A/N: My first preference! There will be quite a few of these across quite a few fandoms so if you'd like to be tagged in future preferences or future stranger things posts please let me know in the comments! :) Also any Russian is taken straight from google translate so pre-apologies if I have butchered it! Enjoy!

Steve Harrington

Steve keeps his pet names quite generic, baby, babe, sweetheart. It's not so much the names he uses but how he says them. Most of the time he's most comfortable using the shortened version of your name or nickname he has for you, but the amount of affection he would put into it would make you melt. If he's being especially flirtatious you'd even occasionally get doll. He doesn't miss the effect it has on you when he calls you that.

Eddie Munson

Eddie is as theatrical with his pet names as he is with anything else in life. He loves to call you princess, especially during Hellfire meetings when he can incorporate you into his campaign. I think Eddie would switch between a few pet names to try to keep it interesting, baby, sunshine, sweetheart. It doesn't matter what he calls you it never fails to give you butterflies. Let's not pretend that if you two are hanging out in his trailer while you joke around and play air guitar together that he doesn't call you his little Rockstar.

Billy Hargrove

Billy's pet names for you depend on two things; his mood, and who you are around. In public you're only getting the less heartfelt pet names, he refers to you as his girl a lot in front of other people. Not only does he love the small smile it brings to your face but it also feeds into his possessive side, knowing that everyone knows you are his. When you two are alone and have been together for a while, Billy finally shoes a softer side of himself. He will compliment you a lot and attach all sort of pet names to those compliments, baby, sugar, sweet thing, still loving to resort to calling you his girl. You're mad at him and he's trying to make it up to you? Get ready for him to bargain his way back into your arms, wrapping his arms around you as he whispers in your ear, "Come on sweetheart, you know you can't stay mad at me."

Jonathan Byers

This soft, shy, adorable baby will probably be hesitant to use pet names for a long time. I honestly doubt you would hear them until you two begin to get intimate and he's too lost in the moment to think about what he's saying. He's pussy drunk and rambling into your neck, pet names would all be soft and sweet while he's chasing his high, beautiful and sweetheart would be at the top of his list. Getting high in his room? This sweet man would be telling you how you're his sunshine, rambling on in his delirium about how you light up his life.

Dmitri Antonov

While this man's English is very good, he still prefers to use pet names in Russian. There's something about the way he looks at you with his intense gaze as he slips back into his native tongue that just turns you into an absolute puddle. His favourites include котенок (kitten) and моя любовь (my love). The thought of this man holding you while you curl up in bed for the night, arms wrapped around you while he whispers endearing words in Russian into your ear is enough to bring butterflies to your stomach.

Jim Hopper

Let's not pretend like for a goooooooood while this man affectionately refers to you as kid even if you are barely a few years younger than him. He's a tough shell of a man that will refuse to open up or show his feelings for a long time, but when he does you realise its worth the wait. He doesn't throw around pet names and words of endearment a lot as he prefers to save them for moments when he feels it's right. When it's just the two of you and you're sharing a soft moment, sometimes referring to you as darling in his softer moments. Occasionally you might even get a cheeky baby.

Alexei

Another Russian baby, this adorable man will always call you pet names in Russian, it doesn't matter how much his English has improved. It just means more to him coming from his native tongue. His regular go to include голубь (Dove) and милый (Darling). Although, Murray taught him how Americans us Pumpkin as a term of endearment as a way to screw with you both and now it's one of Alexei's favourite things to call you. Jokes on Murray because seeing Alexei's face light up as he reaches for you and calls you pumpkin is enough to fall even more in love with him.

Murray Bauman

I feel like Murray cannot find it in himself to call you soft names to start off with. He's still confused by the fact that you even want to be with him, he's not going to possibly embarrass himself further using some pet names that might cross some invisible line he's set up for himself. He refers to as lady a lot, or another unique name that fits your looks of personality. Once this man is comfortable and more secure in your relationship I think the names would still stay light and not too sensitive. You would definitely get honey a lot, I don't think Murray would be able to resist yelling through the house when he gets home, "Honey, I'm home!"

Robin Buckley

Robin would also keep her pet names generic just like her bestie Steve, but less out of originality and more just to play it safe. Robin would have some insecurities going into a relationship after all the careful steps she took just to get to where you two are now. She is hesitant at first to say the wrong thing so she sticks to a lot of sweetheart and babe. One day you were spending time together and she slipped up and called you buttercup. She panicked for a second worrying what you would think of the nickname, but seeing your smile wiped all of those worries away and it became one of her favourite pet names so far.

