I was able to catch up with the latest chapter of Dandadan, and I really enjoyed reading the manga. There are so many things I love about it but the thing that I love the most is that there are no boring chapters /arcs (at least for me) probably because they start the new arc right away after just finishing the other, like the story is not being dragged longer by having a chapter where nothing really happens, and it feels like the genre of the series changes every arc which is really interesting, it's crazy it's like you're reading a different manga with the same characters everytime . Also I love that the arcs always ends with them eating dinner together after going through a life threatening battles.
As for the characters, I really love Momo and Okarun so much and of course the whole gang but I'm gonna be biased, Momo is my favorite from all of them. I just love female characters who looks like a mean girl but actually is the nicest person you'll ever know. I actually thought she was mean until she defended Okarun, who she doesn't even know at that time, from his classmates and it made me like her even more when she apologized to him when she realized she said too much and was being mean to him. She's also a girls girl, like girlie was literally attacked by Aira, she also spread a nasty rumor about her and even claimed that she's a demon yet she still rescued her and helped her. Even when she got jealous of her, she was mainly mad at Okarun and not her. It was also the same with Vamola's case, she was jealous and upset that she kissed him but that jealousy didn't stop her from taking care and looking after her, she was mainly mad at Okarun that time too lol. I just love her so much I can't put it to words.
I love Aira and Jiji too, I hate how the fandom exaggerated the hate and villainized them (over a ship too). When I first saw the hate about them, I really thought they're the most vile evil character only to find out that they're actually not that bad, and after reading the manga I can say that they do not deserve to be hated. Yeah, Aira was mean and a two faced, but she's slowly changing and started being true to herself, she was just a delusional teenager who wants the attention to herself. I love her and Momo's dynamic so much, they're like friends who can't stand each other but still good friends who's there for each other when they needed to, while Jiji is just a cringe flirty guy who does random poses and looks like he's happy to be there, he's a genuinely good person to boot, I can't believe there people who seriously hate them, they're just silly teenagers.
There's so much more I want to say but it'll be spoiler lol.
#dandadan#dandadan spoilers#I'll make a separate post about Okarun#the manga was really good#i read it over the weekend and i was able to catch up before the released of new chapter last Monday#ayase momo#momo ayase#okarun#ken takakura#aira shiratori#jiji enjoji#jin enjoji

he always keeps an eye on her to make sure she’s always comfortable

you know how hongjoong once said “don’t look at other oppa’s”? yeah that rule kinda applies to her too
he’s so protective, anytime another idol or staff member flirts with her, he’s watching closely.

Thunderstorms (Josuke Higashikata x Reader)
A Josuke Higashikata x Reader one shot where you were once part of the Crusaders, coming to Morioh with Mr. Joestar, and your pomp baby likes you.
Word Count: 5.2k
A chilly breeze under the warm sun. You were standing on the port of a moving boat, facing the wind that blew your [H/C] hair as you leaned on the sill with a calm expression, eyes closed and lips quirked into a wide smile. You loved moments where you just partook the natural quiet sounds around you, the splashes of water and whispering currents being music to your ears. The day has been serene so far, but you didn't really come here for vacation.
"Shizuka! Come quick! Come quick!"
The voice of a man called for you, disturbing your moment with the calming ocean. You stood from leaning and yawned, popping some stiff muscles before you ran off in panic upon realizing that you were supposed to take care of the person that called for you. Yeap, you forgot of your job for over a second.
You entered the lounging room of the boat and darted your eyes on the back of a crouching man who seemed to be inspecting something on the ground beside the couch. You couldn't see what it was but you were relieved, placing your hands on top of your heart as you sighed.
The man shifted his head and glanced at you with wrinkled eyes and parted lips, "I tried slipping on it, Shizuka, but I couldn't!"
You peeked over him after you reached his side and saw something yellow, "Is that what I think it is?" You replied, giggling as you realized his comedic attempt on trying to solve cartoon logic.
"This banana peel couldn't make me slip.." The old man repeated as he tried to stand up. You held his arm and helped him settle on the couch. He grabbed his wooden cane and placed it in between his legs before setting his eyes on the oceanic scenario outside the windows, "[Y/N]..! I'm sorry.. the name Shizuka has been on my mind lately.. It's-it's a pretty name, don't you think?"
You smiled at his words, grabbing the banana peel from the ground before sitting beside him, "I think it is, Mr. Joestar!"
Familial and friend, you were someone that Mr. Joestar would describe with those two words. Being a member of the Crusaders, and being the youngest one at that, had a big contribution on your platonic relationship with the old man. He was always looking out for you while your brave self assured him that you're afraid of one thing, but you're not afraid to kick the lingering enemy Stand users' peaches. He believed you like how a father would believe her daughter's imaginary stories, making sure you won't feel like you were invalidated. Although, his worry that the trip would scar you, both physically and mentally, increased to the max when the group arrived at Egypt, which led to you being transported back to your lonely home by the Speedwagon Foundation.
You couldn't understand the reason of his worry along with the other Crusaders, so you had a childish decision to to cut ties with them, only to reach out a few years later. At that time, you talked to Mr. Joestar himself, not even hiding the fact that you broke down on the phone when he hesitantly told you that only three of your group survived. You were joyed that he still considered you as a part of the Crusaders, but you were disappointed that you were immature, making you miss all the trivial things that happened. The old man comforted you like those nights when you were missing your parents, fondly telling you, "That's a no-go! The boys wouldn't want you shaming yourself now, and neither would I. Live your life like you're supposed to, little [Y/N]. Everyone would be so proud of the woman you'd become!"
Now that you're on the legal age of 18, you're trying to fulfill your number one goal in mind, and that is to be a doctor under the Speedwagon Foundation. Sure, you're a bit forgetful sometimes, but you have a free pass for being under special training which was only possible because of your Stand.
..and your connection with the Joestars.
You and Mr. Joestar were sitting in silence, lost in reminiscing thoughts, until the sound of a water vehicle grew to be disturbing the peace even if it sounded far.
"What..?" You glared at the surroundings, frantically looking from the door where you came from to the side of the windows, figuring out where the vehicle is most likely to be, "Mr. Joestar, I have to check something outside. It'll be quick, a'right?" You stood up, rushing outside after you received no reply from the unbothered old man who still had his attention on the scenery.
You ran through and up the hallway until you reached the edge of the deck. You held on to the red fence as you leaned with squinting eyes, trying to see who was on the.. motorboat approaching the boat you're on. The attempt took minutes, making you sit on the floor in boredom before you jumped to your feet in excitement as you finally saw the passengers of the smaller vehicle. One was a boy in a blue uniform you absolutely do not know and the other..
The other was your childhood emo crush who now wore a white hat and coat, "JOTARO! Jotaroooo!" You screamed, waving both your hands with a cheeky grin. This is your first time meeting him after a decade! You forgot, but you were just as excited when you were informed about meeting Jotaro Kujo during this boat trip with Mr. Joestar.
"I heard you're a Marine Biologist now, huh! Remember when you knocked that one shark out to save me?!" You ironically screamed before laughing, following the motorboat to the back as the boy in uniform whispered to Jotaro while pointing at you. The adult man didn't mind the two children around him and focused on driving the motorboat, tugging the brim of his hat down as he gave himself a small smile.
Two of the Speedwagon Foundation crew was already waiting for the motorboat when you reached the back, "Sirs! You knew they were coming?" You asked as you reached their side, eyes still on the said vehicle.
"[L/N]? We actually informed you about this.." One of the two answered, making you rub your neck as you looked up, trying to remember it happening. You tried.. and got extremely confused in just a minute that you didn't even notice that the passengers of the motorboat had boarded yours. You were snapped with your sudden realization that you've told Mr. Joestar you'll only be quick with checking, making you run back to the room he's in.
Okuyasu Nijimura, who actually thought you ran off because he stood in front of you, looked back at Jotaro with a puzzled face. The adult man shove his hands inside his pockets and gave permission to follow you with a jerk of his head, to which the student complied to, but not without a scrunched face and a dramatic hop on the small wall that separated the stern of the boat from the hull where the lounge was.
Mentoring three different teenage boys has been a pain in the back. Jotaro doesn't know if he should be happy that you're back with them or.. he should just devise an escape plan from all of this. Either way, with you here, he's certain that he doesn't have to look out for his Jiji that much.
The boat arrived at the harbor safely. Knowing that an enemy posed as a crew and wanted to get rid of Mr. Joestar was a bit surprising, you even thought Okuyasu was Mr. Joestar's son at first! But now that you're seeing his actual son who had an eye-catching pompadoured hair, you weren't surprised on how charming he was.
You whistled and nudged Jotaro who was on your side. Everyone had their eyes on the father and son walking away hand in hand, "Woah, that's Josuke Higashikata? Sheesh, Jotaro. What's with y'all Joestars being so hot and everything?"
Jotaro glared at you, "Gimme a break. You're older than him."
You glared back and faced him, "I'm literally 18 and he's 16! Don't say that like I'm some sort of creep!" You jokingly punched him on the shoulder and voiced an ora, to which he responded with tipping his hat down and turning his back on you, "Hmp— Oh, may you please tell Josuke that I could tend to his wounds? I don't wanna ruin their moment right now, so maybe later?"
Jotaro turned his head and nodded, "Coolness! Thanks, my dear ocean man!"
—
Several weeks have passed since yours and Mr. Joestar's arrival at Morioh, and you've grown closer to the group as to be expected. Okuyasu always goes out of his way to meet you at the hotel you're staying at because of how much he enjoys your pampering when he blurts to you about how his pomp-haired friend gets the ladies in school, he had even told you that Koichi had a scary girl obsessing over him, not forgetting to mention that she was cute anyway. You seldomly meet the said boy, Koichi, as he was not the type to go around town if not needed, and only accompanied him once when he walked his large fluffy dog. Josuke on the other hand, always comes with Okuyasu to the hotel but he doesn't speak to you and only observes your interactions with his friend and his father while you also played with the invisible baby they found, whose name is now Shizuka. You didn't know there was a relevant reason as to why he wouldn't talk to you even if you tried to start a conversation, so you shrugged it off and just shot him genuine smiles whenever your gazes met. You were technically the older sister in the gang and it would make sense that Jotaro was the older brother, but he was more of an uncle figure.
Josuke planned to continue his tsundere facade until he was sure of asking you out -on a date- for a hangout with just the two of you, but what he didn't expect was for a certain someone, who he just can't seem to get along with, to poof up and force him to ruin his own plans.
"Listen, listen! I met a Stand User earlier today. I was just doing my own thing when he took photos of me without my permission. He even directed me of what to do and straight up got mad when I hesitated! Turns out, he's a mangaka who found me as a good reference and I was like, good and not perfect? He glared at me for a second then he just summoned his Stand! Yo! It was a cute, white and gold dude! Of course he didn't get the chance to use the dude on me, I have my totally cute Stand too! Next thing I know, he invited me for coffee! Rad, huh?"
You didn't even need to mention his name for them to know who you were talking about. The two boys who listened, Josuke and Okuyasu, looked at each other in shock before talking to themselves like you weren't there. Calling him the 'spider-licking guy', badmouthing him and expressing every inch of their dislike for the man. Inviting you for coffee was a bad call, it just meant that you two became friends and scheduled a date. Josuke tried his best to make you back out of it, eventually talking to you all the time and taking care of you, his father and the baby, like the older brother —your partner— he wanted to be since the time he realized he likes you. He couldn't accept that the mangaka had the upper hand, so he tried to do everything he can to change that.
But of course, the 'pure love kind of guy' failed.
The day of your date with the great mangaka arrived. You were in a good mood as you prepared, the voice of Kai Harada playing on the background radio noise. The man had said that today is a sunny day, to your delight, but there is a chance of a hard gloomy storm at afternoon, to your dismay. If there's one thing about nature that you dislike the most, it's thunderstorms. Although those weren't mentioned, the anxiety of being out in the open while it occurred crept over you. You observed yourself at the vanity mirror: your hair fixed into a [H/S] that you do only for special occasions and a [F/C] [O/F] that fitted your style and body as you kept your face in a natural but fresh look, eyeing details of yourself to shrug off the previous thought.
It's now 1PM and you are finally face to face with the mangaka, seated outside the famous Cafe Rengatei in Morioh. You arrived earlier than the meeting time, making you certain that your efforts to fix yourself went to a shame.
"It seems you've made an effort for your meeting with me today. You look quite presentable," Rohan started, leaning on the chair as he crossed his arms and had his chin up.
You quirked a brow, copying his action, "And what does that imply, Mr. Good Reference?"
"It implies that you're a perfect reference right now so I'll be straight to the point of this meeting," He frankly stated. Puzzled at the word 'meeting', your brows creased, "I want you to let me use Heaven's Door on you, and you will be paid. Since I didn't get a good— let you get away before, I'm asking for the permission you're requiring me of. I heard from my friend, Koichi, that you might have an interesting story. I could have just used Heaven's Door on him, but his information of you is limited. So, is that settled?"
And here you thought this was a date.
You bit your cheek from the inside and held the clothing on your lap, "Yeah, yeah. When do we start? Oh, and you don't have to pay because you sounded real genuine and kind. Thank you very much!" You replied, a bit of sarcasm coming with it.
Rohan raised an eyebrow and battled with your blank stares before speaking, "Tch. I have the money to pay, [L/N]. Meet me at my house tomorrow morning. Don't make me wait." He grabbed his sketchbook from below the table and stood up, giving you one final, sassy look before he left.
You watched him walk away, sighing deeply as his form vanished. He got you hard with the coffee invitation and he didn't even stayed a little longer to order and enjoy an afternoon snack with you. Oh, right.
You were just acquaintances. Nothing more and maybe less. It's not that you liked him in a certain way, you were only bummed that you requested a day off for this. Taking care of the people you care about and studying for your medical course are much better than misinterpreting a business deal for a casual date. You sighed once again, lightly hitting your head on the table, "This is the work of the worst enemy Stand."
