BTS Jin’s Alcohol Brand Pop-Up Store Draws Huge Crowd Despite No Promotion

Recently, it was revealed that BTS‘s Jin had collaborated with friend and celebrity chef Baek Jong Won for a joint business venture: A liquor brand called IGIN.

New photos have gone viral showcasing the creatively designed packaging of the product. Additionally, there is a Christmas version of the packaging out, perfect for holiday festivities: “Sweet Tonic” (apples and watermelons) and “Sour Tonic” (apples and plums).

It was previously announced that a pop-up store for the product’s release would take place at Jini’s Lamp, operated by GS25. The preopening events ran from December 16 to 19, with the official grand opening on December 20. Cute merchandise is also available.

Now, ARMYs are flocking to the pop-up’s grand opening, sharing the decorated space with IGIN in mind. It exceeded expectations with its fun, interactive atmosphere.

Jin’s elder brother also attended with his wife. He left a sweet message and shared it via his Instagram Stories. Heo Seo Hong, the newly appointed CEO of GS Retail, also surprisingly attended. The turnout for the grand opening was massive despite the blistering cold.

On the first day, hundreds of visitors lined up, and there were many waiting hours to enter. The store was crowded with visitors excited to leave messages for Jin, buy merch, taste the drink, etc., in the immersive space. A GS Retail official explained that the “pre-registration for IGIN was sold out quickly, and as soon as we started accepting on-site registrations today, over 100 people joined the waiting list.” They expect about 5,500 people to visit by the end of the pop-up.

Many ARMYs attended, including international fans. Some fans confessed they weren’t big alcohol drinkers but were interested in trying this one, as it was made by Jin.

GS25, which sells IGIN drinks, will continue to operate the pop-up until Christmas Eve, December 24.

Jikook Week 55 Complete ✔️ (24-31/12/2024)

Jikook have finalized their 55th week in the military and 70% of their service is now complete. It's time to look back at this week in 2016. It was the end of the year and BTS were busy with a series of shows performing Blood Sweat and Tears and Fire from the Wings album. They were down one man because Yoongi had an accident at the dorm on 20/12 and was told to rest for a week.

Watching these shows again, it is clear that this was a special time for BTS and especially for Jimin. It reminded me of RM's comments on Minimoni music earlier this year. Jimin's confidence may have suffered ups and downs in the 11 years since their debut but in December 2016 he was definitely riding high.

On Christmas Eve, BTS appeared on the Music Core Year End Stage with one of their iconic Blood, Sweat and Tears performances.

They did a live that day and exchanged Secret Santa gifts. They were in high spirits after a successful stage, lots of joking and laughter.

Suga received vitamins from JK. JK was gifted fabric deodorizer by Taehyung who received snacks from Jimin.

Jimin and J-Hope both got underwear from J-Hope and RM respectively. RM received snacks from Jin. Jin received an Suga acrylic photo stand from Suga (how he rolled his eyes when he unpacked that gift - oh Yoongi). That acrylic photo stand made multiple appearances on Twitter and in Bangtan Bombs for the rest of that year.

V & Jimin were in their partners in crime phase and filmed and posted video clips together. Tae sang "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" followed by Jimin singing the question "Taehyung, is it fun to do something like this?" V's love of Christmas songs sure goes back a long time.

On Boxing Day, BTS appeared at SBS Gayo Daejun.

This show included one of Jimin's legendary dance performances. He was part of an ensemble of idols showing off their contemporary dance skills in the opening show.

Personally, I think he did a fantastic job and from the sounds of the cheering, it's clear that the audience was impressed. However, as usual Jimin wasn't satisfied and was thinking of ways it could have been better. I'm so glad he and JK are being kinder to themselves these days.

On the 29/12 BTS filmed KBS Gayo Daechukjae with three group stages including this one for Fire.

Jimin also had a dance off with Taemin. Jimin was working hard and Taemin noted his puffy eyes with concern. I remember reading something about Jimin collapsing from exhaustion as soon as he got off stage after this showdown but I can't find where I saw that.

JK was also busy, performing I'm a Flying Butterfly as part of a group stage with the other 97 liners.

Tae's birthday happened during the shooting of the show and BTS celebrated with cake backstage.

On New Year's Eve, BTS filmed their final show of the year, MBC Gayo Daejejun. JK was featured in the BTS performance of Rainism.

Jimin posted their practice session on Twitter "It was great!!!!! You all worked hard." Always supporting his Jungkookie.

