And yes sadly that has been pushed back due to Covid. It was said to come out in 2020 but now it is showing 2028!

I can't mind more information about it in general sadly but this sight usually keeps up with it pretty consistently.

It looks so adorable! I think it has it with Jiang Liuer (JJ) like in elementary school or something and Sun Wukong as his magical buddy who follows him around trying to get used to the modern day. Kinda reminds me of a Billy and Mandy situation with an all-powerful being hanging out with small children.

I legit had a dream last night that the plot was set in motion by Sun Wukong/Dasheng, after losing Liuer at the end of the film; asking the gods + the buddha for a way to save his monk son-figure.

But they cannot. Jiang Liuer is merely the 9th in the lives of the Golden Cicada.

The Monkey King doesnt take this response well.

He returns to Huaguoshan, only to find his people and kingdom decimated by the fires of Heaven.

In his dispair, he prays for a way to revive both his island, and his dear friend.

The Universe answers.

...and may have broken some dimensional barriers.

Dasheng wakes up with his head-throbbing, and with his whole island seemingly teleported to a new era, a new universe even. He and his subjects (+Pigsy, Silly Girl, and Sifu Fa Ming) are freaking tf out.

The monkey demon is about to fly off the handle looking for answers, when who meets him at the shore but Guanyin themself?

That bodhisattva explains that Dasheng's combined wish was so powerful - it literally changed the universe. Something about killing an aspect of primordial chaos glitched out the world something fierce.

Sun Wukong is a legend in this world - bordering on fictional. Huaguoshan is an island paradise for primate demons of all kinds, led by a council made up of his dear Stalwarts in his absence.

Many of his old allies are still alive - wondering where how the king's time under the mountain was?

So what does that mean for Liuer?

Dasheng follows clues from a familar old monk to the monastery's orphanage - where a much more familar little boy looks up at the monkey demon with awe.

This new, strange world will get some getting used to for the Great Sage and his companions. And certain aspects of The Journey are still destined to play out...

My idea for Hib's LEM/Six Eared Macaque ("Zhanshi") appeared in the dream, and her first act upon seeing her husband Dasheng again was to introduce him to their newborn child - who conviently waited for his father to get home before being born/hatching. XD

You're so right. I love that mischief has gotten big enough to get huge stars involved but I would like to read/see 1 article about PPGW that isn't solely enamored with nph

Anon, I was just ranting about this with some people in the Mischief server haha. And I've been upset about this huge celebrity promotion ever since they first brought tptgw to broadway back in 2017.

Like yes it is cool that they could get huge names involved in their broadway shows. JJ Abrams became a producer and helped to bring tptgw to Broadway. But then literally all the interviews were about JJ Abrams. And of course the interviewers would ask him questions about Star Wars instead of focusing on Mischief Theatre or tptgw itself. We're seeing a similar trend now with Neil Patrick Harris (who btw has extended his run to May 7th). The promos and interviews are about him and not the actual show itself.

And yes I know the reason for these big names is to bring in audiences and thus revenue, but it is quite annoying that Mischief themselves are barely getting any recognition themselves. I guess part of the problem is that Mischief shows are ensemble shows so there are no "main leads" to send out and do all the promos like most shows have. But Hen, Shields, and Jon could easily be the ones doing the promotions since they are the writers and heads of the show and company respectively. They should be promoting themselves so that the general audience could get to know them by name instead of "those funny british people." Their established fanbase + bringing in a celeb can't be their only marketing strategy

Also with NPH, it has the added injury that he is replacing Harry Kershaw who originated the role. Mischief fans (like me) are going out of their way to see the show for the original cast (also I have a side rant about that but that's for another time haha) but end up getting NPH instead of Harry himself. If they announced this way beforehand then it would have been fine but this unexpected announcement came as quite a surprise. Harry has gotten the short hand of the stick already in the BBC special where they had David Suchet to play the role of the narrator

Though someone did suggest an interesting idea if Mischief wants to continue this stunt casting. Mischief could get some big name (some suggestions include Christian Borle and David Tennant) to play as themselves in ppgw each week (similar to David Suchet in the BBC special). So they get a monologue similar to Suchet but related to their own work But it is a mystery guest so that would make people want to go see the show just to see who they get. And then Harry has another role (he could reprise his role as BBC guy) and/or he continue playing the Narrator once a week.

But of course this is an idea I could get behind if they promoted it from the beginning and don't make it the sole focus of their advertising of the show

Anyway this has gotten way longer and rambly then I intended haha but in short yes the constant advertisement of the celebrity instead of Mischief themselves is VERY annoying

Ok so I think I figured something out, bear with me here. The core of the reason why the new Star Wars films fell so flat was because they forgot that it was a loss of innocence story. It starts out in the beginning as Rey ripping the band aid off of her life and thus beginning her loss of innocence. But because they forgot that in the second movie, the thread gets dropped completely and they're directionless, and they have no idea where they're going story-wise. This is why by the third movie, nothing fucking makes sense anymore and everything feels like a wild stab in the dark. The story is no longer about rey's loss of innocence because they've completely forgotten the theme that was supposed to happen here. By the third movie, the story has swerved so far away from what we were supposed to be talking about that of course at the end when she's standing exactly where she fucking started saying "her" name, the entire thing is incomprehensible because this was supposed to be a loss of innocence journey and instead they just plopped her exactly back where she fucking started having literally spun their wheels and gone nowhere for three fucking films.

Most of my state is in a heat advisory and it was fine when I started walking, but once I switched to running it got too hot so I cut it at a mile. If it cools off this evening, I'll go for a longer walk to reach my step goal for today.

It's been two months since I last ran due to stress and medical stuff, but I'm glad to back up and (literally) running.

I started adding some yoga too to help my body recover and increase my mobility/flexibility. Ive also been trying to at the very least make it out every day to go for a walk until i reach 8000-10000 steps. I want to try some intermittent fasting but it's a little challenging when my part time summer job involves making catering orders 😬
