→ KEI'S GIF PACK DIRECTORY!
Since Tumblr terminated my previous account, where I stored every gif pack I ever made, I decided to upload them in a separate one just in case this one gets nuked too. This is the link to the directory, but I will also post a list in alphabetical order under the cut so you know which ones I've made so far. Some of them are in a payhip page, the rest are in their respective Tumblr page.; most of them are for free, a couple of them are paid.
If you like, use or plan to use any of them, please spread the word! I won't be making an individual post for them again, so a reblog to this post helps too. Thanks!

canon starter call - open to anyone !
i have a strong urge to write some canon muses, so if you would be interested in writing against any of the canon muses listed under the READ MORE below, please comment/IM me and i can send a starter your way or reply to one of your starters.
i do not require you to know anything about my muse's canon, but i'm more than happy to tell you about it if you ask. i'd be happy to write canon muses against your ocs! also, mixing fandoms is 100% ok with me unless your canon muse is problematic and makes me uncomfy. my canon muses do not have all their memories or relationships from their life unless we plot it, but they will have the same general personality/ambitions.
if you are willing to write against my canon muses but don't care which, just like this post, and i'll take a look at your open starters and/or send you a closed starter at random with a muse i think fits the vibe.
*please don't agree to write against my canon muses if you're one of those picky weirdos that will be up in arms if i don't write a cannon muse exactly how you would.
( if you'd prefer to write against an oc muse only, check this post. )

Trina Robbins
American cartoonist and author whose pioneering work in comics included being the first female artist to draw Wonder Woman
The American illustrator and writer Trina Robbins, who has died aged 85, began her career in comics in her native New York in the 1960s as a contributor to the counterculture newspaper East Village Other. She also drew and wrote strips for Gothic Blimp Works, an underground comic.
Then came comic strips, covers and spot illustrations for the underground publications Berkeley Tribe and It Ain’t Me, Babe, often described as the first feminist newspaper, before before she put together an all-women comic, It Ain’t Me, Babe Comix (1970), followed by the anthology All Girl Thrills (1971) and the solo comic Girl Fight Comics (1972).
Her black heroine, Fox, was serialised in Good Times (1971) and another of her characters, Panthea, who first appeared in Gothic Blimp Works (1969), was a regular in Comix Book (1974-76).
She also became one of the 10 founders of Wimmen’s Comix, an all-female underground comics anthology published from 1972 to 1992, and in the late 70s was a contributor to High Times, Heavy Metal, National Lampoon and Playboy.
Later she adapted the 1919 novel Dope, by Sax Rohmer, for Eclipse Comics (1981-83) and wrote and drew Meet Misty (1985-86) for Marvel. She was also the first woman to draw Wonder Woman, in The Legend of Wonder Woman (1986).
Robbins’ wider interest in the history of girls’ comics led her to co-write a book about the genre, Women and the Comics (1986), with Catherine Yronwode, and later A Century of Women Cartoonists (1993), followed by a number of biographies of female comic pioneers, including Nell Brinkley, Lily Renée, Gladys Parker and Tarpé Mills.
Born in Brooklyn, she grew up in Queens, where her mother, Bessie (nee Roseman) was a teacher. Her father, Max Perlson, was a tailor who later wrote for Yiddish-language newspapers and published a collection of stories, A Minyen Yidn (1938), that was turned by Trina into a comic anthology in 2017.
At the age of 10 she graduated from reading wholesome animal comics to Millie the Model, Patsy Walker and others with female protagonists. The Katy Keene comic was especially influential, as it encouraged Robbins to make paper dolls and design clothing for them. She was also a huge fan of the jungle adventuress Sheena.
Having discovered science fiction at 14, Robbins began attending conventions, and at one such gathering she met the short story writer Harlan Ellison. At 21 he was five years her senior, but they dated briefly and he later wrote her into his film The Oscar (1966) as Trina Yale, played by Edie Adams.
Trina attended Queens College before studying drawing at Cooper Union, although she dropped out after a year. In 1957 she married the cartoonist Art Castillo; they moved to the Bay area of Los Angeles until he disappeared to Mexico and the relationship ended.