The disappointment took over your senses on your surroundings, so you became more oblivious to the Josuke that was watching you far behind.
And yes, he's been there all the time.
Shocking and unbelievable to the ears of the mutual friends of Rohan and Josuke, but the mangaka was the one to set you and the student up. It's true that Rohan had heard of you from Koichi, but that's not all. He had also heard that Josuke had been acting distant to you when all he talks about at school is.. well, you. How did he even know about that? It's absolutely not the work of Heaven's Door, Koichi just had to slip up.
You and Josuke both stayed at your respective places, unsure of what to do next now that Rohan had done his part. A few minutes passed, and you both sighed at the same time. You stood up, deciding that you'd go back at the hotel and play with the adorable Shizuka, while the nervous Josuke continued watching you, figuring out the right time to show up.
You were supposed to walk back, but then drops of water started falling from the sky. You opened your palm and looked up the sky, only to see gray colors eat up the blues. You closed your eyes and sighed once more, whispering to yourself, "This day is a work of an enemy Stand."
Not for Josuke who brought an umbrella that he'd share with you, though.
The drops of rain became a heavy storm within minutes, making you run to the nearest waiting shed. There were only hints of you being soaked, but it didn't help your body that had low resistance towards the cold. In this moment where you hugged yourself to keep your body heat, you remembered the Crusaders. The group of big men who all had a soft spot for you, and the small dog who accompanied you at your mischievous times. They were the group that always made sure to keep you warm, the group that always assured you that thunderstorms—
"AAAAH!"
You squealed upon hearing the deafening noise from above, the sound of pouring rain quickly enveloping after. You whimpered and tucked yourself in the corner of the shed, hands covering your ears and tightly gripping your now messed hair as you trembled greatly. Slowly and weakly, you dropped yourself, your knees meeting the coldness of the ground. This was supposed to be a nice day. A nice, enjoyable day that involved no stress and no professional work. Mr. Joestar also wanted you to enjoy but this, fighting back the urge to sob while you silently hollered in the storming public, isn't exactly your idea of spending your leisure time.
"[Y-Y/N]?"
Josuke stood just outside the waiting shed, a black umbrella, protecting him from the rain, in hand. He ran when he heard your scream, resulting to his shoes and pants to be thoroughly soaked. He looked at you with worry and guilt, although clueless as to what exactly caused your outspoken self to curl into a whimpering puppy. Rohan.. It must've been him. He shouldn't have just stood there watching, "[Y/N]..? Did Rohan do—"
A loud thunderstorm sounded once more, making you scream and push yourself to the corner. Josuke gasped, it's.. the thunderstorms that's causing this.
Josuke entered the shed and closed the umbrella, hanging it on the roof. You weren't paying him any of your attention, your conscious mind devoured by unsettling thoughts. Your phobia of thunderstorms was something you caught from your childhood. Something you caught from the freezing and lonely nights without your parents, people who you most expected to be there for you when you're being secluded by fright.
The boy who was now crouching in front of you noticed your lack of attention as he's been calling your name. He bit his lower lip, feeling more and more soft as each second passed. He should have known.. he usually did ask Mr. Joestar about you after all.
Josuke gave up on calling you and proceeded to his second move, which was to cover you with his gakuran. He stood up, unclasped the remaining buttons and gently enrobed you with the garment, slight joy sparking in him when you quickly accepted and wrapped yourself with it. He expected that you were still clueless of a person here with you, but you really are filled with surprises.
"T-thank you.. Angel.." You muttered, a serene feeling slowly emerging when you thought a kind citizen had randomly decided to be concerned over a breaking down woman. You exhaled deeply, eyes opening as your whole form has been blanketed by the coat.
"Angel? You think that suits me?"
You felt your heart skip a beat upon hearing the familiar cheerful voice. It wasn't some random citizen who helped you, of course it had to be someone you know.
You draped the coat over your shoulder and wrapped your body with it, head turning to the side where your sight met the ever-majestic boy's grin, hastily noticing his biceps as he only had a yellow sando as a top. Your eyes widened in surprise, bringing back the coat over your head to hide the creeping blush on your face. The turn of events had you sweeping away the thoughts of your phobia, at least.
"A-ah..? Of course it suits you! You're my.. our JoJo after all!" You faced him and answered after sighing inside the coat, trying to compose yourself, "Your g-gakuran is so warm, Josuke. I might just steal it now!"
Josuke let out a chuckle, comfortably glad that you feel better now. He had one more move up his sleep and he'd ecstatic if he could do it, but maybe some other time.. or later..? Woah there, he shouldn't be thinking about that right now. But for real, he's curious on.. how having you in his arms would feel. Your body insufferably close to his.. your loving arms wrapping around him as he shared his body heat so that you'd be shivering no more.. Sh*t, this is still a crush, right?
"U-uhm, Higashikata to e-earth..?"
"Ah? What? Oh! Yeah, sorry! W-were you saying something?"
Josuke got too far with his thoughts that he stayed still, staring at you with half-lidded eyes and a smirk, a pink shade on his cheeks which were becoming evident even with the storm blocking out the light from the sun. You didn't consider that he looked at you like a lovestruck boy and snapped him from his trance, concerned that he might be feeling cold now.
"I was asking if you.. uhm.. now that I think of it, I m-might sound like a creep," You said, still trembling. You closed your eyes and sighed, meeting his encouraging expression as you opened them again. A pursed smile formed on your lips, "You could have your coat back although I.. I was hoping if we could share it but—"
"Of course we can! I thought you'd never ask, [Y/N]!" Josuke jumped to his feet, a confident grin on his face. You looked up at him, confused, "Brr! I'm starting to feel cold too! Well?" He happily lied, crossing his arms and making an up and down motion over his biceps to add to his bluff. Josuke's not going to let this chance pass! You were the one to offer the.. intimate gesture, he'd be cursing himself forever if he messes this up.
You nodded with your mouth agape and tried to stand up on your feet. Your legs were numb for having to carry your weight on the ground, so it'd make sense if you stumbled for a bit. Fortunately, a strong and quick-thinking boy was there to catch you before it even happens, his hands —which flicked the coat— supporting your waist as you held on his wrists. Oh boy, why is it that you think he'd be a perfect gym partner?
"Perfect gym partner, huh? I wouldn't mind that too, Ms. [Y/N]!" Your eyes widened upon his words, "Yep, you just said it out loud!" Josuke laughed, giving you the urge to turn around in embarrassment but you couldn't, his stubborn hands locking you in place. An awkward silence engulfed as you looked into each other's eyes, the sound of pouring rain joining in again.
You gulped as Josuke sighed and cleared his throat, "I know this isn't a good moment to say what I'm about to say, but I don't think I could do it anywhere else without being awkward so I'm going to say it," Josuke sighed once more and you blink as a response. He sounded complacent yet also shakened while your confusion is getting ahead of you, "I'm really, REALLY going to say it now! I'm actually going to say it, will you let me say it? Uh.."
"..F*ck this is harder than I thought."
You creased your brows, adamantly switching to your sister form, "Language, JoJo!" You retreated your hands and tapped his cheeks, and.. you know you shouldn't have done that.
From another person's view, yours and Josuke's position just got more romantic than ever. Your small hands cupping his adoring face as his were firmly placed on your waist.. His almost bare top fighting the cold breeze brought by the storm just so you could be warm under the cover of his gakuran that was appealingly big on you.. This is much preferable than what Josuke daydreamed. You even called him JoJo, which he's never heard you call his nephew or his father with. Holy.. you're oblivious to the fact that you're setting the mood for him, aren't you?
You were about to pull your hands away when he swiftly locked your wrists, your waist now free from him. You gasped and felt your heart skip a beat. It was just like when you first heard his voice earlier. Being with him like this feels good but.. it doesn't feel right.
"I'm being pushy here, aren't I?" Josuke chuckled shakily, "I feel like bursting at this moment, so.. Ms. [Y/N], would ya listen? I know it'd be uncomfortable and freaky, but I seriously need to say it."
You barely nodded, his hands bringing down yours and holding it in his. He was looking down at the pairs, smiling at how yours fitted in his, "It's only been weeks since we've met— heck, since I've met you and Mr. Joestar, and this isn't really the right time for me to be having this.. puppy crush when enemy Stand Users are on the lose, but I don't usually crush over someone this hard." He grunted, his hands delicately squeezing yours, "I.. I like you, [Y/N]. Like, like-like like you. There.. I finally said it."
The moment would have been cute because of his mulish confession, but you just had to ruin it for the poor boy.
"Josuke we're.. we're family." Josuke flinched before looking at you, his arched brows hitting each other. The tables have turned, and he's the one that's waiting now, "Mr. Joestar, Jotaro.. they're like father and older brother to me while.." You sighed, successfully pulling your hands away from his weakened grip, "Josuke, I don't want to trade my close relationship with your father's family.. for a possibly temporary feelings for me."
Your words hit like Cupid shot their arrow backwards, but Josuke didn't let himself be completely fazed. He was taken aback for a second, but that doesn't mean he didn't expected this. He knew how much the Joestar Family meant to you. You're even proud that you owe your life to them, to such good people that were the epitome of justice and heroic greatness. He took note of that fact when he was getting to know you through his father, who seemed to enjoy telling stories about you. Somehow, he could say he was prepared for this.
"But, doesn't that mean if I proved my feelings aren't temporary and I'm proudly certain of it, I would have a chance with you?" Josuke grinned, tilting his head as he shove his hands in his pockets, "Also, Mr. Joestar approves of you being his daughter-in-law. Man, I'm just glad you didn't accept his offer to adopt you years ago. That would have sucked!"
Your lips opened and closed like a fish underwater, making Josuke smirk inwardly. You were almost speechless, and that's a good thing for him, "How did you.. Why do you even.." You stiffened, fiddling with his coat as you turned on to your side, facing the raining scenery, "Josuke, I don't know why you're doing this, b-but this ain't funny, y'know? Don't you like, see me as your older sister or—"
"At first," You glanced at Josuke who was now facing outside too, "When you introduced yourself as Mr. Joestar's caretaker, yeah," He stole a glance back and pouted, "But when we got to know you and literally took care of me like you're my caring girlfriend? Hell no. I could even bet Okuyasu also had a crush on you, but he told me you were like a mom, a cute mom at that." He shook his head, chuckling at what he said, "Misunderstanding your actions was a sh*tty move for me but I don't regret it one bit, Ms. [Y/N]."
There, Josuke did not just confess his romantic feelings to you, but also admitted how his decision to like you seemed inappropriate. It was valid nonetheless, as you weren't related to him by blood, but you take pride in being the Joestars' comrade —even if you seemed thirsty for them some times— and he acknowledges that.
No one gets to choose who they specifically prefer to be with, anyway. He had to 'Dora!' his way out of his boundaries with you or he would be lying to himself, which he dislikes the most, aside Rohan.
"Are you sure Mr. Joestar's okay with this?" You asked, sighing, "I don't mind giving you a chance now that—"
Josuke didn't even let you finish and proceeded to lock you in his arms, pulling you in excitement as his arms snaked around your neck and your head, "I said 'chance', JoJo! You haven't even asked me if you wanted me to be your girlfriend—"
"So you like me too?" Josuke cut you off again, smiling down at you. You sighed and nodded, accepting your defeat. He shouted a yes, an arm punching above, hitting the roof of the shed, "Aw—! But hey, you just admitted that you like me! Take that, Rohan!"
You slightly pulled away from Josuke, "What does Kishibe have to do with this?" You asked, glaring at him. Josuke shook his head, scratching the back of it as he grinned. Rohan totally had something to do with this as he didn't only set them up, but even tried to discourage the lively Josuke by saying that you'd reject him and tell him that you only see him as family. Technically, he was right— but that didn't last long!
You were going to ask about it again when a thunderstorm sounded, breaking down your collected spirit as you ended up holding yourself close to the boy in front of you. His playfulness aside, he fixed his gakuran that was still on you and wrapped you in his arms protectively, assuring you that you're going to be okay. Another thunderstorm followed, startling you even in his arms. You were a shaking mess, your fists grabbing a handful on the back of his sando, face buried on his chest. He should've been shivering from the cold all this time, but your presence provided warmth for him and he's grateful for that. Josuke willingly let you nuzzle yourself around him, knowing that it comforted you and it brought contentedness to his feelings.
"I hope you won't mind being the rainbow that brings color to my life, [Y/N]."
"Y-yeah, JoJo.. u-unless I strike you as a lightning w-when you break my heart.."
"I'm frightened that you can be scary while you're scared [Y/N] but.. sh*t, I just realized.."
"What i-is it now..?"
"It's also hot."

