Does Jerich let Amber watch scary movies or just ones that aren't as extreme?
He doesn't allow her to watch any that go beyond pg13. But mostly ones like Goosebumps, Corpse Bride, Coraline, Hocus Pocus, ones that he doesn't really have to supervise for her to watch

oh my god, I have many thoughts on Virgil being cruel to Jericho.
not even theory bcs it was basically confirmed in eom 31, how pazuzu was so insanely intertwined within Virgil's existence. it makes sense to me him being made with the essence of pazuzu and all.
I imagine in those unknown years between bdw and eom that the "essence" of pazuzu got more potent/stronger hence the existence of a third entity.
Largely that essence was what was being so cruel to Jericho rather than zurn's part. In my opinion, they have very different ways of being cruel towards people. I'd say zurn has a 'mightier than thou' thing going on, basically making you feel stupid for opposing him because what he's doing is for the "greater good" no matter who it's hurting in the process.
Meanwhile Pazuzu is very overtly cruel, making you feel isolated and like you have no one else to turn to (how else would he get people to say his name thrice), also see; the visions he gave the BDW party in their first collective vision of him. He presents them with a vision of a disastrous future and tells them the only way to get out of it is to say his name thrice.
also as Virgil gets more lucid and has more opportunities have sentience within Jericho the first few times it definitely feels more threatening than later on where he feels more neutral.
Yeah it def explains a lot!
I'm not fully set on my interpretation of current virgil, current as in post metamorphosis. The sample size is just two small I can't make a fair judgement based on ONE episode (eom come back) but I agree that the types of cruelty do differ.
Virgil has this high and mighty "greater good" "12 steps" ahead thing about him which opposes the chaos of pazuzu BUT just for funsies i want to think that virgil did let go of at least a portion of his personality as a human. I want to think the sudden lack of weight of the apocalypse and his part in it made him slightly more like pazuzu. Maybe a bit more chaotic, more prone to being cruel in the way pazuzu is cruel. It's hard to tell the difference between cruelty coming from words and cruelty coming from demonic powers which might have been, or might not have been controlled by virgil. Especially since 99% of what virgil is saying is told to us by jericho. A hundred years spent with a portion of a demon like that, a hundred years of raum... that messes with your head i bet.
Comparing the way he talks in bdw and eom, eom virgil IS less serious. A bit more uhhhh sassy i guess? And I think parts of it happened organically, through the time virgil spent as a crow demon, through the sheer experience of it, not just because of the fragment of pazuzu within him.
It's so hard to judge virgil's personality without a venn diagram of virgil, raum and pazuzu which ive been asking for for months now. But that's a good thing! That's what I fucking love! I have now consumed all bits and pieces of virgil that exist and still i have many questions, I have no idea how things will go from now on. This is the first time we're seeing virgil without pazuzu by his side and oh i'm so curious.
Then again, when I started bdw I thought I'd see virgil BEFORE he became associated with pazuzu but no. He spent most of his life with a demon on his side, pazuzu said that virgil "lost his humanity a long time ago" and while that makes me want to punch that bird fuck into the abyss, he's kinda right in a way. With virgil's life overshadowed by such a demon, is there even a true virgil to speak of or is there just an existentially dreadful mix of human and demon and whatever else there might be. You might even say virgils life was.....beneath dark wings WHAAAAAAT WHO SAID THAT WHO SAID THAT!!!!
I do absolutely agree that virgil does feel more neutral now, more like the virgil zurn the man we got to know in bdw, and it's not just because of the lack of contrast between him and the party who only viewed him as a threat before, now a possible ally (which imo will come at the cost of jericho being sad i hope he fucking snaps soon). I'm super excited for whatever comes next in eom and i really hope it comes back this year cause i already feel the effects of virgil withdrawal.
I'm ending this long ass post with saying i adore virgil, man or crow or demon and i fucking hope mikey's aware of how fucking cool virgil is. I'm sure he is but gherix knows i'd love to grab him by the shoulders, shake him a bit and say HEY I HOPE YOU KNOW VIRGIL'S AWESOME AND BDW IS AWESOME. Thank you so much for the ask this was so much fun and i hope not so awful to read cause i am slightly feverish <3

The So Called Rub of Jericho
Tumblr media
I wasn’t always a full time AEW viewer, in fact I began watching regularly in the summer of 2022. What attracted me was Eddie Kingston.
