Part 1 - Genius Lab

"Goddd, I don’t think I can do this”, you groan for the umpteenth time. You know in the back of your mind that you can do it, that you can finish it before the deadline, but you feel sick to the stomach if you even think about it. You are on the verge of tears when you decide it’s no good to sit here and whine to yourself. You step out of the office and go straight to the elevator after getting an Iced Americano from the cafeteria. You pause. You turn to the right and smirk to yourself while opening the stairwell door, ‘Gotta tell Mingyu & JK, they'll be so proud’.

When you reach the 16th floor from the 11th floor, you're not as exhausted as you would have been. 'Looks like working out with the guys paid off!', you muse. You head off towards the end of the corridor and pass by many studios – Hope World looks empty for now and the woofer is on full blast when you near RKive. Even with the soundproofing, the vibrations are hard to miss. You chuckle to yourself and go towards Genius Lab which is located at the very end of the corridor and punch in the passcode.

You hesitate before opening the door but open it anyway and slowly poke your head inside. Yoongi is directly staring at you, and you give him a sheepish smile. “Come on in Jiah! I hope you at least got me coffee if you’ve come to whine,” he says. “How could I even think about coming to see you without an Americano in my hand? Here you go,” you say and hand him the Iced Americano and sit on the couch while he swivels around in his chair and focuses his attention back onto something he was obviously busy with before you had decided to barge in.

“Yoongi, I did not bring you coffee so that you could turn your back on me!”, you nagged. “Well, you’ve obviously come to whine. And I never respond until you’ve finished ranting. So, I might as well write a song in the meantime”, Yoongi replies coolly. “Thanks for the coffee by the way, I feel like I’m alive again”, he grins. “And before you berate me, this is only my 5th coffee and I slept in the afternoon”, he finishes. “I wasn’t gonna say anything. But I’m surprised you slept even after downing that much caffeine”, you quip mockingly, and he chuckles. “Anyway, I’m here because I’m scared”, you say and pause to look up at Yoongi.

But he gives no reaction and continues working, knowing that you don't need prompting. “I have to finish the pet project that I took on and the Chairman expects it by the 20th. I’m not even close to finishing it and that’s why I’m scared. I know in the back of my mind that I’ll mail it to him before 11:59 PM on the 20th but I’m still anxious. I don’t regret starting the project per se, but I regret not doing anything for the entire year and then racing to finish it in the last 10 days. I don’t even know why I was given a year’s time to finish it if I was capable of finishing it in 10 days. I mean, it could be reasoned that usually a year is given so that one can think and formulate their ideas and collect resources and plan extensively so that it can be finished in the last few days. But yeah, you get my point. Don’t you?” You let out a huge breath and lift your head up, expecting to look at the back of Yoongi’s head again.

But surprisingly, he is facing you with a small smile. “What do you want me to say? You’ve obviously got everything sorted out, so I don’t see any reason why you had to come here and whine”, he pauses. “Unless… your reasoning was not helping you finish it, and you were on the verge of tears when you decided to come here. Am I right?”, he asks with a triumphant smile. You give him a smile that doesn’t reach your eyes and affirm that he is right with a nod of your head. “That’s usually why I come to you or Joon. Today I came here because I had already picked up an Iced Americano and because Joon is busy – the floor right in front of his studio was vibrating”, you say and let out a dry laugh.

“Okay, see. You’re obviously distressed and it’s okay to be. I am not saying everything is going to be okay because I don’t know if everything is going to be okay. But what I do know is that you’re more than capable of finishing it. I suggest that you stop coming to the office. Stay home, finish it and step into the office and resume your duties on the 21st. Speak to the Chairman and maybe add in that I suggested this break”, he grins cheekily. “Thankfully, I live right next door and can still barge in on not just you, but all of you whenever I want, provided y’all are at home”, you say in a much cheerful tone. “Thank you, Yoongi! Coming to you has always yielded good results. I’ll go speak to the Chairman and then head home. Do you want to come with me, or will you come later with Joon?”, you ask as you get up to leave.

He looks at the clock on his screen and says, “It’s past 1 AM, I think I’ll come with you. And we can drag Namjoon away too. You go to the Chairman and come down to the parking lot. Me and Namjoon will be waiting”, he says and stretches his arms and legs before getting up and turning off his elaborate system set up. "Oh wait. Josh is in the building too. I'll tell him I'm taking a break from the office", you say as you remember your brother's existence. "Okay but be quick" says Yoongi as faux threat.

You walk out of the studio and he locks it behind you. He stops in front of RKive and knocks while you wave to him and walk off towards the elevator to get to the 19th floor. You keep rehearsing what you're going to say to the Chairman, and you are brought back to Earth only when the elevator dings open. You move to step out but stop when you see the Chairman and the Pledis CEO getting in. “Oh! Miss Hong! Were you coming to see me?” he asks as he peers at you from above his glasses. “Oh yes, Mr. Bang. Hello Mr. Han!" you bow as you greet them and turn to face Mr. Bang. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about my pet project. I was thinking…today is the 13th and I need to finish it by 20th, but I’ve barely managed to do anything. Would it be okay if I worked on the project at home and resumed office from the 21st?”, you ask him nervously. “Oh…and it was Yoongi's idea that I work at home”, you add as an afterthought.

“Did he really tell you to say that? Wow I can’t believe this guy!”, Mr. Bang and Mr. Han share a laugh. “Of course, you can have the time off. I would have given it regardless of Yoongi suggesting it or not. You took this on, and you want to finish it – I appreciate that. Now that you’re going to be working at home, I expect nothing less than an amazing project. Okay?”, he says and smiles genuinely at you. “Yes, okay Mr. Bang. I’ll do my best. Thank you so much!”, you smile and bow your head slightly.

“You’re going to the parking lot too, right?”, Mr. Han asks you. "I actually need to stop by the practice floor. Jisoo's still here so...", you trail off. "Ah of course!", exclaims Mr. Han. "Give them my regards and if you can, get them out of the building. Please." Mr. Han pleads. "I'll try my best, but you know the guys. I'm sorry to say but you made them that way!" you surmise. He chuckled while nodding woefully and all of you finally get into the elevator. The elevator ride is silent. You bow to the men as you exit at the practice floor. As you walk towards Seventeen's practice room, you realise that they are the only ones in the entire floor!

"Hi?" you say as you peer hesitantly from the door in case you disrupted them mid-practice. But to your relief, they were all sprawled on the floor breathing heavily - the telltale signs of an exhaustive dance practice. "Oh, hey Jules!", Vernon sees you first. "Hi Vernon!", you holler and motion to your brother. "Josh, can I talk to you for a sec?" "You're anyway gonna jabber in high-speed English that we won't understand. Might as well say it out loud?" giggled Seungkwan. You almost cursed at Seungkwan but didn't go through with it as Seungcheol was staring right at you. "Thanks Kwan! I didn't even realise", you jeer and turn to your brother.

"So, the thing is, I'm taking a week-long break from the office. I'll be holed up at my place working on my pet project. Just wanted to let you know", you announced monotonously. "Wait...you STILL haven't finished it???" Hoshi shrieked as got off the floor. "Yeah, it's a whole thing. That's why I'm taking time off, to finish it." you blurted hurriedly. You turn to Seungcheol, "Also, I bumped into Mr. Han on the way and he basically implored y'all to go home", you say and give him a saccharine smile.

Joshua turns you to face him, "Honey, are you going to be okay? You end up not eating or sleeping properly when you work like this" he questioned with worry. "Don't worry Josh, Seokjin will kill me before I starve myself to death", you voiced with amusement. "Okay, call me if you need anything and don't forget to call Mom", Joshua lectures you as he hugs you. "Yeah, yeah whatever, Oppa!", you leer at him. "Anyway, Hoshi, please let's go come on", you urge him. Everyone looks hopefully at Hoshi, and he grins cheekily as he says, "Okay! Let's go".

The elevator to the parking lot is chaotic as all 14 of you try to talk to each other. As you reach the basement, Seventeen head off towards their Carnivals while you hurry off towards the Black Palisade, one of the cars that the Tannies use to commute. Yoongi is standing outside the driver’s side, and you see Namjoon sprawled on the backseat. “Was he that tired when you went to get him?”, you ask as you approach Yoongi. “Yeah, he looked like he was about to pass out. I had some coffee left and thanks to that, I was able to haul him till the car. He passed out as soon as he sat down”, Yoongi sighs and motions you to get into the front seat. You both get in and soon you slowly emerge from the basement of Hybe and drive off into the night towards home.

You fall asleep as soon as you hit the road and only wake up when you hear Yoongi struggling with Joon. “Yoongi! Yoongi wait!!! I’ll call Jungkook or someone wait”, you whisper yell at him. “Fine but be quick! He really did buff up due to countless hours at the gym and now I have to suffer,” he tries sound annoyed but ends up sounding endeared as he always does when it comes to his members. You call JK and thankfully, he picks up in 2 rings. “Listen, can you come down to where we park the Black Palisade? Joonie passed out and me and Yoongi alone can’t heave him till the elevators”, you croak out tiredly. “Oh, sure I’ll be right down!”, he says and hangs up.

You and Yoongi lean on the car and sigh at the same time due to which you end up laughing together. “Mr. Bang was amused at you telling me to name-drop. And Mr. Han regrets being strict with Seventeen”. "You bumped into them together? Well, it would be surprising if Bang PD wasn’t amused. And Mr. Han should be happy, honestly. Their choreos are so much harder to manoeuvre than ours!”, Yoongi says and laughs. “Also, I needn’t have asked you to name-drop, but it was a safety measure since you looked very miserable” he adds on. “Anyway, thank you for the suggesting it and now I can peacefully work at home and finally be done with this project. Afterall, writing about BTS and their ARMY is a fun but tedious work”, you smile at him. "Don't forget to call your mom. She usually ends up calling one of us when you don't call her for more than a week" he fretted. "Gosh you're worse than Josh!", you exclaim as you hear the elevator open.

With rushed footsteps, JK comes into view. “Is hyung alright?”, he asks. “Yeah, he just needs to rest more, like we all keep telling him”, Yoongi says, shaking his head. JK opens the door and lifts Namjoon on his shoulder and walks towards the elevator. Yoongi locks the car and both of you follow right behind them. You reach the 6th floor soon enough and Yoongi walks ahead to open the door to their dorm so that Jungkook can walk in without stopping. He opens the door to 601 while you open the door to your home, door no. 600. It still feels like a dream – being Bangtan’s neighbour – even though it has been over 5 years now. You turn back to see Yoongi waiting by their door to say goodnight. “Goodnight, Jiah. Breakfast at ours tomorrow!”, he says cheerfully, now that he’s back with his members. “Okay, cereal tomorrow. Got it.”, you grin, and he looks sheepish. You wave at him and add, “Have a Sweet Night!"

Leif’s army left Danzhi and started marching towards Manster. About a day later, they came across a large river.

It was The Great River of Thracia, the largest river of the Thracian Peninsula.

This grand river was not only important geographically, but also historically. It had been the battleground for many critical battles.

About ten years ago, the river had been the stage for the battle between Northern Thracia and The Kingdom of Thracia; where Leif’s grandfather, the previous king of Leonster, had lost his life due to Conote’s betrayal. Because of that, Leonster lost the power needed to oppose the Thracian army, and was soon conquered.

Since it had happened right after he was born, he had only heard about it through stories. Still, the sight of the river filled him with regret.

He balled his hands tightly into fists.

“This river has been filled with blood and tears. Even now, it’s full of things we cannot change.” August muttered.

“Yeah, it is.” Leif nodded slightly, then looked away from the water’s surface.

They followed the riverbank a little south, and saw a huge stone bridge. The imperial army had it surrounded, and looked ready to fight.

On the other side of the bridge, Leif could see a fort. “Once we pass through here, we’ll reach Manster soon after! Move out, everyone!” He yelled and unsheathed his sword.

Partway through everyone’s battle cry, August looked at the fort and shivered.

“What’s wrong, August?” Leif furrowed his brow and looked at August.

“Can you see that red-haired person?” August pointed a shaky finger in the direction of the fort.

Everyone looked at where he was pointing, and sure enough, there was a red-haired young man near the fort.

“Ah!” Mareeta gasped.

Leif whirled around. “What’s wrong, Mareeta?”

“N-Nothing. I’m sorry.” She said with furrowed brows, but also a smile

“He is Saias, a bishop of the Bragi Church. However, he is a prodigy in tactics first and foremost, and should be feared. So long as he is here, this is going to be a difficult battle.” August said while grinding his teeth over and over again.