Back at it again with a couple more HC prompts, which imma just dump in one, and you can pick which ones you want. Puddles with the kiddos, family baking sessions when both are regressed, Ro wanting attention whilst Logan is reading, so climbing all over his book, how their reactions to new stuffies differ, regressed versus non-regressed birthdays.... Etc... 👍
okokokokok buckle up everyone
Puddles:
this is the only one where i have to be like .. i don't think so :0 see virgil can get very nervous when it rains because he's so anxious about 'is it gonna storm? will there be thunder? will we be hit by lightning? will there be a flood? what if one of us slips and hurts our head??' that he just cannot relax enough to be able to jump around in puddles because 'WHAT IF I SLIP IM GONNA DIE' and the wetness on his skin sets off the wrong sensory feelings so jumping in muddy puddles is a no for him (as much as he loves peppa pig)
and roman is a fussy little thing, he may not care as much for his appearance when he's small but i think he will still be conscious enough to notice if he gets wet hair and muddy clothes - plus i feel like roman's mood is quite tied to the weather, on dark days he tends to fee a little more gloomy, ao again not sure about this especially if he wouldn't have his baby brother there with him
Baking:
OH BOY so roman is a great cook okay? like chef level he has honed his skills so that he can make romantic meals for handsome princes, but baking? nu uh, too technical, he ain't got time for that. Patton is the baker of the house and makes cookies and cupcakes way too often for Logan's liking (but secretly he loves them of course, he's just concerned for everybody's teeths) but both CGs will cook dinner when the boys are little
When the boys are regressed they're not allowed much in the kitchen anymore. after roman tried to make breakfast in bed for his CGs and started a very small but very real fire he has lost some kitchen rights (ficlet coming to you at some point perhaps) and is not allowed in the kitchen without at least one CG. even if he can switch so quickly between headspaces, he ends up either 1) too stubborn to come out of little space, or 2) a kittle bit clumsy when he comes out of it
but to make up for roman being upset by this slight loss of independence (he is a big kid after all) patton and he do weekly baking sessions! and there's always a theme. most recently they had animal crossing themed cupcakes, a little mermaid themed jello (not technically baking but roman wanted to but little fish gummies in the jelly), and... the next one is a secret because i might put it in chapter 7 (: in fact chapter 7 will feature the first instance of this tradition!!
virgil has pyrophobia (fear of fire) and so is never keen to be in the kitchen while there's food preparation going on (but he was allowed to help with the under the sea jello!!) so roman and pattons baking sessions are an excuse for mama and baby bonding time! the tradition didn't start until after virgil's separation anxiety from patton had eased up a little so luckily there's barely any tears
mama baby bonding time consists of but is not limited to: sitting on mama's lap, doing puzzles together, (vee trying to suck on a puzzle piece and crying when he's told not to), mama reading baby books to vee, vee touching all the textures and flaps in the baby books, snuggles
Ro wanting attention while Lo is reading:
this is 1000% canon!! later in the series logan will often be at work in his room and have the boys with him because patton is busy with something or another. they realise they really do need to keep working for thomas' sake but manage to integrate the boys' littlespaces into it. Eg. logan dangling baby plastic keys from one hand to amuse girgil while he's typing with the other
but when it's quiet time, when patton is in virgil's room because the baby is having a nap and papa wants to watch over him, when roman hasn't been little because he's been working or simply not in the mood earlier that day, when logan is just chilling, just reading a stephen hawking book in the living room, when he's literally just vibing, roman can and will launch himself into logan's lap sending the book flying and logan isn't allowed to tell him off because 'I'm little now! i want attention now!! hi mom!!!!'
New stuffies:
AHHHHHHHHH this this this is so so cute!!
roman never used to care much for soft toys before okay? before he was ever a little sure he appreciated disney action figures (he used them to block out scenes he wrote for theatre productions and screenplays and fanfiction) sure he always had a soft spot for Mrs Fluffybottom his childhood toy, but she always just sat on a shelf, he never fet the need to cuddle her or play with her
but when he realises he's little, when he starts playing with vee, when he sees how much vee cares about his soft animals, when patton and logan buy him a present to welcome him to the littlespace family and it's a golden teddy bear (soon to be named Aladdin) with big brown beady eyes and a satin crimson bow around its neck? yeah big kids love stuffies too
and now whenever roman is gifted a new toy (soft or otherwise) he essentially gets the zoomies!!! his brain is going a million miles a minute with all the game possibilities and with the excitement of NEW PRESENT!!! and with the happiness that his caregivers thought about him and he's been a good enough boy to deserve gifts?? yeah he's so so so excited he canNOT stand still he runs around the house for a whole hour flinging his new toy around (yeah he's a bit rough with them and there's been more than one torn limp or loose eye but he doesn't care it just shows how much they're loved!)
Now virgil: this boy is very very very emotionally attached to his stuffies. when he was a "dark side" he couldn't have much soft stuff because it just went against everything the household stood for and he couldn't risk the others finding out about how not-scary he really was, but he allowed himself a single stuffed rabbit that was easy to hide and that he loved with all of his being. it was his security blanket and his one item that could offer him comfort in a oanic attack and his only posession that he felt was true to him and not true to the scary facade he put up to scare thomas and the "light sides" into listening to him
without spoiling anything, that bunny was left in that house when he moved to the "light sides"
and in his new home virgil started collecting soft toys whenever he needed comfort. everytime he felt unwanted, every time he had an anxiety attack, everytime there was a thunderstorm predicted for the next week he would get himself a new soft toy because that was the only way he knew to comfort himself. needless to say he's got a pretty big collection now. you might think he became desensitized to new toys because of how many times he had gotten himself a new one, and you might be partly right.
that is until for the first time ever he is given a stuffie by someone else... when logan buys him a soft toy in apology for accidentally revealing his regression to everyone ((yes i am writing this fic!))
it wasn't really logan's fault, virgil should have been more aware he should have been more careful he should have hidden it all better but the logical side was guilt-ridden nonetheless. virgil hadn't expected much to be honest, the sincere apology was enough for him
but when logan blushed and shyly opened a box and handed him a black cat stuffie? virgil had to fight very very hard not to outright sob on the spot. he simply took it, thanked logan shakily, and prayed that logan didn't point out the fact that tears were falling onto the fluff of his new stuffed friend Jiji
now whenever he gets a new toy it's different than before - it's not because he's upset and needs comfort, it happens less often now but it's more special, it could be for a holiday or as a way of saying he's been very sweet or just because patton simply couldn't resist this one because look at its cute lil eyes! but each and everytime he knows when he is handed a new toy by one of his family members it really means 'i love you'
and he buries his face in its softness - it used to be to hide his tears, but now he just can't help but squeeze it tight and close and let the feeling of love wash over him
Birthdays:
yknow that episode of steven universe where steven wears a regal cape and a golden crown? yeah that's roman whether he's little or not
seriously this kid is very much the 'it's my birthweek!' type
lots of singing, lots of 'but i'm the birthday boy!!' to try to get thtings he really shouldn't be getting (like a third cookie) (and yes patton caves every single time) (patton is eventually banned from making decisions on romans behalf during his "birthweek")
there's not much difference at all between little romans birthday and big romans birthday, he's just an excitable boy whether he's a kiddo or not - this may or may not make the caregivers question whether maybe he actually was a little before virgil's regression was revealed
(irrelevant but patton definitely makes the pun 'you're a little? a little what? finish your sentences silly billy!')
virgil hates his birthday. hates it.
too much attention, too many things that could go wrong, too much pressure on it being a good day. what if his anxiety is bad that day? what if he doesn't want everyone watching him open presents? what if he's genuinely terrified that people think walking towards him with a big grin, singing at him, and carrying a cakeful of literal fire is a somehow a fun activity??
when he first moved into the house he made it very clear that he does not have a birthday so don't even try to throw him a party
naturally roman and patton were devastated, but after a failed attempt at getting virgil to enjoy his birthday they obeyed logan's request that they not try to push the idea on virgil any further
but the first birthday after they become a little family, it's a bit different
they don't push it, not at first, but virgil does wake up to patton already in his room and cooing at him adoringly , immediately sending him into his regressed headspace
then he's given a new soft toy. that wasn't so bad
then roman let him choose what disney film they watched. that wasnt bad either
then logan cuddled him for an hour and they might have fallen asleep together not noticing the smell of vanilla coming from the kitchen
then there was a new paci, a new rattle, another new soft toy, and cake cut up into tiny squares so he could nibble on it with his fingers
there was no loud singing no big surprises no bright lights or fire or anything else that he hated about birthdays
there was only love and toys and comfort. so virgil really didn't mind birthdays much after that
#wowie wow wow wow that was a lot i hope this is ok??#long post#all caps#food tw#pyrophobia tw#little/big concepts#agere virgil#little virgil#little roman#cg logan#cg patton#asks#anon#agedre roman

Drunk On You | Shiloh & Skylar
Shiloh arrived a little earlier for the reservation. Was it rude to drink a bit before hand? No, of course not. It took a lot for Shiloh to get drunk anyway so what was the harm? She held her liquor very well. But why was she nervous. It had to be the clothes. Let’s not talk about what she had to do to get these nice clothes but it was good to bring them out every so often right? As Shiloh tugged on the collar of her black blouse, maybe it was a sign to take it out more often. Instead, she waited at her table for Skylar, drinking wine glass after wine glass as she tried to comfort her nerves by running the palm of her hand up and down her velvet suit. She can’t even remember when she bought this but could recall she bought the two-piece solely for the velvet feel. However, it was a dark burgundy and she felt it fit the color theme of Valentine’s Day? Oh god what if Skylar thought she looked like a fool. As the time of the reservation neared, she realized, the wine she purchased looked like it was being drunk from so she quickly had it replaced as well as a new glass. Just in time too because she spotted Skylar being ushered to their table. She stood on her feet immediately, able to feel warmth on her cheeks (maybe it was the alcohol). Her own concerns fell as she saw Skylar, instead focused on how nice she looked. “You look incredible,” Shiloh spoke out first with a huge grin on her face before realizing it was spoken aloud. She cleared her throat and took her suit. “So, uh, how was your day?”
Skylar felt very, very out of her element as she stepped into the Artesian. Not only was it because of the fact she was wearing an outfit she’d literally never worn before-- she’d bought it once on a whim, just because she really liked the look of the red pants-- but because this bar was some place that her parents would have gone to back home. It was so far out of her current comfort level.”Hi, um, I’m here with Shiloh? Kent?” She said to the person waiting expectantly in the entryway. Rubbing the back of her neck with her good arm, Skylar glanced down at what she thought had been a nice white collared shirt, the top two buttons left open with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. But everyone else here was dressed much better than her. Oh god. This was-- before she could second guess too much, she found herself being escorted to a table where Shiloh was already waiting. Her neck burned hotly at Shiloh’s compliment and she offered a slightly awkward smile. “Ah. Thank you. You look really nice too. That’s a very cool suit, I could never pull something like that off.” She said earnestly. It suited Shiloh far better than it would her. “Oh. Um, it was really good! Lots of Valentines day excitement, but the kids were pretty nice.” Skylar sat down across the table from the other woman before nodding, “The flowers you sent me were beautiful. Thank you.”
Shiloh chuckled, happy she liked the suit. Why was her face so hot? “I’m sure you could pull it off.” She looked down at her outfit. It was just a suit anyway and Skylar looked really pretty in what she was wearing now. “Oh um, I’m glad you liked it. I didn’t know if you liked flowers or sweets but I remembered you mentioning you can’t eat gluten and I don’t know if chocolate has gluten so I decided something that wasn’t food would work.” She smiled after her small rant, hoping it didn’t sound weird. “My mother told me you seemed to like it but I wanted to hear it from you. Did you like the teddy bear? I didn’t know if you like that sort of stuff.” It seems she was to learn a lot about Skylar and she couldn’t wait to learn. Shiloh then remembered what they were both here for. To drink. “Oh, I got some wine for the table. Do you want me to pour you a glass?” Did Skylar care about the details of the wine? Shiloh didn’t. Alcohol was just alcohol most of the time.
Smiling, Skylar nodded at the mention of the surprise Valentine’s gift. It was really sweet of Shiloh to think of her, particularly her dietary… quirks. “Thank you, really. Most people don’t remember that I can’t eat a lot of things, it was nice to get something that I could actually enjoy.” She said before blushing bright red. She’d been more than a little flustered to not only have gotten a gift, but to also have gotten it in front of Shiloh’s mom. That hadn’t been an awkward explanation at all. “I, um, yes. I really liked it.” She said, “And the teddy bear was very cute. I know people sometimes think they’re cliche, but I think little plush things like that are adorable.” Looking at the bottle of wine, Skylar’s eyebrows shot up at the label. She’d seen a bottle of this in her parent’s wine cooler and her father was a big wine guy. “Wait. I-- Yes, but. That’s… a very expensive bottle of wine. You-- You didn’t need to get that.” She said, a touch guilty. It was a good thing that she hadn’t eaten dinner. Hopefully, that would help her get tipsy at a more normal rate. The last thing she wanted to do was look like she was some kind of weirdo just, chugging super expensive wine.
“I pay attention to what you say, Skye.” Shiloh responded with a smile. It was just what Shiloh did, listened to other people. Yeah, Skylar was a little different because she didn’t want to ruin things with her but she listened to her all the same. “Oh so you like plushes?” She asked with no judgement just happy to learn something new. “Jiji is a plush himself, furry and thick.” She chuckled to herself as she reached out to the bottle, hesitating only when Skylar spoke up. “Oh, my friend recommended it. I didn’t know what wine you liked. I can ask for them to bring us another one?” Although everything here was expensive so it would be difficult finding something reasonable.
“Ah. Thanks.” Skylar beamed-- oh god, was she smiling too much? Or would it be weird if she wasn’t? Oh dear… Pulling herself from her worried thoughts, she instead focused on what Shiloh was saying. “Mhm, I do. Jiji honestly looks like one, you’re right. If he sat really still, he might even look like the cat toy in the movie.” She said with a laugh. Glancing at the bottle, Skylar’s fingers fidgeted a bit before she forced herself to keep still. Nope, nope, no, this was fine and okay. She’d just have to put her part of the check on her card and hope for the best. “Mm. I’m not really a wine connoisseur, anything’s fine. You’ve already opened it, I’d hate to let it go to waste. I was just, um, surprised. I knew this place was fancy but…” Her voice trailed off awkwardly as she gestured to the very upscale environment around them, “I’m not super used to places like this anymore.”
Shiloh laughed, thinking about Jiji as a plush. “He’d be a really big and heavy plush. But still so cute.” She wondered what he must be doing now. Sleeping probably. Shiloh didn’t dwell on her cat however, she had someone more interesting in front of far. Although she feared she had already ruined things. “It’s fine,” she reached for the bottle, pulling it closer. “They already have my card on file - and before you say anything, I invited you here. It’s on me. We can save this one for later and get other drinks if you prefer.” She didn’t want to admit that she had already been drinking beforehand but now she was wishing she had drank more because she still felt nervous. “Wait, did you say you’re not used to places like this anymore? Do you have a secret past bartending in fancy places?” She knew the wine was expensive off the bat, there had to be something there.
