Summary: You had been together for so long that is was hard to remember why you were together, that didn’t mean it was easy to say goodbye though.

“Can’t you just pretend to care?” You whisper out in a hiss at the man standing before you, the one who decided not to mention anything to you about what he intended to do until you were at a dinner with both of your families.

“What do you think I’ve been doing for the last five years Y/N? Our love disappeared years ago, we only stayed together because of our damn families. Besides it’s too late now, I found someone else who I love and I’m not going to put that on hold for this act and potentially lose it.” Jinwook responds, walking away to go join everyone for dinner before you can respond. Knowing that you were going to have to deal with the backlash of his actions tonight too, likely more so than him, but he was still willing to drop this on every one out of nowhere for the person he loved. 

Your parents are blissfully oblivious to your plight even as you for once can’t force a smile through one of these dinners. Practically cringing as Jinwook says he was news to share with everyone, gulping down your glass of wine as you feel all eyes on you knowing they assumed it was an engagement announcement of some sort and not what Jinwook was actually about to do. 

“I’m breaking up with Y/N.” Jinwook sounds almost too proud as the chaos erupts.

“Why? What happened? I’m sure whatever it is Y/N is sorry!! Right, Y/N? Apologize to him.” Your mother elbows you in the ribs urging you to grovel to this man in front of everyone and try to win him back.

“Y/N didn’t do anything. Our love just left long ago and I have someone else who has my heart now. Y/N will find that someday too. As wonderful as this has been though, I have to do. I have a date with my new love.” Jinwook beams at everyone before bounding off leaving you to handle the rest of the night alone.

“You know Y/N a relationship doesn’t need to be based on love, we’ll get him back to you. Just make sure to let it stick then.” His father instructs watching as you look at him.

“No, no, just because this is a mess doesn’t mean I want him to end up heartbroken.” You insist before your own parents silence you.

“I don’t think you understand Y/N. We’ve already spoken, if it’s not you and Jinwook it’s not going to happen. Neither of you will be able to succeed in a relationship with anyone else, we'll make sure of that.”

5. CHANCE

 JINWOOK: Although he was smiling you can tell something was bothering him. You were being careful as to not spoil his mood. He looked happy anyway, so you decided not to ask. But in the end your curiosity won. “Perhaps you have something to tell me?” In reply, he dropped his gaze on his coffee and mumbled, “I do but it can wait till tomorrow, I think.” Your heart throbbed in excitement. On the other hand it made his heart race as well, remembering the tiny black velvet box lying peacefully in his drawer back home.

SOOIL: Hanging out with him was never boring. No matter what he said was too funny for you. Luckily the other customers were busy with their own conversations. No one paid you attention in that diner. “Will you ever stop being funny? It feels like I’ve been laughing for two hours straight,” you said, grinning. “You’re too serious. Take things lightly. You should laugh more.” Grateful, you stared at him with his words still ringing in your ears. For him it’s the sound of your laugh that he likes to hear.

MINSOO: Admiring the exterior of the coffee shop, you suddenly got the impulse to buy something to drink from it. The tiny bell rang when you opened the French doors. The interior was more classy and beautiful. It was like you were somewhere in Europe. The feeling of someone looking at you made you turn your head. And there he was, sitting alone with a cup of coffee in front of him. You thought you saw him smile at you before you looked away.

JINHYUK: Confused and surprised, you stared at him. Seeing him outside your house wasn’t a normal thing for you. “What are you doing out here?” he asked before you could say anything. It should be you asking him that question. “I live near here,” you responded casually. “What are you doing here? You’re not from here.” He put his hands in his pockets and sighed. “I’m just passing.” The answer sounded uncertain to you. “I’ll be going then,” you said, leaving him dismayed that he didn’t talk to you longer when he actually waited for you.

CHANGHYUN: What he’s playing on the piano made you want to close your eyes, but you didn’t. You can’t help but admire him. He’s always a surprise. The music stopped and he said, “Come here.” He patted the space beside him. “Let’s play that piece we practiced before.” Immediately you remembered the notes of the piece he taught you years ago. He began playing the first notes and then you followed. You were too focused with the keys that you didn’t notice he was smiling every time your fingers brushed with his.

WOOSEOK: “Sorry I won’t be able to meet you right now. I’ll call you later,” you told him on the phone. You really wanted to see him but you just can’t say no to your boss. Work was the reason why didn’t get to spend quality time with him sometimes. “Alright, don’t stay out late,” he advised. “I’ll wait for your call.” The excitement in his steps died as he signed off for work. He understood how you busy were. Maybe today’s not really the right time for you to know.