Leif nodded. “I understand. Let’s proceed with caution.”

At the same time that the sight of Saias surprised August, Olwen was very surprised by the sight of one of the enemy units.

“What’s wrong, Lady Olwen?” Fred asked, puzzled.

“Fred, look over there!” Her eyes didn’t move from where she was staring as she answered and pointed at the mage knight unit positioned near the fort.

He looked at where she was pointing. “That’s the Gelben Ritter, isn’t it? …Oh, and that’s…!” Fred realized why she was pointing near the fort, and responded in a shocked voice.

The Gelben Ritter were the honored imperial guards of Conote’s House Freige, made up entirely of mage knights. The members they could see were the best of the best.

And in the back of the group was their leader, Reinhardt... Olwen’s older brother.

“What’s Brother doing in a place like this?” She stared at him and furrowed her eyebrows.

“First, we’ll get across the bridge. No matter how great a tactician Saias is, there’s no way he can be giving out orders to a unit on the other side of the riverbank. Move out, everyone!” Leif raised his sword over his head once more, then started marching towards the stone bridge.

Positioned on the front line was a unit of soldiers.

Leif and the swordfighters charged at them.

The soldiers themselves weren’t that strong, however, they were gathered together in a tight formation with no openings, giving Leif and the others a much more difficult fight than they had expected.

“There’s no way Saias is giving them orders too!” Leif dodged a lance and glared at the opposing riverbank. He realized just how difficult this battle would become.

They defeated the soldiers, reached the bridge, and turned towards a cavalier unit, who were nearing the bridge one by one.

They also noticed several ballistae positioned around the riverbank.

The arrows probably wouldn’t reach their current location, but it would be too dangerous for Dean, Karin, and Eda to fly.

Leif ground his teeth together while crossing the bridge and glaring at the cavaliers.

The land around them was a field that was almost entirely flat, the most advantageous kind of terrain for cavaliers to fight on. If his army could intercept them on top of the bridge, they could possibly limit their movements, but there was little chance that would be good enough.

“Spread out left and right! Block them!”

Everyone followed his orders and spread out in a wide formation.

So long as the cavaliers couldn’t pass them, they should be able to face them head on.

The enemy cavaliers broke down in to equally-sized small groups and pressed forward one-by-one. Just when Leif’s army thought they had defeated one group, the next attacked them.

Demoralized by the cavalier’s movements, their formation gradually started to crumble.

Yet there were still a lot of cavaliers left to fight.

“Grrr… Don’t let them break our formation! Keep pushing forward! Leif yelled. He jumped and stabbed his sword into the chest of an oncoming cavalier. He pulled out his sword and was shot in the shoulder with an arrow.

He groaned and fell on his back.

“Lord Leif!” Nanna rushed over to him.

“I’m fine! Stand down!” He pulled the arrow out and stood up. Blood trickled down his arm.

The cavalier that had shot the arrow readied his next attack.

Leif ran straight at the enemy with his arms crossed in front of him, forming a makeshift shield.

The cavalier shot his arrow.

It pierced through Leif’s arm, grazed his side, and ripped open his thigh. Yet he didn’t stop, and continued running. He jumped and swung his sword.

The cavalier fell to a crouch.

He heard hooves galloping closer, and raised his head to see a lance cavalier coming at him. Using his sword as a crutch, he forced himself up.

The lance cavalier was getting closer and closer to him.

He swung his sword upwards.

The cavalier didn’t stop, instead galloping right past him.

“Gah!” He turned around and tried to follow after the cavalier, but his knees gave out and he fell forwards.

The cavalier rushed straight towards his army.

The lance cavalier weaved through Leif’s army’s battle formation, and raised his lance over his head.

He aimed it at Sara.

Her entire body stiffened up.

“Look out, Lady Sara!” Salem rushed at her and pushed her away.

The lance pierced through his chest. It stuck out from his back, now dyed red.

“Ah… Ahh…” Sara’s lips trembled. She couldn’t bring herself to say anything.

Salem grabbed the lance with his left hand and tried to pull it out.

The cavalier started to panic.

Salem smirked and raised his right hand. Dark magic shot out from his palm.

The darkness covered the cavalier, and he screamed in agony and died.

Now that his body no longer had any support, Salem fell backwards on the ground.

Sara rushed over to him.

“Are you safe… Lady Sara?” Though blood was flowing out of his mouth, he was smiling.

She stared at him, expressionless. “Why did you save me? For my grandfather’s sake?”

“He has… nothing to do with it… I’m… not… a Loptyrian priest… anymore…”

“Then why?” She asked.

He tilted his head slightly. “I… wonder… Think… about it… a bit…” He made a disappointed face, and stopped moving.

Though her expression had not changed, tears poured down her cheeks.

Nanna helped Leif up, then removed the arrow from his arm and healed him.

“Thank you, Nanna.” Leif started to walk, but was a bit unsteady.

“Please don’t push yourself, Lord Leif!”

“I’m fine, thanks to your healing spell!” He smiled at her, then dashed off.

The stone bridge was right in front of him, and only a few cavaliers were left.

“Keep moving forward, everyone! Let’s get across the bridge before the next unit attacks!” Leif yelled through ragged breaths.

Everyone followed after him, nearing the bridge while routing the enemy cavaliers.

On the other side of the river, they could see nearly twenty knights and two ballistae waiting for them.

Leif held up his hand, motioning for everyone to stop in front of the bridge.

The enemies didn’t look like they were going to move.

He started thinking to himself while staring at them. ‘The knights won’t be a problem, but the ballistae… There’d be nowhere for us to run if they shot at us while we were crossing the bridge. What should we do?’

“Lord Leif!”

He suddenly heard a voice. It was Olwen’s.

“Please consider leaving the ballistae to me!” She said while staring straight ahead.

“Will you be okay?”

“With my horse’s speed and my thunder magic, I can take care of them in no time!”

“Well…” He thought her plan through while looking at the ballistae once again.

“I’m off, Sir!”

“Huh? Hey, wait!”

She dashed off without waiting for his answer. Her horse galloped across the bridge and straight towards the enemies.

Upon noticing her movements, they brandished their weapons and readied the ballistae.

She reached them before they could shoot the ballistae arrows.

Her horse jumped high in the air, over the knights’ heads.

She unleashed an attack from midair.

Her thunderbolts hit the ballistae’s strings dead on. Thy burned away and the giant arrows fell to the ground with a thud.

“She did it! Way to go Olwen!” Leif cheered.

However, she didn’t come back, instead continuing forward at full speed, towards where the elite mage knight unit was positioned.

“Wait! Olwen, stop!”

But it seemed she hadn’t heard him, as she didn’t stop.

“Move out everyone! Let’s hurry across the bridge!” Leif ordered, though he was troubled by Olwen’s sudden reckless behavior.

The moment his army started to cross, the knights on the other side all started to march at once. They walked slowly, and their armor clanked as they walked along the bridge.

The two groups met in the middle.

While the short width of the bridge and the knights’ tough armor gave them trouble, they weren’t very difficult enemies for Leif’s army at their current strength.

They slowly pushed the knights back.

In the corner of his eye, he saw Saias raise his hands over his head.

It seemed to be a signal, as the knights wielding bows, who were on both the right and left sides of the unit, all shot flaming arrows down at the bridge.

The next moment, a low, heavy sound echoed through the air, and the bridge started to shake.

The knights all retreated to the end of the bridge.

Once Leif realized what was going on, he ground his teeth together. “Run as fast as you can! Force your way through the knights, and get across!” He yelled while running.

Cracks started forming beneath their feet. He heard a noise, and the bridge began to fall from the edges inward.

The knight unit faced Leif’s army head-on and reacted to their moving forward. They hardened their defenses and kept Leif’s army from progressing.

At this rate, there was no way that Leif’s army would be able to get across before the bridge completely collapsed.

Leif swung his sword around as hard as he could and bit his lip.

Dean, Eda, and Karin’s mounts all flew down to his side.

Chances were, their enemies hadn’t expected to be attacked from left, right, and above; which would allow them to attack from the three directions and break the knights’ formation all at once.

They rushed through the knights, scattering their formation, and made it across the bridge.

Now, all Leif had to do was get his allies on the rear line across. It would be a close call, but they should be able to make it.

He returned to the bridge. One by one, the remainder of his army crossed it.

However, Sara had stopped in the middle of the bridge, and was looking back.

She was staring at where Salem’s body lay.

Linoan, who had been running just ahead of her, noticed her and ran up to her. “Sara! We must move forward right now! If you stop here, Salem’s death will be for nothing!”

Sara nodded, still expressionless. She started to run.

Linoan tried to follow after her, but the moment she stepped forward, the bridge shook violently. Another huge crack split through it.

“Eeeeek!” Her foot got stuck in the crack.

“Linoan!” Sara stopped and turned around.

Linoan shook her head while standing up. “I’ll be fine, so go on ahead!”

Sara nodded and ran off, but kept looking back at Linoan.

Linoan stood back up and started running again.

Sara made it across.

Now Linoan was the only one left, and she was almost there.

Another huge crack ran through the bridge, and it made an even louder sound than the others had.

The bridge collapsed.

“Ahhhh!” She tumbled backwards and fell along with the bridge.

“Linoan!” Leif extended a hand towards her.

However, it didn’t reach her, and all he caught was air.

She fell further and further towards the river.

Then, Leif felt a gust of air blow past him.

It was Dean. His dragon flew up into the sky, then came straight down. “Lady Linoan!” His dragon flew past the falling rubble.

She reached for him.

Mere inches above the water, she grabbed his hand.

The dragon changed direction and began to arch back up into the air.

Dean leaned over to shield her.

The rubble fell into the water, causing splashes the size of pillars to rise up from the river.

Dean’s dragon weaved through the splashes and returned to Leif and the others.

He had been hit by both the water and the rubble, leaving him soaked and bleeding, but only the bottom of Linoan’s dress was wet, and she was unharmed.

“Thank you, Dean.” She said while dismounting the dragon. She seemed to be embarrassed, as her cheeks were a bit red.

“Don’t mention it.” He answered quietly, then looked at Sara. “We’ll give Salem a proper burial when the battle is over, so don’t worry about his body for now.”

“Okay.” She answered with her face down.

Everyone was silent for a moment.

Leif nodded slowly and looked around at everyone. “We have just a little further to go! Let’s hurry and take the fort!”

After destroying the ballistae, Olwen didn’t stop, and continued onwards.

All she could see was the Gelben Ritter… no, her brother, Reinhardt.

She galloped straight towards the Gelben Ritter.

They were so surprised to see a single enemy come at them that their reaction was a bit late.

Leaving some space between her and the group, she stopped.

Her eyes met Reinhardt’s.

His eyebrows twitched a little.

The cavaliers readied their weapons and tidied up their formation.

“Wait!” Reinhardt held back the cavaliers and moved forward by himself.

“What are you doing in a place like this, Brother!? Wasn’t it your duty to serve Lady Ishtar?”

“This is also my duty. But don’t change the subject. It appears the rumors that you defected to the rebel army are true. How despicable!”

“What’s so despicable about it!? It’s the empire’s actions that are despicable!”

“It seems that the rebels have completely changed you. Have you forgotten your vows to chivalry!?” He glared at her.

“If it’s a code that tells me to serve my masters even when they are wrong, then I don’t need it!” She spat out and glared back at him.

He narrowed his eyes and smirked slightly. “Though you may have broken your vows, you seem to be following your own beliefs.” He said, then removed one of the swords from his waist and tossed it at her.

She stared at it in shock. It was his favorite sword.

“This sword belongs to one who tries to walk their own path.”

“Brother…” She put both hands around the sword, and looked at him.

Suddenly, his expression became grim. He unsheathed a sword. “Don’t misunderstand me! This doesn’t mean I approve of your actions! I fight all those who oppose me! Will you stay loyal to your beliefs, even if they mean you must defeat me!?”

Olwen furrowed her brow, sighed, and attached the sword to her waist. “Of course!” She unsheathed it and stared at him.

Their horses started running at the same time.

Their swords clashed.

They put all their power into pushing against each other.

Their swords screeched, then snapped back.

They stepped away from each other.

The one to recover their horse first was Reinhardt.

Naturally, the power between her and her brother, the leader of the Gelben Ritter, was great.

Once she had finally recovered her horse, his sword was already coming at her.

Somehow, she managed to block his attack.

He didn’t stop moving, and swung at her again.

She did everything she could to block his second and third consecutive attacks.

He thrust his sword at her again, this time, it was aimed at her chest.

