I won't be able to finish this drawing before the convention, which will take up my next 5 days.. But I want to talk a little about him.. I've been thinking about golems and Frankenstein, and the trans body, projection and misunderstanding, villainization and death.
The concepts of Frankenstein's monster and the golem have been swimming in my head for a while, and their lore intertwining.. The tragedy of existing being seen as a monster no matter how you try,.. And the Golem, a protector of his people and a servant whose only flaw always rang a bit close to home as an an autistic person-- being too literal in execution of his orders. He's tired and struggles with a yearning for death. His havdalah candles will be out.. The first flame of the week, a spark of starting over again-- The flame brings him fear. As much as he's kept himself together he doesn't know how much longer he can keep doing it, he fears failure- but the fear of what may happen if he's gone is even more terrifying. He's lived a long life, and over time the one who formed him has sculpted him to the golem's own wishes.. From nothing to the man he is- but even with that effort, to outsiders he's still a monster. His skin is different shades of clays from varying riverbeds as his people have travelled.. Golems are unformed, imperfect.. but even as outsides can be polished the insides can still be broken

Yet another jewish privilege: Stores putting sales on holiday items because (apparently) management has no clue when "those people's" holidays are.
They put chanukah candles on sale for $0.71 a box the week before chanukah

The shopping cart was created by Jewish inventor Sylvan Goldman, born in 1898 to Jewish immigrants in Oklahoma. After serving in WWI, Sylvan opened a wholesale fruit and produce store with his brother Alfred. During a trip to California, the brothers observed the rise of a new concept in shopping: the supermarket, which introduced the convenience of having a variety of products all under one roof. Soon, they purchased several grocery stores and markets across Oklahoma, pioneering the supermarket concept in their home state. In 1934, Sylvan purchased the struggling Humpty-Dumpty grocery chain and noticed that customers were limited in their purchases by what could fit in a handheld basket. His idea was to combine a carriage with a wire basket, and so, in 1937, the shopping cart was born. The rest, as they say, is history. Sylvan revolutionized shopping, and today, on average, Americans use 15 million shopping carts each day.

I really want to go to the used bookstore near my work because when I went a couple years ago, I found a siddur at the bottom of a small Jewish book stack… but I’ve got 🎶thooouuusaands🎶 of dollars in medical debt, so probably not a wise financial decision to go.

It's really funny how antisemitic conspiracy works. Like there's a significant amount of people who think Jewish people are trying to oppress goyim by *checks notes* encouraging gender nonconformity and designing buildings to be ugly.

I'm thrilled to announce the latest addition to the shop – a collection inspired directly by one of you!
Recently, when one of you inquired about the powerful Hebrew saying "צדק צדק תרדוף" (Justice, Justice Shall You Pursue), it was like you were reading my mind.
Hebrew words, slang, and sayings were on my list for upcoming collections, and this request was the perfect catalyst.
👕 "צדק צדק תרדוף" – More Than Just Words
This collection is close to my heart, and I believe it resonates with many of you too. It's not just about the words; it's about what they represent – a timeless call for justice and fairness, a principle that guides us in our daily lives.
To celebrate this, I've created a range of items that embody this profound message.
🛍️ Designed for You, Inspired by You
Every piece in this collection is crafted with the intention of bringing these powerful words to life.
You can now wear this message as a symbol of your values, a conversation starter, or a personal reminder of the pursuit of justice.
✨ Shop the Collection Now
I invite you to explore this special collection, which you can view directly from today's story or by visiting my store at shop.hebrewbyinbal.com.
Each item is a testament to our shared values and a reflection of our vibrant community.

I’m visiting my girlfriend’s family in the UK this week and I was hoping to come to a Shabbat morning service at the local synagogue, but their rabbi is in Israel so it’s on Zoom. We’re not staying long enough to attend the week after :c
To add to a streak of mild annoyances, we wanted to go to London so I could grab some seforim, but train tickets are more expensive than we thought (siding scale pricing etc.) so it might actually be more economically sound to just order online and bear the enormous shipping costs

What I like a lot about judaism is... It can wait. It can wait. Especially on shabbos it's just... You can wait. Life can wait a bit.
And that's really nice in a world that moves at a breakneck speed, demands you move with or be left behind. I've always been left behind because it's hard to keep up, but I find that I can actually just... Let things happen when it comes to judaism. You think a people, a religion that's thousands of years old doesn't have time for you, or wouldn't be willing to wait for you? I doubt that you'll be left behind, truly.

Sorry if this sounds too 'ungrateful jew' of me but I honestly hate that everything I could ever want is closed on holidays like Easter. Like bro i have to go return something and I want to go feed myself but noooooo the Christians wrote some fanfic once and now I have to sit at home on a perfectly good Sunday

I've heard it through the grapevine there might be a Jewish group on campus, but it it's still running it's running so far under the radar that I've never seen a signal sign of it's existence