YEIN: “Are you going to leave?” he asked after you stood up. You heard a hint of sadness in his voice and noticed a crease on his forehead. “Well, it’s getting dark and we’re done studying anyway.” He was already packing his textbooks in his bag that littered the table. “I’m not,” you corrected him. “I’m thinking of going to the convenience store, do you want anything?” The patrons in the public library were leaving one by one, so he thought you might do the same. “Don’t go alone. I’ll go there with you,” he said. “Okay,” you responded, trying hard not to smile.

GYUJIN: The subway was already crowded when it arrived at the station. It’s the rush hour and you’re thankful to be able to catch it. Your eyelids were drooping in tiredness, but you fought sleep. There’s not a seat available, so you can’t afford to lose your balance. As the subway was approaching the next station, you turned to look at your left where he was standing beside you. Finally the train halted, with him bumping into you gently. It was awkward and accidental—a kiss on the forehead that wasn’t really a kiss. “I’m sorry,” the tall guy mumbled. You peeked at him only to see him blushing in embarrassment.

HWANHEE: Sighing, you blinked your eyes as you get your books from your locker. You left your glasses at home again, or so you thought. He was standing beside you when you closed the locker door. “You dropped this,” he uttered, handing your notepad back. “Thank you,” you said, smiling. “I didn’t notice. Like how I forgot wearing my glasses.” You’ve never talked to him casually like this before. Suddenly it felt good seeing him. He smiled and pointed at your head. “Turns out you forgot you’re wearing them,” he said, smirking. That smirk added to the reasons why you got flustered.

DONGYEOL: Tiny drops of rain began falling. Too dazed at the look he was giving you, you ignored it. “Would you change if i… if I tell you,” he stuttered. “Since I met you, I’m always happy. I like being with you.” he pulled on the hood of your jacket to shield you from the drizzle. Now that you noticed it, his proximity caused your mind to malfunction. He even took a step closer, making you speechless. “I want you to know that I like you. Do you feel the same about me?” he asked expectantly. “Yes,” you breathed, nodding your head in reply. He smiled, taking your hand.

Okay, so I think that Jinhoo would be super adorable on a first date. It took him ages to pluck up the courage to ask you out so now he has the chance to finally impress you, you bet he’ll do his damn hardest to give you the best date ever. He would start by picking you up from your front door in the evening and giving you a bunch of flowers (he found out your favourites by utilising his best spies ie Hwanhee and Xiao). Then he would drive you to a public garden with a lake which is lit with lanterns and set up a little picnic with all of your favourite picnic foods (can you see a running trend here? This boy will do his research.). He would make sure that there was never an awkward moment, trying his best to make you feel comfortable. Once you finish eating, he’ll lay out a blanket and a few pillows which he retrieved from his car and you’d watch stars until you began to drift off to sleep.

Kogyeol

This boy… this BOY.

This boy has it covered, okay? He’s not breaking a sweat when it comes to a first date because he knows that everything will be perfect. He could actually be considered the king of first dates. What’s better for a first date than a coffee shop? It’s a calm atmosphere, no awkward silences because the bustling of the cafe will fill them and food is readily available. Perfect. He would arrange to meet you there and actually arrive 30 minutes early so that he can get the two of you the nice plush chairs which are in a snug corner at the back. Private and quiet. He will wait patiently till you arrive but the nerves will creep in slightly, he has a huge crush on you, after all. When you turn up he’ll be the model date and stand up to greet you, giving you a small and gentle hug. Obviously, he’d insist on paying for your drink and going up to order and wait for it while you sit down. While he waits he wouldn’t be able to stop looking over at you with a cute grin on his face because he’s so happy that you agreed to go out with him. The rest of the date will pass with the two of you getting to know each other and Kogyeol throwing in about a million and one compliments while doing so.

Summary: Jinhoo had been dating since more than two years which had been amazing, but nowadays the coldness and the distance is starting to be noticed.

You are backstage with Jinhoo since both of you are having a heavy conversation, more like an argument and it’s not going well. This started a while ago that you saw Jinhoo really mad at you and he seemed distant as soon as you came to see them at their rehearsal, so you are trying to figure out why is he so mad at you.

-Why do you have such an attitude with me? – You asked a bit annoyed.

-An attitude? What are you talking about? – Jinhoo asked while looking away from you.

-You are avoiding me, you aren’t talking to me since I came – You said as you tried to stay on ease.

-*Sigh* it’s ridiculous – Jinhoo said while rolling his eyes.

-Just tell me what I did wrong – You said pissed.