She stopped the tip of his sword with the blade of hers, but the force pushed her backwards. She grabbed her horse’s reigns to keep herself from falling off.

Her horse reacted to the pull on the reigns by standing up on her hind feet and neighing.

While somehow keeping herself from falling and maintaining her posture, Olwen began to chant quietly.

“It’s over!” Reinhardt swerved around the side of her bucking horse and brought his sword up.

…Just as she had planned.

She unleashed her spell. Since she had cast it from such a compromised position, it didn’t hit its target, but the effect was more than enough.

The surprise attack had broken Reinhardt and his horse’s form.

She kicked her horse’s side and pulled the reigns. With her front feet still in the air, her horse turned slightly sideways.

Using the force from the turn, with her body still crooked, Olwen swung her sword.

The blade hit Reinhard’s sword and sent it flying.

Olwen clung to her horse’s back, pulled the reigns, and finally fixed her posture.

Lastly, she pointed her sword at his throat. “I won!”

“It appears so.” He answered, defeated.

“If you understand, then please hurry up and retreat back to your unit.”

He furrowed his brows at her. “What are you doing? You should kill me without a second thought! Or are you going to show mercy because I am your brother!?”

“That has nothing to do with it! I just fight how I choose to!”

“You’re soft!”

“Perhaps. But that’s how I do things.” She stared straight at him and hissed.

He broke out in laughter. “You’ve changed. But not in a bad way.”

“Brother…”

Still smiling, he raised both of his hands. “Understood. I’ll retreat.” He said calmly. He turned his back to her, gave an order to his unit, turned north, and galloped off.

She watched him leave.

Olwen seemed to have defeated the cavaliers stationed next to the fort herself, as they were nowhere to be seen.

“Lady Olwen!” Fred rushed up to her.

Olwen whirled around as if she had been attacked from behind.

“Are you alright?” He asked, worried.

She nodded and smiled without saying a word to him.

They returned to Leif and the army.

“I’m sorry for rushing ahead, Lord Leif.” She bowed her head.

“It’s fine. What matters most is your safety.” He answered with a grin. It seemed like something had happened, but based on how the two of them had been acting, he decided that he shouldn’t pry.

“All that’s left is the unit guarding the fort! Let’s take them out in one fell swoop!” Leif ordered while looking at the people in front of the fort: Saias, an elderly baron, and a few cavaliers.

As they approached the fort, the cavaliers rushed at them.

‘We’ll be able to beat a group this small easily! No matter how great a tactician Saias is, it’s gonna be difficult for him to turn the tables this time! We have no reason to fear!’ Leif thought as the cavaliers readied themselves to take the attack.

Suddenly, someone ran past him.

It was Mareeta.

She paid no attention to the cavaliers and turned straight towards the fort.

Leif tried to follow her, but the oncoming cavaliers and blocked him from doing so.

“Y-You’re…”

Saias opened his eyes wide at Mareeta, who was coming towards him.

“What’s going on, Bishop?! Why are you in a place like this, working as a tactician of the empire?!” She pointed her sword at him and yelled.

It was Saias who had taken her out of Manster after the grey-haired swordsman had saved her. It was him who had healed her heart from the regret of losing herself to the Shadow Sword and attacking her mother.

Yet now, he had appeared before her as an enemy.

“Each person has their place, their own part to play. I am only staying true to mine, whether I be saving you or devoting myself to this battle.” He chuckled at himself.

Mareeta tightened her grip around her sword.

The muscular, elderly baron stepped between Saias and Mareeta. “Your place is not here, Saias.” He readied his lance and glared at Mareeta.

“Lord Cowen!” Saias furrowed his brow and looked at the baron.

“You yourself should know best where your place is. Hurry out of here, Saias.”

“But if I do that, Lord Cowen, then…”

Cowen frowned at his response. “No matter what we do, we will not be able to stop them here. Whether you are here or elsewhere, there is nothing you can do to change that. There’s no need for you to force yourself to stay here any longer.”

Saias stared at Cowen, speechless.

“Quit dawdling!”

Saias took a few steps backwards. “I-I’m sorry, Lord Cowen.” He said quietly, then ran off.

Cowen didn’t even look back once, instead readying his lance. “Come at me, miss!” He said with a small smile. In his eyes were nothing but the will to fight.

Mareeta readied her sword and swallowed.

After they defeated the last cavalier, Leif and the others started towards the fort.

In front of it, Mareeta was fighting the baron.

For some reason, Saias had disappeared.

Mareeta ducked a horizontal swing from the baron. His lance grazed her hair, but went over her head.

She stepped forward. In one fluid motion, she swung her sword at him five times.

The attacks broke his armor and he fell where he stood.

She crouched and pointed her sword at his nose, signaling that the difficult battle was finally over, and that Leif’s army had seized the fort at The Great River of Thracia.

Afterwards, they buried Salem, and spent the night resting at the fort.

They were very close to arriving at Manster Castle.

“Wait, seriously? You want to work here? But--but I thought you were from out of town?”

Jun’s eyes light up with excitement; fingertips crushing the resume you passed to him moments prior. “Um, well, there was a change of plans… and I’d really like to work somewhere where I have a friend! If you guys are still hiring, that is...” You reply back meekly.

It’d taken you all morning to write up a resume, blushing a little when you realize most of your income had been from camming. It’d also made you pause for a moment when you realized that it meant Jun would also know your real name too; as well as everyone who came through the diner and all of your coworkers.

“Yeah, of course! I, um, just give me a second to pass this to my manager, okay? I’ll be sure to put in a good word!” Jun shoots you a wink before he turns to leave.

You take the opportunity to sit down at a nearby booth, fishing for your phone to text Seungcheol.

‘I think I might be getting the job!!’

cheollie ✨: oh? Not that I doubted you, but is it confirmed already?

‘Mm… Jun is trying to put in a word for me! But I’m confident!’

You hear someone call your name hesitantly, only to find Jun standing a few feet away looking at you sheepishly. “Um, sorry, your name’s on the resume so I figured…”

“Oh! Yeah, it’s fine!” You awkwardly giggle. “I figured writing ‘Cherry’ as my name wouldn’t be too smart when you need to cross-reference my ID if I get the job.” Jun laughs as he takes the seat across from you in the booth, papers in hand.

“Well, I convinced my manager to let me interview you. Told him that if we’d be workin’ together that I’d want to scope you out for myself! He bought it, can you believe it!?” Grinning, he sets your crumpled resume down next to a small stack of papers. “I don’t doubt you’d pull your weight around here but I do have to ask… Why here of all places? I thought your, uh, other job was enough? Or I guess I assumed...” You bite your lip, flip-flopping on whether or not you wanted to let him know exactly what happened that led to your sudden decision.

“Um… There were just some big life changes I had to make on the fly and I’ll be living around here now! I’m trying out some new things… I also figured if I worked with you, then you’d know my schedule the best too! And you seem like a really nice and cool guy.”

Jun nods, smiling back at you.

“You got that right!”

“You’re seriously going to start working there?” Jeongguk raises a brow, cables in hand as he sets up the extra PC in his streaming room. “And the guy working there knows you? That doesn’t bother you?”

Seungcheol laughs under his breath, “Yeah and he knows me now too. And knows I’d kick his ass if he tried anything.” You pout from your place in the expensive gaming chair; eyes focused on Jeongguk who shimmies under the desk to start plugging in the cables.

“Well, yeah he does know me, but he’s also one of my regulars and knows the schedules I’ll need, so I think we can trust him!” They both nod and Seungcheol is quick to cross the small room until he’s right behind you.

“He seems like a nice guy though, I don’t think we have to worry.”

Jeongguk slides out from underneath the desk, dusting off his pants as he stands. “And if he does end up being a weirdo, there’s always a place for you at the roller rink!”

Seungcheol rolls his eyes, hands gripping onto the backrest of the chair.

“No.”

“Hey guys, welcome back to Golden Closet Gaming! I’m JK, your regular host! Today, we have a suuuper special guest! Why don’t you introduce yourself, pretty lady~”

You take a deep breath as you lean in close to the mic; somewhat nervous and a little out of your usual element. “Hi everyone~ I’m Cherry! Some of you may know me from, um, the other side of the streaming-sphere but I’m joining my friend today in hopes of boosting our channels together and having a ‘lil bit of fun!!”

Seungcheol sits at the side as he watches the two of you; a small smile painted on his lips at the way the two of you seem to fall into your characters easily despite the somewhat different platforms and influx of different viewers.

The sound of donations and comments pour in a lot quicker than Jeongguk, himself, is used to; eyes wide and eyebrows raised as he pauses to watch them flood the screen.

Jeongguk laughs, still in disbelief as the donations continue to pour in from a combination of your viewers and his. He always made a decent amount from his viewers but he couldn’t deny the pull you had from your viewers as well. “Wow, um okay, my donations are adding up a lot quicker than they usually do. That’s… Hey, whaddya say to streaming with me regularly?” He jokes.

A shy laugh bubbles up your throat; ears and cheeks burning hot at the idea. You had never collabed with any other streamer before and despite your initial hesitance and unsureness, you too, were shocked to find how well the two of you were doing without your usual content.

“Erm, I’m not very good at gaming though… I don’t think your viewers would like it very much...”

“On second thought, let’s let this be a special occasion, huh? Maybe collabs for the holiday, Cherry?” Jeongguk grumbles and Seungcheol has to bite his lip to keep in his laughs from his side of the small room. You start to feel more and more comfortable at the lighthearted atmosphere; tucking a stray hair behind your ear before you lean in towards the mic again.

“Ah! Speaking of, don’t forget to tune into my camshow tomorrow~! JK and I will be gaming on there as well but… with some added fun to match my channel~! 21 and over only~” You blink at the computer screen, still a little unused to the idea that you weren’t technically being filmed. Although, it was a nice change for once; not needing to be all done up for a show and simply just talking to your viewers and reading comments.

sleepy_wonu: is dom daddy gonna be on the show too?

“Dom daddy? Oh you mean Se---”

“Yes! Kind of!” You cut off, laughing nervously. Nobody knew Seungcheol’s name except for Jun and you were trying to keep as much of him private as possible, until he was ready. “In a sense, he’ll be there! You guys will just have to tune in to find out!”

Jeongguk laughs into his own mic, scooting in closer to his desk as he loads up the game.

“I think that’s enough chatting for now, huh? Let’s get started! Tonight we’ll be playing Phasmophobia! We’ll be playing something more lighthearted on Cherry’s channel, as she requested. So tonight we’ll be playing something I picked out. You ready, baby?”

Seungcheol narrows his eyes, quietly taking a sip of his water.

“Ready when you are!”

“I gotta say, sweetheart, for someone who doesn’t play video games too often, you’re not too bad.” Seungcheol comments, nodding his head in amazement as the three of you exit Jeongguk’s PC room. He’d had a hard time keeping in his laughs as he watched from the side and he had to admit, you were even cuter when you were outside of your usual element.

“I have to agree with hyung, but maybe it was also the adrenaline and screaming that kept you goin’.”

The two males share a laugh as you pout and plop down onto Jeongguk’s living room sofa. “Hey, how were the numbers for tonight, by the way?” You ask quietly.

“Honestly? I think we made almost triple of what my channel usually sees. I know I don’t really make a ton off of my streams since I don’t really do anything, like, crazy but shit… Even I’m shocked at how much we made.”

Seungcheol’s lip ease into a smirk; Jeongguk really had no idea how much the two of you had made off of a couple videos alone.

“We still have one more stream to do and then we can just pool up the money and split it down the middle!”

Jeongguk nods, stretching as he sits himself down onto the other end of the sofa. “I’ll bring my spare PC stuff so we can set up a little early tomorrow, if that’s cool with you two? Maybe have some food before we get started too ‘cause god knows I’m gonna be starving.” You look to Seungcheol who nods and checks his phone for the time.

“Yeah, we need to set up the cameras and lighting a little differently too so we’ll probably start earlier. Just text me before you drive over so we know when to expect you.”

You yawn next to Jeongguk; adrenaline having worn off as the tiredness finally sets in. “It’s so weird, usually I’m only just starting my stream right around this time but I’m so exhausted now...” Seungcheol’s eyes from cute crescents as he smiles down at you, stepping closer as he goes in to smooth down your hair.

“You really were screaming a lot, to be fair. How about we head home and you can sleep in the car?”

“Okay~”

Seungcheol lets you sleep in on Saturday morning, watching as your chest rises and falls with soft breaths.

He takes a moment to think over the last few weeks of his life and he can’t help the disbelieving expression that crosses his features when he realizes just how much had changed over the course of just weeks.

