- Oui. It me l'a écrit sur un papier. Le témoin produit le papier. On peut y lire: "H.M.C.B. Anna Miltred Doucet." Me Rivard : Vous lui avez demandé d'écrire son nom? - Oui. - Et c'est ca qu'il a écrit? - Oui. Il m'a dit qu'il s'appelait Doucet. Le procès se continuera lundi matin à 10 heures et 30.

Mills, may I interest you in another Hogwarts story? (but this time I put the boys in the same house :)) @lumosinlove
He’d been having a good dream - a really, really good dream - about him sitting by the Black Lake with Finn and Leo while they took stupid Polaroids of each other and shared soft kisses in between bites of their picnic. So why the fuck was he awake, when he could be unconscious right now (and dreaming about laying in the grass with the prettiest people he knew?)
Turns out James Potter is the reason, as he is currently banging on the door to their dorm and cursing like a muggle.
“You two better be up and ready, or I swear to God I will bench you.”
Logan groans, long and drawn out so James can hear just how he feels about being woken up at an ungodly hour. But instead of buggering off, James hits the door again.
“We’re leaving for the pitch as a team, so if you want breakfast I suggest you get out here now!”
“On our way!” Logan shouts back, sighing in relief when he hears James’ footsteps echoing down the stairs. He nearly relaxes back into his pillow before he feels an arm snake around his waist and hears a sleepy huff behind him. It’s then that he realizes he is not in his own bed.
Really, Logan should be used to waking up in Finn’s bed now (or sometimes Leo’s, if his dorm mates are gone). This... thing going on between the three of them has been happening since the beginning of term, and Logan still has a hard time wrapping his head around it. It’s lovely, but strange.
“I’m going to curse him.” Finn grumbles from behind him, and Logan has to take a second to remember how to inhale. Finn’s morning voice does things to him, like steal his breath away.
“You know how James is on game days.” Logan says.
Finn huffs, like he’s trying to laugh but isn’t awake enough to do so. “He’s a fucking lunatic, you mean?”
“Exactly.”
Finn raises his head off the pillow to look at the alarm clock on Logan’s side of the bed. (They have sides now. The thought makes Logan’s stomach feel all fluttery)
“For fuck’s sake, the game is at noon! What is James going to have us do for the next six hours?”
That’s another thing Logan loves about Finn in the mornings. The boy swears like a sailor when he’s tired and hasn’t had his coffee, and his bed head sticks up in the most endearing ways. It makes Logan think about what they could do for the next six hours, with Leo, alone in their dorm.
Finn lets out a shocked “oomf” as Logan yanks him by the shoulder, pulling him down to his chest. It’s clumsy, and Logan’s ribs hurt when Finn’s elbow lands on them but he doesn’t care much when their lips meet. He cares fuck all about anything else when he’s got Finn on top of him.
Logan would spend all day here, if it weren’t for his stupid teammates.
“We’re leaving for the pitch in twenty!” Sirius shouts from outside their door. Finn curses again, not even bothering to answer Sirius as he climbs out of bed and pulls Logan up with him.
“Shit, where are our jerseys?” Finn asks, searching under their clothes that are littering the floor.
“We laid them out on my bed last night.”
Finn rushes over, almost tripping over a pair of jeans and throwing Logan his jersey before pulling his own on.
Logan winces as he bends down to grab his socks, trying to be subtle about it. Finn, the absolute arsehole, does not give him the courtesy of pretending not to notice.
“You okay there, Lo?”
Logan glares at him, putting on his socks harsher than necessary. “Remind me not to give into your ‘bedroom eyes’ the night before a game.”
That earns him a laugh. “Oh, this is my fault? Who came onto who last night? I can’t remember.”
“Shut up.” Logan says without any bite.
Finn just beams back at him.
---
James is walking around to each player to talk individual strategy with them when Logan and Finn walk in. Leo is a bit embarrassed with himself at how quickly his heart rate picks up.