“Incredibly so, on all counts,” Skylar replied with another grin. Watching as Shiloh moved the bottle, her body language just a tad nervous, she realized just how awkward she was making this. Shiloh had already bought the bottle, part of it was already gone, it was clear that she knew what she was buying-- hearing that the other woman would be paying for it was news to her, but what’s done’s done. Reaching out, she lightly touched Shiloh’s hand. “It’s okay. Sorry. I was just surprised. I’ve never really,” Skylar paused, realizing that she would sound like an idiot if she admitted never having gone on a date before, “gotten the hang of the whole, who pays for what, etiquette thing.” Nailed it. To make sure Shiloh understood that she meant it, Skylar poured what she hoped was a reasonable amount of wine into her glass and took a measured sip. Glancing over the rim of her glass, she set the glass down and shook her head. “No, no, nothing like that.” She said, her fingers playing with the stem of her wine glass. “My parents were very into wine. They liked to go to places like this a lot, and bring me and my siblings.” She explained. It was always a little weird talking about her family-- most of the time, she just avoided it. But, Shiloh had asked and she would have felt bad about avoiding the question.
“Oh, is that really what you’re stressing about?” Shiloh asked, feeling her nerves fade away. “That’s cute. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t have even suggested a place like this if I thought you were gonna spend a dime. Not that I think you can’t afford it! Just… it’s expensive and I suggested it. I wouldn’t throw that on you.” Shiloh had more money than she needed. If she wanted to spend it on this then, it honestly wouldn’t be a problem. “Before you say anything, I can afford this. This is as much for me as it is for you. If I wanted to drink something cheap I’d have gone to another bar or drank at home.” Shiloh smiled, hoping Skylar would understand. Sure, maybe part of her wanted to show she had money but she truly didn’t want to buy anything cheap and nothing here was cheap! “That and… I wanted to spend some time with you. I, uh, I missed hanging out with you.” Shiloh glanced away with a smile having to adjust her glasses hoping they wouldn’t fog up. She decided to channel her nerves into pouring herself a glass. “They took you to places like this as a kid?” Shiloh asked for clarification as she took a sip “You don’t mean bars right? Just nice places?” Her parents were never into that sort of thing. Maybe that’s where she got it from. “So you said you had a brother and sister right? What are they like? Do you live with them here?”
Lips pressing together slightly at the words, “that’s cute,” Skylar pulled her hand back into her lap. Was Shiloh being condescending? Even though this was a nice bar and wasn’t as nearly as loud as some of the other places around town, tone was always difficult for her to place. But, the other woman had been nothing but kind to her in the past, so she probably didn’t mean it that way. Hopefully. “I see. Well, thank you for inviting me.” She said with a soft smile. But again, the words were confusing her. Hanging out? Had she misinterpreted what this was? She had assumed– she shouldn’t have assumed anything. Oh god. Taking a longer sip from her glass, Skylar nodded. “I, um, I’m sorry for being a little out of it. I was just,” She wracked her brain, trying to remember what all she had said to Shiloh during her brain fog last week, “Not feeling the best. But your messages were really sweet.” She added. “Ah. Sorry, I meant super upscale places. They did take us to a vineyard once.” She said with a slight shrug, the motion making her shoulder twinge, a reminder her of her not entirely healed stitches. “No, my sister lives in Seattle and my brother is at UC Berkeley. I can show you a picture, if you’d like” She offered.
“It’s okay, really.” Shiloh reassured. “You were busy and that’s fine. I just missed you.” Did she really admit to that? Shiloh went for her drink, her eyes turning down to look at her glass and away from Skylar. She felt oddly warm. God, Skylar’s gonna think she’s really weird isn’t she? Shiloh drank some more to try and get her mind off it. “A vineyard? That sounds really nice. I’ve never been to one. I wonder if there’s any nearby. Maybe we can go to one together.” Shiloh suggested her eyes looking over at Skylar, hopeful. At the offer of a picture of her siblings, Shiloh was curious. “A picture is fine, yeah.” She smiled, feeling honored to see a picture of her siblings.
“Ah… Okay.” Skylar said, brain still a little muddled and confused by all of this. Maybe she was just reading too much into things. If Shiloh said she missed her, then Skylar was inclined to believe her. And… it honestly was kinda nice. To feel missed. Or maybe it just felt nice to know that someone else was thinking about her. “I was 13 at the time, so it really wasn’t that fun for me. But, um, if you’re interested in wine, they’re a good place to learn about how places go through the process of making and aging their stuff.” She nodded, drawing back on nearly decade old memories of a place she’d been bored out of her mind at. With a smile, Skylar pulled out her phone and entered the password. “There’s Bri, Hunter, and me.” Skylar said, showing Shiloh her home screen. It was one of her favorite photos, the three of them looking frustrated over a 1,500 piece puzzle that their mom had insisted would “bring the family together” and “build character.” Bri in the foreground, looking blonde and perfect and only slightly annoyed, Hunter just behind her holding up two identical looking pieces with a pained expression on his face, and herself, looking fairly normal. It had been one of her good days when the photo had been taken. It had been over a year since the photo had been taken, she realized. Wow. Wow, this was NOT the time to think about that. Focusing back on Shiloh, she let out an awkward laugh, “We’re not puzzle people.”
“Well, maybe you’ll have fun going with me?” Shiloh wondered out loud, but didn’t meet Skylar’s eyes. Instead she looked at the picture of her and her siblings. It looked really nice. Normal. Shiloh knew she had pictures with her foster siblings but none of them were ever… permanent. She remembered that bothered her a lot growing up. She didn’t understand why her friends would have to leave. It really made her learn to appreciate the time she had with people, but be a little wary that they too, were temporary. “Did you guys ever finish the puzzle?” She asked, giving the photo one more lingering look, her eyes on Skylar in the photo before turning up to look at her. She leaned back into her seat, drinking more of her wine, which pulled her mind to it. “Do you like the wine by the way? I know it’s not sweet.” Shiloh didn’t mind if alcohol was sweet or not, but she hoped Skylar wasn’t just drinking the wine just to drink it. Hopefully she liked it, just a little bit? Either way, they probably would not be having this glass of wine in the near future.
Shiloh’s question came as Skylar was mid-sip, and she pulled the glass away from herself quickly enough to prevent spilling/choking on the red wine. In a place like this? That would have been mortifying. Collecting herself, Skylar replied, “I’d probably like it a lot more, mhm.” Wine didn’t really matter to her, but another opportunity to spend time with Shiloh sounded really nice, honestly. Putting her phone away, she smiled, “We did, only because Hunter got really in the zone with it. By the end, Bri and I were just watching him do his thing while we ate snacks. But, we had fun.” At the question about the wine, Skylar tilted her head in a non-committal manner. The wine she typically drank came in $5 bottles from the local supermarket. Not from a place like this. “It’s very nice. But, if you’re not enjoying it, I don’t mind switching to something different.” Leaning forward, Skylar looked around carefully, “To be super honest with you… I really don’t get the whole wine appreciation thing. I just think it tastes nicer than liquor.”
Shiloh smiled and nodded her head, unable to say anything as she nodded because she was too happy Skylar admitted to it. She rubbed at the thigh comfortingly under the table, feeling a little giddy at all this. She believed Skylar when she had told her she enjoyed hanging out with her before but to hear it said aloud... It was different. Shiloh wasn’t sure anything could take the smile on her face away. “You just let him do all the work,” Shiloh chuckled at that. “That’s funny.” It must have been nice growing up with them. She wondered if Skylar missed them but decided not to ask that. The question would come in time. “It’s fine, it’s not bad at all.” She took another sip to show, her glass more empty than full now. “I’m not that picky with my alcohol. I’ll drink beer or wine. Whatever I’m in the mood for. I like spirits too but I only get them when I’m at a bar. I don’t keep any at home. What kind do you prefer?” She asked leaning forward, completely interested in whatever Skylar had to say.
“It’s just kinda how my brother is-- when he gets going, it’s best to let him just go for it and wait for him to either finish his project or get too frustrated to continue.” Skylar explained before finishing her glass of wine. Though it was of a much higher quality than she was used to, the wine wasn’t really doing much in the way of getting her drunk. At best, she felt a very mild buzz. Hoping it wasn’t too presumptuous of her, she poured herself another glass. “We’re all a little like that, just about different things. I guess that’s what happens when engineers raise you.” She said with a laugh.“Mmm. I really don’t keep much alcohol either. Wine and beer are both fine. Of liquor, I guess I like vodka? It’s light and mixes well with pretty much anything, so you don’t even have to taste it.” Skylar was mostly just glad that drinks weren’t off the table for her frustratingly narrow diet.
“Oh, I see.” Shiloh wondered if her siblings would ever come visit her. She’d like to meet them. Oh my god, they just met a while back and she wanted to meet the family. Shiloh needed to relax. “Your parents are engineers? Oh wow.” Shiloh had vaguely considered that career path - and by considered she looked it up and thought that’d be nice before realizing it wasn’t likely and moved on. It was too much school. “Vodka? Yeah it’s not bad when it’s mixed in with drinks. I’ve made the mistake of drinking just straight vodka.” Shiloh smiled as she leaned back into her seat, recalling the event. “I was like 15? And drank from a cup at the counter. It was vodka. I thought I drank rubbing alcohol and was gonna die. My dad came in cause I was yelling and when I told him what happened he just about died laughing.” Shiloh shook her head and reached for her glass again, not finishing it but still moving to poor herself some more. “Every time I taste vodka I think back to that moment. So yeah, I prefer my vodka drinks mixed very well.”
“Yup. They’re computer science engineers, they do very important stuff.” She said. Wait, did that sound too snarky? It wasn’t meant to-- not totally. Skylar really hoped Shiloh didn’t pick up on that. “You were fifteen?” She couldn’t help the note of incredulity in her voice. She hadn’t even dared to drink until she was well into her sophomore year of college, and that had been at the first and only college party she’d ever been to. “Oh my god, that’s hilarious,” Skylar laughed, shaking her head, “I’m sorry for laughing, but I get why your dad reacted that way. Aw. I can only imagine how awful it must have been for you.” She said and took another drink from her glass. Maybe it was the company, maybe it was the laughter, or maybe it was just the fact she was drinking on an empty stomach, but Skylar was feeling much less nervous about all this now, “Well. You don’t need to drink vodka straight anymore. There are much better drinks that can be made with it.”
“Cooool,” Shiloh drawled, wondering what it must have been like. Computers were interesting but Shiloh never got that far with them. Besides she never wanted anything for the money, just what she liked and what worked for her parents. Her parents were always supportive which made it even harder to figure out. “It was nasty. I didn’t drink until I was legal after that. Even then it wasn’t a lot. I’ve never been much of a drinker. I’ve only gotten drunk once,” Shiloh said, putting her finger up to emphasize it. “It wasn’t pretty.” She looked down, her smile actually fading. She reached for her drink once more. “Mm! Do you know how to make any drinks?” Maybe she could make some for her. She looked at Skylar. She was so pretty - even more so when she was smiling. Wow. Shiloh’s smile returned as she kept her gaze on Skylar.
“That makes a lot of sense, honestly.” Skylar said, suddenly remembering that Shiloh was in fact British. Which meant fifteen probably wasn’t that big of a deal when the legal drinking age was eighteen. “Ah, really? It takes a lot for me to get drunk, so I’m a bit unlucky. I just have a high tolerance. But, on the bright side, it means I don’t suffer through hangovers either.” She said honestly. It was cute how Shiloh gestured, though the way her face fell at the memory was a bit sad. It must have been a rough time. “Mm, not really. Just simple ones, that require like… ice and a mixer or two. Since it takes a lot for me to feel anything, I never really bothered to learn.” She said with a shrug. A slight twinge of pain radiated up her injured shoulder, but she did her best not to wince. Instead, she covered the motion with a slight shake of her hand, “Sorry, I’m just realizing now that going for drinks probably wasn’t my smartest idea...”
“Have you ever gotten drunk then?” Shiloh asked curious. She wondered just how high her tolerance was. As Skylar mentioned the drinks she could make, Shiloh kept drinking. She didn’t meet a lot of people with a high tolerance like hers. It was interesting. “Maybe you can make them for me, sometime.” Shiloh smiled, slowly batting her eyelashes, having drank enough to be unable to hide her affection toward Skylar but she was still her respectable self. No amount of drinks could change that. “Wait why? What’s wrong with the drinks?” Skylar looked uncomfortable for a moment. Did something happen? “Did I do something wrong?” It was her staring. It had to be. Shiloh averted her eyes, choosing to glance around the area. It was relatively busy. Mostly men though. She caught one staring at them. She frowned and turned her attention back to Skylar but not letting their eyes meet.
“Mhm, not really. I went to a party once in college, but getting drunk just makes it harder for me to understand people?” Skylar gestured to her ears, her hearing aids purposefully obscured by her hair. For one thing, the bright blue hearing aids didn’t really go with her outfit. For another, she wasn’t really sure how the very fancy people here would react to someone visibly different from them. The way Shiloh was looking at her was… confusing. What was going on..? Normally, Skylar had a decent handle on reading body language, but maybe it was the alcohol muddling things? She really hadn’t had that much though. “No, no, you didn’t do anything wrong. Really. I just...” She watched as Shiloh stared around the place. Oh god, she’d messed up. Rubbing her forehead with her hand, Skylar closed her eyes for a moment. She’d just say it and it would be fine and it wouldn’t be awkward. Or at least, it wouldn’t be this awkward. Opening her eyes, she offered an apologetic grimace, “I’m sorry. It’s just, I don’t do great in bars or clubs or things like that when I drink. Between how much it takes for me to feel anything and what happens when I do… It’s why I’d planned to stay home. But, um, if you’d like, I could make you a drink at mine?” Skylar asked, hopeful.
Suddenly it all made sense. “Oh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t even think about that.” Shiloh truly felt rude for not having taken Skylar’s hearing into consideration. “I’d love to go back to your place.” She quickly finished her wine glass but realized there was still some wine in the bottle. “You wanna finish that before we head out? They don’t hand out to-go cups unfortunately.” Shiloh got up from her seat, adjusting her jacket. Her head felt a little light but she could walk. It wasn’t bad at all. A hostess came by to ask if they were leaving and Shiloh nodded. They had her card on file, they’d charge it, it was all good. She outstretched her hand to Skylar with a smile, offering to help her out of her seat.