When the two of you had met, he wasn’t expecting much. He expected the two of you to hang out for a few days before you went home and forgot he even existed outside of your camshows and the comments section. But now that so much had happened between the two of you, Seungcheol felt a deeper connection to you and felt the need to protect you even moreso than ever.

He sees you shift slightly, sleepy eyes blinking open as you peer up at him. “Good morning, sweetheart.”

“Mm… g’morning ‘cheol…”

You grimace sleepily at how hoarse your voice sounds, “Ew, I sound so… gross.”

Seungcheol moves to get out of bed, leaning in to kiss your forehead before he shuffles towards the bathroom. “I’m going to wash up but you can stay in bed if you like. I’ll make you some tea for your throat, okay? We have a long day ahead of us and I don’t think you wanna sound like that later tonight.”

Nodding sleepily, you lay back down as you yawn and let the sleep take over once again.

“Are you really sure ‘bout this?” Jeongguk takes a bite of his pizza as he watches Seungcheol pull the desk closer to the bed.

“What do you mean?” You ask; readjusting the light that was closest to the younger male. “Like, I dunno, I’ve never been on a cam show like this so… I mean do I have to do anything different?” You laugh lightly as you go in to pat Jeongguk on the shoulder.

“No, just be you. And we went over it already earlier, the only thing that’s different is going to be me! No weird tricks or anything, I promise.”

Seungcheol places another monitor on the tabletop, grunting as he goes. “Yeah, and in all honesty, I would hate to have to watch you get off, ‘Guk.”

“Oh shut up, hyung. You say that like I don’t know what you’re packin’ under those sweats. I think it’d only be fair! Jungkook and His Cover Songs: Is “10000 Hours” about Jimin?

Disclaimer: The following post includes theories, lyric and numeric analysis, plus my personal opinions, so please don’t take anything seriously. I’m too lazy to upload photos and videos for the moments I mentioned here, but I’m sure you know about them all. Any Jikooker must know. And I’m not Korean or a Korean culture expert, I just know as much as any Stan Twitter ARMY knows about their culture.

Maybe one of the biggest Jikook moments of 2021 so far, is where Jimin jumped into Jungkook’s hug, in Lee Hyun’s Vlog. But the other moment on that Vlog was even more significant; Jungkook was singing “Anyone” from Justin Bieber’s new album, and Jimin was harmonizing with him while holding on his shirt. I don’t want to mention their interview moment singing “Peaches” because I know this song is super popular in South Korea right now and somehow it doesn’t count as a moment. But it’s safe to say that Jikook has something special with his songs, and JK in particular always was invested in him.

JK & JB

The reason behind Jungkook’s devotion to Justin Bieber was always a big question for me, and I got my answer not long time ago. Jungkook’s playlist for Melon Radio Station included a song from JB’s new album named “Lonely”. This is one of the most personal songs any artist can ever make, and JK recommended it to his audience. Here are the lyrics of “Lonely” by Justin Bieber:

These lyrics made me think of one specific thing, the thing that JK and JB have in common: They started their careers at a very young age, and their lives have been under the scrutiny of so many people. These people judged and criticized them but never tried to understand them. The lyrics are straightforward and leave no place for interpretation. By recommending this song, JK showed that he had (and probably still has) the same experiences in his life, and I think the reason he recommends or covers JB’s songs more than any other artist is that he has many things in common with him, and feels connected to his songs.

This can lead us to another theory: By covering a Justin Bieber song, Jungkook shares something about himself with us, something that he can’t express directly.

Jungkook is interested in JB’s songs, but he is not the only one. As I said earlier in this post, Jimin shares the same taste with Jungkook, and my receipt is not just that “Anyone” or “Peaches” harmonizing moments, but also Jimin’s Spotify playlists. Since 2017 (or earlier, I’m not sure about this part) he has added some JB songs to his official playlist, and even his current playlist (July 2021) has two JB songs. And also let’s not forget the fact that Jikook as a subunit started in 2014 with a JB cover. Yes, I’m talking about “Mistletoe” and as you may know, Jimin translated the lyrics of this song to Korean.

10000 Hours

Nearly 700 words and I haven’t started yet! The subject of this post was supposed to be the connections between “10000 hours” cover and Jikook but this prelude was necessary to clarify all the aspects of the topic and we find out how JB is special for JK and Jimin and how they (especially Jungkook) feel connected to him. Anyways, back to 10000 hours:

Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber released this Grammy winner song in October 2019. Here are the lyrics:

As you can see, the lyrics are 100% romantic, and the singers including JB, have dedicated this song to their lovers. Also, their girlfriends/wives have a cameo in the MV, which leaves no place for speculation for the context of the song: Even though the uncertainties always exist and no one knows about the future, our love is strong and will stay strong regardless of time.

The Cover and the Theories

Nearly one year later, on July 28th, 2020, Jungkook surprised ARMYs with a short video he tweeted at 11:56 AM. That video was a 49 seconds cover of 10000 hours. A few minutes later, he deleted the tweet (apparently with the advertisement excuses, because it was tweeted from an iPhone and they have a contract with Samsung). Later that night, Jungkook released the full version on Sound Cloud and tweeted the link at 11:47 PM.

Jikookers discovered numerous theories that day about the times of both tweets; if you add the digits of the time, the result is “13” for both tweets 1+1+4+7=13, 1+1+5+6=13, and as you already know “13” is Jikook’s magic number. Also, the first video he tweeted was 49 seconds and 4+9=13. But in my opinion, this theory is not strong. I know that numerology is very popular in Korean culture but still, all of this can be coincidences, but the other things I’m going to bring up are most likely not.

28th July 2020 was the 7th anniversary of the first Jikook selca posted after debut. This also might be a coincidence and to be honest, it cannot be a strong link to make a connection with Jikook, but worths sharing.

The next thing that many Jikookers also pointed out, was related to the title of the song. The lyrics say “10000 hours and 10000 more” and 20000 hours after the 28th of July is 8th November 2022. As you may know. Jikookers believe November 8th is a significant date for Jikook. I believe this can be a coincidence either, and it’s very unlikely of Jungkook to do such calculations (Koreans are interested in numbers when it comes to days and dates, but counting hours is not usual in any culture. Other than that, I’m still doubtful about the origins of the November 8th theory because we have nothing other than two tweets and G.C.F Tokyo release date and their hotel room in Tokyo which still can be coincidental). But I don’t deny these theories because even as a coincidence, it’s still very interesting.

And the next theory is connected to the “Red Moon”. On 27th July 2018, a total lunar eclipse happened all over the world, which became known as the red moon. At that time, BTS were in Malta, and on the same night, Jikook were watching the red moon on a boat. They shared plenty of photos and videos of that moment and I’m sure as a Jikooker you have seen them all and you know that night had a very romantic mood (BigHit words, not mine) for Jikook. So, a second anniversary for that night and the day after that night can be a significant date to release a very romantic cover. Is this a coincidence too? I think we had many of them already.

And last but not least is something connected to Korean culture. You probably know that 1000 days anniversaries are very important for Koreans and they celebrate them along with real anniversaries of the important dates in their lives. And guess what? 27th July 2020 is 1000 days after 31 October 2017. This day is the day Jikook’s travel to Tokyo ended and they posted their couply mirror selca on Twitter with flower bouquet emoji. Despite the one-day difference (the same case for the red moon anniversary), this is not a minor event or small coincidence. I believe Jungkook posted “10000 hour” cover for this reason and based on this, the other theories I mentioned earlier can be true either.

The lyrics hit different if you read them again, after knowing this fact. Right? I don’t want to make this post much longer but before wrapping up, I want to talk about the lyrics of “Anyone” by JB (the song Jikook were harmonizing in Lee Hyun’s Vlog):

If you read the lyrics, you will notice that the context is very similar to “10000 hours”. It talks about the uncertainties of a beautiful love or in other words: No matter what the future brings to us, this love will last forever.

This context of uncertainty and unknown future for a romance is a common concept in many of the songs Jungkook has covered and it’s not limited to the Justin Bieber covers he has done and maybe this concept can be the topic for my next analysis.

Cat’s Definitive Ranking of Every ML Episode as of 4/22/21

Are you guys ready for this? I did the thing. You’re all welcome. Don’t ever ask me for anything again. You can watch me get progressively more unhinged in real time.

Now, just to preface this, I did not give this too much thought. Most of these are just my gut feelings. I went through every episode and just made some snap judgments based off the lasting impressions I’ve been left with. These are my opinions. If you don’t like them, tough. And also I don’t care. Go spend 4 hours making your own damn ranking. And shut the hell up. Anyway, this is probably the longest post I’ve ever made, so I’m gonna put it all under a read more. Click on it if you have an hour to read it. Okay, here we go!

1. Origins II- Good starting point for our heroes. Good establishment of canon ships and character dynamics. Umbrella scene literally stole my wallet. Cannot emphasis enough that I am whipped for the umbrella scene. I wrote a whole ass AU just to say how whipped I am for the umbrella scene. In the Rain will play at my wedding. Jk. Weddings are for suckers. But dammit if I don’t want these kids to get married. 10/10

2. Origins I- Good introduction to lore. Good introduction to characters. Good establishment of status quoyo. Just good. 10/10

3. Simon Says- Listen, I am nothing if not a shipper at heart. This episode just sparks joy. And the whole series almost ended when Gabriel almost jumped off the roof. I was really rooting for this one. This was the episode where I saw Ladrien and went yes, ma’am, I’ll have one of those. 10/10

4. Evillustrator- Are you all surprised? Cat, the MC-skeptic ranked the pivotal MC episode so highly? Well, let me tell you all a thing, I started this fandom out a MC shipper because of this episode. Their first interaction is gold. I don’t deny that. I enjoy it. This is the MC dynamic I fell in love with. Yall toxic shippers ruined MC for me when you opened your mouths and spat in the face of Ladrien and baselessly declared MC the sin-ship. We all know it’s Ladrien. Stop kidding yourselves. Boy in leather catsuit? Please. Basic ass vanilla bitches. I’m getting off-topic. Solid episode 10/10. We love to see it.

5. Stormy Weather- Baby’s first Miraculous episode. It holds a special place in my heart. It’s a solid episode. Good establishment of what the show is. Fun villain. Good times. Fond memories. 10/10

6. Riposte- Listen, I know I’m an Adrinette stan, but hear me out: Ladrien. It’s just so good. And Kagami was compelling in this episode. It was just really solid. It’s my favorite s2 episode. If you ask me if I want to rewatch Riposte, the answer is always yes. 10/10. We stan.

7. Gorizilla- Okay, so this episode has some solid Adrinette in it, but the real reason it ranks so high is that fucking Ladrien trust fall. I stare at that scene for hours, you guys. HOURS. It is absolutely just *chefs kiss*. Sometimes when I need a pick-me-up, I just go watch gifs of that catch on loop. 10/10. Beautiful. Radiant. Carefree.

8. Gang of Secrets- I have been keeping most of my opinions to myself about s4 (mostly because I’ve backed way the hell out of this fandom), but GoS was pretty solid. Gotta say, it’s the first episode in a long time with this show that made me actually excited to see what happens next. Most other episodes I was like, okay, that was cute. The show is still meh overall. But GoS really got me like oh shit, is ML good again? 10/10 for making me feel things again.

9. Oblivio- Told you guys this one was probably rated higher than I thought. Oblivio is just really fun. There is good Adrinette. That “No wonder I fell in love with you” paired with the softest of Adrien smiles just sends me. And the kisses. The unquestionable trust. These two kids literally woke up together alone in an elevator with no memories and said welp, you’re my boyfriend/girlfriend obviously, I don’t make the rules. Honestly, how anyone could argue that these two dorks aren’t made for each other after that episode is beyond me. 9/10

10. Backwarder- Okay, I know I am weird and alone for this one, but I really liked this episode. It got a lot of shit for the constipation capsule thing at the end, but like who cares? We finally got some more backstory on Fu. He got a love-interest who is dope as hell. This episode is my favorite lucky charm use ever. Like that queen DID that. I like Backwarder, guys! Fuck off. 9/10.

