability has become a critical factor in corporate travel, leading to the integration of eco-friendly practices into travel policies. This shift aligns with societal expectations and offers economic benefits, such as cost savings and enhanced reputation. Suppliers are working to decarbonize flight operations and promote the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel to reduce air transport emissions. International airlines and related businesses are collaborating with clients to lower business travel emissions and achieve sustainability goals.
Many corporate travel managers want a bird's-eye view of traveling employees and their locations. Voice-based assistants in travel booking are AI-enabled systems that help users make travel arrangements without physically interacting with a device. They are efficient for frequent business travelers, allowing multitasking and streamlining booking within tight schedules. These assistants excel in Natural Language Processing, enabling users to book hotels, airlines, and more through specific commands.
Last words
The travel sector in India has the potential to contribute about US$3 trillion to India’s GDP by 2047 and create 100 million direct and indirect employment opportunities. The government and industry must adopt best practices, focus on infrastructure development, and leverage technology to achieve this. Initiatives to host global events, invest in infrastructure, and use emerging technologies will contribute to the growth of the travel and tourism sector.
