Juliette tied her bird at the gates of Ala Gannha and squinted against the sun, lowering the brim of her straw hat to shield herself from its relentless heat. Her wagon was dug in place, her wares set out atop the cleanest blankets she could drape after shaking out the errant dirt. Jars of herbs, basic medical supply, sturdy tools and other sundries took up the greater part of the display, followed by more impractical knick-knacks. Jewelry caught the sun, pieces in coral, some strung with iridescent seashells; a small statue of Rhalgr cast in bronze stood proudly, and an assortment of bizarre antiquities with no clear rhyme or reason.

The hours slogged and the sweat rolled down her face in relentless lines. She kept a smile up for each that came and went, inquiring with potential customers about the Saltzer family until she was ready to give up as the sun hung heavy in the western sky. Her cart was a little lighter for the afternoon, and she was more than ready to pack up and make camp for the evening for some well-deserved rest. A rough-looking man hung nearby just long enough that she was ready to grab her pistol when he finally stepped forward and nodded down to her. “Miss.”

“Ah, I’m sorry, sir, I was just packing up for the night. If you come back in the morn...”

“Not here to buy anything. Heard you talking about Saltzer. What’s your business with them?”

“Ah! Yes, I was! Can you tell me anything about them? Are they in Ala Mhigo? I’ve got a whole bundle of postcards that were meant for Jonas’ mother, but they had trouble finding her.”

“Not sure about her, but the Saltzer boy helped my own family. I owe him a debt. It ain’t much, but if you see him, I’d...be real grateful if you could pass along my thanks. From the Blackwater family. Jerrich Blackwater.”

She nodded and quickly fished up a pencil and a scrap of paper, jotting the name down and tucking it safely into her ledger. “Jerrich Blackwater. I’ll be sure to let him know if I see him. It’s his mother I’ve been trying to find.”

Being Gay is not a sin ............ 

That's why I started this campaign to help my baby brother. To protect him from the mistakes I once made and prevent him from doing crazy things. My brothers name is Jeremy, he's 19 years old and is still living in Suriname. Unfortunately, our dad and his mom found out that he also is gay and kicked him out too. Especially when they found out that he has the hots for slighty older men. His best friend, whom he trusted betrayed him. We haven't seen each other for more than 15 years and despite the fact that is was not allowed, we were able keep in touch secretly for the last 5 years through email and phone calls. Jeremy now lives alternately with family and friends because being gay is not yet fully accepted in Suriname. When this hapenend to me 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to get to the Netherlands with the help of my family from mother's side . Despite the fact that I could not finish my education and had to get a job, I am very gratefull for the given oppotunity. I want to be the one to give him this well deserved second chance, because I'm the only one he still has. But most importtantly I want to get him to Holland to protect him and keep him save. Jeremy talks about suicide because his to ashamed of everything that has hapened. With the help of friends I was able to gather some money for his ticket and visa but we stil need a lot more. Thats because i don't have a job right now but i am doing my utter best to get one a.s.a.p. We are wating for his visa to get approved and as soon as that's done he'll be on the next flight to Amsterdam. The purpose of the money is to pay back my friends, a wanted guarantee by the goverment  because he's not a Dutch Citizen, the necessary insurance and hopefully a education. But i also want to get him some medical (psychologocal) Help. In the near future we might need to look for a new/bigger place to stay because i'm renting a studio. But thats the last thing to worry about, becuase my first priority is to get to to Amsterdam a.s.a.p en to keep him save.