“Don’t worry! This is my fault, really. Not that anyone’s at fault, it’s just an honest mistake.” Skylar said, hoping she didn’t offend Shiloh. “Hm?” She glanced at the bottle and realized that there was easily another cup left. Whoops. Ack. Taking a long drink to finish off what was in her glass, she poured the rest of the wine into her cup, creating a very full glass that she had every intention of just chugging so she could leave this uncomfortably fancy bar. “Oh, hey, what’s that?” Tilting her head, she pointed over Shiloh’s shoulder. When Shiloh turned to look, Skylar threw the glass of wine back quickly, not caring all that much about how a nearby patron gasped in shock. Setting the glass down, Skylar blinked as warmth began to radiate from her stomach, now full of wine and nothing else. “Ah, whoops. Sorry. I thought I saw something. But, um, let’s get out of here?” She said awkwardly before taking the hand offered to her.
Shiloh glanced over her shoulder way too fast, the room spinning slightly. However she didn’t want Skylar to see that so she kept looking. To staring faces. Sheesh. She turned around when Skye touched her hand, a blush creeping when she did. “Alright let’s go.” She held her hand as they left the Artesian, immediately feeling better and enjoying the evening breeze against her warm cheeks. Oh god was she red? She stopped once they were outside but still held her hand. It was nice. She smiled over at her. “So which way to your place?”
Following Shiloh outside, Skylar was very aware of the fact that their hands were still touching-- not that she minded, at all. In fact, quite the opposite. “I’m in downtown, so we’ll be heading this way.” She said, tilting her head to the more central area of town. “it’s a little bit of a walk. I hope you don’t mind that.” She said. All things considered, though, it was a lovely evening. They were close enough to the Whye River that the smell of fish wasn’t that bad and it seemed as though there hadn’t been an instance of fish rain in a bit. “It’s actually really nice out. I can’t remember the last time I was outside and there weren’t anchovies coming down.” She said with a laugh. The fact that sentence was even real was mind blowing.
“Taking a walk with you? That sounds perfect.” Shiloh shifted her hand, slightly letting go to fit her fingers between Skylar’s. “Your hands are soft, it’s nice.” Shiloh complimented, looking over at Skylar. She didn’t have any clue as to how weird it might sound. She just thought it and said it. She then looked up to the night sky. Clear, so hopefully no chance of anchovies? “Do you like anchovies?” Shiloh asked, curious. “If any of them start falling we can just open our mouths and catch them.” She turned to look at Skylar before breaking into a laugh at the thought of them catching things in their mouths. What a strange town.
Skylar felt her cheeks turn bright red at the comment and was incredibly glad that it was dark enough that Shiloh couldn’t see it. But, the embarrassment quickly faded away when she realized they were still holding hands. “Ah. I, um, moisturize a lot. It’s good for the skin, particularly in winter.” She said, with a nod. That was one way of putting the weird slime situation. Just… self-moisturizer. Ew, that sounded awful. Nope. Ugh. As they continued walking down the street, the streetlights seemed just a bit brighter, the edges of her vision just a little bit hazier-- phew. The last of the wine was hitting her now. “Anchovies? I mean, they’re okay?” Skylar laughed, shaking her head at the idea of that. “Nope, I’d draw the line there. No snowflake-anchovy catching for me.” Glancing over at Shiloh, Skylar couldn’t help but grin. This was a very different side to the woman than she normally interacted with and… it was really cute.
“Oh c’mon,” Shiloh said nudging her shoulder against Skylar. “It would be fun.” No it wouldn’t be - Shiloh wasn’t that drunk but she wanted to see Skylar smile more. “Go try it, open your mouth and catch the anchovies. Say ahh,” Shiloh opened her mouth trying to get Skylar to do with her. But the image of it was too funny for her buzzed mind to take. She laughed again, dropping her head as she tried to hold it in. “Oh man,” Shiloh said with a sigh. “Thanks for agreeing to spend time with me, by the way. I was scared you might say no. That you might have plans with someone else on Valentine’s Day.”
“Mmm, not happening.” Skylar hummed, before laughing as Shiloh tried to convince her to do join in. Her head might be lightly spinning, but there wasn’t enough alcohol in the world that could convince her to do that. “Nope! Definitely not.” At Shiloh’s next words, Skylar couldn’t help but blink in confusion. Why would she have said no? If anything, she should be the one thanking Shiloh for even asking. But, it was the last part of her sentence that really threw her for a loop. Who else would Skylar have plans with..? “You had nothing to be scared about, really. I don’t usually have plans,” Skylar said before realizing that sounded super lame, “on Valentine’s day.” She added. Ah, great. Now instead of sounding like a shut-in, she just sounded like she never dated. Which… was true, but Shiloh didn’t need to know that. “Thank you for asking, really. This has been a lot of fun.”
“I find that hard to believe.” Shiloh said, her eyes not leaving Skylar (she should really watch where she’s going). “You’re so fun to hang out with, how do you not get Valentine’s Day plans?” Oh. She really said that huh? Oops. Shiloh looked away that time, clearing her throat. She was oddly comforted by the hand hold and started to slightly swing their hands as they walked. “I’m glad I asked.” She said with a smile. “I’ll ask every Valentine’s Day so you’ll always have plans.” Shiloh nodded. “Unless you don’t want to. You can say no,” she reminded her. “I’m sorry, I think I’m a little uh… tipsy.” She felt a slight breeze which made her momentarily. hunch her shoulders in reaction. Oh, Skylar might be cold. “It’s kind of cold. Do you want my jacket?” Shiloh asked since Skylar was just wearing a shirt. She didn’t want her to be cold though.
Glancing over at Shiloh, she caught how the other woman was looking at her and Skylar felt her cheeks darken. She pulled her eyes away to focus on the road ahead, gently tugging her hand to lead them down Main Street into the downtown area. The lights were a little hazy to her vision, but other than that, she was feeling pleasantly buzzed. “Oh, I don’t know, I don’t think I’m that fun to hang out with.” She said, waving the comment off with her free hand. Skylar blinked, startled by the offer. “I-- It’s okay! I’m feeling a bit of a buzz too, honestly.” She said. Hm? “Oh, I’m good, honestly. I kinda run warm.” She explained as they walked down the streets, past busy bars and restaurants making a brisk Valentine’s business.
“You are though.” Shiloh even gave her hand a squeeze - and she did notice Skylar’s hand was warm. Cool. She was about to say something else when she heard something fall on the ground. She turned her head, it was distant and she glanced back to see if Skylar noticed but remembered her hearing aid. Again she heard the sound. It was familiar. What was it? The sound started to seem closer and more frequent and then Shiloh saw it. Fish. “Uh, Skye?” She called out to her, tugging on her hand and then looking to meet her eyes. “The fish are coming.” In any situation it might have been funny to hear but right now it meant they had to find some cover and fast. Up ahead Shiloh saw a small awning. “Come on, over here.” She led them to it, finding it was a smaller space than she thought it would be. Skylar was really really close but she could hear the sound of fish splatting on the ground near them and she really didn’t want either of them to get smacked in the head. And right now maybe getting stuck pressed close to Skylar wasn’t the worst thing…
Not fully sure how to react to that, Skylar hummed noncommittally, cheeks still bright red. As they continued walking, she glanced at some of the people in the bars. It seemed as though there were lots of people enjoying the company of the people they cared about. Which was kinda what-- before she could read in too much into that thought, Shiloh tugged her hand. “Huh?” Focusing on Shiloh’s lips, she got something about fish-- oh no. Glancing up, she saw that there were indeed fish starting to come down. She hurried after Shiloh, but when they came to a sudden stop under the storefront, she nearly ran right into her in the confined space. “Ah, sorry...” Glancing down at the woman, Skylar was suddenly aware of how close they were. Her head was spinning from a combination of the wine and the soft scent of Shiloh’s perfume mixed with something distinctly woodsy. Maybe it was because she was so nice and sweet and wonderful. Or maybe it was just the wine. Either way, Skylar pushed all the thoughts from her mind as she leaned forward to kiss Shiloh.
Shiloh couldn’t look anywhere other than Skylar and her mind was buzzing with thoughts. She knew what she wanted to do and when she saw Skye coming close, she leaned up to meet her half way, closing her eyes when their lips met. Finally letting go of Skylar’s hand, it came up to rest on Skye’s waist as their kiss deepened. Maybe it was because Skylar was so close but Shiloh felt warmth covering her entire body as they kissed. Her lips were soft and the longer they kissed the more Shiloh wanted to taste. She would have continued, could have continued but there was a bang on the window they were leaning against. Apparently people were in there… whoops. Shiloh pulled away with a sheepish laugh, realizing also that her glasses had fogged up. She took them off to wipe them and realized there was a silence now. No more fish rain.
Skylar was pleasantly surprised when Shiloh met her halfway, lips soft against her own. The embrace was soft and sweet and not all that different the woman she was kissing. The longer they stayed there, the more Skylar’s head began to spin, from something entirely different from the alcohol. Lips parting slightly, she tilted her head just so-- the sudden bang startled her and she jumped a little, the sharp noise jarring her hearing aids. Skylar looked over to the source of the noise and went bright red. Oh god. There had been people-- had they seen that? They must have--Oh jesus. Watching as Shiloh cleaned her glasses, Skylar swallowed nervously. “I-- I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to just, um, kiss you out of the blue like that.” She said.
Shiloh turned to look at her smiling, “do I look like I minded?” Her eyes dropped to Skylar’s lips, unable to hold back and leaned to kiss her again, not giving a shit if anyone caught them. She pulled back. “There, now we’re even.” She reached down to grab Skylar’s hand once more. “We should probably hurry to your place before we get caught in the rain again. Come on.”
“I figured, I just--” Skylar’s mumbles were silenced by the kiss, which she was all too willing to lean back into. But, it ended just as soon as it began. A bit dazed, she nodded in agreement, allowing Shiloh to take her hand. “I… Yeah. That sounds like a good plan.” As she led the way back to her apartment, she couldn’t help but glance over at Shiloh for a moment. Wow. This wasn’t at all how she had thought her Valentine’s Day would have gone. But, the smile that refused to fade from her face was proof enough that it was a happy one.

alright, you know what
about two weeks ago maybe by now, i made a post about how i’ve recently hit 200 followers and i’d like to do a q&a again, and even with a reblog from someone more ~*popular*~ than me, and multiple reblogs once a day for a few days by myself, i didn’t get a single fucking question. not one. earlier today i posted two pictures of myself where i felt pretty (i’ve since deleted them) and nobody i actually know of liked it and i got asked by a stranger who doesn’t even follow me if i had any nsfw pictures. i don’t get asks anymore, i don’t get shit. and that tells me that, you may be following me, but you aren’t connecting with me. and i feel that. i get on tumblr and i don’t feel like i’m friends with fucking anybody. and i did that. i know i did that. 9/10 times i let my fear of rejection and embarrassing myself overcome my desire to talk to people, so i don’t do it, or i let it fizzle out and we go our own ways and we don’t become friends. 1/10 times i actually function as a human being and make a connection or at least something that sticks a little.
so here, below the cut, is a comprehensive (loosely) list of things that i like, in no particular order at all, besides tickling, because apparently both sides of this need a little help connecting on any front.
scooby-doo
beetlejuice
the addams family
the sims
the mcu
classic disney animations; my favorites are dumbo, the great mouse detective, the rescuers, sleeping beauty, and oliver and company (it’s old enough that i consider it in the classic category)
~modern disney animations too; my favorites are treasure fucking planet, coco, and... i’m a sap, beauty and the beast. rise of the guardians too even though it isn’t disney.
musicals; i can’t pick a favorite just fucking ask me, but i don’t know a lot of newer ones honestly
empire records
the greatest showman still
cats (i mean the animals but i also like the show even though it is Weird As Hell)
my cat in particular
alice in wonderland
stranger things
space jam
tsum tsums
elvira, mistress of the dark
dice
kiki’s delivery service and specifically jiji things
winnie the pooh i don’t even fucking care i LOVE HIM AND ALL OF HIS FRIENDS
silly hats
playdoh
interesting earrings
exploring libraries or big bookstores
true crime mysteries; my favorite youtuber for this is georgia marie, bless her. i also watch bella fiori and kendall rae
fictional mysteries too
i have a kind of fascination with jack the ripper and with the lizzie borden case
shipwrecks! i don’t know why but shipwrecks fascinate me! why did they go down? all the stories that went with them!
i once read a novel that was told as a series of letters, or journal entries, by people on the titanic, including the iceberg and it was THE absolute saddest book i have ever read in my life. like, obviously i knew what was coming, but i got attached to the characters, the letters made them alive and it was just like... NO. NO I DON’T WANT THEM TO DIE. I KNOW THEY’RE GOING TO BUT THEY CAN’T. and it was awful. i had to put it down and cry.
cryptozoology
the bermuda triangle theories (i’m not saying i believe sOmEtHiNg’S gOiNg On but i think some of the theories are interesting)
ghosts
the nancy drew computer games
monopoly
i still play a lot of my snes games; my go-to time killer and head-clearer honestly is kirby’s avalanche. i also play a lot of super mario rpg legend of the seven stars, super mario world, kirby’s dreamland 3, and donkey kong 2 and 3
final fantasy x in which i’m guaranteed to call almost (i can’t stress that enough) every character at some point “my child”
hyrule warriors, i know it’s not a tRuE zelda game but it’s fucking fun
same with fire emblem warriors
red dead redemption
kingdom hearts
the uncharted series
splatoon but i don’t have it wahhhhh
mind you i am not very Good at videogames, i just like to play them anyway
game grumps
ninja sex party
jacksepticeye
markiplier
monty python
crocheting
tea
harry potter
classic rock. pretty big on queen lately. i like tom petty and the heartbreakers. i like joan jett and the blackhearts.
i just... like rock. across the board. i like the offspring. i like some rage against the machine songs. acdc on the radio makes me happy. def leppard on the radio makes me happy. beartooth, starset, powerman 5000, as long as it’s got a good beat and good stuff going on behind the vocals then i’m gonna be happy. i’m way more into the guitars and the bass and everything going on instrumentally than i am vocally, honestly. the whole big guitar solo to van halen’s “you really got me” and then that bassline that comes in, that bassline is sexy. it’s so simple but i LIKE it.
anyway music as a whole gets me right in the heart and can lift me up when i am at my literal worst point
it’s hard for me to name a favorite or specific bands that i like because there’s so many and i’m not really picky about it.
pop vinyls
good ol’ vines
buffalo wings
mac and cheese
grilled cheese
dr. pepper
i drink a l o t of dr. pepper
pretending i know how to do makeup well
history; i watch a lot of expedition unknown and mysteries at the museum, and sometimes i’ll watch a free documentary on youtube if it catches my attention. last weekend i explained the donner party to my boyfriend. just.. on a whim. because i’d just watched a thing on it and he said he didn’t really know what it was. i’m that person.