Working for a time as a model for men’s magazines, she was a cinema usherette when she met Paul Robbins, whom she married in 1962 following Castillo’s death. Her new husband wrote for the LA Free Press, which gave her access to the Byrds, Bob Dylan and other musicians, and she began making clothing to sell to musician friends, including Mama Cass.
Returning alone to New York in 1966 (she and Robbins eventually divorced, in 1972), she opened a boutique called Broccoli on East 4th Street, making clothes for exotic customers and having flings with a number of them, including the Doors’ singer Jim Morrison and the activist Abbie Hoffman; she also had longer relationships with Paul Williams, editor of Crawdaddy magazine, and the cartoonist Kim Deitch, with whom she set up a cartoon art museum on East 9th Street.
Her clothes-making got her into a song by Joni Mitchell, who wrote in Ladies of the Canyon that “Trina wears her wampum beads / She fills her drawing book with line / Sewing lace on widows’ weeds / And filigree on leaf and vine”.
After she had sold her boutique in 1969 and began to make her living in comics, there was no looking back.
Apart from her writing and illustrating activities over the years, in 1994 she became one of the founders of Friends of Lulu, a US-based charity that promotes the reading of comic books by women and the participation of women in the comic book industry.
Her later work on the history of women in comics produced three further books, From Girls to Grrrlz (1996), The Great Women Cartoonists (2001) and Pretty in Ink (2013).
She also wrote a number of books for children, starting with Catswalk: The Growing of Girl (1990), and including the Chicagoland Detective Agency series (2010-14) of bizarre high school mystery adventures.
For adults she wrote The Great Women Superheroes (1996), Eternally Bad: Goddesses With Attitude (2001), Tender Murderers: Women Who Kill (2003) and Wild Irish Roses: Tales of Brigits, Kathleens and Warrior Queens (2004).
Her most recent comic was Won’t Back Down (2024), a pro-choice anthology.
She is survived by her partner, Steve Leialoha, a daughter, Casey, from her relationship with Dietch, and her sister Harriet.

The People Issue 2024: Renaissance Woman Bebe Buell
The longtime rock ’n’ roller has landed her spaceship in Nashville, and she intends to stay
Kelsey Beyeler
Mar 7, 2024
A musician, writer and longtime “it girl,” Bebe Buell has lived a mystical life in the world of rock ’n’ roll — a life most could only dream of, from growing up in the South to living with nuns, weaving herself into New York City’s 1970s arts scene, raising actress Liv Tyler and juggling various creative projects of her own.
Buell’s heart has always been in music. She could have pursued acting, prolonged her successful modeling career or even married one of her many rock-star lovers, but Buell had her own life to live, her own stories to tell, her own songs to sing. And she still does.
The Scene recently caught up with Buell backstage at a 3rd & Lindsley show dedicated to New York City’s ’60s and ’70s rock scene. She was there to join legendary local cover outfit The Long Players and her husband Jim Wallerstein, who formerly played with Das Damen and co-produces Buell’s music. On this recent Saturday night, Buell recounted her friendships with Patti Smith and Nico before singing “Because the Night,” “Femme Fatale” and other tunes in her rich contralto croon. While the show was dedicated to others’ music, Buell has her own discography — dating back to the ’80s and featuring a wide range of raw, energetic rock tunes both as a solo artist and with her bands The B-Sides and The Gargoyles. Throughout her music career, she’s worked with heavy hitters including Todd Rundgren, Rick Derringer and Ric Ocasek, as well as local legends like Jon Tiven and Dave Roe.
Buell spent most of her life in NYC. But after recording a track for Plowboy Records’ tribute album You Don’t Know Me: Rediscovering Eddy Arnold in 2012, she was enticed by the spiritual connection she felt with Nashville. Since relocating, she says she’s formed countless friendships and performed at just about every venue in town, including frequent appearances at the recurring Thee Rock N’ Roll Residency.
Bebe Buell Photo: Angelina Castillo
“I wanted to come here to really get good at my craft,” says Buell. “Getting to live in this town and be an active participant in the musical community is a dream come true.”
