"When this all happened," Jellylorum began. "Demeter, Bomba and the rest of the adults were only new born kits, while me and Raz were only a year away from having our first Jellicle Ball..."

Jellylorum grinned and crouched down, spotting a mouse sniffing in the junkyard. Just as she pounced, a heavy weight dropped on top of her. She glanced up to see a ginger tabby cat grinning down on her.

"Jenny! Gus might be here any minute!" Jelly moaned, quickly scampering up and sorting out her head fur, while Jenny made a face.

"I don't get your obsession with Gus, Jelly. He's much too old to mate with you,"

Jelly stuck her tongue out at her.

"I’m not in love with him Jenny! But I would love to see the theatre! It’s all red and gold and wooden! Anyway, you're the one who thought it would be a good idea to mate with a railway tom!"

"Hey!" Jenny pouted. "Skimble's the best. And I've seen the way Gus’ son looks at you. Asparagus his name is, named after his father. Head over heels I tell you,"

Jelly glanced over to where the brown and white tom was lying peacefully. She noticed that as soon as she looked over, his eyes quickly darted away. She smiled slightly at that.

"WAIT PAPA LOVED YOU WHILE YOU DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHO HE WAS?!" Yelled Pouncival, cutting off his parents.

"Pounce, don't shout," Jellylorum reprimanded, tapping him gently on the shoulder.

“Indeed. I’m that forgettable,“ Asparagus joked.

Jellylorum rolled her eyes at her mate, causing him to grin.

"But you know,” Asparagus continued. “I didn't even know her name. But things were never gonna be the same..."

Jenny bit her lip worriedly. She was scared. She knew her sister was planning. She didn't know what it was, and she wasn't even sure if she wanted to know what it was.

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't hear the ginger tom creeping up behind her.

"BOO!" He yelled, jumping from behind her. Jenny let out a loud scream, staring at the tom.

"SKIMBLE!" She yelled at the tom who had now collapsed into fits of laughter.

"Your face Jenny!" He wheezed, his Scottish accent coming through.

She pouted and folded her arms.

"Skimbleeeeeeeeee," she whined.

Skimbleshanks eventually sobered up and sat next to Jenny, putting his arm around her waist and pulling her onto his lap.

"You're still my bonnie lass Jenny," he said.

Jenny smiled, running her paws through his head fur.

"I love you Skimble,"

"I love you Jenny,"

"Always?"

"Always,"

A light blushed snuck onto Asparagus' cheeks as he crept back to the den he shared with his father. As he walked in through the entrance, Gus glanced up at his son and patted the space next to him. Asparagus smiled and curled up next to his father.

"So," Gus said, after a few minutes of warm, comfortable silence. "Who is she?" He said, with a grin on his handsome face.

Asparagus went red and looked up at him. "H-How d-do you kn-know?"

Gus chucked and lightly rubbed Asparagus' head.

"I know the look of a tom freshly in love. Now answer my question. Which one is it? Ziosette? Or maybe Jenny? Although I hear she's after that Skimble boy,"

Asparagus bit his lip and shook his head.

"I-I don't actually know," he mumbled. "I-I've seen her around. She's white, w-with splashes of golden yellow and shiny b-brown. A-And her eyes Papa! Y-You should see her eyes! They're th-this lovely deep green c-colour. And her voice! Sh-She has the voice of an angel Papa!"

Gus listened to his son rambled on about every detail about this queen. How elegant she was when she danced, how her smile could soften even the hardest of hearts, how hearing her laugh brightened his day.

After a while, Asparagus fell to a close.

"I love her Papa. I really do. I get a funny feeling when she walks into the room,"
