Today Carlos Sainz:

Had had a 39-degree fever

Was in the throes of a bad gastrointestinal illness while driving an F1 car at 300kph

Hadn’t eaten in 24 hours

Managed to set the 3rd fastest one-lap time on medium tires (behind only Fernando and Max)

Set the 6th fastest lap time on softs despite the fact that they were FOUR LAPS OLD (everyone else was on brand new tires, his got burned in traffic) and even then was only a couple tenths behind his teammate (even faster in one sector)

Did an incredible race simulation stint on medium tires that was only beaten by the Red Bulls on pace
