tbh one of my favourite things to think abt is lwj completely not caring abt his physical appearance anymore while he’s in his grieving period. like the whole getting drunk and hurting himself with the wen brand is one thing, but also his hair being in a constant mess and always tangled, there’s stubble growing across his chin and jawline and he doesn’t gaf, his robes dirtied and with stains and he doesn’t care to change them, doesn’t care to shower or even just wash his face.

And the reason why I love it so much (besides grieving being an absolute beast of a thing to deal with and its consequences being so severe) is because it falls in line with lwj’s rebellion. What use is it to present as pristine and perfect when faced with loss and injustice and heartbreak, what use is to uphold any Lan image when those same Lan rules withheld him long enough from standing by wwx’s side when it mattered.

And anyway, I just think it’s interesting and it also makes me think of wwx coming back to life and constantly being worried of dirtying lwj’s robes. Meanwhile, it’s in the dirtying of those robes that lwj was able to find himself through the grief

Honestly, it’s sad to think about how Miguel was once really close to all the Spider People. He probably had his own easy going and goofy personality, because how else would he get so many of them to join the Spider Society? But then his tragedies happened and he found out what they had to sacrifice, what they had to do. This cool club that they had for fun and to help people turned into a harsh and strict system. You can tell by the interactions Miguel has with everyone that they miss who he used to be.
