My radical hot take about the 'Happily Ever After - Padme and Anakin raise Luke and Leia on Naboo AU' that everyone keeps dreaming about, is that Luke should still be a Jedi. Not one of those 'exceptions made, he still lives with his mom and dad, and being a Jedi is the equivalent of attending boarding school' Jedi people write about. No, I'm talking given to the Temple at four years old, raised communally by other Jedi, who becomes someone's padawan, and decides later in life if he wants to make contact with his birth parents. I'm saying he should be a Jedi, who's dedicated to the Jedi, who loves being a Jedi, and would always choose to be a Jedi.

Noticing that some of the youngest Jedi younglings were afraid of the clones (bc fully grown men in armor who mostly wear helmets do seem scary to toddlers), the creche masters decide to get them some clone dolls & toys to take away that fear. That meant that a whole generation of the youngest Jedi grew up playing with self-sown dolls of different clones from different battalions. And slowly the clones stopped being these big faceless men that are sorta around out there outside, but instead are the heroes of their playings and their friends. A whole generation of Jedi children begging the older Jedi knights and masters to tell them about their clone battalion. A whole generation of children fighting over the clone dolls with the painting in their favorite colour. A whole generation of Jedi younglings growing up hearing about how great and heroic the clones are, just like the clone cadets across the galaxy who are growing up hearing how great and heroic the Jedi are.

lost my mind during the one shot when the crechemaster was just like “look… master kenobi.. you wouldn’t be the first jedi to discover they’d fathered a child unknowingly” bc it does actually make sense, though i’d never really thought about it, but it’s so funny conceptually. like that crechemaster is about to be So suspicious of every red headed youngling they take in

this poor crechemaster has probably had like 30 different jedi come through being like um yes i have been told that i need to brush up on all things infant. yes it is for um a very important mission. we should also tailor these lessons to focusing on force sensitive infants. for no reason. no you will not be meeting them. but i still need to um know how to change a diaper. also what is a diaper. thank you. please help.

In the Star Wars au, it'd be about 13 years since the end of Revenge of the Sith, since Order 66 and the siege on the Jedi Temple. Bad and Foolish are survivors of the siege, barely escaping off Coruscant to the Outer Rim. Bad was devastated for various reasons, but the main one was the assumed death of his Padawan.

Leia turns to look at the braid, "Mm, it's a little wonky, but that's okay. I think it has character." She hands Vali several hair pins, "Are you allowed to say that kind of stuff about him?" Vali scoffs, "Who's going to stop me? Him?" Leia laughs, "This is why I prefer spending my time in the clone creche. You're all so...refreshingly honest." "Jedi are honest." Vali points out. "Jedi use ten words when three will suffice," Leia rolls her eyes, "but Uncle Obi-Wan's not terrible, I suppose." "That is why you're his apprentice, after all." Vali points out, "Alright, this braid is done. How many more?" Leia grins innocently, "6." Vali sighs, "Kriff. I should have invited Callie." Leia dissolves into laughter, and drops her head back, "But you're my best friend!" "Yeah, yeah. More fool me, right?" Vali reaches out to grab a handful of Leia's hair, "Alright, braid number 2."

I don't dislike the fanon that Quinlan is a part of the same creche group as the JA squad (Obi-Wan, Bant, Garen, etc.) but it does sometimes surprise me when I get reviews on fics alluding to this fact when I'm working with the Legends Quinlan backstory, because I'm just like wait what are you talking about before i remember what fandom thinks is canon lol

My headcanon is that trying to catch each other out with mind tricks is a game young jedi play. They're probably not really supposed to, because it could easily turn into bullying, but it's a game as old as jedi anyway. Just silly little things, like maybe they're eating dinner and someone drops a "you want to throw a meilooran at Yord" and they'll be halfway to doing it before noticing they're being had

Speaking of nocturnal Jedi, I headcanon that there's probably a whole Night Shift in the Jedi Temple of nocturnal species. With cute little nocturnal padawans from the nocturnal creche groups.

In a galaxy that big, there has to be nocturnal sapient species about the place. And why would they not simply be accommodated as they are? Especially on a planet like Coruscant where day and night are somewhat arbitrary for 99% of the population.

There are many potential benefits to having nocturnal Jedi. Need a stakeout partner who won't fall asleep by accident? Got it. Need someone who can navigate in the dark without artificial light? Done. Just straight up staffing facilities all around the day cycle? The nocturnal Jedi got you.