OH I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THIS BACK AROUND TRUE CRIME BUT I READ A BOOK ABOUT H.H. HOLMES AND HIS MURDER CASTLE AND THE CHICAGO WORLD’S FAIR. it was by erik larson, i believe. larsen? i could google this. devil in the white city. there’s been talks to make it a movie. it’s a good read though i will admit i skipped a lot of the fair parts because i was there for the murder.
i also read a book about the lusitania by the same author and i was like ohhh my goooood what. it got a little boring sometimes, i had to push myself to keep going, but i would read dead wake again.
csi: miami reruns are the greatest thing don’t @ me
dark purple and black aesthetics
just like... witchy aesthetics. those colors and black cats
if you haven’t noticed by any selfies i’ve posted, i do have my lip pierced and i love finding new lip jewelry. i have a new opal stud in and i love its look
leather jackets
combat boots; i have a galaxy print pair and a pair with classic marvel comics stuff printed on the inside and you can fold down the sides to show it. they’re my faves.
owls
drunk history
the first 5 seasons of supernatural and i still have a soft spot for the winchesters and castiel
i’m slowly making my way through watching the librarians
i’m also making my way slowly through watching the magicians
(american) football

going to the zoo
going to the aquarium
like really take me to either of the above and i will lose my shit

speaking of pools i love swimming ... but i suck at it, i just like boppin’ along in a pool
cookouts
summer
there is nothing like being out in the middle of nowhere in summer when the evening starts to fall and the sky is dark, dark blue and there’s a sea of shimmering lightning bugs out over a field. it’s beautiful. it’s peaceful.
there’s nothing like sitting outside on a calm spring night and listening to the spring peepers (they’re frogs) either.
if you couldn’t tell, i live in the middle of nowhere. i have to find enjoyment in the little things.
campfires
dancing around said campfire, you cannot have a campfire without good music. this is when a lot of my classic rock education came to pass.
elephants
my favorite books are the abhorsen trilogy by garth nix, tied with the serpent’s shadow by mercedes lackey
i am trying to get into comic books by way of the youtube channel comicstorian. they break comic books down for you and read them aloud with the images, altered slightly to avoid copyright strikes (and that’s all made very clear, it’s not done sketchily), and it’s been really easy for someone like me who doesn’t just have a comics store close (and i would otherwise continue on as i have been, forgetting to ever look for them on the internet). i listened to injustice 1 and 2, and they covered the game. i’m actively following scooby apocalypse, and there was some teen titans stuff i went all the way through up until now. i don’t think it’s finished yet from what i remember.
i love museums
candles
i actually kind of collect tea sets
i also have a collection of sand art bottles AND IF I’M EVER AT A FESTIVAL OR A FAIR WHERE THERE IS A SAND ART STAND YOU CAN BET I AM GOING TO MAKE ONE
yugioh duels; i’m definitely just a novice and it’s just a fun pastime my friends got me into when they found their giant binders of cards again
i’m not actually that big on pokemon, i don’t know a lot of them but it’s still fun and i know some. but i did love pokemon go when my friends still played it (don’t really have time anymore, and it kept crashing way too badly on one of their phones anymore anytime they tried to join a raid and it just wasn’t fun as a group then)
i don’t have any but i like the ~look of crystals and would like to have some, not for my own aesthetic but i just... like having pretty things!
listening to the rain
how the air smells (at least where i live) after a long rain and everything is just cleansed
depression has stopped me from writing for a long time but, in my heart, writing has always been something that has touched me ever since i knew how to do it and could put my stories down on paper instead of having to just talk about them... so i’m going to include that here
root beer floats
hotdogs
hard dip ice cream (if you don’t know what hard dip means... as my boyfriend didn’t... it means ice cream that you have to use a scoop with, not soft serve)
soft serve’s good too tho don’t get me wrong
strawberry milkshakes
this isn’t even stuff that anyone would need to know on this site to befriend me at this point, nobody’s gonna message me like HEY I READ YOU LIKE STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKES ME FUCKING TOO
you’re cool if you do that lmao
so bad they’re good creature features from the 50s and 60s
the old godzilla movies
i like the moon more than the stars, but i like them too
flower crowns
bouncy balls
original skittles
this has gone on way too long, nobody is reading this, your mom’s a hoe, goodnight
no she’s not, i’m sorry, if you got this far then i hope your mom is a nice person
#about me#THERE'S A LONGASS LIST OF THINGS I LIKE IN HERE SO IF YOU WANT TO BE MY FRIEND THEN THERE'S A PLACE TO START#OK THEN

Lately
UP10TION Wei (Lee Sungjun) X Kogyeol (Go Minsoo)
Bias X Reader
Genre: Fluff and contemplation, lol
PART 1 (maybe)
You had been anticipating this school trip for months. It was your first overnight-trip, or any kind of trip really, without your family. Just you and your friends. Well, and the rest of your classmates and the supervising faculty staff as well. It was your class’ turn to take a historical tour that all the students enrolled in that history course took, at some point during their semester, to visit and learn more about the various historical spots in the country as per usual of the course. It would be a five hour drive to the location, so the buses had to leave at 6:00am. You would get to the location and then spend the night and return in the afternoon the next day. So that was also exciting, but stressful at the same time. There was nothing in your closet that you wanted to be seen in. Luckily, you already discussed this with your friends and you were going shopping with the money from your part-time job on the weekends to buy a new outfit at least for the first day. The second day didn’t seem to matter as much. It would be a short day and you would just riding a bus for the bulk of it. You met your friends at the indoor mall on the other side of town. After conceding to your friend Ailee’s requests to get some food first, you all took your trays of food and sat at the high chairs in the mall’s food court. Your eyes caught sight of a familiar group of guys first. You nudged your best friend’s side urgently. “Jiji, look! Look!” Jiji turned and looked in your direction. “Sungjun is here. Is this fate or what…” You mused, fantastically whimsical. Jiji smirked and took a long sip of her bubble tea before answering you.
“Or what. This is the closest mall to school. Everybody comes here.” “Whatever. Just come with me.” You responded flippantly while dragging her off her bar stool and coming down off of yours simultaneously. Jiji’s eyes bugged. “You’re going to confess to him here?” “I have to. If I don’t tell him soon I think I’ll explode.” You both started to make your way over to where he was. Jiji halted you in both of your tracks. “What about, Minsoo?” She asked you, almost frantically. It made you stop moving. More out of confusion than anything else. “What about him?” Jiji bit her lip and shot a look over towards Ailee and the other girls. “I wasn’t supposed to tell you….” “Tell me what? Hurry up, Sungjun is about to leave—“ “Three weeks ago Ailee told me that Minsoo told her in strict confidence that he was going to ask you out on this trip, they’ve been planning something—but I don’t know what they’re planning exactly so don’t get mad at me okay? And I know you said you gave up on him last semester-but love doesn’t disappear that fast right? It was all just bad timing and I’m just the messenger who was never supposed to be the messenger!” Jiji’s words tumbled out of her mouth faster than she could even keep up with and spun in circles around your head twice as fast. All you could get out was, “What?” You felt, both, glued to the floor and as if you were swimming in thick water. You and Minsoo had grown up together. You met him when you transferred to a different school when you were 13. You had a crush on Minsoo immediately and you, being the type of person you were, even confessed to him within the first month of meeting him. He told you he didn’t even know you and you should just be friends. You compiled. Hoping that once he got to know you better, you’d date. So settled for that. Keeping hope close to your heart for all these years. It paid off. During the summer break of your last year (of high school), he confessed to you. Stating that he would’ve done it sooner but he had thought you had given up on him a long time ago. You assured him you had not. It was almost a happy ending. Until you were waitlisted at your university of choice. The same University as Minsoo. You refused to go to any other school. So you opted to enroll in an online school to take some University courses come spring, so you wouldn’t fall behind, and reapply the next year. Minsoo, on the other hand, had been accepted and was leaving come fall. So after only a few months of blissful meeting, you told him with a heavy heart that he should go and experience college life without burden. He tried to convince you that nothing would change between you if you dated and he would still come down and see you every day. You couldn’t accept introducing that kind of stress on him while he was studying. So you told him that it was just over. He took it pretty hard. It led to him distancing himself from you after a while. Which you took as what it was. When you finally got accepted into his University a year later after reapplying, he actually approached you first. However, neither of you could find the right time or moment to bring up the idea of the two of you. You wanted to confess again, but didn’t want it to seem like you were just following him around like a sad puppy. You were already at the same University as him when during the last year, with your good grades, you could’ve applied literally anywhere else…You started to think to yourself. Why didn’t you? Then you wouldn’t be in this mess now. “Earth to Y/N.” Jiji gently flicked your forehead to snap you back to reality. Your focus rearranged and you spotted Sungjun and his friends leaving the food court and exiting out the side doors of the mall. You exhaled heavily. “What are you doing?” “Exploding.”
The next day came amid much excitement. Your dorm mates stayed up all night with you, helping you not over pack and trying to calm you down. You didn’t know why you were still so excited. It was going to be a sh*t show. Minsoo and Sungjun were both going to be on the trip. They didn’t know each other, but you knew both of them. Ailee was Minsoo’s good friend since they came to this University at the same time and met in new student orientation for first-year University students. You met Sungjun the same way, except, in orientation for transfer students. Jiji, you met through Ailee, who Minsoo had introduced you to, in efforts to help you make new friends when you first came to this school. By simple scheduling necessity, you all took the same History course, just at different times. You sighed again. Was Minsoo really going to confess? You made your way to the meeting place. Where all the students and faculty were gathered around. Everyone was milling about hugging their coats to their mouths and trying to shuffle away the cold. You tried peeking around for faces you recognized. When you couldn’t see anyone past the masses of student bodies, you pulled out your phone to call Jiji. The Head of the History Department called out for everyone’s attention and told everyone to listen for their professor’s name and line up in front of the bus number he would assign to the teacher’s name. Your heart jumped. You had a feeling the bus assignments would be by Professor. That meant you would be riding with Jiji and Sungjun. Ailee on a different bus and Minsoo on another. You breathed a sigh of relief. At least you wouldn’t have to think of anything for the next five hours. You heard the Head of Department call out your Professor and her assigned bus number and made your way through the bustle of students towards your bus. When you arrived, you checked in with your Professor and moved forward to put your overnight bag under the bus. As you backed up, you bumped into a warm body. You turned around surprised, “Oh! Sorry!—“You recognized Minsoo’s smiling face, “Minsoo!” “Why are you surprised? You know I have this class too.” “I know, but I thought they called your professor’s name already. You should be on your bus…” “I came off for a minute to give you something.” He pulled one of his hands from behind his back. It was holding a small plush backpack in the shape of Rilakkuma. “Rilakkuma!” You beamed at the backpack. “I remember you used to collect things like these.” He looked at you slightly nervous. “Do you still like them?” You nodded immediately. He smiled, relieved. The Department Head announced the bus numbers and professor’s name as a last call. Minsoo continued, “There’s things you like inside. Open it when you feel a craving.” You smiled up at him, touched. “Thanks, Minsoo.” “Anytime.” Minsoo lingered, his hand suddenly reaching up and holding yours. “You think if I ride your bus instead, I’ll get in trouble?.” He joked. You laughed a tiny bit, “They’ll probably call roll on the bus to make sure people aren’t skipping. You could get marked absent.” “You’re worth it.” Minsoo remarked without missing a beat. You got a bit shy and looked away, “What’s with you today…” You said softly trying not to smile. Minsoo shrugged while never taking his eyes off of you. “Just making up for lost time, I guess.” You wanted to ask him if it was for lost time to come on the bus ride or lost time that already passed. You heard a knocking on the bus window and looked up, Jiji’s face was warning you to get on the bus already. “I should go.” “Oh? I forgot Jiji was in your class.” He motioned for her to open the window. She obliged, “What do you want, Minsoo—It’s cold!” Minsoo pulled a face at her before answering, “Just make sure you take care of Y/N. I don’t want anything happening to her.” Jiji rolled her eyes at the sentiment. “Oh please! We’re riding a bus down there, not a horse! Y/N come on! They’re pulling off!” Minsoo played with your fingers, “Go. I should go, too. I’ll see you down there.” “Bye.” You called out after him as he squeezed his way past some of the late-arriving students scrambling to find their Professor’s bus. You watched him disappear into the crowd before pushing your way onto the bus. Jiji stood up and flagged you down to where she was sitting. You made your way to her, clutching your purse and new Rilakkuma bag. Her eyes flitted to the plush bag and she couldn’t help but snicker. “Did Minsoo give you that?” You plopped down next to her, and pretended to be nonchalant. “Maybe he did.” “Did he say…anything?…” She probed quietly. You shook your head, knowing what she meant. “Not exactly, no.” “What do you mean ‘not exactly’?” Jiji asked folding her arms and leaning sideways in her seat to face you. You sat catty corner in your seat to face her as well. “I mean, he said things, but didn’t really say anything.” Jiji let out a high pitched sigh of annoyance. “I feel like I’m getting stressed just trying to keep up with you two.” You fixed your mouth to agree with her but got interrupted but a male voice. “Keep up with who? Me and Y/N?” Sungjun’s joking voice filtered into the conversation. You both greeted him happily. “You’re late!” You stated playfully. “I know! I didn’t even hear my alarm clock go off!” “Hm. It’s lucky you didn’t get left behind.” You commented. He smirked, “Lucky for who? Me or you?” He raised an eyebrow. You reached out to hit him and he backed just out of reach, before reaching out and grabbing your hand. “Sit with me.” “I’m already sitting with Jiji.” “Don’t use me as an excuse.” Jiji interjected. You whipped your head around at her and gave her a glare. She just smiled at you. Living for the torment in your eyes. “Be a big girl and make your own decisions.” You heard her loaded statement despite her light tone. “Fine.” You turned to Sungjun, “I’ll sit with you.” Sungjun beamed and picked your bags from you and guided you to an empty pair of seats that happened to be two seats behind Jiji. You scooted in towards the window at his offering and settled in. After putting both of your bags and his own in the overhead above your seats, Sungjun settled down next to you as well. “You wanna know something funny?” “What?” “I’ve been thinking all week how to ask you to sit with me on this bus ride.” “What?” You partially laughed as he held his own semi-embarrassed smile, “Really?” Sungjun nodded his head and let out a grunt while covering his smiling face momentarily. After looking at you for a quick moment, he exhaled and licked his lips due to them being a bit dry, and then looked straight ahead as he spoke. “Don’t ask me why. I just know it’s all I thought about.” “Well here we are.” You tossed in to ease his weird nerves. You felt another opening to tell him your feelings in this moment for some reason. “I saw you in the mall yesterday.” He turned his head towards you in surprise, “You did? Why didn’t you say anything?” “I was going to, but then you left before I could get over to you-it was in the food court and you were eating a hamburger…” You trailed off, not sure why you felt you had to add that last part. Sungjun just laughed at your observation. “You could’ve still come over, if that’s what stopped you. Me eating?” “That wasn’t it.” “Then what was it? And you know it was funny? I was actually talking about you with my friends then.” You felt your confession bubbling at the back of your throat. It was like a compulsion. Everytime you got around him, lately, you wanted to spill your guts. You looked down into your lap and in untimely but pure coincidence, you got a two messages from Minsoo back to back.