It’s only obvious to Leo what Finn and Logan were up to last night. Everyone else is too focused on their eggs and toast to notice Logan’s slight limp and Finn’s self satisfied smile. Or maybe Leo just pays too much attention to them. Who’s to say?
“Oi! What took you two so long? D’ya go to bed late or something?” Marlene asks from her end of the table. Leo zones in on the slight flush that appears on Finn’s neck.
Logan darts his eyes to Leo for a split second before looking back at Marlene. “Um, no,” he clears his throat, “Just couldn’t find our jerseys, that’s all.”
Leo smirks and looks down at his eggs and toast to play a picture of innocence as he stretches his leg out to brush his foot against Logan’s calf, telling him I know what you did last night. The resulting flush matches Finn’s.
“Ah, my fellow chasers! Glad you could make it.” James says, suddenly appearing behind them. “Wouldn’t want you two to miss out on the game.”
“The game that is still five hours away.” Talker mutters under his breath, looking half awake.
“Better to be prepared!” James cheers, and then goes to sit back down. At last, breakfast can continue quietly, and uneventful.
At least, uneventful until the team is walking out of the great hall, with Logan, Finn and Leo hanging back so they can walk together. That’s when McGonagall stops them just outside the doors.
“Good luck today boys. I know you'll do well.”
Leo thinks that’s the end of the conversation, as they thank her and continue down the corridor, but McGonagall calls out to them again.
“Oh, and Mr. O’Hara? Mr. Tremblay?” All three boys turn around to find a barely concealed smile on her face.
“I love the support you are showing for each other, but please remember to switch into your own quidditch jerseys before the game.” And with that, she disappears into the great hall.
Leo laughs hard at the wide eyed look on Finn’s face as he takes in their switched jerseys, displaying the other’s last name on the back.
He's going to fall for these two idiots so hard.
AAAAAH I LOVE IT!!!!

15 nominations pour LA DÉESSE DES MOUCHES À FEU au Gala Québec Cinéma 2021
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Alignement semblable dans la catégorie Meilleure réalisation, avec Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette (La déesse des mouches à feu), Sophie Dupuis (Souterrain), Philippe Falardeau (My Salinger Year) et Benoit Pilon (Le club Vinland), mais l’industrie a préféré Daniel Roby (Target Number One) à Pascal Plante (Nadia Butterly).
Dans la catégorie Meilleur scénario, encore là, les gros joueurs sont tous là: Normand Bergeron, Benoit Pilon, Marc Robitaille – Le club Vinland, Sophie Dupuis – Souterrain, Philippe Falardeau – My Salinger Year, Catherine Léger – La déesse des mouches à feu, Daniel Roby – Target Number One.
Tumblr media
Du côté des actrices, on retrouve Émilie Bierre pour Les nôtres, Marie-Evelyne Lessard pour Jusqu’au déclin, l’actrice américaine Margaret Qualley pour My Salinger Year, Karelle Tremblay pour la coproduction Death of a Ladies’ Man, ainsi que Sarah Sutherland pour Like a House on Fire.
Les acteurs en lice pour l’Iris sont Réal Bossé pour Jusqu’au déclin, Paul Doucet pour Les nôtres, Patrick Hivon pour Mont Foster, Antoine Olivier Pilon pour Target Number One, et Sébastien Ricard pour Le club Vinland.
Tumblr media

The powerful message of the FLQ’s October manifesto
A newsboy holds up a newspaper with a banner headline reporting the invoking of the Conflict Measures Act on Oct. 16, 1970, following the kidnapping of British diplomat James Cross and Québec Labour Minister Pierre Laporte by the FLQ. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Peter Bregg
The FLQ’s October 1970 Manifesto, delivered 50 years in the past this month, is among the finest ever written polemical items in Canadian historical past. It stands someplace within the literary pantheon with the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation’s Regina Manifesto, Refus International and some different texts.