11. Kwamibuster- We all know I am a Marinette-stan by this point, but our girl was SHINING this episode. This bitch said gimme all them and let me go whoop this bitch’s ass, and she DID. Hawkmoth could never. Multimouse is a gift, and Marinette is a boss ass queen. 9/10

12. Chat Blanc- Listen, this episode was very good. I enjoy the idea of my children being happy in another timeline somewhere very much. We got all 4 sides of the square in an episode. It’s just really solid. I know this is the fandom’s favorite, and everyone is gonna shit their pants because it didn’t make my top 10, but this is my list. So, I put it at number 12. It’s good. I like it. It just didn’t steal my wallet like other episodes did. Put the pitchforks down. It’s gonna be okay, you can still love it more than me. 8/10

13. New York Special- I know everyone felt some type of way about this special, but I wasn’t mad at it. My perception of it might be clouded because I watched it in Disney World where I was chilling and having a great time, but like this special really did somethings for me. The Adrinette was top tier. Tippy top tier. Even though they hurt us in the end, I am okay with it because it just means the children will grow and come out stronger. I don’t care if it’s not technically canon. Ask me if I give a fuck. I don’t. I had fun here. 8/10. Solid.

14. The Collector- This one might shock a lot of you, but let me paint you a scene. It’s the first episode of s2. We have just come off a 2 year hiatus. The fandom is thriving. We’re hungry for canon content. We have hopes and dreams and expectations. Everyone is going wild with theories. This episode confirmed something that was long since obvious (in my opinion) and ended the stupid arguments people had been having. It made Gabriel actually seem semi-competent. We got our first taste of how Chat/Adrien will react to his dad being Hawkmoth. We got a peek at their life. Adrien’s isolation and sadness. They were so close to figuring it out. The battle was epic. Like Collector really had them on the ropes there for a second. It’s a solid episode, yall. I’m not wrong. Hate me all you want, but this episode brought it. 8/10

15. Despair Bear- Is this episode up this high because of the Adrinette slow dance scene? YOU BET YOUR ASS IT IS. Okay, but fr though, shipping aside, this episode gave us hope that Chloe was actually gonna redeem herself. I mean, she didn’t but, we didn’t know that at the time. Seeing her run around trying to be nice was fun. And then she actually did something good, and we had a moment of okay, she’s capable. We’ll get there. We didn’t. But what a ride this episode was for making us think she would. 8/10

16. Startrain- Cat, you’re just ranking all the Adrinette episodes highest. And? What of it? Are you surprised? You clicked a blog that has simping for Adrinette in the description, and you’re surprised all my favorite episodes have Adrinette? I’m not wrong, you’re just an idiot. The Adrinette nap cuddles aside though, this was a pretty good episode. If you don’t think too hard about the whole space thing, we got a look at Max’s life, his mom is a driven, smart lady doing her best. Adrien rebels against papa for once. Alya stops a Lila scheme. Chloe gets to play the hero. Alya and Nino actually investigate like the heroes they are. Gabriel gets to realize what a dumbass bitch he is. I mean. Guys. Startrain is solid. 7.5/10

17. Sapotis- This one shot up in rank for me after GoS, but tbh it’s always been a solid episode. Alyanette sleepover? Check. Alya becoming a superhero? Check. It’s a fun episode. And looking back, it’s nicely called back to later in GoS. We love it. 7.5/10

18. Sandboy- Idk why I enjoy this episode as much as I do, but I do. Sandboy is a cute bean. I love his aesthetic. We also get hilarious looks at everyone’s nightmares. “Plagg, who turned you into a sock?” cracks me up cause like Adrien, bby, no XD And Chat Noir’s nightmare. I think it would have been interesting though if since Sandboy dusted the Agreste mansion, if we got a peek at Hawkmoth’s nightmares. It would have been a nice hint of plot to go along with Master Fu’s nightmare. Also Plagg giving the akuma the slip like the clever boy we know he is deep down? 7.5/10

19. Furious Fu- If you guys haven’t realized by now that I love Fu, idk what you’re doing. Pay attention. I know that some people don’t like him, but I’m just gonna say it, you’re wrong. Fu took care of the Miracle Box for over 100 years, and this episode kind of gives some insight to what the Order was like. Very strict. Lots of rules. And ya know what, Fu said fuck the police, I’m gonna befriend these little magical demigods, and fuck off! Like what an absolute legend. I was really happy to see him living his best life, and that he and Marianne got married because it’s what he deserves. We love to see it. 7.5/10

20. Gamer- People like to shit on Marinette in this episode, but like honestly, if I were in her shoes, I’d have probably done the same thing if I had the skill. Ain’t nothing wrong with a girl trying to spend time with the boy she likes. And Tom and Sabine being absolute shipping trash. I love them. And the awkward Adrinette. The introduction of the lucky charm that Adrien STILL carries. Wholesome. This was a good episode for their friendship, and we love to see it. 7.5/10

21. Christmaster- Okay, I know a lot of people hated this episode when it aired, but I thought it was really funny? Everyone skidding around in the ice rink was hilarious. If you don’t take this episode seriously, it’s really fun. Chris is pretty cute, and damn right Ladybug is the best kid in the world. Idk. This episode is fun. I’m not mad at it. Sue me. 7.5/10

22. Weredad- What? Another MC-heavy episode in Cat’s top 30? Listen, I don’t hate canon MC. The fans just annoy me. This episode was funny. The secondhand embarrassment and cringe was real. Plagg taunting Adrien because he knows the secret was great. Marinette being a self-saving queen was great. It’s a good episode. I like MC, you guys. I do. I swear! 7.5/10

23. Miraculer- This episode was interesting to me, and I think it’s still a good development episode. For one, Sabrina finally got her own akuma episode named after her. Secondly, because it’s a big step for Chloe, just not in the way we expected. It totally makes sense that Chloe can’t have her Miraculous back because literally everyone knows her identity. Can’t argue that logic. And she is the first person to ever refuse to become akumatized, so like mad respect. I know a lot of people had high hopes for redeemed Chloe (myself included), but I think watching a character fall from revering someone to hating them is also an interesting path. The friends to enemies arc as it were. Idk. I liked this episode. It was an opportunity for Chloe to grow, even if she didn’t in the end, but we’ll talk about that later. 7.5/10

24. Lady Wifi- I like Alya. I feel like I don’t say that much, and people make some assumptions because of MDCSP, but MDCSP is just a concept I wanted to explore. It doesn’t really reflect how I feel about any one character. Except maybe Lila. And Gabe. But every other spite fic I’ve written branching from Chameleon, the class has been fine. Alya has been fine. So, let it be known that I like Alya. Lady Wifi was a fun episode. Putting aside the fact that she thought Chloe was Ladybug for no reason, I like her akuma. I like the interactions we get with LadyNoir in this episode. After GoS, this episode gets a bit funnier. It’s solid. 7/10

25. Dark Cupid- I don’t have much to say about this one. LadyNoir. That’s it. That’s the tweet. Send it. 7/10

26. Volpina- So many things about this episode. It introduced a new antagonist who we didn’t exactly 100% know was going to be an antagonist at the time. This episode sparked a lot of fun fan theories for a while. Who was Lila? How was she going to shake things up? Not to mention this episode gave us a taste of plot and lore, and set up Marinette meeting Master Fu officially. Lots of intrigue sparked from this episode. And that LadyNoir door scene? OOOOOO 7/10

27. Hearthunter- One word: Adrigaminette. This episode was so cute for them! I loved seeing them all goofing and running around together. Adrien and Kagami being absolutely in love with Marinette when her hair is down. They both love her, I don’t make the rules. Not to mention, Marinette takes a big step by letting her friends be happy without her. Kagami not wanting to hurt Marinette. The drama!! Gabriel being a messy ass bitch to his friends. It loses points for the abomination of an akuma, but overall, I wasn’t too mad at it. Yet. 7/10

28. Glaciator- More MC in Cat’s top 30? It’s more likely than you think. Listen. Listen… Listen. MC is fine. This episode was the closest thing to fanfiction that we got. The balcony scene was really sweet. I was drinking the irony. We got introduced to Andre the icecream fraud. Andre the please just give me the flavor I asked for man. I could have done without Chat pouting, but the LadyNoir in the end was pretty good. I wish they’d done more with Ladybug’s feelings for Chat. Had her question herself a bit more after this one, but overall, it’s cute. 7/10

29. Zombizou- A lot of people started hating Mlle. Bustier after this episode, and like I can kind of see it, if I squint, but I did not draw that same conclusion from this episode. Mlle. Bustier just wants good things for all of her students. They’re 14 ffs, she just wants to be a good influence on all of her students and wants them all to be successful. But go off, I guess? Plus, this episode was basically just a spoof on zombie apocalypse movies. We got so many things. Julerose, Myvan, DJWifi. Chloe actually showing some depth and emotion. LadyNoir. We won this episode, babes. Sorry you didn’t get the memo. 7/10

30. Timetagger- Okay. This is the last episode in the ones that I’d venture to call “good.” Number 30. I enjoyed Timetagger. I know people have feelings about timey-wimey bullshit, and like I’m not gonna lie and say I’m thrilled with it either (I mean, I changed the rabbit’s power in MDCSP) but that being said, Timetagger was so sassy. Bunnix was cool as hell. We get to see that LB and CN are still doing the thing in the future. So many questions sparked from this episode. It was fun. Idk. I liked it. That’s all I got. 7/10

31. Malediktator- Okay, from this point on, less comments because this is the section that are more or less just meh to me. Like they’re fine. This episode was fine. Chloe was fine. Chat playing with the laser was cute. 6.5/10

32. Mayura- Adrien’s speech at the end. Nuff said 6.5/10

33. Ikari Gozen- Ryuko/Ryuuko. Gals being pals. 6.5/10

34. Reflekdoll- I talked about this earlier, but I don’t hate this episode. It’s not as bad as people make it out to be. Sue me. 6.5/10

35. Anansi- Nino is the goodest boy. Also I need more of the gang taking Adrien on adventures via Facetime. Stat. 6.5/10

36. Shanghai- This one is new, and tbh I still haven’t watched it with subs, but I had a good time. Fei was cute. The boy squad was cute. Adrien bonding with Great Uncle Cheng was cute. Hawkmoth getting literally dunked on was *chefs kiss* 6.5/10

37. Gigantitan- I love overly supportive, ride-or-die girl squad. 6.5/10

38. Party Crasher- Idk why this episode was funny to me. Kim is the purest bean. We don’t deserve him. 6.5/10

39. Desperada- This episode was an emotional roller coaster, and even though we all collectively hate Aspik’s stupid egghead, we love the Ladrien this episode provided us. 6/10

40. Oni-chan- Listen, I loved seeing Lila get a tiny bit of karma even if she made it up in the end. I loved Chat going off on her. I loved seeing her get outsmarted in the end. 6/10

41. Frightningale- My good lesbian Clara Nightingale. We stan. 6/10

42. Style Queen- I like Audrey in a “she’s the worst person I’ve ever met, I want to travel the world with her” kind of way. She’s funny to me. Idk. I love her firing everyone. She’s the one I love to hate. She’s the worst, but we love her for it. Plus this episode gave us Plagg’s adorable little Cataclysm that destroyed half the city. 6/10

43. Gamer 2.0- Chat confidently strutting in heels made this episode worth it. And we get to see the beginning of Marinette being overwhelmed. Plus it was the return of gamer!nette. 6/10

44. Troublemaker- I don’t hate this episode as much as the next person either. It was fine. Jagged is a manchild, but we love him for it. He’s a Marinette stan which like mood. The Adrinette at the end was cute. I wasn’t mad at it. Idk. It’s fine. 6/10

45. Reflekta- Where are all my Juleka stans at? I loved the LadyNoir banter in this ep. V. cute. 6/10

46. Dark Owl- This episode was fun. And it really shows their level of trust. Plus Plagg and Tikki interacted. 6/10

47. Timebreaker- Have I ever mentioned that I like Alix? I like Alix. 6/10

48. Silencer- I don’t hate this episode as much as you’d expect me to, and that is 100% because of the LadyNoir. 5.5/10

49. Prime Queen- Chat purrs. 5.5/10

50. Syren- I think the fish power-up is adorable. Ondine is a gem. Kim is a pure bean, but we been knew. 5.5/10

51. Befana- I like Gina, but this episode fell flat for me. Almost as flat as the animation. 5.5/10

52. Reverser- Another episode that everyone hates that I am actually fine with. This episode made me like Nathaniel more. Probably because I was previously indifferent toward him. Marc is cute too. 5.5/10

53. Mr. Pigeon- Marinette is one clever girl. And the Adrinette hand-touch. 5.5/10

54. Felix- Felix is a gremlin of chaos. A true chaotic neutral. He gives his uncle the finger, and I think that’s beautiful. 5.5/10

55. Truth- Bet you expected this episode to be higher. While I did enjoy watching toxic people’s world crumble, this episode still gets a meh from me dog. 5/10

