Hey everyone, to make up for my lack of selfshiptober content despite saying I'd do it this year (I tried, I really did) I decided to release the first part of my fanfic The First Date. It's a short tale about a trip to a café that turns bizarre! I hope to someday have the time to write more in-depth adventures with these three, but I think this is a good start.

Huckleberry Hound — Avenger I

He moves in the shadows, darkness being his only companion in his path towards the light. His heroic spirit, tempered and matured through many trials, shines through even the blackest of skies. Celestial Warrior, Avenger I, descends upon the battlefield.

The town of Jellystone has driven many a mayor to an asylum. Yet Huckleberry has held the chair for a whopping three terms, with talks of a fourth looming on the horizon. At first glance, it’s easy to see why he’s popular. Coolheaded, unflappable, and possessing the classic laidback Southern charm, he’s seen as a beacon of normalcy in a town where get-rich-quick schemes and other shenanigans run rampant. Aside from a side note about him hailing from North Carolina, however, not much is known about his personal life, mostly because not many get too close. To many in town, although he is a well known public figure, he is often seen as a mysterious, steely-eyed and silent-type stranger.

And if one were to ask Huckleberry Hound, he’d be happy to hear it, because he���d prefer it if things stayed that way.

By day, he’s the untouchable, coolheaded mayor of Jellystone. By night, he is the fearsome and devastating Avenger. He appears to be a regular hound, but in reality, he is a Celestial, ethereal beings of mysterious origins with powers that have been sought after by many, and attained by few. As the name implies, Celestials are not of this Earth, but are born in the deepest parts of the galaxy. As one of the pure Celestials, he can summoned like a creature of myth, often called upon by those who have been grieved and betrayed. Huckleberry is a member of the Warrior class, and while many other Celestials surpass him in both power and combat prowess, he is not to be underestimated. As his name implies, he takes swift vengeance on wrongdoers, often in precise, yet brutal ways—and even if he loses a battle, he will give his opponent his all in combat, commanding their respect.

His umbrakinesis and his dark armor contrast heavily against his personality, which has led to several people, even his fellow Celestials, to believe that he is evil. He attacks his targets with soldier-like precision and dedication, with the goal of protecting the town he now calls home from any and all threats. This reflects his inner desire to serve, and as such, he will not raise his sword against anybody under false pretenses or without justification. He wants no praise for his actions, instead only wishing that the people who summon him are at least put at peace. As such, when his assignment is complete, his powers will lull those who summon him into deep sleep. Those who speak of Avenger afterwards can only describe his armor and demeanor—how his kindness contrasted heavily against his armor. He has an important Astral Skill, which allows him to both heal others and release their souls. In accordance with his powers, however, he will only do so if it’s the deceased’s will that they return or leave.

This was supposed to happen to Droop-a-Long Coyote, who sought immediate justice for the murder of his sister Betty, and inadvertently summoned him. One could imagine Huckleberry’s surprise when the coyote, who worked at the town hall as an intern, immediately came to him and thanked him for what he did for his little sister.

Huckleberry was so stunned that he could only utter one word:

I started Avenger after I finished the line art for Bugs, but didn’t get around to finishing him. However, I got it done over the weekend and I absolutely LOVE how he turned out! Those fabric markers did come in handy!

You knew I had to doodle Huck again before I do the others, LOL XD. And I will do a proper profile for Droopy and the others soon. But yeah, look at him and how cool he turned out!

Next one will hopefully be Reaper. I have an idea for how to design him at long last, and I have had a hankering to draw Ricochet again, so you can expect him soon!

Yogi Bear fanfic prompt/headcannon

In his never-ending quest for the old "tourist-type goodies," Yogi spies a metal tin of European-type sweet biscuits on a tree stump not far from a Jellystone Park picnic area ... only it emerges that the park's ranger staff booby-trapped it so that, on opening the same, Yogi winds up getting an explosion in the face and powder burns on same.