Such a press release could appear puzzling provided that it was launched shortly after the kidnapping of James Cross, the British commerce commissioner, in October 1970 in Montréal, quickly adopted by the kidnapping and homicide of Pierre Laporte, Québec’s labour minister.
Nonetheless, a cautious studying of the manifesto reveals why it struck a chord amongst many French-speaking Quebecers. 4 parts may be underscored which might be widespread to nearly all nice political speeches in historical past:
Setting
Dialectic of anger and hope
Personalization of the problems
Empowerment
Announcer Gaétan Montreuil reads the manifesto on CBC. Courtesy of YouTube.
The setting
The setting during which a doc is delivered to the general public is at all times necessary. The printed of the FLQ manifesto is not any exception.
Listed among the many seven calls for for Cross’s launch, the manifesto was learn on French CBC on Oct. Eight by announcer Gaétan Montreuil.
The distinction was stark between Montreuil’s impeccable co-called “worldwide” French, his uninteresting and flat tone of voice, his tailor-made go well with and the manifesto’s use of joual (colloquial Canadian French) and really crude pictures.
In a manner, the CBC’s setting elevated the manifesto. It clothed it in respectable garment.
Tumblr media
Robert Charlebois is seen after being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Corridor of Fame in Toronto in March 2010. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Chris Younger
In 1968, playwright Michel Tremblay brought about an outrage when he let actors use joual. In 1969, rock singer Robert Charlebois infected younger crowds together with his songs in joual.
The printed of the FLQ Manifesto had an identical impression. For the primary time, working-class viewers have been listening to themselves represented on nationwide tv.
Anger and hope
The manifesto employed some coarse language. It was vulgar, prejudiced and accusatory.
It said that the FLQ wished to purge Québec “of the clique of voracious sharks, the patronizing ‘massive bosses’ and their henchmen who’ve made Québec their non-public looking floor for reasonable labour and unscrupulous exploitation.”
Utilizing the extremely efficient rhetorical device of reiteration, the manifesto underscored how folks in Québec have been fed up.
“We’ve had our fill,” repeats the manifesto many instances. Quebecers had had “their fill” of abuses, lies and contempt.
Anger, as we all know, is probably probably the most highly effective emotion driving mobilization. “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore,” famously shouts Howard Beale within the 1976 movie Community. In 1970, many Quebecers have been “mad as hell.”
Nonetheless, having detailed Quebecers’ frustration, the FLQ manifesto ended on a hopeful observe:
“Our wrestle can solely be victorious. An awakening folks can’t be saved in distress and contempt for lengthy.”
Someday quickly, concluded the FLQ, Quebecers will be capable of reside in “a free society, working by itself and for itself, a society open to the world.” Having lived for therefore lengthy in darkness, they might see the sunshine.
Personalization
The FLQ manifesto didn’t describe the scenario within the summary. Quite the opposite, it personalised the problems.
It talked about particular strikes and working-class struggles. It spoke of the employees at Ayers, Seven-Up, Victoria Precision, Dupont, Domtar, the blue-collar employees in Laval and Montréal, the milk producers, the law enforcement officials, the fishermen of the Gaspé, the employees of the North Shore, the miners, the welfare recipients, Montréal taxi drivers, and so on. And it addressed folks by their title.
It talked about “Mr. Bergeron of Visitation Avenue” and “Mr. Legendre of Laval,” who didn’t earn an honest residing and didn’t “be happy in our nation of Québec.”
It talked about “Mr. Tremblay of Panet Avenue” and “Mr. Cloutier, who works in building in St. Jérôme” and always felt betrayed by corrupt politicians.
It talked about “Mrs. Lemay of St. Hyacinthe,” who couldn’t “pay for little journeys to Florida just like the rotten judges and parliamentarians do with our cash.”
By making the problems private, the FLQ manifesto felt actual. It appeared that the oppression of working-class francophones was not one thing its authors had merely examine in books.