56. Lies- The Adrigami was cute, and I respect Kagami as a character. The akuma could have been better tho. 5/10

57. Princess Fragrance- Not much to say here. 5/10

58. Copycat- 5/10

59. Bubbler- 5/10

60. Mime- 5/10

61. Animan- 5/10

62. Robostus- 5/10

63. Ladybug- This episode ranks this low purely because I don’t care about GabeNath, and I hate that Lila won something in the end. But Adrien saying I won’t hesitate, bitch! At the end was nice to see. 5/10

64. Catalyst- I know I ranked Mayura way higher, but Catalyst fell flat for me. Like it was fine. Wasn’t as into it though. 4.5/10

65. Puppeteer- One of my favorite lucky charm uses. 4.5/10

66. Pixelator- My favorite Cataclysm. 4.5/10

67. Horrificator- That almost-Adrinette kiss tho 4.5/10

68. Pharaoh- 4.5/10

74. Antibug- And now onto the bottom 10. To start us off, I will just say: UGH, this episode annoyed me. First of all, Sabrina didn’t even get her own episode. Chloe was a piece of shit. Idk why they made Ladybug the one in the wrong when Chloe was being obnoxious. Ugh. 3/10

75. Captain Hardrock- I’m gonna be honest. My apathy for this episode has grown into loathing. Toxic stans are 100% to blame. Birthday ruining, bitches. This is the reason I threw a breakup bash after Truth. Yall deserved it. 3/10

76. Christmas Special- I didn’t hate this episode as much as everyone, but it still wasn’t great. 2.5/10

77. Stormy Weather 2.0- This episode was really dumb. It didn’t need to exist. 2.0/10

78. Queen Wasp- Why did we give Chloe a Miraculous after this episode? 2/10

79. Animaestro- Did we really need a self-insert? Did we really? 2/10

80. Puppeteer 2.0- Listen, this episode would have made more sense in s1 or at the very latest early s2. Adrien gave a whole ass speech on how great Marinette is, then he turns around and is like idk if she likes me… Clean it up. 2/10

81. Miracle Queen- I could talk at length about how much I hate the ending of this episode and what they did with Chloe and Master Fu, but we’re just going to remain calm and give it a solid 1.5/10

82. Frozer- This episode made no goddamn sense. I call bullshit on so many things. Just ugh. 1/10

83. Chameleon- Surprisingly, even though this episode sparked many, many spite fics out of me, it’s not my least favorite because at least Ladybug semi-redeemed this episode. Still really dumb and ooc tho. 1/10

84. Feast- Okay, okay, okay, here we are. Bottom of the barrel. Cat’s most hated episode, and you wanna know why? You want to know why this episode fills me with the rage? Because we spent two fucking seasons building up all this mystery and lore and intrigue surrounding Fu’s big mistake, and they dropped the fucking ball! They did my mans so dirty! They could have really deepened his character, deepened the Order, deepened anything other than whatever fucking affair Gabriel and Nathalie have going on, but NO. They made it some stupid, bland-ass thing that got resolved magically in the end, then just ignored it for the rest of the season. I will never not be salty about how they did my boy Fu in this show. I’m happy he found his peace, but fuck if I’m not livid about how they did it. Whatever. Chat being done with Ladybug’s shit when they’re about to get eaten was funny I guess. .5/10

A good day we are having.

I was going to start with a bright good day, but it’s kind of yucky for me here (overcast, raining, a little cold, not what you would expect towards the end of Spring here), but I do guess it’s a bright day somewhere in the world, so I will go with that.

I know I’m a little late to the party, but what can you do? We gotta make a living. So, as much as I was dying to post this morning (cause I did see it ALL pretty much as I started my day), I just couldn’t, not the way I like to, with receipts.

JK is the man.

He kind of surprises us every time.

And I don’t know why we are surprised, because he has been kind of screaming blue murder since 8 November 2017 that JM is HIS (in his own way, in the way he can under the circumstances, and I’ll get into that a little later on), but still, he surprises us every single time.

And K-army, they are going WILD.

And when K-army go wild you know it’s a big one.

So, what did he do this time? Our JK.

He went and posted on IG.

Wow, awe, nah, not that, lol.

This kind of has a couple of layers to it.

I’ll start at the beginning, which is JK posting a photo of himself from Qatar in his usual new IG layout.

He does this on 26.10.22, at 11:02 KST (all there pics posted were withing the 11:02, a few seconds within each other).

Let’s look at the numbers for that.

Date first:

26 October 2022.

Which happens to be…drum roll…

Exactly mid-way between JM’s birthday (13 October) and the famous 8 November.

13 days following JM’s birthday and 13 days to the 8 November 2022.

I was thinking of doing the whole day counter screenshot and stuff, but honestly, I counted the days with my fingers. Use your fingers to count them. Believe me, you’ll get the same results.

Coincidence?

Nope. Enough with the usage of this word. It’s just too much. Especially when we move on to see what else we had here.

So, just in case, you know, the fans lost the plot with his first post. Just in case they didn’t catch on to the reference not only to the 13 but also to 8 November, he decided he needed to be MUCH clearer.

And how much clearer can you be than actually posting on the hour?

Once again with the 11:08. You know, like he’s done in the past.

Still think it’s all a coincidence?

I can tell you loud and clear that I don’t.

Neither do K-JKKs.

Now, I know that JM and JK communicate on the private, you know, through some kind of app like Kakao talk or WhatsApp where they can’t be monitored (I’ll leave it at that), and they definitely don’t need to send each other messages through their public IG accounts.

Saying that, I do think this is also a message to JM.

One that says “I love you and I want to scream it from the rooftop. And knowing that I can’t do that, I’m doing the next best thing.”

People will argue: why would they need that? If they are a closeted couple why would they want people to know?

And I’d start by saying: Really? That’s what you’re arguing?

Let’s talk about straight couples, why don’t we? Those that don’t have to hide who they are dating, who they love, who they are with.

In EVERY culture – couples like that HAVE to show others they are together. It’s a “I’m happy I’m in a relationship” thing. It’s a “keep you hands to yourselves, this one is taken – by me”. It’s an “I adore this person and he’s all mine”.

And they do it in many ways:

It’s the matchy matchy clothing and accessorizing (in Korean culture).

It’s with jewelry like couple rings, couple necklaces or bracelets, engagement and wedding rings.

It’s with couple selfies and pics and posts.

It’s with PDA, where it’s socially and culturally acceptable.

It’s with just saying it out loud proudly – “we are together, we are a couple, we love each other…”

Why would a closeted couple, one that the society they live in does not look positively on their relationship, be any different in the sense of wanting to show, flaunt their love?

But they can’t say it, scream it in words.

And JM and JK are a closeted couple. They can’t be obvious, well not too obvious, not in a way that a straight couple can (and don’t get me started on their industry either, cause that’s also another issue they have to deal with, one that doesn’t allow a straight couple to show they are together either, re: you know who).

So they find other ways to do it.

They find that going matchy matchy with their clothes and accessories might raise an eyebrow here and there, but they can get away with it. Bangtan wear each other’s clothes, they all do it, nothing special about those two. So maybe it’s not enough. Not a strong enough statement.

JK sucked on JM’s ear for god’s sake, in front of thousands of fans. It has been paraded by the company in official content ever since.

In that moment, when JK was sucking on JM’s ear, you see just how emotional JM gets. Cause he knows. He knows this is JK’s way of screaming to the world that JM is his, that they are more than ‘brothers’ or just friends.

But apparently, it did not make much on an impact, because supposedly, according to the fandom, either there was no actual ear sucking (I guess those fans need glasses or eyes, take your pick), or that’s just something you do with your bro (don’t get me started on that word and JK using it in his birthday message to JM).

JK paraded his hickey from JM. Clearly ‘brother’ or platonic friends don’t mark each other, right?

Apparently they do. This too was not enough.

Because once again, either it’s a bite (interesting one at that, with no teeth marks but definite hickey bruising), or it’s just a playful bro thing that evidently these fans do with their siblings or platonic friends (ok then, that’s kind of disturbing), or, and I just ‘love’ this one, JM ‘the man’ lending a hand to his bro JK by covering up his girlfriend’s hickey (cause these guys have never heard of makeup and concealer, and NEVER covered up a hickey or two in the past – laughable).

And you may ask: Where are you going with this? Get to the fucking point…

So here it is:

I know there are many that are all about:

“This whole numbers thing it’s ridiculous” or “it doesn’t mean anything” or “eh, just a coincidence you delusional people keep riding on”.

Well, thing is once, twice, even three or four times is a coincidence. But when it’s more it’s a pattern. And this is a pattern. One that means something. One that is trying to tell us something they can’t say out loud.

Because just like you and I, who love to say we are in a relationship, that we are happily married, or engaged or love our partners, or want to tell the world “that person is off the market, so hands off, they are MINE” – believe me both JM and JK want the exact same thing. To be able to say that. Show that.

Do you remember that interview where RM and V pipe up to the question “who’s the best with the ladies” to say it was JK? JM’s face?

Or even just now, the after Busan concert live and the “marry me JK” conversation.

Or I heart radio when the fans was screaming “I love you” to JM – JK’s reaction?

They want other to know that their significant other is theirs and definitely off the market.

But unlike us, they can’t do that. They can’t say that, scream that. That would be not stretching that rubber band they keep stretching time and time again. That would be to outright tear it, and they can’t do that. Not yet. Not now. Not with their solo albums coming up, not with enlistment coming up and not under this current administration.

So they do this.

They do the little things like the matching clothes or accessories.

They do the bigger things like the ear suck and hickey showing off (which once again, they saw just was not enough).

And they do this. The numbers. The playing with the dates.

That is their way.

This started out as a post about JK’s wow IG activity and turned into a Ted talk about the meaning of the numbers and why they are indeed a message, a code per say, to those that are willing to listen.

SunaOsa is one of my all time favorite ships and this past month, there has been/was an exchange going on between writers (here is the link) and artists (separately) and because I don’t have a life (or maybe it’s just that SunaOsa is my life LOL), I’m here to tell you some of my favorite fics from the pile :D However, as much as I love a ship, sometimes fluff is too asajndajnd so mind you there will probably be a lot of good fics missing just cause I couldn’t get myself to read more fluff (or angst) LOL (IM SORRY but sometimes I also just can’t motivate myself to read a fic no matter how good it looks OOPS).

As always, please check warning and tags before reading any of these fics, and take care of yourselves!!!!

***glass stained black by unrequitedangst (E) 31k // Mafia AU’s are some of my favorite kinds of fics, and this one did not disappoint! The character development of Osamu is really legit and despite being mafia, it’s not that heavy or angst of a fic (but you should still definitely read tags and warnings first). It’s an Osamu heavy fic, and if you’re into reading him being stupid, go right ahead LOL.

redux by catalysis (T) 2.3k // ngl I hate break-up fics with a passion truely (when you can’t handle fluff or angst what to do) but I liked the concept for this one hehe (so I made myself suffer LOL). It was short, but cute !!! and the unspoken words really hit me in the FEELS (so what I’m dramatic fight me LOL).

Impropriety by DeathBelle (T) 5.7k // royalty~ I love the banter between them in this fic and we DO stan respectful Osamu yes we do <33333 The relationships between not only SunaOsa but SunaAtsu (because even though it isn’t really SunaAtsu best friend agenda, I can delude myself into think it is okay :/) are done so well and so nice he’s mean Osamu is best Osamu.

***what are you waiting for? by Slumber (T) 3.7k // MIGHT BE MY FAV FIC FROM THIS EXCHANGE!!! It made me cackle and I love how they learn new things about each other!!!! Like the development is so good and Suna is really doing the MOST!! Also, I love recursive endings AHHHHHH!

agape by sketchedsmiles (T) 11.7k // soulmates, then they were SOULMATES! (ik that’s not how it goes but pls just humor me LOL) This fic really depicted Osamu’s insecurities/internal turmoil/overthinking really well and the realization he has vs Suna’s AHJAFKASFJ. I love confident Suna.

fireside by tartaglia (starkartifices) (T) 3.6k // we do love the subtle flirt flirt don’t we hehe ;) It’s short, it’s fluff, and it’s funny - what more could you ask for? Also whats a vigilante fic if there isn’t at least one pun about being a vigilante LOL.

Over and Over Again by tookumade (G) 6.4k // I would like to order one reassuring, reliable Miya Osamu for myself please and thank you :((( The way the relationship is so GOOD like both Suna and Osamu pick each other up and they know the other has their back ajfhkajdfl. I would purchase all the onigiri with the deal Suna was proposing ;) Onigirintarou.

from here to eternity by TheGlovedArtist (T) 6.6k // I for one am a big fan of mythology and stuff (heroes of olympus but like IDR any of the plot LOL) so of course I read this fic. The snark appearances of Sakusa and Komori gave me LIFE and the difference in descriptions from Astumu and Kita cracked me up. This is another respectful Osamu fic (yes I love these) and in this one it was a ‘I save you as much as you save me’ type beat LOL. Gotta love rings.