Tumblr media
Eddie had the physique of a plumber, the gear of an indie guy who forgot his main attire at home so he scrapped together what he could find, and the speech of an angry New Yorker who spent the days yelling at kids on his stoop. That is what makes him so appealing. At the time, Kingston was feuding with Chris Jericho and his faction The Jericho Appreciation society. This faction had some of the guys from the previous Jericho stable, The Inner Circle, with some new additions in 2.0 and Daniel Garcia. The gimmick: Sports Entertainers who hated wrestling. If it sounds like an obnoxious WWE parody, then you’re right it was. You got the joke immediately and did not have room for expansion, they were guys who dressed in goofy matching outfits and “entertained” that’s really it. Kingston would get back up from the Blackpool Combat Club and LAX (Santana and Ortiz). They would do Anarchy in the Arena and Blood n Guts. The feud had strong moments with Kingston walking down the ramp during AitA, blood on his face, a cold dead stare, and a canister of gasoline and Kingston and Co. winning the BnG match.
Tumblr media
However it would have the stankest, wettest fart of an ending where Jericho and Kingston would have an abysmal barb wire match that saw Jericho winning with botches a plenty. Kingston would go on to get in a backstage altercation with Sammy Guevara who provoked him. He was in the wrong to get physical with someone who is an aggravating little turd, and he would tell you that himself. A suspension would follow and Kingston gave a half sincere apology on the short lived AEW reality tv show to which I do not care enough to look up the name.
This is what feuding with Jericho does to an M. F.
Kingston is not the only victim I saw fall to Jericho, Daniel Garcia is another name that comes to mind. Garcia was the young blood of the JAS. Originally under the tutelage of 2.0 and then absorbed into the JAS. He’s a gifted technical wrestler, but was a SANADA type, who did not really have any personality but was good at the graps. The goal, at least what we the viewers assumed was the goal, was to make Garcia a new bright star. He became the center of the JAS vs BCC feud, with Danielson wanting him to join their stable as he saw the potential in him. Garcia would get a clean win over Dragon and even went after the ROH Pure Title. The Dynamite where he challenged for the belt saw him get a special entrance coming out to DR BIRDS by Westside Gunn (the Jack Nicholson of Wrestling [thanks Olly!]).
youtube
This was in his hometown, and he got the victory, this should’ve been his star making moment. Until the swerve happened. What we thought was going to be him breaking away from Jericho he would continue to be his underling, he lost the belt back to Wheeler Yuta, his momentum came to a screeching halt, but hey at least he dances funny now! Garcia has been mostly another guy with a dumb gimmick that makes him meme worthy. This misusage can be pointed at Jericho, but Tony Khan is equally as guilty.
Jericho would also go on to win the ROH World Title. Weirdly, he would have straightforward clean wins over previous ROH champions/regulars and one Tomohiro Ishii. Among these matches Jericho would have another worst match of the year contender with Colt Cabana. One that is meant for the boys.
Tumblr media
A rib directed to a extremely disgruntled CM Punk. To be fair, Cabana was wearing the wrong socks which messed up his flow (be patient he’s only been wrestling for a few measly decades) but for Jericho what was his excuse? Jericho would get a “win” over Danielson, Castagnoli, and Guevara at Full Gear (140,000 buys) but then unceremoniously lose it at ROH Final Battle (25,400 buys hm wonder why he would drop it on such a low buyrate) to the guy he beat for it rather than put over someone new. Going by Cagematch Jericho would only lose 4 singles matches. Sure you want to keep someone like Jericho strong, especially since he's a former world champion. However, that number is insanely protective of a 53 year old guy who’s at the tail end of his career.
Jericho would try to make up for this, spending 2023 losing more than winning. It was not great.
Right after losing the ROH belt, Jericho would put over an unknown Action Andretti in a shocking upset.
Tumblr media
Action Andretti in 2023 is 10-16 and most of his matches are in ROH. Ricky Starks would have an amazing showing in his world title match, and to follow that up he would have to do his time with Jericho. He would beat Jericho on his first encounter and then go on to beat him once again at Revolution. It felt like a waste of time, the matches were not spectacular, Ricky was going downhill and thankfully Collision would save his heat, but there’s strong rumors regarding his departure for the WWE.
