@jonmartinweek day 4, As Long As You Need // Myths & Gods

Ideas explained below the cut!

Jon and Martin as gods/mythical-type creatures. Martin is a god of hearth, home, TLC and coziness. Cows are his helpers, and roaming flocks of them signify his influence in the area. Jon is a supernatural prince of Knowledge who was once taken prisoner (the first sketch is of him before, the second one is after); he eventually escaped but his mistreatment/malnutrition during his captivity has caused some changes. There are little sprites that follow him like will-o-the-wisps, finding and bringing him whispers of people’s stories (I imagine they are quite weird looking up close, but just look like flickering lights from a short distance). Eventually, Jon happens upon Martin, who feels the need to help him recover (and probably stop Jon from accidentally eating people’s experiences).

I did just start doodling and wing this because I wanted to contribute to the event today, so this is all slapdash. I love god!Martin and god!Jon fics!! There’s definitely been a few “Martin as a local deity” or “Martin as a nature god” fics that had him be a really cozy guy, and i appreciate them so much. I do imagine that if this Martin is ever ticked off, injured, or falls into despair, his influence flips on its head and that’s where the Lonely comes in.

You know, I've been playing Stardew Valley for a few months now, and I think this game would be the perfect setting for a Jmart AU. Like, spooky shit doesn't even need to happen, I just love the thought of their "Somewhere Else" getting to be settling in a cute little town, and living off the land. Could even work with the player being there, there's so many possibilities!

Glad you caught the tags, love hiding things there. Yeah, @itti-bitti-yibbi and I are currently working on making a JMart Café AU. Don't have a solid name for it so we've just been calling it the Coffeeshop AU. Haven't had much time to work on it yet, so the draft only has 1,600 words. Going to put as much of my free time into though so hopefully we'll be able to get at least *something* out soon.

Welcome! This blog is run by 2 friends who have entirely too many AU ideas for The Magnus Archives. We are dedicating this blog specifically to updates, artwork, and other such things for the AUs.

Disclaimer: Only one author has finished TMA, the other has currently only finished 3 seasons. While he knows most of what happens, please avoid major spoilers as much as possible, especially regarding MAG 200. We'll also do our best to differentiate who works on what.

Open always, because we're desperate for your money. And don't forget about our totally fair wages! We're totally not underpaying our employees.

the whole tone of the story is very comedic and sort of built like the office concept wise??

jon is obviously the underqualified branch/store manager with a massive stick up their buttocks. he takes his job way too seriously and keeps tabs on all his employees out of the sheer paranoia that they’re coming for his job (ESPECIALLY martin).

martin, the deputy branch manager, is a busy bee. loves to make tea and gossip with sasha during their breaks. kind of a pushover, which sasha and tim sometimes abuse to get more smoke breaks.

sasha and tim are just there for a good time. a bunch of old ladies, who are regulars, have a crush on him (he flirts with all the customers). sasha is good with computers and fixes shit.

and of course, elias is the ceo or smth?? idk, essentially he is jon‘s evil superior and sucks aaaall the way, man. (can you tell i don’t like this character?? :D)
