The dormant Jeff/Shirley shipper in me has just come out of hibernation to let you all know that I think they got married on December 10th post-season 6. If this is subsequently contradicted in the movie then canon and I will just have to agree to disagree.

my take on Jeff's romantic life is like- he keeps trying to live in the past, going after people younger than him, caring too much about his appearance to really care about someone else. which leads into me shipping him with shirley. "you're the only one who really understands me" he says. she's the only one in the group who's actually his own age and has kind of equal power with him. I mean, there's britta, but she's a mess and it's not fair to either of them for them to date cuz they'd literally fight so much lmao

Abedison – I cherish you. You make my bisexual heart flutter wildly. You are an unstoppable force of chaos, and who would want to stop you. Annie is finally free to show some immaturity after having been forced to grow up too quickly. Meanwhile, Abed gets the appreciation he was often deprived of; no longer an outside observer but an active participant, perceived fully and loved for who he is. (Also, whoever decided that they would always be in scenes together post “Geothermal Escapism”, deserves a raise and a hug.)

Jeff x Britta - Snarky brilliance. No notes. They are 6 times married and 5 times divorced. Both hide their affection in sarcasm (of course they do, it’s the defence mechanism that helped them survive) but at the end of the day, have a genuine care for each-other and act as catalysts for each-other’s growth.

Jeff x Shirley – Absolutely adorable. Not only is it really cute, but the ship perfectly complements their character arcs. Shirley is finally allowed to experience closure from her divorce. Her subplots (e.g. in “Remedial Chaos Theory”) are often about how precarious she feels her position in the group is. She deserves greater appreciation and I feel that centring her as a love interest, whilst not the perfect solution, would force the writers to write her outside of her roles as “mum” and “Christian lady”. Meanwhile, Jeff has a whole episode (“The Politics of Human Sexuality”) dedicated to how he keeps chasing significantly younger women and the ways this is actively making his dating life worse (and is creepy and sexist as fuck). Also, his confession in “Intro to Felt Surrogacy” would have *actually* felt impactful if he was talking about Shirley’s kids instead, just saying.

Well, yeah, everything is better than Jeffannie. I think Jeff and Shirley's potentially romantic relationship is way more entretaining and unique than Jeff and Annie's "oh look it's an innocent, young and good girl with a bad, 35yr old man" dynamic.

I mainly see Jeff and Shirley's dynamic as father-son (yes, I'm aware that their age gap is smaller than Jeff and Britta's, but you know how Shirley is with everyone.) but I could definitely see them as a potential couple. Of course, there's no way in hell it would actually work, but shipping-wise, it's fun to imagine a sweet, passive-agressive housewife who loves children, marriage and christianity with... Jeff. Jeff x Shirley shippers are definitely welcome here.

I've definitely changed my mind over time about them as a couple, and it's not something I ship, but I can see the appeal and I think it's fun. Much like Trobed or Jeffdean

hello community fandom have the dream i had last night:

I had a dream that Community got a new show called Community 2 and in the first episode Troy and Abed were noticeably missing. I was thinking “ok they’re actors are very busy people I’m sure they’ll be back eventually” and then in the next episode Troy was revealed to be SPIDERMAN and he was having a series talk with Abed about things he had to do and then they kissed and I was sitting here like “😦🥺🫵⁉️⁉️⁉️ TROBED’S CANON?!?!?” and then Abed got possessed by this creature that was kinda like Venom and was fighting Troy and taunting him the whole time and the episode ended when a secret organization tranquilized Abed and took him away and I was emotionally devastated and made a meme that was like “Me when Community 2 Episode 1: ‘Oh boy I can’t wait to see what wacky things happen!’ Me when Trobed FUCKING BECOMES CANON AND IS EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING: ‘AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA’” and it was a picture of that lil white cat screaming