BTS - You Never Walk Alone

happy new year and welcome to the first of all firsts! my middle school best friend introduced me to bts and that spiraled into getting hooked on kpop overall. but before branching out to explore other groups, i was invested in following bts, and this album is where it all began.

in future posts when discussing repackage albums, i will only cover new songs, but since this is my first one, i'll make it special and discuss every song on it.

I didn't make a spotify account until after I got a smartphone for christmas in 2018, so honestly i have no idea how i listened to these albums back then,, i remember making a playlist of those color coded lyric videos that i would listen to on my ipad mini, so maybe i was just being hopeful there was one of those for every song on the album and that i was listening to them in order.

anyway lets get on with my thoughts on each song from the album! there will probably be a lot of anecdotes about times i listened to them well after the release, which is a nice thing im able to do by posting this way :)

Intro: Boy Meets Evil i don't remember what solidified hobi as my bias, but i wouldn't be surprised if this song was part of the reason. great intro to the album and he slays the dance so much!!

Blood Sweat & Tears ough such a good song omg!! theres something so special and intriguing to me about mvs themed around art, just feels so elite and fancy,, i hope they do something like this again when they're back from hiatus <3 i remember yoonmin stans going crazy over that one scene in the video lmao, glad the insane shipping phenomenon has kinda died down tho (or i just became oblivious to it lol). ngl the ending where jins face started cracking freaked me out a little back in the day. but fr that bridge is transcendant omg

First Love i remember my undiagnosed autistic ass reading a post about how emotional this song was and hiding in a dark closet to listen to this song and force myself to feel something. i get it fr now but back then i didnt understand my brain and was taking it too literally lol. yoongi put so much heart into this song and its beautiful

Spring Day THE QUEEN!!!!!!! i am so mad the stage line distribution isn't the official one cuz hobi sounds amazing singing the intro in it 😭 at least he gets the pretty background harmonies in the choruses <3 i remember still getting jungkook and taehyung mixed up in the mv smh my head. very recent anecdote about this song: (TW: BUGS!!) it came on as i was getting out of the shower and i was passionately singing along and suddenly saw a centipede and FREAKED OUT. i literally went like: “눈꽃이 떨어져요 또 조금씩 멀어져요~ WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!?!?” quickly googled and found it was harmless but it still startled me lmao 😭

Outro: Wings WAHOOOOOOOO this was like my favorite hype song of all time!! I used to have a silly video of me dancing to it but unfortunately i think it's lost to the void 😔 i never really listen to the interlude version cuz i miss the extended parts too much. i would listen to this on loop so much and could pretty much sing the whole thing. nowadays i don't go crazy bonkers obsessed over it anymore but i still really enjoy it and never got tired of it :)

BTS' V To Unveil Jazz Pop Collaboration “Winter Ahead (with Park Hyo Shin)”

V (Kim Taehyung) announces the release of his new digital single, "Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)."

Through an announcement today via the global fandom platform Weverse and BTS' official social media channels, BIGHIT MUSIC revealed that V’s digital single "Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)" will soon be released, continuing his tradition of releases that evoke the feeling of winter, such as "Snow Flower," "Christmas Tree," and "wherever u r (ft. V of BTS)." This year, V returns with a collaboration that perfectly captures the end-of-year spirit with South Korean ballad singer Park Hyo Shin, known for his powerful and emotive voice. Their voices come together to beautifully capture the warmth and nostalgia of the season.

“Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)” was inspired by V’s wish for his fans to have a warm and joyful winter. A jazz enthusiast, V reached out to Park Hyo Shin, with whom he has a longstanding friendship, to propose the idea of creating a winter-themed single. Park Hyo Shin happily took part to create a jazz pop track that reflects both of their tastes, shaped by thoughtful development and careful attention to every detail over time.

The evocative lyrics were written by Jesse Harris, known for penning Norah Jones' hit "Don’t Know Why." The poetic words blend seamlessly with the warm melody, while the smooth, soothing vocals of V and Park Hyo Shin bring a comforting sense of warmth to listeners.

Setting the stage for the holiday season, “Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)” arrives just one week before the highly anticipated release of “White Christmas (with V of BTS),” V’s duet with the legendary Bing Crosby, dropping on December 6. “White Christmas,” originally released in 1942 by Bing Crosby and beloved worldwide, will be brought to life again by V with his unique touch to this timeless classic to deliver warmth and joy just in time for the holidays. 

“Winter Ahead (with PARK HYO SHIN)” will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide on November 29 at 2 PM KST.

top five favorite episodes or moments from lost!

