So, do y’all remember when Jikook first enlisted together and Jimin posted little check-ins on Weverse to give us an update on how he and Jungkook were doing? Remember when he did that and some asshats got ALLLLLL up in arms about how Jimin was “doing fan-service, and speaking for Jungkook, and using Jungkook for clout” and a whole bunch of other BS? Remember that? And remember how suddenly, we didn’t hear from Jimin much anymore? We got a post about Lunar New Year in early March and then one other post about MUSE in July. That’s it. Nothing about them personally, no mention of Jungkook. My bet (and this is just my opinion, of course), is that he just said “NOPE. No more posts from me about us. Not worth it.” Of course, “people” (cult *cough, cough*) will make of it what they will. But the most important thing I remembered is that Jimin was WITH Jungkook on his birthday, and I think it’s safe to say that he wished him much happiness and good fortune… IN PERSON. They enlisted together for a reason. For them “being beside each other” for tough times and happy times, to support each other every day, says so much more than a post on Weverse ever could.

Jm’s 2021 Birthday Live

I’ve recently seen a couple of posts on jm’s birthday live from 2021 pop up on my tl. This live has also seemingly sparked some general discussion on 2021 jkk.

So, I’m gonna share my own experience🫶🏽

I remember watching this live in real-time. It started off with typical Jimin antics (which was literally just him exisiting and being the most adorable being on earth). It was his first solo live in a while so, understandably, he was feeling a little bit awkward. Nevertheless, he talked with us, answering some comments, reading birthday wishes and sharing some recent updates. It went on like this for a couple of minutes until he apparently couldn’t take the silence anymore😭

About 10 minutes in, he suddenly goes:

“I’m gonna call someone to guest on this live with me, kay?”

AND THEN, I find myself watching, absolutely stunned, as the man ducks out of frame and crawls (??) under the table to make his call.

At this point, we were just watching the abandoned wheely chair while jm is talking in the softest, most baby tone to whoever is on the other end of the line. I really wanna emphasise his tone cause I’d never heard him talk like that before. Anyways, he continues asking that person to join him on the live and I remember thinking ‘hah it’s probably jk’🤪 (cause literally who else does he speak to like that?)

Jm finally emerges from the depths of the table, asking the other person if he can put him on speaker. Of course, turns out it was jk.

So, jk abandons his work out session with the bros to come keep jm company on his live (someone did the maths💀 and apparently he travelled 15 storeys or something from the hybe gym to get to jm in under 2 minutes). Bro dropped everything as soon as that phone call ended.

(Honestly, I would too if jm was asking so sweetly.)

Jk shows up and obviously, those two have me cheesing the whole time. Jm slaps a tiddie, soju is brought onto the premises and even hobi comes by.

Now, Hobi’s little visit was interesting. Interesting cause he asks jm “why are you in jk’s studio?😋🤨”.

Now, I didn’t really pay any heed to that. It could’ve just been a genuine question BUT, jm has this reaction that had me raising a brow. He ducks his head and smiles shyly?? Here I was thinking that little offhand comment wasn’t too deep but, apparently it was. He even chokes on his water a little when hobi keeps teasing. Considering jk’s head is out of frame, we don’t know what his reaction was (let’s assume he was smiling. he’s a smiley guy after all:)).

Anyway, they continue until jk has to leave. Cue jm begging him not to and jk replying back with the most indulgent tone abjabsjsjjs. It was so cute.

Anyway, it is as the allegations state, they were insufferable in 2021. The tannies were holding the ptd concerts and, afterwards, those two would always be hanging out together in their hotel rooms (jms words not mine). They were really stuck at the hip and yes, jm went through this seemingly random phase of being uber-shy and bashful around jk.

It was a fun year for us jokers!

Jikook Week 44 Complete (08/10-15/10/2024)

Their 44th week in the military is now complete. It's time to celebrate with a look back at this week in 2014.

This was the Dark & Wild era and in researching this post I was drawn back to Beyond the Story to reread what the members and particular J-Hope & V said about promoting Danger, the title track.

"All those performances for "Danger" were really exhausting. When we had that comeback with "Danger" releasing the Dark & Wild album, we'd done about twenty music show pre-recordings and then went to a different program where they announced first place. We were told we had to be there, so we went up there live, completely out of it. Then, it turned out we weren't even candidate for first place, which I think was a big shock." J-Hope

"It's fine if other teams are named as candidates for first place. We just need to work harder. But at the broadcasting stations, we'd always be the first to say hello and greet everyone, the seonbaes and the hubaes alike, but some people just ignored us and passed right by. Or mocked us for not being candidates for the top place.