His next victim was Adam Cole, and Keith Lee who already struggles to get on booked on TV had to lay down for Jericho to sell this program. Jericho would team up with (read: try to get in on Saraya’s heel turn heat) The Outcasts to beat up Britt Baker to give Cole some character motivation.
Tumblr media
The segment where The Outcasts and JAS hate-crimed Baker and Cole was strange to me, because the JAS have two female wrestlers in their ranks. It is as if Jericho simply forgot about them. To give Cole and Jericho’s matchup more juice, TK brought in Sabu and the match was made an unsanctioned match (but was aired on PPV?). The match was bad, and the feud forgotten. Luckily for Cole, he is so over that he moved onto to have one of the best programs with MJF.
Following this Jericho would face off against Sting for a mini feud, but the Jericho Rub could not harm Sting because he is Sting. Simple As.
Enter Don Callis. He betrayed Kenny Omega during the BCC vs Elite Feud and replaced him with Takeshita as the wrestler he would be the personal manager to. He became the most hated heel in the company and having personally sat in the crowd where he had his first town hall as a heel, I can confirm the boos were deafening. Callis would then reach out to Jericho to join the Don Callis Family faction and Jericho was going to join. Jericho would team up with Takeshita and cheat to beat Guevara and Garcia. This would lead to the break up of the JAS, where all members sans Jericho and Guevara would continue to team with each other almost like they just became the *AS.
youtube
Then Callis saw his cronies give a beat down on Jericho, which I must applaud Jericho’s ability to find himself working with the most over acts in the company, he always finds a way to involve himself. Hell he even pitched a program with a returning CM Punk which I no do not doubt would have been the worst wrestling match ever put on American broadcasting! Jericho is a shark and if there’s blood in the water he will find it. Jericho joined the Elite vs Callis feud, and even faced a Will Ospreay at All In. The build to this match was baffling. Ospreay is practically a heelish face in NJPW. He was the face in the match against Kenny at Wrestle Kingdom, and mostly works face. However he’s heel in AEW. Sure he worked heel vs Kenny at Forbidden Door since Canada, but the build to All In saw him be a heel. Then at All In he’s a face since London! What is going on! Jericho just turned face! Now he’s doing heel tactics and even said at the aftermath Dynamite he should have cheated??? Who wrote this?? At least Ospreay went back to NJPW and is finishing up his run there.
Jericho and Sammy would have tension teasing some kind of split. Now before I go any further, I must preface: I do not like Sammy Guevara. He is an overused, overexposed, mishandled and misbooked worker who represents zero IQ wrestling psychology. He’s a terrible promo and has terrible character work. He has attempted to turn face only to go back to heel because when he tries cutting a face promo and you can hear the simultaneous clicks of remote buttons to change it to Family Feud.
Tumblr media
Having said that, even I thought it was egregious for Jericho to beat Sammy. How does one man spend all year losing draw the line at his understudy? Guevara suffered a concussion during this Jericho and Kenny vs Don Callis, and is out on paternity leave. Who knows when Jericho will do him right, perhaps never.
Jericho and Kenny have been teaming, they beat the Young Bucks for their Title Contendership and are now facing Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the Tag Team Championship. Starks and Bill have been giving beatdowns to Kenny and Jericho to build for the match. They even had the worst, and I mean this with all my heart, the worst in ring promo battle I have ever seen. Awful jokes, no selling insults, and doubling down on lines that did not land with the crowd. The look on Kenny’s face screams that he is checked out.
Tumblr media
However, as of writing this, Kenny is now out on injury for an indefinite amount of time. Jericho is now lost in the wind and I imagine both Starks and Bill are relieved.
Jericho has proven this past year to not be any benefit to anyone he works with. He finds out who is the most over and tries to get in on their overness despite it making sense. All of his programs seem slapped together, as if Tony allows him to plan out his angles without any pushing back. I imagine he pitches these to guys who may want to have the opportunity to work with someone with decades of experience, but they do not see through him as a clout vampire. The goal of Jericho is how can I keep myself on TV, he has DEMO GOD plastered on himself for crying out loud!
Tumblr media
His character is supposed to be an aging rockstar who desperately clinging on for dear life, but it does not help when that is just who he is in real life. With Kenny out, what is next for Jericho? Hopefully retirement.