Which, inevitably, arouses Ranger Smith's ire (he being in close wait near where the biscuit tin was situated), forcing Yogi to run for it with Ranger Smith not far behind, attempting to chew out Yogi for being in all-too-close range to tourist picnic and camping areas until Ranger Smith trips on a tree root and goes faceplant.

This is probably one of the 1st fanfics I've ever read since I've gained interest in 101 Dalmatian Street, my dedicated pups! Boy, how this fic has aged well among the fandom!⬆⬆⬆

I highly recommend you read one of @mandareeboo's works "TFW ur Problem-Solving Skills Accidentally Ruins Parties" to see some deep character bonding that the first season lacked at the most part.

On further note, you get to see a couple surprise characters, maybe even a yellow cat from a certain Hanna-Barbera cartoon!🐱

Summary: Beginning to fear that she’s losing her wild edge, Dolly and Fergus head out to party with the big dogs.

Excerpt:

“As the mighty Cerberus regains their footing, it looks down on the three travelers who defeated it with something like respect. The far heads’ ears lower as they dip down. It’s the middle head that speaks. ‘Poodlewolves young and old have tried to break into the forbidden temple. All have failed. I can no longer stop you, but I warn you; when that door opens, it can’t be closed. So, like. Don’t.’”

“Seriously?” Dylan said. “That’s the best dark warning you could come up with?”

“Shhhhhhh!” A solid brown paw descended on his head. Roxy sent Dolly her winning smile, slobber and all. “Dolly, love, please keep going.”

“If you can do better, Dylan, then maybe you should put your muzzle where your money is and be Kennel Master next time.” Dolly shifted some notes around, finding her place. “Ahhh, here we go. Satisfied, Cerberus turns and opens the portal with a hefty bark. The master of death is not happy to see how things have turned out, but they aren’t exactly begging to take the blame on this one, either.” She slammed her paws down on the desk, rattling their pieces. “Now, humble travelers! What say you?”

“I say your diction needs a bit of work.”

“Woof you, Dylan." 

This took me ENTIRELY TOO LONG to finish. Like. Legitimately. I’ve had it sitting, half-finished, in my docs for months now.

I’ve always been really curious about Dolly’s self-confidence issues. She’s always had them in-show. She constantly berates herself for how she talks to Hansel, she’s ashamed of her looks in the Dolly-Delilah episode- and, more recently, she even let Big Fee run the show after she began to doubt her own skills. Part of Dolly seems really desperate to conform to what others want of her.

Ironically, this isn’t the only big Dalmatian story I have! I dunno if I’ll finish the other one- being a sisters-episode type thing where Triple D invite the girls in to do an ad and stuff- but either way, I had a blast writing these characters!

As always, I am 100% American, so if there’s any improvements to be made with how I’ve written accents/slang (and, let’s be real, I’m sure these are atrocious) please don’t feel nervous about telling me!

For this blogger's part, when it comes to the Cattanooga Cats, he can essentially picture them still managing to perform on occasion, though residing now in Gatlinburg for the most part thanks to their pet coffee house and artisan roasting plant, Cattanooga Klatsche, situated in a modest back alley off the Parkway, Gatlinburg's main drag and the gateway into Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Most Unlikely Attraction Thereof: When feasable, members of the band "themselves" will randomly select especially visitor types having some coffee or other libation and strike up conversation. That, and Country hosting the occasional quasi-talent competition featuring summer workers from the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area in a theater at Cattanooga Klatsche whose seating is repurposed car seats.

Not to mention occasionally going off for weekend campouts at some "divin' hole" spring they know about and do some breathhold diving.

(Well, this is at least one Old Hanna-Barberian's take on the Cattanooga Cats for especially fanfic and vignette ends. As for the others, I'd welcome what you think about my ur-AU.)

Even though the writers say the Cattanooga Cats are just animatronics in Jellystone, it would've been better for them to actually appear as themselves instead of yet another FNAF parody. Hopefully the writers could change their minds and they end up showing up and the resemblance from the animatronics is really one super contrived coincidence.

