There is something about a great adventure which gives you the taste for action and leaves you wanting more. If like ploughing through tales of adventure, action and high stakes situations, then you might need to dive into a boxset or two to make sure you get your fix. Actie, spanning en sensatie in  DVD-releases van Universal in maart

            N.C.I.S. – Seizoen 13 – 1 maart – DVD In seizoen 13 van NCIS worden de missies persoonlijk wanneer iemand van het team wordt ontvoerd, nieuw bewijs hun conclusies in twijfel trekt en iemand uit het verleden het team en hun bondgenoten bedreigd. Zelfs nu het gevaar zo dichtbij komt weet Special Agent Lero Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) dat hij kan rekenen op zijn team om te gaan met de crises die de Amerikaanse militairen en de nationale veiligheid aantasten. De belangen zijn nog nooit zo hoog geweest en dan maakt Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) ook nog eens in de onvergetelijke laatste aflevering zijn laatste optreden. Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham, Rocky Carroll en David McCallum zijn ook te zien in de 24 afleveringen van dit 13e seizoen.

N.C.I.S.:  New Orleans  – Seizoen 2 – 1 maart  – DVD Amerikanen komen naar de Big Easy om te feesten, maar de misdrijven krijgen vaak een dodelijke wending. En daar is de elite eenheid van NCIS: New Orleans in gespecialiseerd. Dwayne Cassius “King” Pride (Scott Bakula) staat aan de leiding van het team dat deze zaken moet oplossen. Zijn team bestaat uit rechercheur Christoper Lasalle (Lucas Black), de zeer toegewijde Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) en hun nieuwste rekruut voormalig ATF agent Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant). Hawaii Five-0  – Seizoen 6 –  1 maart – DVD De temperatuur stijgt wanneer het team van Hawaii Five-0 werken aan de meest beruchte en verbijsterende strafzaken met betrekking tot moord, de maffia, spionage, en ontvoering. Met McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) en Danny (Scott Caan) aan de leiding ondervraagt het team een bende stuntfietsers, achtervolgen ze een Russische spion die toegang heeft tot NSA geheimen en helpt een autistisch kind ze bij een moordzaak. Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) en Kono (Grace Park) worden onder schot genomen door twee moordenaars die niet weten dat zij van de politie zijn en Grover (Chi McBride) en zijn familie worden achtervolgd door een 15 jaar oude maffia-zaak. Ondertussen keert Catherine (Michelle Borth) terug naar het eiland en wil McGarrett de volgende stap nemen in hun relatie.

The Last Panthers – Seizoen 1 – 1 maart – DVD en Blu-ray Samantha Morton, Tahar Rahim, Gorban Bogdan en John Hurt spelen een rol in deze spannende zesdelige dramaserie die gebaseerd is op waargebeurde verhalen. Aan het begin van de eeuw werden alle grote steden in Europa geplaagd door een aantal brutale juwelenroven die werden uitgevoerd door de “Pink Panthers”, een bende die befaamd is door hun gedurfde overvallen in daglicht en hun sensationele vluchten. Een decennium lang teisteren ze de Europese juweliers totdat ze ineens verdwenen. Opeens is er een overval in Zuid-Frankrijk met alle kenmerken van de Panthers. Wat begint bij diamanten leidt tot wapens, drugs en financiële misdaad en betrekt de EU, Londen en duistere criminele onderwereld van Europa erbij en een nieuw soort crimineel wordt bekend, de “Bankster”.

Scorpion – Seizoen 2 – 1 maart – DVD De briljante buitenbeentjes zijn terug! Elyes Gabel speelt Walter, de eigenzinnige leider van de wonderkinderen die hun intellect gebruiken om ’s werelds grootste problemen op te lossen. Robert Patrick speelt de harde Homeland Security agent Cabe Gallo en Katharine McPhee is te zien als Paige, een ex-serveerster die de “normale” wereld vertaalt voor de geniëen en zij helpen haar bij het begrijpen van haar geniale zoon.

Extant – Seizoen 2 – 1 maart – DVD Oscar® winnares Halle Berry vraagt zich af wat het betekent om een mens te zijn in deze sci-fi thriller van uitvoerend producent Steven Spielberg. Gesloopt van verdriet na het verliezen van haar man en Humanich zoon Ethan moet astronaut Molly Woods gedwongen opgenomen worden in een “rustfaciliteit”. Ze gelooft dat haar opname onderdeel is van een samenzwering om haar stil te houden over de aanwezigheid van aliens. Molly ontsnapt maar ze krijgt te maken met een onbekende ziekte… één die waarschijnlijk te maken heeft met haar mysterieuze ontmoeting in de ruimte waardoor zij zwanger is geworden. Verraden door vrienden en bevriend geraakt met vreemden, inclusief agent JD Richter (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), gaat Molly op zoek naar Ethan en Adhu, haar hybride zoon, die nu meer van zijn soort heeft gemaakt. De overheid is bang dat de hybriden zullen zorgen voor het uitsterven van de mensheid daarom ontwikkelen zij een krachtig Humanich leger om tegen ze te vechten, maar de robots hebben ook eigen plannen. Het is tijd om een kant te kiezen nu de mensen strijden tegen aliens en robots in het fantastische tweede seizoen van Extant.

Ouija 2: Origin of Evil – 22 maart – DVD en Blu-ray + Boxset Het was nooit alleen maar een spelletje. Ouija: Origin of Evil sleurt kijkers mee in de wereld van het bovennatuurlijke bordspel. In het Los Angeles van 1967 lichten een moeder en haar twee dochters mensen op met séances. Wanneer ze een nieuw trucje toevoegen aan hun repertoire halen ze per ongeluk een echte kwaadaardige geest in huis. Als de jongste dochter bezeten raakt door deze genadeloze geest, moet de familie ondenkbare angsten overwinnen om haar te redden en om de geest die haar in bezit heeft uit te drijven.