Ah crap how did this get here how do I delete pictures.

Homenaje a Dos Leyendas preview
Tumblr media
This is CMLL's annual show paying tribute to two legends of lucha libre. Every edition of the show homages Salvador Lutteroth (who founded the promotion in 1933), and the other spot features a different legend ever year--in this case, Tony Salazar.
The main attraction tonight is the arrival of several big names from AEW. CMLL is very particular about who they work with--they can afford to be, because they literally own Arena Mexico, which gives them the leverage to run their business exactly the way they want. So as much as wrestlers dream of wrestling in Madison Square Garden or the Tokyo Dome, Arena Mexico right up there on the bucket list.
To my knowledge, the only legal way to watch this show live outside of Mexico is on CMLL's official Youtube channel, when you join the "Fan Leyenda" tier for $34.99 USD per month. I haven't heard if there'll be English commentary, and I wouldn't hold my breath expecting any. The show kicks off at 10:30pm Eastern time, so plan on staying up past your bedtime.
Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli & Matt Sydal vs. Mistico & Volador Jr. & Blue Panther & Ultimo Guerrero - As is traditional in lucha libre, this match is scheduled for the best two out of three falls. Originally this was supposed to be all four members of AEW's Blackpool Combat Club coming in to fight four luchadors. But Wheeler Yuta still isn't medically cleared to compete, so Sydal is coming in as a last-minute replacement.
The BCC has had it out for CMLL in general since January 31, when a group of luchadors (including Mistico and Volador) attended an AEW show at ringside. Moxley flipped them off, and they ran in to clobber him. Since then we've seen a number of AEW vs. CMLL matches on AEW television, mostly involving Moxley, Danielson, and Castagnoli. (Sydal has been doing jobs for the CMLL guys, which probably has a lot to do with why he was chosen as Yuta's alternate.) Now the BCC has come to Mexico to take the fight to enemy territory.
The CMLL side is about as loaded as they can get it. Mistico is such a big deal in Mexico that WWE signed him in 2011, and although his run as the first Sin Cara was a misfire, he was able to come back and pick up where he left off. Panther, 63, and Guerrero, 52, may seem too old to be headlining, but Danielson has been waiting for a chance to work with Panther, as has Castagnoli with Ultimo. Volador, in comparison, feels like "just a guy" here, and I assume his role is to carry a lot of the match to compensate for Panther and Ultimo, and possibly to lose a fall.
My gut feeling is that CMLL will want the BCC to lose here, to make up for all the times that the BCC went over CMLL guys in the past couple of months. Clearly Sydal is here to make it easy for the AEW team to do the job while protecting Moxley, Danielson, and Castagnoli. The big question coming out of this match is whether this is a one-off, or if AEW talent will keep coming in. If the AEW side wins, I think that will tell us that more is planned for the future. But even if there are plans, CMLL's side could win and they could just set up an angle post-match.
Atlantis Jr. & Soberano Jr. vs. Mascara Dorada & Rocky Romero - This is the final in CMLL's annual Torneo Nacional de Parejas Increíbles, where technicos (babyfaces) and rudos (heels) are forced to team up. The concept should be painfully familiar to AEW fans who enjoyed the unlikely duo of Adam Cole and MJF in a similar tournament last year. I have no idea what the stakes are for this tournament; in the US you'd need to offer a tag title shot to get the heels and faces to put aside their differences, but for all I know in CMLL they're just doing it for the sake of competition and tradition.
Outside of Mexico, Dorada is mainly known for his runs in WWE, AEW, and ROH as Gran Metalik, though of late he's returned to the Mascara Dorada name. Atlantis recently lost to Chris Jerich on AEW television. Atlantis and Soberano were teammates in New Japan's 2023 World Tag League tournament, which didn't go well for either of them. Soberano and Romero are in a heel faction together; I read that Soberano recenly asked Rocky to help him become a US citizen, which is pretty damn heelish for Mexico. Behind the scenes, Rocky has been a key player in smoothing out relations between New Japan, AEW, and CMLL.
I'm not sure what to expect here. Seeing a US promotion do a parejas increibles match probably can't prepare you for the real thing in Mexico, and the ones I've watched in AAA were such chaotic brawls that it didn't make much difference who was on what side. I guess this could go either way.