Ok so julian’s dragging me kicking and screaming back into having lost opinions let’s go (I’m going with top five episodes just bc it's a bit less broad and thus a bit easier)

Tricia Tanaka is Dead - the it girl!! I do honestly wish more of the show allowed itself to be as fun and low stakes as this one because the slice-of-lifeiness of it all really works! it's just a fun episode about characters working together to fix a van while hurley works through his issues with his dad and it's funny and it's charming and it's a beautiful microcosm of the show's themes of community and hope. also the music in this one always sticks out to me - I love the slowed down emotional version of shambala that plays at the end of the episode it just sounds gorgeous

Through the Looking Glass - the opposite end of the spectrum to tricia tanaka is dead in terms of plot relevance and stakes. lost has a lot of great season finales but this is always going to be my favourite! I love how many different moving parts come together in this one and obviously the twist at the end is iconic, but honestly charlie's death might be the strongest part to me. and I say this as a huge fan of charlie, he was my favourite character for the first bit of the show, but I love how his death was written I'd honestly call it a contender for best written tv death of all time. The build up to it with desmond's visions of the future is really well done, him sacrificing himself in the hope of getting his loved ones home is a great and powerful conclusion to his arc, and I love all the neat details in the writing like how his musical ability is what helps him to save the day! it's just so well done and emotional and one of the show's most powerful moments!!

The Constant - a modern christmas and/or valentine's day classic! I feel like I don't have too much to say about this one bc the constant being great is a very popular opinion among lost fans but it really does live up to the hype. one of the best time travel love stories ever written methinks

Exposé - EXPOSE IS REALLY GOOD YOU GUYS ARE JUST MEAN. does it contribute to the show's plot? no, but also I don't care about the show's plot so who give a shit. I love that it's a murder mystery, I love that all the characters are absolutely dogshit at solving the murder mystery, I love the silly goofy diamond heist plot, I love the concept of retelling all the show's most major plot beats from the pov of a couple of background characters who were never involved in the important stuff, and most of all I love the fucked up unnecessarily dark ending that never gets addressed again for like three seasons. if old lost fandom were remotely capable of having fun this would have been considered a classic from the start

Numbers - Obviously the first hurley episode deserves to make the top five, but I do also just generally love the mysterious and slightly creepy vibes of this episode (did the numbers mystery get resolved in a satisfying way? that's another story, but the episode that set it up is still pretty damn great). also hurley's backstory of being a lottery winner convinced he's cursed with catastrophic bad luck is definitely one of the most memorable character backstories the show ever came up with

i'm also giving an honourable mention to exodus, live together die alone, and there's no place like home (I didn't want this list to be all season finales but I can't deny the show had a REALLY great run of them up until season 5), flashes before your eyes (didn't want to include it along with the constant bc it is kind of just a dry run for that episode, but i do think it deserves credit and it's a shame it gets overshadowed by the other desmond and penny centric time travel episode), and ji yeon specifically for the twist that the sun and jin off-island scenes are actually taking place in two different times. always a sucker for that one

Which member personality is like yours?

I feel like I’m somewhere between Jungkook and Suga. Like, generally pretty quiet, slightly spaced out, would gladly just sit around and do nothing, and people usually think I’m cold at first. But when I’m into something, then I’m into it.

Which member’s style you like the most?

Even though Hobi is the ultimate fashion icon, I lean towards Jungkook’s style a lot. Black on black on black.

Who's the funniest member?

Probably Jin, he’s hilarious and knows how to always lighten up the mood. Jungkook as well, he is sometimes just existing in a really funny way.

Who's the most comforting for you?

Jimin. Namjoon and Yoongi rank highly too, but everything about Jimin is so warm and fuzzy.

Who could be the scariest when he's pissed off?

People often say Hobi, but for me honestly Namjoon. Like, the few times I’ve seen him pissed off I was like damn, wouldn’t want him to look at me like that. Not to mention, I would feel really bad if I did something to annoy him.

The moment you laughed the most with them?

So many Run BTS episodes. But one of my faves is when Tae betrays Jimin in the episode where they had to stick little stickers on each other’s backs.

The moment you cried the most with them?

Well, I didn’t exactly cry, but my heart sank during Festa dinner 2022. It was my first Festa too and I was looking forward to it, and then everyone just seemed so sad. I hope to god Festa 2023 has a happier tone.

Your favourite BTS memory?

Aaah that whole week before Busan’s Yet to Come concert. So much was happening, everyone was excited, I cursed my luck for not being able to go, but I was preparing to watch the livestream of the concert. That was before the military announcement too, and it was great fun