-You came late to the rehearsal with Hwanhee, just the two of you and Gyujin saw you both sneaking out of the meeting room. Why? – Jinhoo said a bit mad as he looked at you.

-Are you serious right now? – You asked amazed. –I can’t believe it.

-Me either – Jinhoo said upset.

-You are the worst, how can you think that I cheated on you?! – You asked madly.

-What? I never said that! – Jinhoo said in defense.

-So what’s the thing you can’t believe? That I was inside the meeting room Hwanhee, just the two of us? – You asked as you looked at him.

-Leave the things as they are, just… ah – Jinhoo said frustrated before he got out of the room. You started to follow him since you wanted answers from him, until all of the sudden Sunyoul and Kuhn came towards you stopping you from following Jinhoo.

-Y/N, is going to be better if you go back home – Kuhn said as he looked at you worried.

-Why? Don’t you see that we were talking? – You said a bit annoyed.

-That wasn’t talking Y/N… right now Jinhoo-hyung needs his time to calm down that’s why he left – Sunyoul said as he tried to calm you down.

-I… don’t care, he doesn’t care – You said upset before you walked away from there. At that point you started to run away to your car as you tried to forget the words that came out of your mouth and his, you had been arguing for some time now since you two had been very distant with each other. You know that Jinhoo isn’t the type of boyfriend that gets jealous easily and that he trust you a lot but, since you haven’t been showing any love to him he might feel harmed too.

*TIME LATER*

You’re at the Han River just looking at the beautiful view in front your eyes, when suddenly you sense someone next to you. However, you didn’t turned your head to see who was there and you kept o enjoying the view of the river.

-You seem very calm after what happened.

-Do you think so, Jinhoo? – You asked.

-I really do Y/N – Jinhoo said before he sighed. –I can’t tell what are you thinking anymore, I just look at you and don’t recognize you.

-I’m sorry that I’m not the same as you wanted – You said while releasing a settle smile.

-Why Y/N? Why are you acting like this lately? – Jinhoo asked as he looked at you concerned.

-I’m just scared – You said while you looked at him with a smile.

-Of what?

-Of failing – You said before a tear fell down from your eye. –It’s been the best years of my life being with you, but lately I’m feeling that someone might be better than me.

-Are you kidding me? That’s why you started to hang more with the other members? – Jinhoo asked surprised.

-Yeah, it’s foolish but I just wanted to talk with somebody… and Hwanhee was the one that helped me the most – You said before you sighed. –I’m sorry… do you still love me?

-*Chuckle* come here – Jinhoo said as he opened up his arms to you and then he started to embrace you tight against his chest. –I do, but I hate that you are so insecure about my feelings for you.

-I’m not, but I just think that I’m not enough for you – You said while hiding your face on his chest.

-You are more than enough, you are everything I ever wanted… I love you Y/N – Jinhoo said as he kissed your head sweetly, suddenly a few sobs started to be heard. He immediately lifted up your chin and he looked at you with a smile, you looked at him with your teary eyes while you tried to clean up your tears.

-We both said things we shouldn’t, and we harmed each other but… that’s what this is about, right? Love can hurt – Jinhoo said while cleaning up your tears with his dumb.

-I guess so – You said before you chuckled a little, then Jinhoo grabbed your hand gently and smiled at you.

-Please don’t think about that again, okay Y/N? – Jinhoo said as he looked at you.

-I’ll try my best – You said before you kissed his cheek. –I’m sorry for making you jealous.

-Aw, don’t worry. You didn’t – Jinhoo said as he laughed.

-What? Really? – You asked confused.

-Just a little with Hwanhee but… I know Sunyoul and he’ll never try something that would hurt me – Jinhoo said as he pocked your cheek.

-So you think Hwanhee can? – You asked surprised.

-I think he’s mischievous some times and that he can easily follow your game without even knowing – Jinhoo said as he started to embrace you from behind, then both of you started at the beautiful view of the Han River.

-Hmm, maybe – You said while looking at him.

-I’m glad that you did it though – Jinhoo said as he reloaded his chin on your shoulder, then you started to play with his hair.

-Why? – You asked.

-Because now you know how much you care about us – Jinhoo said happily.

-Yah! Of course I care – You complained cutely.

-*Laugh* I was just saying – Jinhoo said as he teased you, then you gave him a quick and gentle kiss on his lips.

-You are amazing – Jinhoo said while staring at you with a wide smile.

-Stop that – You said while blushing.

-Can’t I watch you? – Jinhoo asked as a whisper.

-You do, but don’t tease – You said with a shy smile.