Willow Nightingale & Tessa Blanchard & La Catalina vs. Stephanie Vaquer & Zeuxis & Lluvia - This will be determined by the best two out of three falls. Willow is the big name coming in from AEW. Blanchard seems to have burned her bridges all over the US, so if you've been wondering whatever happened to her, she's in CMLL. Catalina is from Chile, which is interesting since I've heard there's a pro wrestling scene over there but I haven't seen much from it.
Vaquer is the CMLL women's world champion, and recently she captured the STRONG women's title from Guilia, who won it from Willow. She and Zeuxis are the CMLL women's tag champions. I didn't come up with any info on Lluiva, but I think she's the only technico in the match. Maybe she and Willow will bond over being true-blue good guys, but I doubt it. I'd personally book Willow to pin Vaquer to set up a championship match, but CMLL may not be ready to commit to that.
Pierrothito vs. Pequeno Olimpico vs. Acero vs. Angelito - This is a four-way match where the loser will be compelled to unmask and reveal his true identity to the public. I'm unclear on the rules here. I suppose it could be like a four-way in the US, where there's only one fall to a finish. But if may be a deal where each man eliminates himself from the match by scoring a fall, and the last man left is the loser.
I've seen this billed as a minis match, but as far as I can tell all the participants are at least five feet tall, so I think Mexico just kinda stretches the definition of "minis." I don't have any info on these wrestlers, but it's always a big deal when a luchador loses his mask, so that alone should make it entertaining.
El Barbaro Cavernario vs. Averno - Averno is challenging for the CMLL world light heavyweight title. Barbaro has a caveman gimmick, which is such an awesome idea and I can't believe he and Caveman UGG are the only ones in the world smart enough to do this.
Cavernario and Averno are both rudos in rudo factions, but their factions have been feuding nonetheless. I assume Los Barbaros and Los Infernales will do run-ins and shit. I have no idea if they'll do a title change, but I'm pulling for Captain Caveman.
Esfinge vs. Zandokan Jr. - Esfinge is defending the Mexican national light heavyweight championship. So, okay--CMLL has multiple sets of title belts. There's the CMLL world and regional titles, the "world historic" titles (based on the lineage of NWA belts that CMLL used to feature), and the national titles. The national championships are technically sanctioned by the Mexican athletic commission, but as I understand it the commission lets CMLL control them.
AEW fans will remember Esfinge from the February 10 episode of Collision, when he and Star Jr. lost to Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli. New Japan fans will remember Zandokan from the 2023 World Tag League tournament, when he came in to team with Yota Tsuji. None of that gives me any sense of how this match will go, but I like Zandokan so I guess I'm rooting for him.
Magnus & Rugido vs. Brillante Jr. & Neon - This is for the Mexican national tag team title; Magnus and Rugido are the defending champions. TheCubsFan says this will likely be a pre-show match on Facebook, but if that's the case I don't think I'll bother trying to make sure I see it. The champs both appeared on the March 1 episode of Rampage, where Magnus qualified to appear in the scramble match on the Revolution pay-per-view. I have no idea who wins, but I suppose I'll punt and pick the champs to retain.

Here is some fucking ancient (2008) art of The Prince's Fighters.
The two Great Wizards, Derrek Rowan and Aemillian Solirius; Khanaarre sitting alone; Prince Elana flanked by her two knights, Rennin Osh and Orland Borgon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since 08, I have changed almost all these character designs.
For whatever reason, I don't seem to have any pictures of the fifth party member, Shan Khul Master Veralar Tann, from this period.
Sharp-eyed readers might see the name "Jerich a'Solar" under the drawing of Aemillian. That's because the Usurper's name has changed three times, now, across drafts.
The prefix a' in front of the House name Solar indicated its rank as a Great House in Vencar. Lesser Noble Houses were prefixed nai' and common Houses had no prefix. Some large Houses had branches at every level of rank. But that got too baroque very quickly, so that went away.
Then I decided to Hellenize or Latinize most of the Vencari names.

Walking with God–Joshua 2
The meeting has a meaning like two men meeting Rahab in Jerich in Joshua 2. The dramatic moment when Rahab and the two men implicate God’s deliverance. The reason God sent them to Rahab is that she is a remnant who acknowledges God delivered the Israelites from Egypt in Jericho city, which was destroyed due to their abomination before the LORD. The remnants who are accepted through faith in…