Argyle

Okay so we all know this cutie is not going to call you any conventional pet names unless he's sober which is not very often. You're going to get a lot of my dude and bro but he does really mean it affectionately with you. Other than that you're definitely going to get a lot of made up names that mean absolutely nothing but to him they mean a lot; wicked lady, cream puff, anything. He would totally refer to you as "my queen" when he lets you into the van which he refers to as your chariot. Your favourite pet name would be the time he said, "My pretty girl is gonna get all the pizza she wants" he couldn't understand your reaction as you couldn't think of what to say next after hearing Argyle call you his pretty girl.

Henry/001

I whole heartedly believe this man would refer to you as pet. He does mean it endearingly but he also can't resist how you scrunch your nose up at hearing the teasing term. He also uses a lot of "My little..." whether it be bird, bunny, dove. He constantly feels the need to protect you and he shows that in his terms of endearment by referring to you as small and innocent. I know this man would call you his good girl, and you will have to pry that thought out of my cold dead hands.

A few hypothetical ideas about the Stranger Things play from this article :

This makes me think that Patty will be trying to bring out the more violent and revenge-seeking side of Henry because she was probably bullied a lot (?) and she grew resentful of all the people that made her feel like shit... Does she have "an edge" because she's so angry that she supports whatever Henry wants to do to people as long as they are people that she thinks deserve to suffer?

Henry is twisting the truth in the show saying that the fault of his actions are his parents and the world around him when in reality he was acting violently because he takes pleasure in torturing others ? Maybe he's not being that much mistreated like people think from what he said about his mother hating him?

Was Brenner trying to lock down Henry because Henry needed to be locked down? Did he keep trying to kill random people even after he was taken by Brenner?

Hopper, Bob & Joyce are going to investigate something and Hopper is the popular kid that gets paired with Bob "the brain" because Joyce is spiraling and believes in some conspiracy theory about something? Does she hear or see something that brings her to that?

Maybe Patty disappears because she runs away on her own and is being hidden by Henry in his attic because they are in love? Patty somehow ends up dying and that's the "traumatic event that bonds them" ?

The play is not a story that you absolutely need to see before s5 ... but they make some parallels about what ends up happening in season 5 in this story because they already knew the season 5 storyline when writing the play

Pairing: Henry Creel x FemByers!Reader 

Summary: Y/N Byers, her mom, Joyce, and Hopper sneak into Hawkins Lab to look for, and hopefully find Will. However, when Y/N separates from Jim and Joyce, she meets an odd character.

The stuffy closet felt like it was closing in on Y/N as she pressed her back against the wall. Then running footsteps of the Hawkins Lab guards echoed throughout the hallway, slowly getting softer.

Well, so much for sticking together. She thought to herself, praying that her mom and Hopper weren’t in the same predicament as her. 

They were supposed to stick together to look for Will. But no, one guard noticed them and they had to split off. 

Y/N pressed her ear to the door, sighing when she heard silence. She slowly opened the door, peeking her head out and scanning her surroundings. Stepping out, the Byers sister crept toward the end of the hall, listening for anyone else approaching.

Seeing that the coast is clear, she makes a run for it, hoping to find Hopper and her mom. 

“Umph!” she stumbles back, bracing herself for the hard floor. 

She opens her eyes. Where was the floor? Looking up, she gasps as she sees a blonde man staring back at her. He has a smile on his face, and somehow it’s unsettling.

His arms are wrapped around her shoulders, keeping her steady. Y/N quickly scrambles out of his grasp. 

“I…” she starts.

“You seem lost.” The man says, studying her. 

All she can do is nod dumbly, frozen in place. Oh, was she in for it now? He isn’t dressed like a guard. Maybe he was a higher-up? The all-white outfit suggests it. 

What would he do to her? Is he going to torture her? Kill her? What if he thinks she’s some spy?! 

He chuckles at her stunned silence. He can’t help but find her adorable. 

“Are you meeting someone here, miss?” he asks, his arms now folded behind him.

No, she can’t tell him the truth. But boy is she tempted to. The man is alluring, his gaze pulling her in. 

She takes a breath, standing taller. He doesn’t seem to be armed. Good, she has a taser in her jacket pocket if he tries anything. 

“I’m looking for my younger brother. He went missing, and I have reason to believe he’s here.” she confesses. 