Empowerment
The FLQ manifesto known as for a revolution. However this revolution was to not be led by ringleaders and avant-garde activists.
The primary line of the FLQ manifesto is unambiguous on this regard: “The Entrance de libération du Québec is neither the Messiah nor a modern-day Robin Hood.”
If Quebecers have been to take management of their future, they must stand up from the place they have been. They must rely at the beginning on themselves.
The manifesto ends with a transparent rallying cry to all Quebecers:
“Manufacturing unit employees, miners and loggers; service-industry employees, lecturers, college students and the unemployed, take again what belongs to you, your jobs, your willpower and your liberty …. Don’t watch for some miracle group. Make your individual revolution in your neighbourhoods, in your locations of labor. When you don’t do it yourselves, different technocratic usurpers and so forth will substitute the handful of cigar people who smoke we now know, and the whole lot should be carried out over once more. Solely you’ll be able to construct a free society.”
Actions converse louder than phrases
After the FLQ manifesto was broadcast on Oct. 8, 1970, French-speaking Quebecers felt uplifted. It expressed lots of their considerations.
However on Oct. 17, when Laporte was discovered lifeless within the trunk of a automotive, murdered in chilly blood by his FLQ kidnappers, the FLQ manifesto took an altogether completely different which means. It was now not a good, hopeful and empowering doc that Quebecers might relate to.
Tumblr media
The physique of Pierre Laporte, with Premier Robert Bourassa and his spouse kneeling earlier than it, lies in state on Oct. 20, 1970 within the Montréal courthouse. THE CANADIAN PRESS
The truth that the FLQ cell that assassinated Laporte was not the identical one which composed the manifesto didn’t matter. Each have been in solidarity.
They need to have recognized that actions converse louder than phrases.

Review
“The historiographical format of The Developmental Science of Adolescence could be a useful approach to apply also in other fields. Certainly, this chock-full volume makes for thought-provoking reading…”  — Sherry Lynn Hatcher, PsycCRITIQUES

The Weekend Warrior 12/13/19: JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL, BLACK CHRISTMAS, RICHARD JEWELL, BOMBSHELL and more!
Woooooooo!!! We’re starting to get to the end of the year with only three more weekends of new movies before we’re into 2020, which on one hand, has to be better than 2019, but maybe not in terms of box office with no “Avengers” or “Star Wars” movie in sight.
Tumblr media
Sony Pictures is releasing the second-to-last sequel of the weekend, JUMANJI: THE NEXT LEVEL, which brings back all of your faves, including Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and introduces a new character played by Awkwafina. I reviewed the movie over at The Beat, and also discussed its box office prospects
I also will have a review of Sophia Takal’s horror remake BLACK CHRISTMAS (Universal) over at The Beat, but that’s mainly interesting since it’s the second remake of the ‘70s horror movie, this one produced by Blumhouse.  I really liked Sophia Takal’s previous movie Always Shine, so I’m definitely interested to see what she does with a mainstream horror film.
You can read my reviews of both those movies over at The Beat, although the Black Christmas review is embargoed until Thursday night… make of that what you will. Plus you can read more about the three wide releases over at my weekly Box Office Preview.
Tumblr media
One movie I haven’t reviewed over there is Clint Eastwood’s latest, RICHARD JEWELL (Warner Bros.), which stars Paul Walter Hauser as the famed Atlanta security guard who discovered a bomb in the city’s Centennial Park and was then accused of planting the bomb there to be seen as a hero. The movie also stars Sam Rockwell (as Richard’s lawyer), Kathy Bates (as Richard’s mother), Jon Hamm as the FBI guy who is after him and Olivia Wilde as the Atlanta reporter who first breaks the story about Jewell being a suspect. I’m going to try to write a mini-review for this one, but long and short of it, is that this is another really good movie from Eastwood, and if I get a chance, I will write more about it soon.
LIMITED RELEASES
There are a bunch of great movies coming out in limited release, some that will expand wider later in the month.