After the broadcast, we all got into the van together...... Someone was crying, someone was getting really mad, and someone just couldn't speak. The unspeakable disappointment and that tear-jerking emotion was too much

That's when we thought, 'Hey us, let's do really well. So that no one will ever look down on us again.' Looking back, I'm glad we at least got a hold of ourselves back then (laughs). Because we all found our resolve, we had that determination and we all came together as one, swearing to become a really awesome group together" V

That belief that they were in this together and they only had each other comes out very strongly in their SM posts of the time and can perhaps be best illustrated by vmin's TwiX posts. These two romantic & sensitive 95 liners were also ambitious & determined to succeed together with their team.

This week in 2014 was the tail end of the Danger promo period and images and videos from previous performances were released.

For their Music Bank show there was a mission challenge to make a heart for the audience during the performance.

It's such a complete contrast their gentle laddish camaraderie in the dressing room compared to the tough macho attitudes they were portraying on stage.

JK "Are you kidding me? What am I to you?, Am I easy? Uh, are you playing with me?" JM "You're in danger now, Why are you testing me? Why are you testing me?, Don't make me confused

Even with the difficulties facing them off stage as soon as the lights went up they delivered smash performances EVERY SINGLE TIME.

This week was also countdown to the the Red Bullet Tour (17-19/10/2014) and the release of War of Hormone (21/10/2014).

Finally, this week it was Jimin's second birthday after debut and he spent it in the practice room.

Happy 27th Birthday, Jungkook.

Before the highly anticipated Are You Sure Sapporo episodes begin I wanted to take the opportunity to mention a few thoughts about the series so far.

In the beginning, they told us we'd see the fun, the not so fun and the chemistry between Jimin and Jungkook. The "real" them. I think they've delivered that so far.

They didn't have to leave in anything about Jimin's stomach issues. They didn't have to leave in anything that implied Jungkook wasn't sure what the shows would be about in those first moments of the series. For the first two U.S. episodes, there was enough footage that they could have edited together a couple of nice 30 minute episodes that showed them eating, drinking, kayaking, enjoying a yacht ride.

But they included the moments when Jungkook was sort of questioning the purpose of it all. They included the very real moments of Jimin not feeling well at all.

In the three Jeju episodes, they included the extra dynamic of Taehyung. By then, Jungkook was fully invested in the show being his and Jimin's. From the uncertainty of Tae's arrival and what to think of it to the final "glad he was with us" we got to see the three being real.

They were messy, sloppy, sleepy, distracted, and perfectly themselves.

There were a few moments when Jimin and Jungkook's natural flow seemed to catch Tae off guard. The things we saw were meant for us to see. The good, the bad and the ugly. Were there things actually edited out that we'll never see? Or maybe we'll see in one of the behind episodes? Possibly.

Did they roll with it and keep moving? Of course they did.

And now we are anticipating the first of the Sapporo episodes. I feel like we'll be very emotional by the last episode, not only because we've looked forward to this project for so long and hate to see it end but because we know what happens next.

These days they spent in Japan were mere days before they enlisted. They were facing their own "unknown." We know it had to be heavy on their minds. I don't want to try to predict what they'll talk about. I am not going to expect them to talk about anything specific. I just want to enjoy these next few episodes knowing they are together right now, Jimin wishing Jungkook a happy birthday, probably taking pics of him, and knowing they have ALL of these wonderful memories to share between them when they have those challenging days and knowing that they knew they'd chosen the right thing for themselves in enlisting together.

Why do you think Jimin decided to travel the world for 3 weeks without Jungkook back in 2019?

Here is a few things:

•They could have gotten a Tokyo 2.0, but decided not to.

•The little glimpses we got from JK during that time,... he looked quite sad

•I feel it in my gut that Jikook had a pivotal moment during their summer break in 2019.

I am not usually confident on speaking about Jikook fights/breaks seeing as I wasn't Army yet. As a late comer I only have others to rely on and I can't trust that 100%. It's always gonna be better consuming content in real time.

I do agree with most assessments that something was a bit wonky in 2019. And while what Jimin did for JK's birthday was HUGE and sweet and amazing, I do feel like it happened for a reason. Almost like it was crucial for him to do so. Like, think about it.

He went to great lengths to make it for that birthday. And he was only there for a short period before he had to leave again.

Jimin spent more time travelling than with JK. But for some reason he just had to be there. Something about this has always seemed...not sus, no. But like there was more to it. You know what I mean?

And we haven't even factored in the photo Jimin uploaded where its pretty clear JK had been crying. Why would JK cry on his birthday? My theory, which isn't really mine but rather an existing theory that I agree with, is that mans did not expect so see Jimin and was hella relieved that Mimi showed up.

Jimin had taken off for however long the Tannies were on holiday for, without JK and the latter thought for sure his bf wasn't going to be there for his birthday. We know this because the whole thing was a surprise.

Also, this was around the time (2018-2019) members were moving out of the dorm and getting their own places so we know Jikook had been inseparable until this point. And while it has always been common knowledge that Jimin had other friends outside of BTS, that wasn't the case for JK.