He hums and nods, taking in her words. 

“Why on earth would you think he’s here?” 

“When we organized a search party, I went out on my own.” A lie. “I found his jacket by a hole in the fence surrounding the lab.” Another lie. “I figured he somehow made his way here and is being held hostage for some freaky experiment.” Not a complete lie.

Henry nods again. “I can help you look for him.”

What?

“What?” Y/N asks, not sure if she’s heard him correctly.

“I’ll help you look for your brother, Miss. He must be scared. All alone in a big place like this. If he’s even here.” he continues. 

He supposes it will give him more time with her. To…figure her out.

“Why…?” Y/N asks, uncertainty lacing her tone. 

He shrugs. “I may work here, but it doesn’t mean I’m fond of this place. The man in charge of this lab takes security very seriously. Even if your brother is young, he wouldn’t hesitate to rid of him.” 

Y/N can’t help but gasp at his words. Now she’s hoping that Will isn’t here.

He suddenly motions her to follow him, leading the woman through the maze of halls.

Somewhere in the upsidedown…

Henry sensed someone in the underground. A child. And the child was scared. He kept calling out to different people.

“Mom…?! Jonathan, Y/N…?!” the boys shouted, curling in on himself.

“Will?! Will!” another voice shouts, catching Henry’s attention. 

The boy perked up, looking around frantically. 

“Y/N! Y/N, I hear you! Where are you?!” he shouts, starting to cry. 

“Will, oh my god! Will, we’re going to save you!” This Y/N person shouted, sounding like she had been crying herself.

He was intrigued. Who was this, Y/N person? 

It didn’t take long for Henry to find out who she was. Will’s older sister, and a college student at Hawkins Community College. And she was…beautiful.

Henry knew right then, that he was going to have her. No matter what.

“Where are we going?” Y/N asks, trying to keep up with his pace.

He’s silent for a moment, before speaking up. “There is a place called the Rainbow Room. It used to be a place where test subjects had their free time. It’s very appealing to a young child. I suspect he could’ve hidden somewhere in that room.”

She covers her mouth in shock. “So they do experiment on children!”. Y/N can’t help but tear up, praying that Will hasn’t been caught. 

Noticing her frightened behavior, Henry places a hand on her shoulder. “It will be okay, Miss. We will find your brother.” he reassures her, smiling when she calms down.

“Thank you,” she mumbles quietly. “I never got your name…” she says as she looks up at him.

“Peter, Ballard.” He answers. “And your name, Miss?” he asks, as if he didn’t already know. “Y/N Byers. It’s nice to meet you, Peter.”.

“Likewise, Miss Y/N.” He replies, stopping in front of the Rainbow Room. Henry opens the door, a twisted smile making its way onto his face as flashbacks of the massacre run through his mind.

“What…happened here…?” Y/N asks eyes widened at the dried blood painting the walls.

Henry frowns. “A tragedy in the ‘70s. One of the orderlies, Henry, who was in charge of the children had gone mad, killing them in cold blood.”

“That’s horrible…” She says, the hairs on her neck standing on end. 

They look around for Will, more so Y/N than Henry. He knew it would be useless, anyway. As she looked around, he thought to himself.

Y/N didn’t seem like she would go down without a fight, but maybe if he struck up a deal with her…

“He’s not here,” Y/N says dejectedly, running a hand through her hair. “Where could he be?!” she exclaims to herself, pacing back and forth. 

Henry coughs quietly, getting her attention. “Let’s keep looking, surely he’s here somewhere,” he suggests, already leaving the Rainbow Room.

Y/N quickly follows suit, trying to forget about the eerie room. She almost bumps into Henry’s back, when he comes to a stop. He quickly guides her into another closet, shutting the door with a soft, ‘click’.

She looks at him, confused. Henry glances at her, putting a finger to his lips. Only now does she realize their proximity to one another. She can’t help but blush, practically pressed against his chest. 

Her brow furrows. He seemed cold, and on top of that, his heart was beating so slow she was surprised at the amount of energy he had. And that he was alive in general.

Before she could ask any questions, he leaves the room, pulling her with him. He presses his front to her back, not letting her turn around. The turn out of the hall, and unbeknownst to Y/N, left behind the bodies of two guards.

Henry stops again at another door, turning to Y/N. 

“Close your eyes, Miss Y/N” he requests.

“Why-” “Just do so, please,” he says sternly, turning back to face the door. 