-*Chuckle* aw, always so cute Y/N – Jinhoo said as he smiled.

-You always so playful – You said while rolling your eyes.

-But you like it – Jinhoo said while interlacing his hands with yours.

“Wooshin-ah, are you okay?” You ask in a slow and teasing voice, while tracing his hard on with the tips of your fingers, your long acrylic nails scraping the zipper. “Stop… teasing me (Y/N). It won’t end well for you when we get home.” His voice lower, deeper and huskier than normal. Ignoring his threat, you slowly take the zipper in between your fingers and unzip his trousers. Reaching down, Wooshin grabbed your hand and placed it back on your lap hastily before turning and giving you a strict look before turning back to face the road. Taking a left and pulling up in the driveway of your house, he began to shut off the engine before you turned his face with your hands and crashed your lips upon his, the kiss getting heated quickly.

Breaking the kiss, he grabbed you and pulled onto his lap before opening the car door and pulled you both out. UP10TION BLUE ROSE; Detective AU Teaser//PT.1

 JUST the city’s best and youngest detective group arrived at another crime scene. 

A, the team’s leader walked in first accessing the scene. Not only was she the most capable of being their Leader, she was also the youngest and first to join the team at the age of 14 (4 years ago) and.. she is also the Agency Director’s daughter. 

M, began the same time as A’ only a year older, they were partners for 2 years before KA and KU came along to complete JUST. M becoming the team's deputy leader. KU mostly on Tech and KA well she’s mainly just KA for the time being. Although not having a specific role on the Team she keeps everyone together and helps balance things out. 

The rest of JUST arrive at the scene of their next case, KA and KU [a.k.a the Dumb and Dumber Team] split up to study the scene. KA taking quick shots of the scene in front of A and M, a grand room inside the huge mansion that the incident took place in, furniture thrown across the room, slashes on the couch, the chandelier that hung for lighting now on the floor. In the rumble of the shattered chandelier, a blue rose stood to complement the royal blue patterned walls of the room. Yet it seemed to torture A and also Wooseok, who A noticed had been staring at it since they had walked in.

Seems like JUST will be working with Up10tion again for this case. They were both the best detective and investigators in the city, the only difference was in age and agencies. JUST worked for an agency and Up10tion were freelancers but were sometimes asked by JUST’s agency to help out with certain cases. 

M: “A...” 

M started quickly snapping A from her thoughts and suspicions. ”just look around.. you know your job, I need to talk to Jinhoo..” She quickly interrupted.

“BOO!” Jinhoo yelled from behind A, his aim was to scare her but that didn’t work out. A turned around to face Jinhoo looking quite serious, Jinhoo’s smile faded to match her expression. 

Jinhoo: “You wanted to talk?? No, I haven’t sent any evidence to labs yet and Yes, I do have my theories.”. A nodded before responding.

A: “Well we better get on that then, who did you bring with you this time?”. He smiled nervously before turning and called Kuhn over. A sighed as she saw the mass of people following after Kuhn. She raised her hand but M already knew what hand signal was coming and pushed it back down to her side while calling out for the remaining 2 members of JUST. 

Jinhoo: “I know you said during our last case together we didn’t need the whole team but that’s just how we work and we also have a new member, Wei ”. KU followed the line of boys, he recognised them one after the other until he reached the end. He was taller than the other boys with sharp eyes which would be intimidating but it seemed he was more intimidated by them, giving a shy smile. 

 Kuhn steps out and holds his hand out to JUST. “Nice to meet you all again and hope we can deal with this case quickly, Soo-il” he introduces himself like the 4 other times they have worked together and shakes A’s hand. 

A: “nice to see all NINE of you again, you can call me ‘A’.” putting emphasis on the word nine while giving Jinhoo a forced smile. 

Hwanhee: “ooh we’re using our made-up names??”. KA, KU and some members of Up10tion snicker at the Marvel reference, then continued the introduction process that seemed to go quickly since both groups have worked together a good few times before. 

JUST were cautious of Wei as they were with the rest of Up10tion before during their first case together. “well start sending DNA traces, fingerprints or anything you can find to the labs and start packing evidence here, I'll check out the murder scene upstairs.”  

Everyone is on the move and A heads towards the stairs. “KA supervise down here” was her last command before stepping onto the second step.  

Jinhoo: “Sunyoul that means you’re supervising too”. He was disappointed that JUST didn’t trust them to do their job properly even after 4 cases together.

“Do we really need to Supervise each other??” Sunyoul questioned once they reached the 1st floor. “it’s not that we don’t trust you.. we’re just being cautious and it’s a way to double-check everything.” A explained. 