A while back I crossed the beams of some hyperfixations and wound up giving Stands to the kids from Jellystone. From left to right we got Mercy Mirror, Zero One, and Duck Sauce. I wrote 90% of the pilot episode of a fanfic about it, but doing the whole thing would have been too ambitious.

Hi I just wanted to ask if you have any tips on like organizing writing because currently I just make shit up as I go along and then that gets me burnt out rq

Cos I have like 3 Top Cat fanfics I wanna work on but then I get stuck almost immediately 😭

-The most important thing when you begin writing a story is to decide on the beginning, AND the end. The middle can always be handled as long as you have the destination in mind.

-A good story begins with a question/mystery, and must end with an answer to that question. [Eg. Spook left the gang and is roped up with another one. Will T.C. be able to get him back?]

-Show, don't tell: don't be a bodiless narrator of the story and don't try hitting readers on the head (DO YOU SEE THAT THING? DID YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED READER LOOOOOL). Just let events happen. Let characters breathe and talk. Let the readers come to their own conclusions as to what's really going on as if they're invisible spectators there in the middle of the action.

-Pay attention to how characters speak realistically: this is super important to make a character feel like a real person, not a parody. Be attentive to how people talk in general, both in real life and in good quality media. Realistic speech patterns, tics, accents, dialects, etc is very important.

-Although it's tempting, not every single character in your story needs to have their own full-blown arc. I mean, take Harry Potter for example. Amazing world building and characters, but not everyone is super important or central to the plot.

-Stories that reflect the human condition in their worldbuilding are more interesting to read. In CGaL, for example, one of the themes you'll find in the story is classism and power/wealth imbalance, if subtle.

-I'm forgetful and probably have some form of ADHD, so sometimes during the most random times of day an idea comes to my head and I immediately wanna put it into the story before I forget. That's what your Notes app on your phone is for. Write snippets, conversations, ideas, etc. as notes. They don't have to be pretty, you're just keeping them so you don't forget. Then copy them later to your story doc so you can eventually use them. For example, I have snippets written for what'll eventually be the last chapter of the story since like 2013. They're just sitting pretty for later.

-Pacing is very important. Your story - especially if multi-chaptered - shouldn't move too slowly, nor too fast. That's off-putting. Learning how to pace your story comes with practice, and with watching/reading other high-quality stories.

-Don't hesitate to delete entire pages if you think they're bringing down the story's quality. Don't fall for the Sunken Cost Fallacy. Sometimes you'll write a lot and then eventually decide it's just not working. Delete it and move on. What's important is the quality of the final version, not how many pages you wrote.

My Upcoming Fics and Feedback Requests

Hey there folks!

As I'm sure any of you who has visited by blog page know that I'm a writer on Archive of Our Own.

And so far, I've shared two of my works here.

Those being Disney Mirrorverse: The Series and X-Men: The Next Mutation.

Well I'm here today to announce three upcoming fanfics I have in the works right now.

Not sure if anyone has ever done something like this on Tumblr, but hey, there's a first for everything.

First we have "Maximum Marvel"!

Based off DeputyRustArt's AU of the same name, this series will serve as a commemoration of the 85th anniversary of Marvel Comics.

Heavily inspired by media such as Justice League Action and even Marvel's very own Adventures series, the series itself focuses on the adventures on the various heroes of the Marvel Universe.

And like those two pieces of media I just mentioned, it's more light-hearted and comedic than most Marvel entries, but still has a lot of action!

The series will be sort of a back-to-basics.

Bring many of the Marvel characters back to familiar roles they haven't been in for a long time.

Another major draw of this series will be that'll it essentially MAX out the Marvel characters.

(it's in the name)

And that'll be by either giving them some kind of new power, ability or equipment, or shedding light on skills they canonically have but rarely ever showcase.

The series will be premiering next Friday (August 31st).

Next we have The Nicksquad.

Set in a universe where the Nicktoons co-exist with each other in one big world (and specifically in a huge city known as Nicktropolis), the series focuses on the misadventures of The Nicksquad.