Tumblr media
First and foremost is Jay Roach’s BOMBSHELL (Lionsgate), starring Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, and if you know those names, then you might already realize that this film written by Charles Randolph (The Big Short) is about the Fox News sexual abuse scandal. Margot Robbie also stars in this one, as does John Lithgow as Roger Aisles, plus there’s lots of other great character actors in roles as people you might know from the news (both on camera and behind the scenes).  I was hoping to write a fuller review of this and maybe still will but didn’t have time before getting this column out. Regardless, this is a very intriguing and entertaining film (just like The Big Short) with fantastic performances by all. The movie will expand nationwide next Friday.
Josh and Ben Safdie are back with UNCUT GEMS (A24), starring Adam Sandler as a New York jewelry merchant who gets his hands on a rare South African gem, and then spends the entire movie trying to get it back after lending it out to star basketball player Kevin Garnett (playing himself). I wasn’t really a very big fan of the Safdies’ Good Time, which Millennial critics tend to cream all over, but Uncut Gems is definitely better even if it’s similarly manic. Sandler’s definitely good in the role, but awards-worthy? Not even close… I think this ia good movie being sold by people as a great movie, and I couldn’t disagree more. If you liked Good Time, you’ll probably like this, too. This will be nationwide on Christmas Day.
Terrence Malick is also back, continuing his amazingly prolific degree of filmmaking in his mid-70s with A HIDDEN LIFE (Fox SEarchlight), a three-hour drama about an Austrian farmer (August Diehl) who refuses to swear allegiance to Hitler as WWII begins, which first makes him a bit of a pariah in his rural community but eventually gets him thrown in prison for treason. Valerie Pachner is quite terrific as his wife, and the movie has some great smaller roles for Matthias Schoenaerts, the late Michael Nyqvist, Bruno Ganz and Jürgen Prochnow. If you’re a fan of Malick’s better films than
Kristen Stewart plays French New Wave actress Jean Seberg in Benedict Andrews’ SEBERG (Amazon), about how the actress got into a relationship with Hakim Jamal (played by Anthony Mackie), causing trouble for her career. The movie also stars Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood), Jack O’Connell, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Root, and it will get a limited release this weekend.
Stephen and Robbie Amell star in Jeff Chan’s Code 8 (Elevation Pictures), Robbie playing Connor Reed, a guy with superpowers living in a world where those with powers are minimalized and living in poverty. In desperate need of money to help his ailing mother, Connor gets in with a powered thug named Garrett (played by his cousin, Stephen) to use his powers for elaborate heists. It’s a surprisingly good movie, mainly due to Jeff Chan’s ability to create a big movie on a seemingly limited budget.
You can check out the trailer and Chan’s original short film that inspired the feature below, and my interview with Robbie Amell will be on The Beat on Thursday sometime.

Steven Luke’s The Great War (Saban/Lionsgate), opening in select cities Fridays, takes place during the last days of WWI where a regiment of African-American “Buffalo Soldiers” are trapped behind enemy lines. When one escapes, he asked to join an all-white troop to find the survivors.s
An interesting doc, especially for lovers of dance, is Alla Kogvan’s documentary Cunningham (Magnolia), which uses 3D technology to explore the life and work of the late choreographer Merce Cunningham (who would be celebrating his centennial anniversary this year), combining archival footage with newly-created performances of Cunningham’s greatest work. This movie reminded me quite a bit of Wim Wenders’ doc Pina in that I enjoyed this, despite having zero to no interest in dance in general. It will open at the Film Forumin New York on Friday, as well as Film at Lincoln Centeruptown, the Royal in L.A, the Arclight in Sherman Oaks and Edwards Westpark 8 in Irvine.
Xavier Dolan’s latest film The Death and Life of John Donovan (Momentum), stars Kit Harington, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Kathy Bates, Thandie Newton, Jacob Tremblay and more. It’s about the relationship between a young actor and a TV star that takes place ten years after the latter’s death. It will open in select cities and On Demand.