A enters the murder site, a trail of blood leading her from the hallway to the bedroom. An old man’s body was situated on the floor at the end of the bed. He was sat up and slumped over, covered in blood. The bed’s duvet and pillows were tossed around the room, they had similar cuts to the couch downstairs. The mattress, however, was still on top of the bed frame but it was ripped open to reveal nothing but we could only assume money or something valuable.

A scanned the room and started examining the bed sheets. “So how was everyone since we last saw each other?” A asked still examining the cloth, Sunyoul still behind her observing the room and other members. “Fine.. I suppose” he answered as A sent a hand signal for KU to bag a strand of hair she found on the sheets. 

A turned back around to face Sunyoul and walked closer to him. Sunyoul seemed confused and also intimidated by this, seeing A’s serious expression. 

A: ”And what about the new guy?”. Sunyoul loosened up a bit. “Oooh I get it, you’re cautious of Wei?” he asked following A again to another spot in the room. He explains how Wei had helped them with their last case and Jinhoo taught it was time to make the team a 10 member group again since their last member was caught in the accident a few years back. 

”So you guys just hired him straight away, just because he helped you with a case?” A seemed wary of the situation. Sunyoul sighed. “It was Jinhoo and Kuhn’s idea, they said he had the same sense that we have with cases, the same way of thinking” He answered while picking up the cotton swab of an unknown substance A had found and bagged it, handing it to Kogyeol as he passed. 

“so you trust him?” she questioned. “well he hasn’t done anything to make me question him” he replied

He didn’t even bat an eyelash when on the contrary you were surprised with his courage. “Can you give me a minute? I want to draw this exact moment.” Surely he didn’t mean the skies or the wonderful view before you. It was you and only you.

 Sir Wooseok Kim of Daejeon, Two – mysterious, quiet, handsome, most of the suitors find him intimidating but he’s good to everyone

Time with him seemed inexplicably odd, immeasurable. The conversation had gone deeper from how your day went to your future plans for the kingdom. “For a One like you, what is there to want for? The kingdom, everyone’s loyalty, they’re everything and all for you—me included,” he said, finding your hand beside his. He said nothing more after that, looking up at the starry skies.

You noted how he had a knack for learning how to do things even if took him hours. He showed you his work and you were dazed by it, by him. You are more than just a number, a symbol. You are hope dressed in pastel colors and all the good things there are. The fine paper bled with his beautiful words written in calligraphy. He wiped the ink on your hand, pulling you out of a mesmerizing dream.

 Sir Gyujin Han of Incheon, Five – tall, beautiful (and he doesn’t know he is), loves taking photos and music, soft-spoken, annoyingly funny, gentle

As the drizzle began to fall, he quickly took off his coat and put it on your head. You noticed him fuss with the suit, his movements and then back to his eyes. He stopped moving, unmindful of the rain. He spoke your name and it was music to you. “Just the fact that I can call you by your name is an honor. Just to be seen in your eyes is more than a privilege.” You saw yourself in his eyes, all wide-eyed and smitten. He then leaned in closer and you surprised yourself when you didn’t move away.

 Sir Hwanhee Lee of Daejeon, Three – shy and quiet but also loud (very much) and fun-loving, polite and friendly, treats the other suitors as his brothers, soft-hearted

A quiet and sincere smile appeared on his lips just as you came out the door. You could tell he hurried to meet you by the looks of his tie. He let out a nervous chuckle when you smoothed it out for him. It was still adorable of him. You matched his smile and the tension eased. “I wasn’t made for this, you know. But sometimes I dream I was—I am—somehow, born for you.” He laughed it off, but you knew better. He was more honest when he was flippant.

Sir Dongyeol Lee of Busan, Two – bubbly and cheerful, acts cute all the time, very sweet, can talk the entire time, easygoing

He sat on the balcony, balancing his weight and tightening his grip on the railing. It worried you but you relaxed when you saw his easy manner. Being with people like him was easy. He asked questions because of curiosity without prejudice. “Love would be the one hurrying to find you. Don’t look for it. Love is on its way,” he advised and you agreed. And then his eyes twinkled with something close to mischief. “In the meantime, you can look at me.”

Later that day Jinhoo took your hand and while the rest of the members kept talking and enjoying the time with the music, he took you to the top of a mountain that was on the pool as decoration, the view from there was very pacific and calm, you could see plants all over the place, surrounded by water and more vegetation.

-Now it’s our time to be alone.

-Yeah… thank you so much for this day, it was amazing.

-You’re amazing.