Last year, Buell released her second book — Rebel Soul: Musings, Music & Magic. A follow-up to 2001’s Rebel Heart, the book is a mosaic of memories that combines past experiences and present insights. Landing somewhere between memoir and scrapbook, Rebel Soul invites readers to consider not just the glamour but also the pain of a rock ’n’ roll lifestyle.
“I watched that life swallow up a lot of women that couldn’t hold on to their identity, and drug dependency destroyed a lot of beautiful lives,” says Buell.
“I live it every day,” says Buell of honoring those memories without getting lost in the past. “I’m an active singer, songwriter, performer, writer. I have bestsellers. I am not just sitting there, melancholy, thinking about the cool guys I dated when I was 24.”
Frustrated by local challenges such as the GOP-controlled state legislature’s attacks on reproductive rights, Buell was considering leaving Tennessee when Rebel Soul was released. But events like the Covenant School shooting and the subsequent expulsions of Democratic state Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson — along with the Republican supermajority’s attempted expulsion of Knoxville Democrat Gloria Johnson — have since convinced her to stay. “I’m not turning my back on this town,” she says.
“I realized that I want to be here to help with the change. I want to use my voice, not to hurt anybody, not to call people names, not to finger-point, not to point out what’s obviously wrong — we already know what’s wrong. What we need to do now is focus on what we can do to make it right.”

Connections between the Roller Crew and the Studio Gang in my post-canon universe
León and Simón are cousins from their mothers' sides. They saw each other occasionally as kids, but not as often since Leon lived in BA since his mom kind of followed his dad there during the early days of their relationship. They kind of reconnect maybe a year before Simon's wedding and start texting. After Simón and Àmbar get married the Roller band collaborates with All Four You. Violetta and León often come to see Ivory and Esme, and occasionally even babysit the girls
Matteo and Federico are second cousins from Matteo's mom's side. They lose touch once his mother dies and Matteo started moving around. They reconnect in 2022 (more on that lower) and Matteo does do a collaboration with All four you as well.
Matteo tries out for Eurovision 2022 Eurovision for Italy, and befriends a fellow Italian musician during the auditions, Francesca. Fran is the one to make the connection between Matteo and Federico (since they do look alike). Matteo and Fran end up doing multiple collaborations together. She and Fede also perform at Luna and Matteo's wedding in 2025.
Gastón works for German's engineering combany: Castillo Corporation, so he and Nina end up attending a lot of parties and charity events due to that. Violetta and Leon also often attend them, they become quite friendly with each other and often hang out at the events together. Gastón and Nina end up being invited to Violetta and Leon's wedding and if I end up going the route that Gastón becomes the CEO of Castillo Corporations (I am not sure of that headcanon yet, It is either that or full-time professor at a university), it will be due to Violetta's endorsement as the future owner of the company. Leon and Gastón also bond over having their ladies being into wearing wigs and tricking them.
Violetta and Francesca are also huge fans of Nina's books, Fran lets Matteo hear it when she finds out that her favorite author is the wife of his best friend. Both of them become celebrity ambassadors for the books and they commission Nina to write a duet for the in the future
Delfi ends up directing music videos for couple of Studio Gang members
Everyone who does music from the Roller crew counter Broduey at some point for choreo
Jim and Yam courtesy of their careers, end up working some time frames at the studio, so they end up working with Ludmila (if anyone remembers my headcanon about Ludmila being the one ending up working to the studio, after career-ending injury)

Soul Mates
Author’s Note: Soul mate au is always a popular trope so this is my little take on it. Enjoy!
“Elena, are you there?” A soft knock at the door interrupted Elena’s time gazing out the window.
Which was a lie. She had been zoning out, trying not to think about the latest turn her life threw at her and tge knock at the door was only reminding her of it.
The soft, unsure voice, one who usually gave her so much comfort and joy. . . now she wished it would go away. Just enough for her to get her thoughts together.