let’s eat lunch together today.
I was thinking we could talk…i’ve been having a lot of thoughts lately…
Sungjun’s eyes flitted to your phone. You clicked the screen off immediately but not hurriedly and looked out the window. You heard him ask you innocently, “You okay? Who was that?” “A Senior I know. He wants to have lunch together when we arrive…” You spoke absent-mindedly before remembering the conversation that had been cut off before you saw your text messages, “You said you were talking about me with your friends?” “Mhm.” Sungjun nodded and stood up to get his bag from the overhead. He sat back down and began to rummage through it. “What about me were you talking about?” Instead of answering you, Sungjun handed you a small envelope with your name on it. “Wait! Don’t read it now.” He lips carried a nervous smile as he hurriedly put his hand over yours as you tried to open the envelope. “Read it after the day is over. In your room. Let’s just spend the day happily. Learn new things. Create memories.” You felt your stomach leap forward and twist.

2017.07.27 StarCon Tokyo Live Tour
I thought nothing could top the Magic Prince concert I went to about a month ago but then I went to this one and holy moly, it was SO much freaking fun! Allow me to explain! BUT I would also like to add that this day was my 2nd Anniversary since landing in Japan so I was already in high spirits. I think I made the right choice in celebrating my second anniversary with this concert...
So first I went with my TouMyu light -- yup! No shame here! -- those lights had Amane’s blue AND Hiroki’s red so I had to use them! I was so prepared this time unlike last time -- I forgot penlights at Magic Princes’ concert AND for YumeStage!
BACKGROUND
If you don’t know what StarCon is... you need to know. A crapton of stage actors in an otome-styled dorama -- it’s corny as hell and not well written and not even that good but the enjoyable level and the shipping between the boys themselves is just perfect! Also KenKen and Hiroki’s relationship in real life is beautiful enough to motivate you to watch these boys! Also they’re all super talented and all really nice in real life!
Official Site here.
PRESHOW
The goods had a tokuten (special extra) where for every 5000 yen you spent, you got a cheki ticket; so I ended up spending over 10,000 yen and got two cheki tickets!
Unfortunately, because it was the first show, they were super unorganised and I didn’t even have my ticket number called at 6 which is when the show was supposed to start. So they ended up starting about 15 minutes later than schedule - the wait was worth it though!
THE SHOW
My first comment when the concert ended was: HOOOLLLYYY CCCRRRAAAAAPPP THAT WAS AMAZING!!! AND THEY’RE ALL SO HOT! and I am not joking. Before the concert started my ranking for the boys was probably:
1. Amane 2. Minami 3. Hiroki 4. Kanade 5. Shaun 6. Musashi 7. Riichiro and Sharaku
BUT after the concert it went:
1. Amane 2. Hiroki 3. Kanade 4. Minami 5. Shaun 6. Riichiro 7. Musashi 8. Sharaku
But seriously... all of them are freaking amazing and sweet and gorgeous! xD
I cannot explain just how amazing this show was. The performances were great, the songs were great, the costumes were awesome, Amane x Hiroki freaking everywhere, the dancers were great, even the boys chemistry with each other shone through so brightly; you can tell how genuinely close they are with each other and how good-a-friends they are!
Speaking of Amane x Hiroki -- during the freaking Yes/No song, they were in the top right corner of the stage practically grinding against each other and I was like ‘o_O oh my!’ and Hiroki had this mischievous simile on him which didn’t help how already sexy they were being today *dead* AND they did the song twice so I died at least twice this night!!
BUT surprisingly, I think D4U stole the entire show! They were only on stage for like 5-10 minutes and they were absolutely hilarious and amazing! They came on stage, in their usual smirky, egotistic fashion. However, while one of them could completely stay in character and keep completely professional, the other one had to hide his mouth the entire time so it didn’t look like he was dying of laughter but the guys and the audience were laughing so hard at him. And the pure contrast of ‘completely in character and unbreakable’ vs his coworker ‘cannot stay in character because his coworker is being so ridiculous and funny with a straight face’ was pure gold. And then they kicked the StarCon guys off stage and were like ‘we have a new song for you today.... and a new dance move’ so they showed us the dance move and the song started. It was such a good song but also hilarious. One guy sang while the other strutted about the stage and danced because the song was all about him and the dance move was so ridiculous; we were all loving the performance while crying with laughter. It was so much fun!
KenKen (Amane) being the old man he is, after they finished the first song, looked at the audience and his team members and said “Why am I the only one sweating?! Just cos I’m an old man! Why am I sweating the most?!” and he complained a good two or three times throughout the entire show that he was the only one sweating and the guys just said ‘yeah but cos you’re old’ xD pretty sure Hiroki called KenKen ‘Jiji (old man)’ the most. Hiroki complained at one point too but only to the audience ‘why are none of you sweating?! You’re not working very hard are you!?! You should be sweating just as much as us!’ xD
A similar part from KenKen was during an MC part and the boys mentioned how nervous they were because it was their first proper concert, and then we had KenKen to the side commenting “well y’know Cocoa Otoko?” and digging in that he was a professional at concert.
Another dig was when Sharoku’s character commented on how small Kanade and Minami are and he immediately regretted his comment and wanted to talk it back. It just slipped out. The boys gave him such evils xD
Kanade’s actor surprised me the most; at first I had no idea who he was! I was like ‘okay I recognised 7... who the fuck is this?! Did they replace a member?! Who’s this?!’ but once he started talking I was like ‘KANADE?!’ he looked sooooooooo sexy! His hairstyle change really helped his appeal! I thought he was super cute in the dorama anyway but DAMN he’s even more gorgeous in real life! I really fell for him! He was kinda fighting for my attention whenever he was on stage and stole my attention a few times from KenKen xD sorry KenKen! He is gorgeous! LOOK!!!
Another MC part was when they wanted to talked about the MVPs of this concert; one (I think) was Riichirou’s actor because he mentioned how he held them all behind because he’s uncoordinated and a slow dance learner, but he tried his hardest and was able to be just as amazing as everyone else and was like ‘you did great! / yoku ganbarimashita ne!’. I think the other one was Sharoku’s actor... but unfortunately I don’t remember why... sorry!!
They used a towel during a song too which was fun; but I didn’t have a towel so used my penlight -- naturally in the blue colour for KenKen ^_^
Did I mention the stage was ridiculously close? It was so nice being so close to them and the boys properly could look at most of the crowd ^_^
Figuring out which colours to give the boys (especially anyone other than Hiroki, Minami and Amane) was a little difficult, especially for D3U too but I think most people had the same idea about the colours and we all almost matched ^_^ D4U was purple if I remember correctly.
*
AFTERSHOW
Once the show finished they were like ‘the chekis are going to take about 2 hours’ and I was like ‘I gotta be up at like 5am!’ and it ended up taking a LOT longer. especially because they were like ‘anyone who is in a hurry should go first’ and half the room got in line... wtf xD It took almost 3 hours. They took a break about about the first hour which was adorable! When they came back on stage Hiroki was at the front of the stage just going ‘where are people from?’ and some people answered him.
I felt so sorry for the boys! They had to pose for a LONG time!
I’m rather happy (thinking back now) that it was a group shot rather than in individual member shot. I like all the boys so would rather have them all together. BUT if it had been individual shots, the Ino line would’ve taken hours while the other members could probably take their time and take it easy and talk to fans longer etc, which I wish I could’ve seen. Pretty much 80% of the room was there for Ino so would’ve been nice to be like ‘oooo only about 15 people are here for KenKen? Sweet! We can actually have a conversation with him!’ and then probably even less for Kanade and Shaun who I also would’ve gone to. I probably would’ve gone to Riichiro as well, especially after seeing him act in YumeStage just two days beforehand.
I hope for their next con they offer both group AND individual member chekis just so I can get the best of both shots AND so I can see the vast difference in their popular and get to spend more time with the non-Hiroki-popular ones xD
I was super happy that the chekis were in their first outfit that they came on stage with because I really liked the theme and style of it. And I was even more excited when the decided position for the boys was Hiroki to the right of you and KenKen to the left of you so naturally I could be with the top two in my ranking <33
As I mentioned earlier, this was the first con so it was super unorganised and it shone through in the cheki time too. The staff had told the early leavers to line up first but them never said anything ever again, so it took a while before people started asking ‘where’s the line? I wanna line up!’ it got so ridiculous that a girl in front of me made a ‘End of the Line’ sine and told us to pass it down to the end -- I cannot believe fans had to end up making that sign instead of the staff! It was ridiculous >.<
I feel really bad that I pretty much just blocked Hiroki out xD Iw as super freaking nervous and really wanted to tell KenKen ‘Congratulations on getting married’ more than anything and I always get really embarrassed for the girls who literally have to be hauled away from staff so I really don’t wanna be one of those so I was super lightning fast. I pretty much went:
Me: Yoroshiku onegaishimasu! Peace please! *pose* Bishin: *said something and everyone laughed but I was way too in my brain, my notes say he said something like "shouldn’t we say ‘thank you’ in English?”* Me: Heart please! *pose* *turns to KenKen* Congrats on your marriage! KenKen: Thank you! *I snatch the chekisfrom staff and leave with a little wave to KenKen*
LOOK KENKEN LENT IN!!!! I was so happy when I saw the pictures!!
Also, I am sorry Hiroki!!! If I’d had the balls I would’ve properly turned and faced everyone and said ‘Otsukaresama’ for TouStage and for YumeStage but like I said... I don’t want to be one of those fans so I just did a quick rush xD but I do feel bad I pretty much stayed turned to Kenken the entire time and ignored Hiroki >.< Oooooops.
I will go on record and say I was the fastest fan that day with the chekis.
*
EXTRAS
They also had cameras in tonight so either a documentary OR they’re making a live DVD -- which I would by in a heartbeat!
I also intend to buy the rest of the StarCon CDs now because I enjoyed all the songs so freaking much! My favourites were either Kanade x Minami pair’s song or Shaun x Riichirou’s pair song <3 and how could I forget how amazing the new D4U song was! I hope that’s on CD soon!
*
And that’s it! Seriously watch that piece of cheesy crap called the StarCon drama and listen to ALL the CDs and get to know all the boys! The boys chemistry is so amazing to see.
I know the official twitter (here) asked us what we wanted next and I think a Season 2 of the Dorama was the most picked option so fingers crossed we get more dorama, more CDs and more concerts from them!

I think the silicone lid is a great addition as it helps with the steeping process, or if you are a slow tea drinker it helps to maintain heat in the mug. My request got so stuffed that the word limit was reached yet here i come as a message to you: Even tho this blog is relatively new (i assume?) it's already one of my fav bnha imagime blogs bc of your writing skills and u just seem so sweet idk? Bless your soul and if u have time, answer this msg with some random facts about you (examples) what u do, how life is going and more! I bet ur followers would also love to get to know you. Feel me throw my appreciation at you!
OH MY WORD 🌌Bless your soul, anon 💕
If you are really interested, I’m happy toshare some random trash about my life.
I’m going to start with the basics, so if itgets tooboring or too creepy, you can always stop 🙈
I’m a 22 years old hobby author, currentlyliving in Japan. I major in Japanese Studies, so I decided being an abroadstudent would be a good opportunity to improve my speaking skills. Actually,I’m from Germany, so neither English nor Japanese are my first languages, thereforeI apologize for any future mistakes. I consider myself the most fluent inEnglish and Japanese though. Further, I’m also able to understand French andSpanish, but I can’t really communicate 🙈 It’s been such a long timesince I spoke either of them.
