Thoughts on Jess Chambers? (earth -11 or future state) More specifically What do you like about their character and if you could change 2 things what would it be? and related but on the side Thoughts of Jess Chambers (future state) x Andy (Future state)?

OH I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ON JESS THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!!

I love Jess as a character. I think my main complaint would be that DC only uses them during Pride month or in their 'queer branded' stuff. Which is.. Not Great. Jess should be in other stuff too.

So yeah if i could change two things it'd be

A) I would give Jess an ongoing series where they (devastated by what happened to their universe) vow to protect the multiverse and join the Justice Incarnate team. Irey West from E-22 is already on the team, as is Avery Ho from the main universe. Barry was an unofficial member for a while and they used him as a multiversal scout. It'd be cool to have that responsibility shift to a team of speedsters: Jess, Avery and Irey. It'd be super cool to see Jess lead this team and watch them all go on wacky multiversal adventures together.

And

B) I would make DC explain, in great detail, Jess' family tree. I have painstakingly created a super detailed family tree for the Flash family and during the creation of said family tree I have come to the realization that Jess is Ace's alt universe sibling. Kinda. Jess is a variant of Ace canonically. So if Jess is a West then I am dying to know where the Chambers name came from. It isn't just symbolic because Jess' great uncle and aunt are Chambers as well. So did Jess inherit the name from their other parent? Because if that's the case then Ace is also a Chambers. That means that Ace's unnamed mom is a Chambers and the cousin of Jesse Chambers. And that's insane.

So yeah, Jess is canonically both a West and a Chambers and I need to know how that works???

And now onto thoughts about Andy and Jess.

I think they're cute! I'm a little bit iffy about the stability of the relationship in DC canon because Jess dates main universe Andy and main universe Andy is a toddler right now.

I don't think DC is going to pull a Jon Kent on Andy and age her up to 20 any time soon. So Jess is in a weird place where they are showing up in things but all the things they are showing up in have to be dreams, far off in the future or in another universe with a nameless era.

DC wants to make their cake and eat it too. They want cute baby Andy and they also want to showcase Andy and Jess' relationship. Which is a bit odd. I mean, if they really want to do both then just have Andy and Jess pull a Bart. It's not hard, speedsters time travel all the time. Just say that they're trying to stop the destruction of their universe.

(oh, just a note to clarify: Future State Jess and Earth-11 Jess are the same character. Earth-11 is gone by the time Jess is an adult and Jess is the only survivor. That's why Jess joins the future main universe version of the Justice League in Future State. Cause they needed a team to stop the thing that took out their universe. They did that before the events of Future State and stuck around afterwards. Probably because of Andy)

It's jarring and funny and sad to see the entire Flash family patiently waiting around and walking places and doing scouting trips for intel during One Minute War.

Because, yeah, this is their normal speed. This is their normal behavior. We just aren't used to seeing it from their perspective.

They are calm and patient. They do think things through and make plans. People just can't see it because they're judging them based on the norm.

"Bart can't sit still for five minutes because he has a short attention span" no, it's more like "Five minutes is five hours to Bart and most people can't sit without moving for that long"