But her thoughts immediately went to him anyway. His hazel eyes filled with understanding. Remembering the feel of his comfy wizard robes. The slight curls of his hair brushing her forehead when he leaned close. How he made her feel safe, special, like the only girl in the room.
But then the image went distorted. The surroundings changed to that of an arid jungle. His wizard robes were replaced by a cotton tunic and feathered mask just as he looked the first time they met.
The first time they met. . . 1,000 years ago in the Maruvian age.
When those disturbing images had come, she had frst thought it was some new power from Takaina manifesting. But when she described these strange flashbacks it was IXlan who provided an explanation.
“Youa re the reincarnation of Queen Itzel Malezas. Her blood runs through your veins as you are the rulers of Avalor. Her life runs through your mind.”
“No, no, no you mean I am descended from Queen Itzel. I don’t- we’re not- I’m not reincarnated!”
But no. She was a descendant of Queen Itzel as most of the Castillo family line was, but she was the specific reincarnation of Itzel because of her relationship with Mateo according to Quita Moz.
Queen Itzel had married her royal wizard, a relationship they swore would last for lifetimes. Now it seemed their wish was fulfilled.
Then Mateo admitted he had been seeing those strange flashbacks too. That he had freaked out and researched for the answer but had stayed quiet because he thought he was alone in experience.
Not so much. She tried to ignore it. She could ignore a few moments of deha vu but when she kissed him, the feeling became so strong. It was like shw was thrown out of her body and watching someone else. Watching Itzel and her husband dance together, feeling a rush of immense maternal love holding their child. Gripping jim as tight as she could as the final darkness descended upon them, a tiny bit thankful that at least she was with him.
All these memories she had never experienced.
Yet she had.
She couldn’t wrap her mind around it. If she was reincarnated, did it mean her feelings for Mateo, so wonderful and comforting, was just her repeating history?
“Elena, may I come in? If you want?” Her heart ached from how unsure he sounded. That wasn’t like them, they were always so in sync.
Or was it Itzel and her love that were always in sync?
On the other hand, she really wanted Mateo right now. She had been avoiding him for two days and she missed him. She knew she actually missed him because the pain wasn’t as powerful as when she experienced the deja vu. It was a “regular” sort of longing so to speak. She always felt better after their talks, he understood her whole also challenging when he disagreed. He wasn’t patronizing though. He was Mateo. Sweet, dependable, and so much more.
“Can we talk?” Mateo stepped inside, hesitantly sitting next to her.
Too hesitant. She hated that. They relied on each other, trusted each other in their most vulnerable moments and now this stupid reincarnation had them both on edge.
“Yes, we can.” Elena took his head in hers and instinctively curled her fingers into his, his eyes looking directly in her own, waiting patiently for her to say something but she felt her throat constrict.
She cared for Mateo. . . she was pretty sure she loved him even though it took her a while to grasp her own burgeoning feelings as something stronger than friendshop. But now, she didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t that she thought he would get upset or mad at her but it was also so complicated. The situation was insane.
Mateo sensed her conflict and spoke first. “I know this situation is not ideal. . . It’s crazy and weird and it feels like everything we’ve been through together is-It’s tainted somehow because it was destined or reincarnated or whatever. That’s why I didn’t want to tell you about my flashbacks. I-I didn’t want you to think I only loved you because I had to.” “Do you?” Elena felt her chest constrict tightly at this. Did this mena he realized that his feelings for her weren’t real? Were hers? Should they break up?
“No, I don’t think so. I don’t really know what Itzel was really like. But I love you for your passion, your fierce spirit in fighting for Avalor and all the people here. I love your compassion and the way you laugh at your own puns. I love your sweet tooth and the adventures we get into. You make me smile, you make me believe that I could be better than I thought I was. All of that is undeniably you and that’s why I fell in love.”
Elena’s breath caught in her throat yet better than that, her mind cleared of the pounding in her head and the pounding of her heart when Mateo was near that felt like she was going to die.
She felt grounded. . . normal. As if all the magic that surged inside f her since the Well of Takaina was gone. She was focused on everything Mateo said, remembering each of the small moments, and big adventures, the reasons she loved him.