So members are scattered doing their own thing with their friends and family and JK is in Seoul doing what? Jikook are interdependent we already know this and JK's person is travelling Europe without him. So probably the very first time in years they've been away from eo, for this amount of time.

I can see this affecting satellite Jeon big time. And so when he's already accepted Jimin will be MIA for his big day, BOOM! their friend helps Jimin organise the surprise party for JK.

If Jikook were fighting like many seem to think, then JK was prolly so happy to see Jimin. He didn't expect him, for one. And also he didn't know how long the fight was gonna last for, so the waiting had prolly been torture. So Jimin showing up must have made JK so relieved and happy. Poor baby

That he went and tattooed JM on his hand to show his gratitude? His devotion? His commitment? Who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️

So why do I think they fought u ask? I do not know, anon. I wasn't around. But theories that make sense to me;

Jimin wanted them to enjoy their holiday separately?

They'd been inseparable for 8 years and Jimin thought some space would do them good?

Jimin wanted them to hang out with other people rather than just each other?

All theories insinuate whatever separation was happening during this time was Jimin's call. Because if it was up to JK they would spend 24/7 together and he would be just fine. As long as he has Jimin, is all good.

And because Jimin knows his baby has separation anxiety, he made sure to @least come back for JK's birthday. Even if it would only be for a few hours before he was off traveling again.

JK's birthday 2019

Let's talk about JK's birthday in 2019.

I know it's a long time ago, but I got to thinking about it again and it just filled me with joy. And who am I to deprive you guys of some delusional joy as well? Right?

So, I think I am actually going to start from the end on this one.

JM flying half way across the world, from Paris...

to be with JK on his birthday only to have to fly out the next morning to Hawaii with Sungwoon.

And he does this all by surprising JK, who was not expecting him to be there with him, as he knew JM was in Paris, sly JM even sending him a kind of generic happy birthday message from Paris. You know, making sure JK KNOWS that he is still there on the streets of Paris all while JM was already on his way to be with him.

JM loved to tell us all about it in his Riad live (you know, the one he also told us how happy he was with the surprise birthday celebration JK arranged for him during their concert there, oh and the same one we got him eying his "manager").

All of this happened on JK's birthday itself at night time (JM tells us he arrived back in SK 8-9 pm). But see, JK started off his birthday for us.

Wait. Was it for us? Or more so, was it only for us? Or was it perhaps also meant for that one person that wasn't there on that day. The one person that was in Paris, and whom JK believed was not going to be spending his birthday with him. The one person that flew half way across the world to surprise JK, and he sure did.

I know at this point I could be considered to be reaching a little bit, but hear me out here. Yes, JK was sending Army a message (well a few of them as you will see), but I do think that within those messages (this is something that those two are so good at), he was also sending another message, and it wasn't just for us. Although you could argue that in a sense it was also for us (letting us know who was on his mind at that point in time).

So here we go.

JK posts on Weverse on the eve of his birthday. This is just after midnight, specifically at 00:22 or 12:22 am KST.

This one is clearly for Army (not the one who declares himself to be Army).

Following that, JK moves on to Twitter, where he tweets twice exactly 40 minutes later. 2 tweets, one minute apart from each other.

Just looking at those numbers we can get:

If we look at the date as 1.9.19 then we have the 13-10 and 1-9 as well. Go figure.

Who knows... maybe if we look into it a little further we will have more facts that can show us either way.

Could definitley be meant, once again, for us. Even though he already thanks us for making him happy. But what if this time it wasn't meant specifically for us. I mean, he already thanked us in a long message only 40 minutes earlier. What if the earlier one was for us, and this one here, with the timing of the posting, was meant for a special someone else, who happened to be far away from him.

Perhaps his choice to split his posts, his thanks, was because they were meant for 2 different recipients? Perhaps, this was just like him splitting up his White day live in 2023 into 4 segments. Each one of those segments with a clear purpose and you could also say a specific audience (at least for one of those 4 the intended audience was not us).

Yeah, I know, call me deluded. Call me crazy and call me whatever, but you know, I really don't think it's that far fetched.

And even more so when within a minute he tweets again. This time he uploads his gift - a snippet of his song Decalcomania.

Captioned: "This... Please look forward to it".

So yeah, I'm finding it hard to conclude this is all a coincidence, seeing JM himself told us it's not...

One more thing before I go.

JK's 2019 birthday was a big one. It happened when the band were on break. When JM was using this time to travel with friends (not that they didn't spend time together, JK basically tells us that in BV4). A time with a couple of yucky dating rumors. A time of self reflection. This was a break where JK had his hand tattoos done, and surprisingly (NOT) added that very 'inconspicuous' J just above the M after his birthday.

So yeah, this here my friends, is a hill, or even more so a mountain, that I am climbing up and are pretty confidently willing to die on...
