So, I have no idea whether anyone here has read this Webtoon, but I genuinely felt a need to somehow yap about it so bear with me.
Artist and illustrator Lee Yone had written the webtoon 'Surviving Romance' which is now one of my top favourite webtoons of all time. Everything from the plot, to the character development, to the message at the very core of the story, it was genuinely SO FREAKING GOOD!!!!
I was so impressed with how the artist was able to not only come up with such a compelling story, but the visuals were also 😩🤌.
If anyone ever gets the time, I'd highly recommend this webtoon. I feel like you'll definitely enjoy it no matter wha genre you prefer. And from the title, if you think this webtoon is about romance, well I guess you are definitely in for a treat. 🤭
One of my favourite characters was Jinhui Choi and I absolutely had to draw her. Her personality was upbeat, crazy and she really reminds me of Kaidou from The Disastrous Life Of Saiki. K, but she actually knows what she's doing. 😂
She was loyal and knew when and where to make a stance which drew me to her as a character and as a person in the story. Loved her so freaking much!! 💖

S/O Immune to Zombie Infection
Fandom: Surviving Romance
Character(s): Juri Ma, Shinbi Yun, Jinhui Choi
Type of Request: Headcanons
Note(s): I like to imagine that the S/O has no idea they’re immune since no one really knows anything about what’s going on besides Chaerin. I also don’t remember all the details in the webtoon since it’s been awhile so no idea if Chaerin can see if someone is infected, but she can in this.
(I’m also not writing for Surviving Romance right now, this is just an ask that got lost but I found it and am posting it)

Jinhui Choi
She’s thankful she has a sword right now as her power keeps her from breaking down and hating herself more with what happened to you. For now, all her energy goes into taking out whatever is left.
After that, she keeps a death grip on her sword. Jinhui is afraid that if she drops it then her facade will too. She can only imagine what you’re thinking and going through and she can’t let you see her cry and make things worse.
Jinhui decides that she can’t make a decision and tells you to stay by her. She’ll keep watch and when the time comes, she’ll deal with it. Right now she is going to continue with the mission she was given and push all of her feelings down.
More and more time passes and you haven’t turned. Eventually she can’t hold back anymore and she drops her sword to rush and pull you into a hug. If this is a trap to sink your teeth into her then she’ll accept it. But you don’t and you hug back and she lets out all the tears she was holding back.
Juri Ma
Juri saw what happened but you’re not in a situation where something can be done. She’s still doing her best to fend off more zombies and keep you protected. Yes you were bit, but she isn’t going to let them take more of you. It’s silent after the last zombie falls before Juri lets out a dry laugh and a, “Well fuck.”
She’s seen people turn and how fast they turn. She knows that you should end this before you become one of those monsters. But she can’t bring herself to do it.
Honestly she ends up more pissed as time passes and she still hasn’t done anything to try and help you. She’s supposed to be really strong and keep you safe and... and you haven’t turned yet. You don’t have any signs of turning.
Juri doesn’t know if this might be another of the special zombie BS so she’s keeping a close eye on you. The amount of relief that fills her that you’re still you makes her have to look away so you don’t see her cry.
Shinbi Yun
She sees you getting bitten and she’s already panicking. Dread fills her and her vision blurs from the tears that are starting to fall.
You both don’t know what to do. You don’t want to die, hell she doesn’t want you to die. But to become a zombie? She really doesn’t know what to do and she’s panicking.
It isn’t until Chaerin runs into the two of you. Shinbi is in tears as she’s telling her what happened and you show her the bite. There’s silence from the pinkette before she says you’ll be fine. Shinbi gets understandably upset because she doesn’t want to be told “everything will be fine”.
It isn’t until more and more time passes that nothing has happened. You’re still you. Ms. Lee turned a lot more quickly and nothing has happened and Shinbi is crying and holding you so close because you’re fine.