The Nicksquad itself consists of the main stars from the following Nicktoons:

-The Loud House

-The Fairly OddParents

-All Grown Up!

-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

-Avatar: The Last Airbender

-Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

The best way I can describe this series the feel of this series that it's a mix between MTV's Downtown, Mission Hill, The Powerpuff Girls, Regular Show, Static Shock, Jellystone and The Boondocks.

The series will be premiering sometime this fall.

And finally, we have Spider-Man: Family Values.

In the universe of this series, our family neighborhood Spider-Man is finally in an area that we've been wanting to see him in for nearly 20 years now....

BEING A FAMILY MAN!

Yep! Peter is HAPPILY MARRIED to Mary Jane and is the father to 5-year old Mayday Parker!

The series focuses on Peter and Mayday's adventures across the much bigger Marvel Universe alongside the rest of the Spider-Family.

Which consists of Shadow Spider (Miles Morales), Venom, Agent Anti-Venom, Black Cat and Silk.

Essentially this series will be like a mix between Goof Troop and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

If you couldn't tell be now, this series will have a prominent theme about family.

The series will premiere sometime in November.

Yeah, I wanted to have it premiere alongside Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, similar to how Next Mutation premiered alongside X-Men '97.

Also, the November premiere fits perfectly with the theme of family.

Ya know, Thanksgiving and all that.

Well, those are my three upcoming projects for you to keep a lookout for!

But before I go, I wanted to share the main reason I made this post.

I know may of the people who know about me have checked out the two fanfics I have out.

Since I did make posts that shared the links to each one.

And after nearly six months, I figured it was time to ask for some feedback.

I'd really love to hear your thoughts about the fics.

Answer any questions you may have about them.

And most of all, for you guys to express some hopes for the fics and even share some ideas you have for it.

In regards to both the current two and the three coming later this year.

Anyway, that's all I have for now.

The least that could be imagined in this scenario: Ranger Smith, looking somewhat peeved at the sight of Yogi dozing off another plunder mission of the Jellystone Park picnic areas on top of a picnic table and chewing him out for what must seem like the millionth time, prompting the inevitable battle of wits.

I have absolutely no clue how to actually share this fanfic I wrote for my au, Jellytale but imma share it in two ways (1. a link to the Google Doc version of it and 2. under the cut of this post!!)

and the fanfic below the cut!!

"... Sigh." Cindy quietly sighed to herself as she closed the doors that lead to the exit out of the Ruins. She slowly leaned against the doors before slowly slipping down to ground, her tears hitting the cold yet smooth floor of her basement. "God. DAMN IT." Cindy hollered, she slammed her hands against the ground, only for her to realize the sting of her injury. "Shit. Shit. Why did I do that?" She thought to herself, taking a moment to sink in the pain before continuing to cry. "Great job Cindy for letting yet another child leave the Ruins... Another child that'll be killed by him." The room fell completely silent after she muttered that... Something was off... Something didn't feel right... It felt like something was watching her. Suddenly the brownish-orange leaves on the ground started moving and levitating around her. "What's... Going on..." Cindy whispered in between her silent sobbing, hoping not to choke on her words, she tried to make out what's happening in front of her, trying to understand it until a ghostly sweet, innocent voice murmured out of thin air.

"M-Mom..?" The voice cried out in concern. Cindy jolted her head to the sound of where the voice was coming from, right next to her was the soul of Patience, Yakky Doodle. The timid duckling started to float over to Cindy, who grabbed her and hugged her tightly. "Don't worry, everything's alright now..." Cindy tried to assure her despite her harsh crying. "See? Everything's... A-Alright." Silence filled the room before another voice cried out, "Mom?" Cindy turned her head to the side to see an orange colored spirit next to her, it was the second child she looked after that fell down here, Caveman Jr. with the soul of Bravery. His face was scarred up a little as a scar ran across it. "M-Me see you... Me see you... Me see YOU!" He cried out as he started to levitate over to Cindy, until finally he was floating right next to her. The two of them stared at each other for a few moments before Caveman Jr. spoke again. "You... You found me... You saved me but me couldn't fight for long... And now me can finally get peace..." He started to stutter, Cindy just stared at him in confusion before she asked the question that was on her mind, "What happened to you?"