***Subtle Inarizaki Dating by sifuhotman (T) 15.2k // THIS ONE. Even if you don’t read the whole thing, I beg of you, please, I AM ON MY KNEES, read the SID for Astumu. It is worth the loss of all your brain calls I guarantee it. It made me giggle so freakin much. Suna might be an A-Hole but he’s OUR A-Hole <3

Forever Begins with 8 Seconds by subtlehues (T) 3.9k // FLUFF hehe, I love their dynamic in this one it’s very good and cute and everything great! Also, I am all for the head cannon that Suna cannot cook, yes pls. Also SUPERPOWERS whooooooooh.

***try again, and again, and again by rosegoldwriting (T) 2.6k // SOULMATES! If you ever wanted a specific soulmate AU! for SunaOsa look no further, it probably comes out LOL. I love this concept of them just being like ‘WTF’ everyday, it gives me life. Also, count how many soulmate AU’s you recognized because I just thought about it and I think it’d be fun LOL. (I went back and I think 11 but I’m not sure LOL)

let us burn by SilverMoonT (G) 13.5k // I am always up for a nice vampire Osamu and witch Suna (which believe it or not, is my second one because I read the other one by this writer LOL) This one is more Suna POV and it really goes into his fears and desires, and I like the way Osamu pushes him to live more freely.

***reasons to microwave an elixir by spiritscript (T) 8.2k // THIS ONE. UGH I love, and it’s funny and cute and it EVEN HAS CRIME (kinda not really but yes)! I love the quiet moments they have and the PET AHHHHHHH! We love medic Osamu :DDDDD But also the betrayal and the sparring (and the irony at the end LOL) AJSKJNFK.

we fall between by stringendos (T) 14.7k // honestly the entire time I was just screaming at my computer, begging for them to hurry up and realize, but alas this is a ~slow burn~ for a reason and the tag ‘exes who act like theyre married’ really is the reason I read it and I do not regret LOL. Also bless Matsuda and stan her.

All the Time in the World by minie_ai (M) 8.8k // we love immortality! Denial! And Suna mentally filing away blackmail against people (namely Astumu) LOL. Running away from your problems is always the answer (I am saying this is a not sarcastic manner because I too, run away from my problems LOL) but ramen is ALWAYS a good answer. We love ourselves some emotional constipation LOL.

***none but you by broikawa (T) 7.2k // everything is a competition always LOL, not that I’m complainin but still LOL EVERYTHING. I really love this one because I love the progression and cock-block SakuAtsu hehe. I love them being synchronized idiots <3

it all comes back to you, (my home) by iritaescents (T) 4.5k // FOREVER, WE STAN FOREVER. Anyway, LOL this was is very very cute and fluff and not slow burn, it fast burn LOL. It’s a cute fic to read and it even has our favorite, now say it with me SOULMATES LOL.

Can't help falling in bed with you by tirralirra (T) 6.7k // here we see a 5 + 1 with points for the title (I think it’s very funny LOL my humor is bad ;)) Not that it really needs extra points because it’s a great fic in itself LOL but I really liked the title so I felt the need to share this with you all (OOPS). This was so cute, and the + 1 is HILARIOUS.

It’s no longer up :(((((( -> love's consequences by xginpuff (T) 6.5k // WARNINGS AND TAGS been a while since we had an angsty fic in this list (LOL the way I just tried to avoid all of them hehe). I read the tags but ngl I was still surprised later LOL maybe I’m just dumb, but anyway IK it starts out a bit confusing, but after you read more, you’ll get into it!

***sunagashi by bastigod (T) 9.8k // if there’s anything I like more than mythology, it’s folklore LOL. I love this fic and the plot is written so artfully AHDSAJN. Also the scene with the Ume-chan and her comment (so snarky I love). Also they way I went through so much trouble trying to figure out the kanji LOL (SPOILER it’s miyarin hehe)

catch me (while i'm still runnin') by lunarins (T) 4.3k // first and foremost, may we have a moment of silence for Komori and his eyebrows..... Continuing, this fic was so good because I love a good heist hehe. Their slight of hand abilities really doing the most LOL, and the ending OMG. I love the way the writer added in how they appeared to others during the heist, it really made it so good! Ugh to have a painting class and almost die LOL.

***if we get this right by Slumber (G) 5k // OLD FRIEND plsplspls I love this fic and I love how Osamu slowly relearns who he knew Suna as AHHH. The ending, again UGH, I really loved it and their banter with one another.

The Study of Suna Rintarou by DeathBelle (T) 6.1k // PLEASE the way Osamu kept getting offended omg. But also the effort Suna puts into getting to know Osamu, I was in ~love~. Read to me Osamu, READ TO ME. But also the Osamu is an oblivious MF agenda is alive and well within this fic hehe.

Take a Hint by pancake_surprise (G) 2.3k // ok so I had just read a tumbr post about the one bed thing and then I saw this fic. It was like the stars aligned okay? I was like, ig I HAVE to read it now hehe. But seriously read it, it’s cute and like everything else, of course there’s a challenge to be made LOL.

Heatwave by pancake_surprise (G) 2.1k // the way they were dating without knowing they were dating man. The tag ‘Didn't Know They Were Dating‘ more accurate than the ‘first dates’ one LOL jk but actually tho am I kidding? It’s the first official one IG. LOL anyway, we do love the doin of the defining of relationships. Yup.

If you made it all the way down here, CONGRATS LOL. Like I said, I didn’t read all of them (sadly) and these were the ones i did read LOL. I might add more depending on whether I can motivate myself into reading fics I know will be good LOL so we’ll see heh. Fate and Phantasms #165

Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re taking a break from the Sakurafaces to build Suzuka Gozen, funloving JK gal and world-renowned Tamamo provoker. Suzie G is a Kensei Monk for some ungodly sword skills as well as a Fey Wanderer Ranger for her beguiling ways and eventually, her noble phantasm. Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!

Race and Background

Suzie is a fox right now, but she isn’t one naturally; she just couldn’t resist the urge to ruin Casko’s day. That’ll make her a Swiftstride Shifter, giving her +2 Dexterity and +1 Charisma. She also has Darkvision to dunk on normal humans, Keen Senses to bump up her perception, Graceful to boost her Acrobatics, and a Swift Stride for an extra 5 feet of movement. She can also Shift as a bonus action to become a bit foxier, giving her temporary hp, even more walking speed, and the ability to move away from enemies as a reaction if they end their turn near you without provoking attacks.

As a humble shrine maiden, Suzie’s an Acolyte, giving her proficiency with Insight and Performance (or deception, whichever one you think the JK girl act should be under). We’ll be getting religion later, but you can’t get either of the latter two from monk levels, so we’re starting with them here.

Ability Scores

First up, make Suzie’s Wisdom as high as possible. Divine servants tend to have solid saves, and you have to read people to fool them with that gimmick. Second is Dexterity, because you’re a saber, you’ve gotta be good with a sword. Your Charisma is also pretty solid, because you can’t fool people without, y’know, fooling them. Your Constitution isn’t bad, you can take a hit with the best of them. You don’t really need Strength, but we’re dumping Intelligence. You’re not actually stupid, but you’re actively pretending to be dumb, so it’s not much of a difference.

Class Levels

1. Monk 1: Starting off as a monk gets you that Religion proficiency we skipped on in your background, as well as History. You also get proficiency with Strength and Dexterity saves. You also get Unarmored Defense to kick ass in a schoolgirl outfit or dress by adding your wisdom modifier to your AC while not wearing armor. You also get Martial Arts while unarmored, using your dexterity instead of strength to attack with monk weapons, attack as a bonus action with your fists, and you deal a minimum of a d4 in damage while using monk weapons that grows as you level up.

2. Monk 2: Second level monks get Ki points Monk Levels per short rest that you can spend to dash, disengage, dodge, or attack twice as a bonus action. Your Unarmored Movement as helps you get a little bit faster to show up that Cat as well. You also get a Dedicated Weapon, letting you spend a short rest with a non-monk weapon you’re proficient in to turn it into a monk weapon. That’s a tool for next level though.

3. Ranger 1: Bouncing over to ranger gives you proficiency with martial weapons, so now you can dedicate your Longsword into a monk weapon no problem. You can also focus on a Favored Foe after hitting it once, letting you deal an extra 1d4 damage to it once per turn for up to a minute or until you lose concentration. You can mark enemies Proficiency times per long rest, and the damage grows as you level up. You’re also a Deft Explorer, making you Canny in performance, doubling your proficiency bonus on performance checks. (Or again, deception, depends on you.)

You also get Perception proficiency. It takes hard work to make your outfits look just right!

4. Ranger 2: Second level rangers get the Thrown Weapon fighting style, adding +2 to damage damage caused by chucking weapons at people. Most people prefer to not throw their swords, but you make it work, somehow. You can also cast Spells using your Wisdom to cast it. Zephyr Strike is another concentration spell that lets you deal extra damage and speed yourself up once per casting, and you can avoid opportunity attacks for the duration. You can also cast Hail of Thorns to turn one thrown sword into several, dealing extra piercing damage to creatures within 5′ of the original who fail a dexterity save.

5. Ranger 3: At third level, rangers pick their conclave, and the Fey Wanderers get a bunch of neat goodies that make you more charming. Not like you actually need it tho lol. Your Dreadful Strikes add a bit of psychic damage to your attacks once per turn, you get Fey Wanderer Magic, which means you know Charm Person now to act as your mystic eyes, and your Otherworldly Glamor adds your wisdom modifier to your charisma checks. You also get proficiency wit a social skill, so I’d suggest whichever one of the deception/performance duo you didn’t get level one.

On top of all that, your Primeval Awareness helps you sense otherworldly creatures nearby, and you also learn Searing Smite to make your blades a little hotter.

6. Ranger 4: Your first Ability Score Improvement is going towards the Resilient feat to bump up your Wisdom score by 1 and to make you proficient with wisdom saves. You have pretty strong Divinity, so you shouldn’t be getting jerked around by illusions that much.

7. Ranger 5: Fifth level rangers get an Extra Attack each attack action. You can also cast Misty Step to move even faster than usual, and your can Enhance Ability to make you or a friend better in any one kind of ability check for the duration.

8. Monk 3: Bouncing back to monk now for the Way of the Kensei, which gives you the Path of the Kensei, which is totally not confusing. This gives you Kensei Weapons so you can use all long swords as monk weapons instead of just one dedicated weapon. You also get a ranged weapon, and you get a couple more at higher levels, as long as they aren’t two-handed.

You can also make Agile Parries by making unarmed attacks while wielding your kensei sword in your other hand. This gives you a +2 bonus to your AC for each unarmed attack you make that lasts until your next turn.

You can also use a bonus action to make Kensei’s Shots, adding another 1d4 to your ranged kensei attacks. Notably, it doesn’t have to be a ranged weapon, so now your thrown swords are even scarier.

You also get proficiency with calligraphy thanks to the Way of the Brush. Writing’s a class in school, it’s justified.

You can also use your sword to Deflect Missiles as a reaction, reducing incoming damage. If it’s reduced to 0, you can even throw it back with a ki point.

9. Monk 4: Use this ASI to bump up your Dexterity for a better AC and better swordsmanship. You can also Slow Fall as a reaction, reducing falling damage by five times your monk level. I’ve heard foxes are just dog software running on cat hardware, so I guess you can land on your feet?

10. Ranger 6: Bouncing back to ranger bumps your favored foe damage up to a new die size, and you become a Roving ranger, increasing your walking speed further, as well as giving you a climbing and swimming speed.

11. Ranger 7: Fey Wanderers can put a Beguiling Twist on your charms and the charms of others. You have advantage on saves against being charmed or frightened, and when a creature near you succeeds on a save against being charmed or frightened you can force another creature to make a wisdom save against your spell DC. If it fails, the target is charmed or frightened by you for a minute or by making another save. High schoolers generally don’t have good taste, as long as you’re charming somebody it’s probably fine.

You can also cast Magic Weapon to make your swords a little stronger a pierce through nonmagical weapon resistances. You’ll be able to do this for free later, but you’re probably running into enemies with those kinds of resistances by this point, so why wait?