Her doubts faded away. They loved each other, no reincarnation could influence that. Mateo was Mateo and she was still herself. They were different people than Itzel and her wizard. Just similar circumstances.
“I love you too,” and she sprung forward to kiss him. His lips were at once familiar and exhilarating after their separation. Her mind blissfully blank of any thoughts or flashbacks.
They pulled away, flushed, only for the necessary air.
“Did you feel anything?” Mateo asked
Air, and apparently to see if anything changed.
“No,” Elena panted, grinning brightly and clasping her hands together to keep from pouncing again.
“Oh,” Mateo rubbed his neck, “I did. But-but that’s okay. We’re just starting out. We’ll. . We’re going to make our own memories soon enough. It could overpower the ones of our reincarnations. They can’t touch our memories at the Tepet Muul or facing Shuriki in Coronando.
“You’re right,” Elena moved closer, almost onto his lap, a mischievous idea coming into her mind.
“You know those flashbacks that happen when we’re kissing. . . would the solution be to have grander, more memorable kisses?”
“You are an irrepressible minx, you know that?” Mateo smiled, but he did as she wished nonetheless.

Movie Review | Miami Vice: Calderone's Return (Glaser & Colla, 1985)
This series has been defined in part by its maddening roster of guest stars, with the likes of Bruce Willis, Pam Grier and Dennis Farina in memorable turns, to name a few. I'm into the second season now*, but I wanted to come back to this one, as one guest star in particular has lingered in my memory: Jim Zubiena, who plays the assassin hired by Calderone to a number of his enemies, including Crockett. Zubiena, a professional shooter initially hired to teach Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas proper weapons handling**, was pushed into the role by Michael Mann, and his non-actor background plays a big part in his effectiveness in the role. Those other guest stars bring to their roles their presence, bringing their personalities and star qualities to the material. One of the reasons Willis is so memorable in his episode is that his formidable charisma is applied to a character so unheroic. (A weapons dealer who sells to terrorists and beats his wife. Just a bad guy in all respects.)
Zubiena does not have the same star qualities, so instead he brings a certain absence, of charisma, of distinguishing features, leaving only an eerie blankness. No humanity, all killer instinct and craft, a pure instrument of death. His appearance, curly hair, shooting glasses and a slight smile, causes any facial features to recede into the nondescript. His lack of allegiances, having worked every side of every conflict, give him a sense of total amorality. Even his weapons handling (the deployment of the Mozambique drill, heretofore unseen on television, and holding guns overhand to control the recoil) is simultaneously unusual and practical, operating on a hidden logic not spelled out to the audience, like the imminence of death in an Italian horror movie. Even when he's not on screen, he haunts the proceedings, a spectral presence with an unsettling void at his centre.
Unlike Brother's Keeper, this aired in two parts, with an interesting diptych structure, both halves being punctuated by off-kilter, unceromonious violence and ending with songs featuring soaring vocals (Russ Ballard's "Voices" in the first part, Tina Turner's "What's Love Got to Do With It?" in the second). There is plenty to enjoy in both, but as Zubiena only appears in the first, and the second depends on a relationship between Tubbs and Calderone's daughter that can't be fully fleshed out in the runtime, I can't help but prefer the earlier half.
*I've found the series almost uniformly excellent, with only two subpar episodes so far. "Made for Each Other", which makes the mistake of foregrounding the comic relief characters of Switek and Zito and as such plays with little tension, although it does provide the scene where Noogie's stripper girlfriend grabs him by the ears and shouts in his face "I wanna see Mickey Mouse!" And "Nobody Lives Forever", in which Crockett (re)learns the age old lesson of putting one's bros before their hoes, and which has the misfortune of coming after "The Home Invaders", which features more unpredictable and sadistic villains (and shows Castillo crack a case in real time), and before "Evan", which explores Crockett's vulnerability much more interestingly and tackling the subject of homophobia with unexpected sensitivity.
**Apparently Johnson took to it better than Thomas, and this was a motivation behind the latter's weapons of choice. You can hear Zubiena talk about the experience here.

EXCALIBUR #19
EXCALIBUR #19