"Me try to fight a horse man but... he was too strong for me..." He explained in a weak voice, Cindy could tell that this brave soul was much weaker than her. "He... He beat me with bones... Me had to let him win for his alien brother..." He whimpered, Cindy felt a deep source of sorrow for this spirit. Not because she was a mother that had lost her children, but because this brave soul had to suffer such a fate. Cindy couldn't imagine something like that happening to her. She and the two souls huddled around for a while until another soul appeared. Cindy gasped in shock as she saw the face of the fourth soul that fell down here. "Reddy..." She whispered, tears started to stream down her face as she gripped onto Caveman Jr. and Yakky Doodle.

"Why? Why are they all coming to me? Why do they even want to be around me even though they wanted to leave so badly? Why?" Cindy questioned herself, Reddy slowly drifted over to Cindy, his glasses broken and his body all scarred up. "C-Cindy..? D-Did you miss me..?" He managed to stutter out, Cindy quickly got up and hugged Reddy, he slowly drifted back down to the floor.

She looked around the basement and saw that two other spirits appeared, one was Augie Doggie, the soul of Kindness, and the other was Ruff, Reddy’s brother and the soul of Justice. "Why?" She yelled this time, all the souls looked at each other before drifting over to Cindy. "C-Cindy?" They both asked in unison, Cindy looked away trying not to cry once again. She sniffled as she let out a deep sigh. "Why are all of you here?" She questioned the souls of all of the dead children she ever cared about. "Why are you all here?"

The souls stayed still, not moving or saying a word. Cindy's eyes started to water as her body started to shake. She couldn't hold it in anymore. The souls floated back to Cindy as she sank to the floor with tears streaming down her face once again.

"Why do you guys want to come back to me, The person that tried to hide you guys from exploring the undergrounds!? Why?" Cindy murmured with frustration and confusion. "D-Do I deserve to be haunted with my regrets..? Is- Is this some sort of punishment..?" She looked up at the souls around her, none of them said anything, instead they just stayed still and watched Cindy. Cindy hiccuped as she wiped away her tears.

"... No... It's because we miss you..." One last voice called out to Cindy. She turned her head and saw that it was the voice of Boo Boo, the soul of Integrity. The spirit looked at Cindy with reassurance in his eyes. "It's because you're a good person Cindy. You tried to do the right thing, and that's what matters." He assured her. Cindy whimpered as her eyes watered. She wiped them away and looked at the spirits in front of her once again.

They were right of course, but Cindy didn't know how to feel. She was left with nothing but mixed feelings. Cindy wanted to leave, but she wanted to stay with the ghosts of the dead children too.

They stayed like that for hours as Cindy cried and talked to the souls. She apologized to them all for everything she thought she had done to them, but they assured her that it was her fault and that they’re just happy to be back with her again.

"We'll always be with you, mom so you won't be alone again!" Augie Doggie happily exclaimed to Cindy, the other souls agreed with her.

"I'm happy you guys are deciding to stay..." Cindy managed to say to the ghosts with a dry throat. She wiped her tears as she looked down at the ghosts. "And there I was, worried that you all were going to leave me here all by myself." She admitted with a small chuckle.

"We'll never leave you, you're our mommy!" Yakky responded.

Cindy smiled and hugged each of the ghosts, she even let out a chuckle as she held onto the little ghosts.

“Now... Who wants pie?” Cindy asked, looking back at the ghosts before climbing up the staircase with the help of the spirits.

"I do!" One of the ghosts, Ruff yelled,

"I want some!" Reddy chimed in after his brother.

"Me do too!" Another ghost, this one being Caveman Jr., yelled as he started to float up towards the staircase as well.
