As someone who is a HUGE fan of Jesus Christ Superstar (I own the movie and the recording and I've seen it live twice) that one interview where Con mentions Izzy being the Judas to Ed's Jesus (specifically the JCS versions) makes me BEYOND feral.

Heaven on Their Minds as sung by Izzy... just OOOOHG. Because YEAH! From Izzy's point of view, they're wasting time and resources. He's been Ed's right hand man all along. "If you strip away the myth from the man, you will see where we all soon will be." Because Ed is still a man. He still has a responsibility to keep them all alive

Stede as Mary also has such juicy implications. "I don't know how to love him." Someone from a different world, looking at a man so known, so beloved, and now knowing how to match who they are

"He's a man. He's just a man." Not the Kraken. Not Blackbeard. Just a man. Just Ed

Judas repeating the line later. "I don't know how to love him." As Izzy looking at Ed, knowing how to love only one side of him

Guys I can’t wait for Ed and Stede to meet in s2 because they are in such completely different mental states right now which means that the world they’re experiencing is entirely different.

Like, Stede is experiencing his first love and as with everything he goes all in as soon as he’s figured out his feelings, so he’s writing the most earnest, sincere love letters and laying awake at night fantasizing about their love. His entire world is tinted by his love (see: his red accessories symbolizing the heart).

But then Ed is not experiencing his first love but the worst heartbreak of his life. In the world he’s living in, Stede has made him fall in love and then gotten bored and cast him aside. He’s left Ed, and Ed can’t go back to how he was before Stede, and he can’t just turn off his feelings the way he believes Stede did and so he’s just unbelievably miserable. His entire world is tinted by this heartbreak, which is why he’s going around separating couples left and right (both the couples on the revenge crew and breaking up weddings) so that no one else can be happy in love either.

And just - they both believe so strongly in their own perception of the world and I can’t wait to see those worlds shatter when they meet!!! (Also it will probably kill me dead)
