The first book I’m reading and currently on is ‘Lolita’ because it is known as one of the most controversial and misunderstood books to have ever be published. I’m currently on page 20 and I’m already so deeply disturbed, but very very intrigued. As to not spoil anything too much, you can tell Nabokov has an extreme talent for characterization and descriptive storytelling. He writes an acceptable unreliable narrator and he makes it obvious his intention of the book in the first 3 pages of the story. Maybe I’ll make a post about the book to explain more of what I mean later on.

‘The Virgin Suicides’ and ‘The Bell Jar’ are also well known classics that I’m excited to read because it seems that these books are most book lovers stepping stones to becoming better readers.

I have read works by Karin Slaughter before like her book ‘Pretty Girls’ and The Grant County Series, and I was interested in reading the Will Trent series since there was a TV show out now about it. The Grant County Series was definitely a personal favorite of mine and I’m wondering how differently the Will Trent series is gonna be.

Listening to Batman Audio Adventures and wow....the differences between AA and Unburied is wild.

Both have people of color in some of the main roles but keep the characters white in Audio Adventures while Unburied basicly confirms they're the same race as their VAs (especialy Bruce who's parents are also played by POC actors).

Both mention mental health, Unburied takes a very realistic and serious take on the topic while Audio Adventures takes a very pseudo-scientific look for the more sensantional series with the 60s vibe and tone of the stories and character portrayl.

The interesting difference is that Unburied takes a strong ACAB stance while AA makes Batman and Robin super-cops working officialy with the GCPD.

The tone is very different too, Unburied has a more serious and realistic R-rated tone and story involving a murder mystery and gory moments (with f-bombs). Audio Adventures as mentioned takes a more of a mix with 60s and 70s vibes in the tone, the stories and the portrayl of their characters (all of the villians perfectly fit in the Silver Age comics, so does Robin. Bruce is kinda a mix, with Jefrey personaly having an odd performance in the way he speaks).

I am not saying one is good and one is bad, they're both good, it's a personal preference thing. I much preffer the Unburied series in all things to the AA, but i admit AA is an objectively good and fun Batman series.

Jefrey Olen manifiesta en muchos de sus textos que cuando creemos que tenemos todas las respuestas, dejamos de hacer preguntas. Por lo tanto, no podemos ofrecer más descubrimientos. Sin embargo, la vida, no importa nada, lo que sea, es sin duda un viaje de puro descubrimiento y hace, a la fuerza, a muchas personas ver un mundo mucho más de posibilidades y de disfrutar del progreso, siempre y cuando nos mantengamos dispuestos a aprender.

En el mundo de ahora, realmente, ¿no existe el sentido de la seguridad? Con esto, no quiero decir que estamos sucumbiendo en un profundo derrotismo. Todo lo contrario, simple y llanamente, el “velo de la ignorancia” no nos permite ver más allá de lo que ocurre frente a nuestra nariz. Pero eso no importa, lo que importa es que las personas que están pendientes de lo que está ocurriendo en todo el mundo y logran ver la muralla invisible, se dan cuenta de que hay una evolución silenciosa que está tomando lugar entre los ciudadanos comunes y corrientes. Porque la verdad es que la gente ya se aburrió de seguir esperando que los conservadores o los liberales tomen decisiones que realmente representen al común denominador de las personas.

Por ello, esta evolución económica global, que se llama la tercera economía, es el resultado de las malas prácticas de lo que está haciendo el empresario. Pero, a nivel global, un hombre que ha sacado a más de 200 millones de personas de la pobreza y que no hay en Chile una persona que le llegue a los talones, se dio cuenta de que el sector público y privado no están preocupados del simple ciudadano. Es realmente vergonzoso ver que nos han forzado a estar pendientes de la farándula política, no política, económica o no económica, que simplemente nos damos cuenta de que nadie va a hacer absolutamente nada por nosotros y no vamos a tener las oportunidades. El mejor ejemplo es la multinacional Toyota, que reemplazó los robots que tenía en las líneas de producción de autos por seres humanos. Y estamos volviendo a ver que el ser humano es lo más importante en la ecuación.

Vale decir que todas las cosas que el profesor Yunus, Premio Nobel de la Paz, logró hacer que estas grandes multinacionales que se manejaban con distintos paradigmas volvieran a pensar que tienen que generar una fuerza laboral humana, a la cual se le pueda dar oportunidades de poder de soñar, crecer, vivir tranquilos y lograr lo que tantas personas buscamos en esta evolución silenciosa.

La libertad de elegir y velar pronto por un tema que es básico y que parte no en el sistema educacional. Todo parte, en el seno del hogar. Entonces, dónde queremos enfocar todos nuestros esfuerzos. Se debe pensar que si no podemos buscar un equilibrio en el sistema, que por lo menos desde mi punto de vista aquí en Chile se desvirtúa, al menos informarnos de qué se trata y los que saben, no se hagan los desentendidos. En Chile no debería existir la pobreza.