My hobbies include (surprise, surprise) writing, reading anddrawing. Before I began with Japanese Studies, I wanted to apply at anart school, but my lazy ass kept me from doing a portfolio 🙈 My favorite writers are Kafkaand Dazai Osamu and my favorite book is “No longer human”. I know a lot ofpeople who don’t appreciate his writing, but I can’t really understand it, tobe honest.
I also do sports a lot, but I don’tparticularly consider it a hobby. I might be addicted, but I’m not really a fanof it😂 I’m doing it mostly because ofhealth related reasons.
By the way, speaking of Kafka, I’m going towrite my Bachelor’s thesis about the motifs of Kafka’s “Metamorphosis” inthe manga Tokyo Ghoul.
Manga and Anime are a huge part of my lifeand like most people, I’m a multi fandom person. This might take a littlelonger, so I’m just gonna list them
Yuri on Ice - I’m a slut forViktor Nikiforov 💕 you only need to mention his name and I’ll fangirl forhours. Makkachin makes literally my soul happy, I mean, I own a smartphone casewith him and every time I’m depressed I look at it and feel way better. Viktorcomes for me as a pair with Yuuri, so they are my babies ❤ and notforget to mention my smol, angry kitten Yuri Plisetsky. I love him to theextend, that I own his jacket and I’m actually wearing it as a normalone.
Bungou Straydogs - I started to watch itbecause I have a thing for Japanese authors and there are really some greatreferences in both, manga and anime. I fell in love with Chuuya and I’mmentally married to him. I love Akutagawa because he’s ugly 😂 I own a lot of BSD merch, particularly Chuuya stuff.
Touken Ranbu - but it’s more thegame than the anime 😃 and I’m a sword fanatic, thanks to them 🙈Two of my most treasured figures are the two most beautiful Jiji’s in theworld, Mikazuki Munechika und Tsurumaru Kuninaga
Tsukiuta - not really the animeeither, this is all about the voice actors. I really love voice actors and inthis project there is like a compilation of the best. For example KimuraRyouhei, I adore him so much, I bought the fanclub’s bracelet of his Tsukiutacharacter Shun and I wear it constantly. I also own a huge collection of DramaCD’s, most of them delicate ones and I hope no one will ever touch them, orI’ll die in embarrassment
OF COURSE BNHA!!!! – One of mybest friends recommend it and it’s one of the best shounen I’ve ever read andseen. I instantly fell in love with Deku 💕 every time I see him, I just wanna hug him andruffle his hair. He’s my son 😍 and Shouto is my sleepy boy ❤ all I wantto do is hug him all day long and beat the shit out of his scum of a father.Kiri and Baku are my Bae’s and I low key want to get laid by them? OMG… did Ijust really write this? Tbh, I really love all of the characters in the seriesbecause every of them is so thought through!
I mean, bnhais the reason why I started this blog, it’s such a huge inspiration for me 😍
Talkingabout inspiration, when I’m looking for some writing inspiration I always check @goddamnitdazai ‘s blog. She doesn’t know, but Em is a huge role model for meand I adore her writing so much! Her style is like really smooth and it alwayshits 100%
Other randomfacts about me, my life depends on coffee 🍵I call my best friend Shithead or Taichou, depending on the circumstances. Shecalls me Yuri because of my jacket. Fun factabout me and Taichou (btw she’s from France, keep that in mind for what is aboutto come) Last vacation we went on a trip to Korea, no one of us speaks any Korean(My Korean friend lied to me, when she told us we could use English or Japanese,my ass, you can’t) and we ended up in one of those demonstrations for/oragainst the president (I’m still not sure which side) and people pressed someKorean flags into our hands, putting us on a screen and celebrating. We fearedfor our lives because we were the only foreigners and didn’t what was happening😂 every time we bring this up, our Korean friends are starting to laughthere asses off 🙈
My favorite placeto write for this blog is on my bed, with my tablet on my legs, and my 707mysme pillow in my back.
Anyways, I thinkthis is enough of my life’s garbage and I’m kind of sorry for everyone who readthis 🙈 I also realize that I sound like a huge otaku?! I’m actually not🙈😃
Sending you lots of love

Anybody Want A Piece of Popcorn? | Shiloh & Nadia
Shiloh wasn’t sure how to prepare her house. She said cats were okay so that meant Jiji could stay and not be stuck in her parents’ home. Drinks? Shiloh had some alcohol chilled just in case. She didn’t drink soda so it would literally only be water or gatorade. She hoped Nadia liked either of them. Or brought her own! Shiloh had said she could bring whatever she liked. Shiloh knew she liked her popcorn with certain toppings that might not be what she liked. Either way, they could figure this out when they were both in the room. The TV was already set up on YouTube whenever they were ready to start the movie. While she was fixing up the couch, there was a knock at her door. Jiji moved between her legs. “It’s a friend, Jiji boy. Be cool.” She said and then walked over to her door, opening it, giving Nadia a small wave and letting her step inside. “It’s nice to meet you in person.”
So, Nadia had never actually done this before. Just, like, gone over to someone’s house to hang out and watch a movie. Suffice to say, she didn’t quite know what to do, and she’d sat in her car for about five minutes outside Shiloh’s house planning out what she was going to say. It wasn’t weird! Being prepared was important, and knowing what to say was even more so. Being prepared was one of the ways that Nadia had always used to try and combat anxiety; it was much, much easier to go into a situation if things were planned out. So, grabbing the box of popcorn and a pack of Milk Duds that she’d gotten to go along with it, she headed to the door and knocked. She smiled when Shiloh introduced herself, taking in the other woman’s soft accent. “It’s nice to meet you, too! So, I brought, like, a thing of the microwave popcorn? Because I didn’t know how much, and I was going to bring wine, but I didn’t know if you drank because some people don’t and,” she was going off script. She scratched the back of her neck. “Yeah.” She looked down and saw a cat, most likely Shiloh’s, and she relaxed a little. Cats were much easier than words. “Cute cat.”
Shiloh chuckled at the box of popcorn before taking it off her hands. “That’s a lot of popcorn, but it’s fine. More for us right.” She opened the box to pull out the packets of popcorn. “I do drink. I have some alcohol in the fridge. I have a few beers and some wine, so go ahead and grab whatever you’d like.” Shiloh motioned to the fridge as she started to open a packet of popcorn. The crinkling caught her cat’s attention and he jumped onto the island. She glanced over at Nadia. “Oh yeah, that’s Jiji. He’s a little shy but food tends to make him bold.” She held out the bag of popcorn kernels to him. He gave it a sniff. “Oh, sorry, it’s a habit.” She let out a little nervous laugh. “I let him sniff whatever is in my hands. He doesn’t get a taste, but I encourage his curiosity.” She shrugged after, knowing it probably sounded weird. She put the first packet in the microwave and turned it on as she moved to open the next one. It was fair that they’d have their own popcorn right?
Nadia felt her brain short circuit at the thought that she’d brought too much popcorn, but Shiloh seemed to think that it was more humorous than anything, so she let herself relax a bit. “I also brought Milk Duds? I usually don’t eat them, but they’re, like, a classic movie candy. And they pair well with popcorn.” She went over to the fridge to grab a beer. Was this, like, a thing? She had no idea how to act in another person’s home in this capacity. As she opened it and grabbed one, she looked back at Shiloh. “Would you like one, too?” She watched as the other woman let Jiji sniff the popcorn bag. It was cute. She smiled. “Don’t apologize. He’s adorable. And you could’ve told me that it was, like, proper animal care to let them do that, and I’d have taken your word for it. I never had pets. Wanted them. Was actually going to get a puppy with my college roommate, but things have a way of not working out. He’s precious, though, and it’s cool that you encourage him.”
“What are milk duds? I’ve never had them if I’m being honest.” Shiloh pulled one of the popcorn bags out, giving it a little shake before putting the other one in. “Oh and yes, please I wouldn’t mind a beer.” Shiloh thought about the milk duds. Milk candy? Milk chocolate. Ooh, American chocolate is so sweet, her mother loved it. She was willing to try it. Shiloh looked over at Jiji who was sitting up on the counter, but his head was lowered, his eyes on Nadia. He seemed to be okay with her presence for now but who’s to say something won’t make him run off. “Oh, I’m sorry you couldn’t get a puppy. I never had a pet before I moved here. He just showed up on our doorstep one day and we were like okay why not! Sometimes he goes into my parents house just over there but if I’m home, he stays here.” The microwave beeped and Shiloh went to grab some big bowls to pour them in. “So do you eat your popcorn with the milk duds?”
“Milk Duds are like… little balls of caramel wrapped in milk chocolate,” Nadia said as she grabbed Shiloh a beer. She twisted the caps off the glass bottles like she’d been doing since she was in college and set one of them on the counter for Shiloh. Since she was kind of close to him, she looked over at Jiji and gently held her drink out for him to see if he wanted to sniff it. “Oh, it’s fine. She moved away, and I was kind of a mess in college, so I couldn’t have taken care of a puppy by myself. Jiji’s adorable though, and it’s kind of sweet that he was the one that picked you.” She remembered the Milk Duds again. “Oh, right, I mean, it’s kind of an acquired taste, but I like mixing them in with popcorn. It’s kind of a weird but good sweet and salty combination. You’re welcome to try it.”
Shiloh watched as Nadia offered Jiji a beer. She didn’t dare move, seeing Jiji move his head back as Nadia neared but seemed to let his curiosity get the best of him and he took a sniff, even giving the cool bottle a lick. “Look at this alcoholic,” Shiloh joked and continued pouring the popcorn into two bowls. She handed one to Nadia, exchanging it for the beer. “How long ago was this?” She asked, not sure how old Nadia was. Shiloh was bad with guessing ages. “It’s not really weird. Sweet and salty is really good. You might find mine kind of weird.” Shiloh chuckled as she reached into her pantry and grabbed a bottle of seasoning. “It’s seaweed and fish flakes and salty and really good. A friend of mine got me into it when I lived in Japan. You’re welcome to try it as well.”
Nadia laughed at Shiloh calling Jiji an alcoholic, trying to imagine the poor cat drunk. It seemed so silly. She popped a piece of popcorn in her mouth, trying to think about how long it had been since she and Brooke had talked about getting a dog. It was a couple of months into the start of the blackouts, rather infrequent at the time. Probably the beginning of junior year? Maybe the end of sophomore year. Then she had to actually remember how old she was. “Oh, about seven-ish years ago. Feels like it wasn’t that long ago, though.” She scrunched up her nose at the mention of fish. “Fish and I are not friends, but I’ll definitely take your word for it.” She shook a handful of Milk Duds out of the package and ate a few.
“Oh no, but it’s so good!” Shiloh didn’t know how someone could not like fish but she accepted it albeit a little sad. “Well, if you want to try it you can.” Shiloh said as she started to shake the seasoning onto the popcorn. Jiji seemed more interested and walked to the edge of the island trying to get close to her popcorn. “Hey,” she said and turned around. “This isn’t for you.” She looked over at Nadia, smiling. Jiji was going to make everyone find out that Shiloh feeds her cat people food and that’s why he’s so large. “I feed him and he still acts like he hasn’t eaten all day. Can you believe it?”
Nadia didn’t exactly want to admit that most of her hatred for fish stemmed from being bullheaded as a child, so she went for the safer option. “I have been personally victimized by creatures of the seafood variety. It’s gonna sound kind of dumb, but between being chased by giant lobsters and almost getting a concussion from falling fish, I don’t think I could eat anything fish related without feeling an unholy rage.” Not that Nadia even believed she was capable of such anger, but seafood also reminded her of her dad, who wanted it whenever they got the chance, even though that wasn’t often in hotter-and-drier-than-hell Arizona. She laughed at Shiloh and Jiji, though, enjoying their antics. “He’s incredible. I’d probably spoil him if he looked at me like that.”
Shiloh chuckled at Nadia’s reasoning but felt bad for doing so. “Oh god, if anything you should take great satisfaction that you’re eating the fish that have bothered you for so long!” At least, that’s how Shiloh kind of felt, but she didn’t want to say, a bit embarrassed by that. Still, she respected Nadia’s preference. She wouldn’t make her eat fish if she didn’t want to. It was just a slight bummer, since she enjoyed seafood. “Phew, I’m glad you understand. He’s so freaking cute - he looks at me and I can’t help but give him a bit of what I’m eating. It’s a real problem.” She said as she took a popcorn and gave it to him. Happy with his prize, Jiji took it and ran off the table. “But he gets his exercise. Goes outside. That should be good, right?” Shiloh said, laughing as she finished, knowing it wasn’t exactly best to have a cat go outside. “Anyway, we should probably watch the movie, yeah?” She began to walk over to her couch, popcorn and beer in hand.
As they watched the movie, Nadia let herself relax and enjoy herself. Shiloh was wonderful and kind and good with animals, and she was funny, and she’d invited a stranger to come watch a movie that she’d never seen just because it seemed interesting? Nadia tried not to talk during the movie (she’d always hated when people did that), but she definitely mouthed along with the words. When they finished, she helped Shiloh clean up, and, before she headed out, she stopped at the door. “Hey, I had, like, a really good time. We should do this again. Next time, my place? With a movie that you pick? You can even bring Jiji, if you’d like. I kind of adore him.” She tried not to come off as nervous as she felt. Since coming to White Crest (since realizing that life was too short to spend it hiding behind a book), she was trying so hard to make friends, and she liked Shiloh. She wanted them to hang out again.
The movie was great; Shiloh couldn’t believe she hadn’t seen it before. Definitely one of the top movies out there. She asked a few questions but hoped it wasn’t annoying. It was so cute to see Nadia recite the lines to the movie at times. She was thankful Nadia helped her clean even if it wasn’t a lot. Mainly Jiji asking for popcorn and then leaving pieces on the floor. He was a messy eater. Shiloh nodded and gave a smile. “Yeah for sure, sounds fun.” She looked down at the cat who appeared to be interested in moving between her legs before making a dash for the outside since the door was open. “I guess he wanted to get a head start.” She chuckled and looked back to Nadia, knowing he’ll come in time. “Have a good night.”