Once checking that her eyes are closed, he cracks open the door, making quick work of the scientists and guards inside. 

He takes Y/N’s hand, still making sure her eyes remain shut. 

When he tells her to open them, she is met with a rotting flesh-looking mass. There’s a glow coming from the opening. The only thing separating it from her is a glass wall. 

“What..the hell is that?!” she shrieks, reaching out for Henry’s arm. He smiles at the contact.

“This, Y/N, is a portal to another dimension,” he tells her, holding her arms gently.

“Is Will in there?”

Her question goes unanswered. “Just keep looking at the portal, Y/N,” he says, his head now next to hers, his voice a low whisper.

She does as told when suddenly, her surroundings change. She gasps. It looks just like the room she and Henry are in….but….abandoned. Dark. 

Y/N looks behind her, and Henry is gone.

“Peter?!” she shouts, hoping for a response. Going against her better judgment, she starts walking around, stepping over thick vines. 

The scene changes again, and suddenly she is in a forest, silence enveloping her. 

“Peter?!” she shouts again, frantically looking all around her. Y/N hears a rustling in the bushes and turns her head to the sound.

“Who’s there…?” she shakily asks.

“Y/N…”

A voice says, making her jump.

“Peter!” she exclaims, recognizing the voice. “What is this place? Is Will here?” she asks into the air, still looking around.

“He is, Y/N. This is The Underground,” he answers.

“He’s here!” she exclaims “Where…exactly?”

“I’m right here, Y/N,” Comes Will’s voice from behind her, making the woman quickly turn to face him.

She runs to Will, hugging him tightly, sobbing into his shoulder.

“Oh, Will! God, I thought I lost you forever, Will!” she says, not wanting to let go. Despite her relief, she feels that something is off. Will hasn’t hugged her back.

Pulling away, she sees the terrified expression on his face. He’s focused on something behind her, and she freezes as well.

Y/N slowly turns to look at what Will is staring at, gasping at the sight.

Standing on all fours is a hairless-looking beast. Its mouth slowly opens up to reveal rows and rows of sharp teeth. Y/N quickly stands in front of Will protectively.

Something shoves her out of the way, and the beast lunges for Will.

“No!” Y/N shrieks in horror, trying to run to Will, but tripping over a vine. As she tries to stand, the vine wraps around her ankle, and another comes out of the ground to wrap around her middle.

“Wh-What’s going on?! Will!” She continues to holler but stops when she sees nothing in front of her. 

“You’ve seen what happens to your brother if he stays here, Y/N.” Henry suddenly says, stepping from his spot behind a tree.

“Peter! Peter, what’s happening? Where’s Will?!” she’s crying now, trying to break free of the vines.

He quickly shoes her, kneeling in front of her restrained form. “Don’t cry, my dear. Will is perfectly fine. Or, he will be once you agree to my terms.” 

Her eyes widen. “What?” she says quietly, the color draining from her face.

“Oh dear, you still don’t understand. That’s okay,” he gently caresses her cheek.

“I can bring Will back to your dimension if you become my eternal bride in this one,” he states, giving her an unsettling smile. 

“You’re sick, Peter.” she snaps, hatred seeping its way into her veins. 

“Now, Now,” he tuts, “That’s not my real name, Darling.”

Her heart drops. 

“Henry…?” she lets out, her voice only a whisper.

He nods, “Correct, Darling! Just think, we can make this world our own, I can give you everything you’ve ever wanted. We can enslave your dimension, and rule over it. Or of course, I leave Will here to die, and make you live with the weight of your brother’s death until you too perish.”.

Y/N stays silent, her tears now dried up. Her decision was made.

“I will stay here with you. But you have to bring Will back to our dimension.” She says, glaring at Henry.

“You have my word, Darling.”

Ah yes! The name Henry. It appears several times. Let's discuss...

FIRST THING, lets talk about the meaning of Henry.

The German boy's name Henry means “house ruler.” This also relates to the name Hawkins which means...

The son or descendant of a 'Henry' x

SO, Henry essentially means father.

There's another relevant meaning for Henry as well:

A unit of electricity. "A henry, unit of either self-inductance or mutual inductance, abbreviated H, and named for the American physicist Joseph Henry. One henry is the value of self-inductance in a closed circuit or coil in which one volt is produced by a variation of the inducing current of one ampere per second." x

In ST1, we have this Henry.

Earl's friend.

He apparently went hunting and vanished. In the comic of Will's time in the UD, we see him there!