Lastly, there’s Danny Abeckaser’s MAFIA drama Mob Town (Saban Films), starring David Arquette, Jennifer Esposito, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and PJ Byrne.
Also, next Monday, Trafalgar Releasing is releasing Gorillaz: Reject False Icons, a new concert doc about Damon Alban’s Blur spin-off group with comic artist Jamie Hewett.
STREAMING AND CABLE
Michael Bay’s action-comedy 6 UNDERGROUND (Netflix), starring Ryan Reynolds, will get a very limited release Weds. before debuting on the service on Friday. I really don’t know much about it other than it’s about six specialists come together to do stuff.

James and the EQ for the child meme. :)
Tumblr media
James and Gina Mills-Prince (because there are already a million Charmings and David had 2 of his kids first so he claimed that name, and Regina has the Hood-Mills name already so it was easier for their mail man this way)
(Theres no actual James and EQ interaction but this pic of Lana and Josh could totally count.)
Okay so these two were both given second chances and work hard at being good, because I don’t buy that Underworld shit that James is completely evil - there’s characters who have killed many more (like yeah he let Jack die and stole but there are so, so much worse who get everything written off…)Obviously Gina also shares Henry - because sometimes a family (who gets along well with his step-father, he enjoys teasing both James and David.) Although Regina cant have kids Gina somehow can (purely so I could do James having twins because like they totally could have had David and Snowing having twins JS…)
Tumblr media
Name: Edmund ‘Teddy’ Henry Mills-Prince (8)
Gender: Male
General Appearance: His hairs shorter than his brother’s, he has light brown eyes and light brown hair. He likes to be fashionable, he’s often wearing a leather jacket James bought him, with skinny jeans and a t-shirt or shirt.
Personality: Observant, quick tempered, good at problem solving. He’s very imaginative and lively. He loves sword fighting with his dad and his uncle David. He may get in trouble a lot but his heart is in the right place. He’s a natural leader, is very loving, and is inseparable from his brother. Courageous.
Special Talents: He has magic like his mother and twin brother.
Who they like better: He loves both his parents and thinks they’re really cool.
Who they take after more: He has a bit of a quick temper like his parents, they had to teach him techniques to deal with it, but he is still gets in trouble every now and then, mostly for sticking up for different kids in his class (so his parents are happy about that). He’s rather cheeky which is like James so Gina blames that on James’ side.
Personal Head canon: His parents went down the royal names route with him and his brother, after all they both have royal names too. He adores his cousins on both his mom and his dad’s side and he loves his aunties and uncles. He helped his dad build a tree house in the back yard. He loves comic books and Star Wars - he also loves Shrek (which Henry showed him and his other brother  to tease James) and will often quote it.
Face Claim: Jacob Tremblay
Tumblr media
Name: Charles ‘Charlie’ Robert Mills-Prince (8)
Gender: Male
General Appearance: Tends to run cold, he’s always in sweaters or cardigans. He naturally looks identical to his brother, just with slightly longer hair. Normally has pen on his hands from drawing or writing with felt tips. He too has a leather jacket James got him, he wears it whenever they’re out.
Personality: He’s a very sensitive and caring boy, he’s optimistic and sees the best in people, he’s very like Henry when Henry was a little kid. He sticks up for people who need it but otherwise is fairly quiet. He likes reading the the stories Henry wrote and like Teddy he’s very imaginative. Loves animals.
Special Talents: He has magic too.
Who they like better: He loves both his parents and thinks they’re really cool.
Who they take after more: He’s a good mix of both of his parent’s best bits - but he’s often around his mom so he’s picked up a lot of her (better) habits.
Personal Head canon: His parents went down the royal names route with him and his brother, after all they both have royal names too. He has his own horse which his mother taught him to ride. He gets along with David especially (they were both the quieter twins out of the two) He adores his cousins, aunts, and uncles. He likes baking with Regina, and going on walks with James.
