ANA Presents: Necessary Evil

This four-episode miniseries takes place in the Absolutely No Adventures universe but follows evil queen Sibella in her downtime between magic battles and running her seized kingdom.

It's going to have all the same genre humor and slice of life stories as regular ANA episodes but from the POV of a charming villain rather than an extremely annoyed baker.

still looking for artists

since i have a lot more followers now than last time i posted it;

i'm still looking for artists who would like to collaborate with me on a comic adaptation of chum. i am willing to handle the process of turning the existing web novel into a comic script. if multiple artists are interested i'm not averse to handling a paneling-inking-coloring sort of situation for increased rates of production, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves.

while i do not make a ton of money this *is* a paid job offer, i'm not interested in having people work for me uncompensated and i don't believe in paying people for "exposure". we can negotiate per-page rates as we chat - i'm committed to paying people their fair share for their work without lowballing even if it means i need to save up between issues.

having a consistent, professional art style and the ability to deliver relatively on-time without nannying are the only two requirements. being good at drawing action scenes and having an interest in superheroes helps. i've had many, many projects that have gotten bottlenecked by artist collaborators just... not doing it after the planning phase, going radio silent for months, and then being like "oh i forgot let me get right on that :)" and i don't want this to be another one.

An all new Invader Zim webseries directly adapted from the book, with over 700 reads on Wattpad!

STORY:

Things have changed on Irk since the Tallest died. The Admiral of the Irken Guard, Jak, has taken control, and everyone trusts he has their best interests at heart. Except for one person.

Bel always knew she was destined for something great, but she's been stuck in the twisted government system of Irk for way too long. She finally decides she's had enough, and starts the Irken revolution, but things backfire and before she knows it, she's a wanted criminal.

So, in fleeing to Earth, she runs into Dib, who agrees to help her twart Zim's next evil plan. But in moving to another school, Bel becomes friends with Dib's optimistic cousin, Star Newman. And Zim starts to reconsider a lot of things.

With new allies, new enemies, and a whole new life, Bel is ready to face anything and swears on her life that she will save Irk from it's corrupted government, and the Resistance will Rise to victory.

Hey I just saw your post about AJ Meerwald hiring and I have a question that maybe you can answer. I was wondering, is their deckhand position a good fit for someone who has no sailing experience and is looking to learn the ropes? I know some ship crews will gladly take on inexperienced people and teach them, while others will only hire people with previous experience.

Yes, Meerwald would be a great fit! At least for deckhand positions, there's often not sailing experience required. AJM is a sail training vessel (in addition to all the other ed programming she runs), and in my opinion it is definitely a good rig to be a beginner on. We start the season with what's called uprig; a period in which we send up spars (in our case, booms and gaffs), bend on sail, send block & tackle systems aloft, and lead all the running rigging which will make the ship operable. This happens pre-guest season, so new and experienced crew have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the ship's rig and safety operations without having to deal with passenger wrangling. Likely, there will be a few crew-only training sails before there are guests on so there's that as well. Last season there were several crew who hadn't ever sailed before or just had one season under their belt on a different ship and did a fantastic job! It's truly an immersive experience, so as long as you work hard and are willing to learn on the job I'd totally recommend applying!

(also Meerwald is part of the larger Mid-Atlantic tall ship fleet so you'll come into contact with other deckhands from other boats, and have the chance to be introduced to even more sailing opportunities!)