12. Monk 5: Fifth level monks get an extra attack that doesn’t stack, but they also gain a Stunning Strike on their melee attacks, spending 1 ki point to force a constitution save on whatever you hit. If it fails, it’s stunned until the end of your next turn.

Your Focused Aim also lets you turn ki points directly into accuracy, adding 2 to your attack roll for each ki point spent, up to a maximum of three.

Also, your martial arts dice are d6s now. Rejoice!

13. Monk 6: Sixth level monks get Ki-Empowered Strikes, and kensei also become One with the Blade. The former, plus your Magic Kensei Weapons, make your unarmed strikes and kensei weapons magical against resistances.

You also learn to deal Deft Strikes, adding your martial arts die to a kensei weapon damage roll once per turn by using a ki point.

14. Monk 7: Seventh level monks get Evasion, supercharging your dexterity saves. Failures reduce damage as much as most peoples’ successes, and your successes negate damage entirely. You also get get a Stillness of Mind that lets you end effects of charming or frightening on yourself as an action, in the rare event one of those actually sticks to you.

15. Monk 8: Use this ASI to bump up your Wisdom, making it harder to charm you and easier for you to charm others. Also, you get a better AC! Win win!

16. Monk 9: Your Unarmored Movement Improvement lets you run up walls and over water. Just make sure you end your turn on solid ground, otherwise it won’t be pretty.

17. Monk 10: Tenth level monks have a Purity of Body that makes you immune to diseases and poison. When was the last time you saw a relative of a demon king come down with the sniffles?

18. Ranger 8: Hopping back to ranger gives you another ASI, which will max out your Wisdom for super powerful charms. You also have the Land’s Stride, letting you ignore nonmagical plants while traveling through them, and you get advantage on saves against them.

19. Monk 11: Our last level of kensei lets you Sharpen the Blade with your ki points, spending 1-3 points to add that much to the weapon’s attack and damage rolls for 1 minute. Like, why bother spending all that gold on fancy weapons when you can just do it yourself?

On top of that, all your weapons now do at least 1d8 damage thanks to martial arts!

20. Ranger 9: Your capstone level unlocks third level spells, like Dispel Magic from your Fey Wanderer Magic feature, or the real reason we’re here, Conjure Barrage. Now you can literally turn that sword into a thousand and yeet them all at your foes!

Pros:

You’re mobile as hell, with 60 feet of movement speed normally, climbing and swimming speeds baked in, and the ability to go even faster by shifting or using spells, you can dart around the battlefield real heccing quick.

You’re also really good in social situations, with a difficult to save against Charm Person plus a more than maxed out charisma modifier for skill checks. If you don’t like doing math, you get +7 for most charisma checks, +13 for Deception, and +19 for Performance. Pretty freaking good

On top of that, you’re also super difficult to charm with a maxed out wisdom save with proficiency and advantage. On top of that, your defenses then get turned into more charms against your enemies. In effect, you’re making your foes able to be affected by their own charms.

Cons:

A lot of your spells use Concentration, which is always an issue, especially since they’ll be butting heads with Favored Foe. (Also your concentration save isn’t that great...)

You also have a lot of limits on your offensive options. Most of them are tied to spell slots or ki points which are few, or they only add damage to one attack per turn. Sword+Thrown Weapon Fighting+ Dreadful Strikes+Deft Strike+Zephyr Strike is a lot of dice packed into one blow, and you’ll almost certainly hit, but it would be nice to be able to add your damage after getting a crit like paladins do.

Thrown Weapons just aren’t good. Again you have a lot of bonuses that make them scarier, but you still have to deal with either picking up all your weapons to throw them again, or deal with unsheathing a dozen swords each fight.

Last Movie At Home: My husband (@tepperz) and I just watched Encanto last night. And it is solid, I've been listening to Surface Pressure all day, I'm in love with Luisa, what's the news there... I have my little umbrages' with it (Mostly spoiler stuff, but also that I wish it wasn't Disney animation, I felt like it needed something a little more unique to really make the story pop - like how The Book of Life's already solid story is enhanced by it's style? I think a different animation style would have made it just a bit stronger.), but that's any Disney movie really? It was a fun movie, I haven't had fun with a Disney movie in a long while. I do reccommend it.

Favorite Color: Hnnnngggrhgleggfsjglaks don't ask me thiiiisssss, they're all good for different thiiiiings.

Uh, fuck, uhhhh llllightish red?

Last Song: Surface Pressure from Encanto, like I said. All day.

Sweet, Savory or Spicy: Ohhhh, they're all so good, but I gotta go with sweet. I love spicy foods and savory foods, but after eating any of them, I immediately crave sugar.

Currently Reading: A shit ton of witchy books that I haven't had the spoons to crack back open - primarily wanna finish Murphy-Hiscock's "House Witch" just to say I finished it, but at this point it's mostly a resource book. I wanna go through and highlight the parts I would reference though. Afterthat, I wanna pick The Crooked Path back up.

Otherwise, I'm currently on the audiobook for Iron Widow which is fantastic and gorgeously crafted. 11/10, recommended. Well worth it.

Currently working on:

So, like, I'm currently wrapping up the finishing touches on chapter 1 of my Body/Life follow up, Wedding Soup, which pal was kind and gracious enough to beta for me, and working through it with Tay, he and I are just trying to make some things more clear because the beginning isn't clear in how far back a flashback it is or if Ryou didn't know Bakura yet or not and ftgyhujiko a lot of things just need to be fixed.

Meanwhile, I need to start working on chapter 2 - Chapter 1 invovles an ao bozu, the second was planned to involve tsuchinoko but now I'm questioning if I'm really into the tsuchinoko angle as a choice for this, but I'm struggling to come up with more, so I just need to write it out, y'know? See what I want and what sticks, third chapter is nearly all the way written, and I know what I want for the others, but Chapter 2 really is kinda sticking it to me atm.

I am STILL working on the Rose/manipula fics Pyro requested in that prompt meme, but I'm making progress!

This is what I do when I'm stuck between paragraphs, I just blurt out what I want and how it should happen and then I color it purple because that's the color I use for text that needs to be changed/altered. I've doing this with manipula next, but it's been helpful for rose so far, I managed to bridge and eliminate a lot of unnecessary gaps and refine my pacing - it's still kind of a sloggy fic atm, but it's almost done and I can look it over more when it's a full copy.

Oh! I also started - okay Vrains has 120 episodes, I have 118 left to watch because I started a Chatshipping fic and I love them together, aaand I wanna work on a combo DM/Vrains vampire fic and for both fics I need to finish Vrains. My Chatshipper brain knows no bounds.

I'm also just dumping more FeyFic thoughts into a document right now - if anything, it'll at least be a good dump doc post, this fic is a plague upon my brain - Did i say Ryou stole Bakura's attention? he got mine in the deal too.

I am also.... on a binge to comment on every single ao3 fic in my bookmarks to show my appreciation for how much I loved reading it all, but got too self-obsessed to comment on when I added them. I'm really enjoying it, actually , even for fandoms I wasn't in for very long, there's a reason I bookmarked them, y'know?

And in my endeavors... I learned that - a lot of them updated.

Let’s talk: BTS decorating their BE photocards (BangtanB)

Today BH posted a Bangtan B*mb of the members decorating their BE photocards and honestly, it was just too funny of a video to not post some comments about it. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do since it’s an amazing happy boost, and also showcases the differences in the members personalities really well in the way they approached the decorating and the final results.

Before I get into it properly, can we please talk about Namjoon for a moment? His duality? The way he can be so cute and silly and cover his photocard almost completely in cute glittery stickers and then turn around and look like this? I wasn’t ready. For those who saw my post yesterday about the LGO videos, yes, I still haven’t recovered lol.

Okay, now, lets talk about the video and the cutest/funniest moments.

(Not to be me but gotta love how Jimin’s and Tae’s photocards are stuck togetehr/connected through the pink sparkly squiggly line sticker, cute. Also it looks like Hobi turned himself into a cute cat boy haha.)

The first duo were the 94 liners, Namjoon and Hobi, and right off the bat it made me smile and laugh so much. Hobi started out trying to make it at least somewhat neat, complained about how he’d stuck the J a little crookedly onto the photocard, but sooner rather than later escalated into just going all out with different hearts and squiggly lines to the point of giving himself heart shaped purple space buns and a pink tail.

Meanwhile Namjoon’s plan seemed to be just covering the entire photocard in stickers, except for his face. He added flowers and squiggly lines, even at one point tried to scratch off one of the stickers to adjust its placement which, I mean, is very Namjoon. Also, the sheer size difference of their hands and those tiny stickers? And Hobi’s proud smile?

Next up was Jimin with Seokjin and they were my faves in this hands down. The way they work off of each other and make each other (and us) laugh is just so fun and entertaining to watch. Their dynamic is amazing! I love how Jimin wanted to stick an A in hangul onto Seokjin’s photocard (turning Jin into Jan) and at first Seokjin told him not to do it, not to touch other people’s art, but of course he has the worlds biggest heart and soft spot for the members so he allowed Jimin to do it in the end.

Three times.

And like that wasn't enough, Seokjin discovered one of the pink squiggly sparkly lines and called it ‘pink poop’ deciding he wanted to stick that onto Jimin’s photocard right above his head. Which, in the end, Jimin also let him do. Adorable.

Their themes were also just so...them. Jimin sticking to flowers (with Seokjin suggesting that he should add a stem below his face so he’d literally be a flower, which Jimin didn’t accept) to match the photocard itself while Seokjin went for “twinkle twinkle little human star” and literally added a yellow star onto his face and surrounded that with even more stars. If that doesn’t scream Seokjin, I don’t know what does, and I mean that in the most endeared way possible.

Even more so when we think back to the BE Unboxing in units (11:55 onward) where they were supposed to add star stickers as rating along with a review right onto the cover of BE. There, too, Seokjin covered most of the cover in stars, the amount most certainly exceeding any rating system for albums.

Then we had Tae along with JK, the only duo that was relatively quiet as they worked, their section less filled with laughter. This isn’t a bad thing, of course, just means they were focused at their task which makes sense in the context of their personalities. Both are visual artists in their own right, JK usually sticking more to videos and photography (though he also draws), while Tae also dabbled into painting, so it was interesting to watch how they approached the task, both of them ending up with results that were far more minimal and neat than those of the previous pairs.

Tae even made a joke about how their photocards decorated with their names alone simply have name value and would sell for five billion won at an auction. I mean, he’s probably not wrong about that...

And lastly we had Yoongi on his own, his segment likely having been filmed a while before the other members judging by the background and when his surgery was. He also worked relatively quietly, though that was likely due to the fact that he was on his own. Looking at how many options there were, I thought to myself that I’d simply be overwhelmed by too much choice.

The cutest thing about his decorating though was how in the end he concluded that he’d want to give his photocard to Hobi so he can keep it in his wallet. Which is even cuter when we think back to FESTA 2020 and how Yoongi had won a Hobi photocard which he’d put in his own wallet. Those two are so soft for each other.

And like all of that wasn’t cute enough, we got this adorable Hobi selca.

Overall it was a really, really fun Bangtan B*mb full of laughter and the members having amazing chemistry with each other. Such a simple idea, having them decorate their photocards, and yet the result is so good!

But, speaking of decorating photocards, could you imagine actually doing that with any of your own? Because honestly I can’t. I’m not necessarily one of those ARMY who collect all the photocards etc and yet I still value mine too much to attempt anything like this out of fear that I’d just ruin them. Same with my ARMY B*mb. Even though I’d love to have the handle covered in rhinestones to match Namjoon’s sky blue mic, Seokjin’s pink one, Yoongi’s black one, or JKs purple iridescent one, but I’d never be brave enough to even give it a try. After all my ARMY B*mb permanently lives in its box so it won’t break or fall or something could happen to it in general.

Anyway, sorry for going on a tangent. The point though is that this was a great Bangtan B*mb with perfect timing for a Sunday.

They want to do a season full of drama, top notch romance and torrid sexual tension, and want to give the ladies at home the chance to gawk at handsome, horny lads of athletic prowess. They acquiesce to the idea to make your 25 bachelors ALL NHL hockey players. Included are Nolan, Joel F, Mat B, Matt T, Nate Mac, Carter H, Brock B, and hell even Toews makes an appearance! The producers catch you embracing Barzy in the garden and giving into his kiss on the first night. It gets back to other 25 men in the house causing a seismic wave. Your season goes down as the hottest in franchise history. You've managed to break hearts and sticks, start rivalries and infighting (as well as incessant chirping), and after careful deliberation (and MANY kisses and tears, thank God for liquid lipstick and waterproof mascara!) you eventually reach your final 4 bachelors!!!
