JCM2000 TSL100 の修理 (BIAS抵抗)

この個体は比較的初期のもので、高圧の基板上の配線が相互に近いために古くなるとそこからリークして、結果 BIAS が暴走するという持病がある。対策版基板が Marshall から供給されたそうだが完璧ではなく、それもすでに供給終了。結局のところ、基板を削って空中配線というのが対策らしい。 入手したときには、この症状のために 1Ωの BIAS抵抗が過電流のためか抵抗値が180kΩになっていた。 手持ちに適切な1Ωの抵抗がなかったけど、とりあえず動かしてみたかったので、セラミックコンデンサみたいな形のヒューズ抵抗があった。抵抗値も1Ω。これなら電流が流れ過ぎて一度切れても復帰する。 というような修理をして、とりあえずふつうに音も出るようになっていたのだが、ATTも入れていい気なってフルテンで鳴らしたら、燃えた(汗) ということは、やはり対策はうまくいかなかったのだろうか。でも、ヒューズ抵抗も怪しいので、ちゃんとした1Ωの抵抗を買ってきて、そのままになっていた。 やっとワークベンチが空いたので、開けてみたら写真のように真っ黒。完全に焼損していた。しかし、もう一方は大丈夫。

基板やヒューズまで真っ黒だが、拭いたらまあまあきれいになった。ここのヒューズも切れていなかった。HTヒューズは切れていたが。 思ったより軽症で他に影響は出ていなそうなので、ヒューズ抵抗だけ1Ωの抵抗に付け替えた。 BIASは70mAに設定。

音が何だかちょっと小さめな気もするけど、こんなもんだったかなあ。怖いのでフルテンにはしないで使おうと思うので、こんな感じでよいか。 というわけで、HT-5RHと TSL100 の2台のギターアンプの修理を完了。 久々に無線機の修理に戻るか…

My old Marshall JCM2000 guitar head was cursed, but the “Mosh hard” logo modification remains some of my finest DIY handiwork. Today in 2006 the head was stolen out of my car, conveniently the day before I had to record guitar tracks for the Olde Ghost demo. This amp saw many shows but never actually made it onto any records. Eight years earlier, a fuse or circuit crapped out before recording the Excitebike EP, and I had to use my inferior Fender stereo chorus.