Then in ST3, we have this Henry.

This Henry is protesting Larry the Mayor. He says "He raised my property taxes, Jim. He forced me off my land." "Nothing proper about what that man did to us! To our town!"

In ST3 we also have... "Enzo's" which is Italian for Henry. AND...

"Henry's place"... by a farm. HMMM...

In ST4 we, of course, have this Henry.

And we have...

"Enzo" who has a son “Mikhail” (Russian for Michael) but Hopper insists that he’s not the father… hmm…

What do I gather from all of this?

I don't think this is all about Henry Creel. I think he is just another hint/piece of the puzzle.

Henry is/was a father. A father protesting another “father”/“Papa” (Larry/Laurence/Lonnie) about what he did to him and to “the town” (the town = Hawkins = son of Henry)

He was pushed off his land/murdered/blamed for crimes (???) (was his son was taken from him?)

“Edward Creel” could very well be a hint towards Ted Wheeler (Ted can be short for Edward)

“Enzo” is also a nickname for “Lorenzo”

Henry = Enzo = Lorenzo = Laurence = Lonnie…

I was seeing people on twitter saying how season 3 ruined the shows reputation and I'm curious, why do you think season 3 is the way it is? I think you already talked about it but I can't recall

I have talked about ST3, specifically in how the team has capitalized on its "out of place" vibe. ST3 sets up basically every arc of ST4 while also being a blatant criticism of both the US and the USSR.

Mike complains about things being too expensive and the fact that he can't buy anything on the money he's given—not like he used to. The mall, in tandem, is portrayed as a money-sucking community-crushing behemoth that's putting local folks out of business behind a veneer of trendy fun. Criticism of capitalism on small and large scale, front and center.

Then we have the Russian lab, which exists to show us that the "other side" (often glorified by less-knowledgeable haters of capitalism) is no better. Their lab is doing the same thing HNL did! HNL isn't unique. The Russian lab is kidnapping, drugging, and torturing kids—a preview of NINA and of Sullivans torturing Wallace for information—and they're trying to force open a gate without actually having anyone with abilities—a preview of Vecna and the Shadow cobbling together their own non-Eleven method of opening gates.

The Russian lab arc also serves to set up the Russian prison arc, which takes Joyce and Hopper out of the US entirely just in time to reveal that woah! Vecna is Henry Creel? And he's someone Joyce and Hopper both would have known? Gotta get them entirely out of the picture so nothing goes wrong with Vecna's plan in Hawkins. Can't have anyone questioning whether or not that's actually Henry.

From there, the Russian prison arc also sets up future reveals for ST5, specifically regarding HNL's 1979 massacre, that would have been harder to work with if the entire arc had stayed within the CIA. Putting it in the KGB, the "enemy" of the US, also allowed for paralleling in storytelling about where Hopper ended up vs where Henry ended up and how the situation in Dimension X all went down. It also allowed for some hinting on making assumptions (see: the Jamie-lookalike "Evil Russian" who ends up being a harmless Jazzercise teacher), on people using variations of Henry as a fake name to break someone out of prison (see: Enzo's connections to the NINA arc), AND on people putting on acts to get a desired result (see: Jim putting on an act to antagonize Dmitri to escape the pit with a lighter and booze, as compared to TFS Brenner putting on an act to antagonize Henry into showing him the true extent of the Mindflayer vs Jim putting on an act to scare "Victor" into spilling truth about the attack on Mr. Newby, etc).

None of that ^^ would have been possible without the much-hated ST3 Russian arc. It's called foreshadowing and plot scaffolding, aka "secret tools that will help us later". They're laying breadcrumbs and hoping the viewer is dumb enough to go "UGH evil Russians? Of course 🙄" until ST5 comes around and blow it all out of the water. It's the same as the people who shit on 2.07 as a whole, saying it drags and feels out of place. That may be so, but there's a reason why it's there and a message it's there to deliver (setting up Jane fuckery and laying the bricks for "NINA isn't real/it's influenced by El's prior memories").

Also, has anyone stopped to think that maybe the vibe of ST3 is off because it's the starting point for all the relationships deteriorating? The Party growing up and drifting apart? It feels weird because everything is weird?

And people bitch about not getting fun/"beach" episodes anymore, but then ST gives you a summer fun + horror season and suddenly y'all don't want it?????? ST3 is fun! It's bright and colorful like summer! Idk. Sometimes I think people are just inventing guys to get mad at.
