Thus, as we find in the JBL Charge 5 specs below, it offers substantially more bass output than models in the JBL Flip family. The BlueAnt X3 8.The Charge 5 JBL speaker sounds HUGE, and plays strong enough to saturate outside parties with ponderous sounding response. But to be fair, these are 360° speakers focusing on volume, and comparisons are not all that objective. I review many BT speakers, and I would put it close to the Ultimate Ears Mega Boom 8.2/10 ($299.95) and well above the Boom 3 8.2/10 ($199.95). Interestingly the speaker it replaces, JBL Charge 4, was $229.95.

JBL has done it again with its expertise in water-resistant, no-frills, Bluetooth speakers that sound great. It is not so much distortion but clipping or compression and backing off a few dB fixes that. Volume-wise it reaches 84.4dB (loud), but there is a little too much distortion at 100% volume. We did not have a second unit to play stereo in PartyBoost, but it has a decent enough signature to handle that. Outdoors it is loud enough, but the passive bass radiators struggle to ramp up the bass in the wide-open spaces. We found podcasts to be clear and clean courtesy of the new tweeter – it adds clear dialogue missing from the Charge 4. The top end is a little harsh but back off a few dB and that goes.īut the lack of an app EQ means garbage in, garbage out, so have a little pride and play at least 16-bit, 44.1kHz ripped music that Spotify et al., provide. It covers all the significant audio characteristics. To put this in perspective it has significant low to mid-bass, powerful high-bass and flat all the way to about 8kHz (low treble). This is amazing (Gold line) – a delight to listen to. Just to reinforce this – few speakers achieve this nirvana that is a delight to listen to and certainly you don’t expect this at $199.95. I call it terrific with JBL’s neutral sound ‘signature’ that neither adds nor subtracts from the original content.

Mono 90 x 52mm woofer (30W) and 20mm tweeter (10W RMS) plus the characteristic JBL passive bass radiators at either end. IP67ġm for 30 minutes provided the charge out socket cover is in place. At 100% volume (test over an hour and extrapolated), that gets closer to 13 hours. We tested on a continuous loop under the same parameters, and it achieves just over 19 hours. JBL claims up to 20 hours, based on 50% volume and BT 5.1 SBC low-res MP3 audio content from a BT 5.1 device. It can charge a USB device while charging, but that also increases the speaker charge time. Of course, that reduces playing time accordingly. To put that in perspective, it should charge an iPhone 13 about 1.5 times. The Power Bank bit means it has a USB-A port capable of 5V/2A/10W charging. That also means it can charge from a car utility socket (cigarette lighter). It will also charge at 5V/2A/10W or less, but charge times can be longer. Charge time using any USB-C PD charger is about four hours – there is no fast charge. The battery is 3.6V/7.5A/27W, which is significantly larger than most BT speakers. PartyBoost is a great concept but is supersedes Part Connect that may upset some owners of older JBL speakers that cannot use it. These include Xtreme 3, Boombox 2, Pulse 4 and Flip 5. It also has JBL PartyBoost to join with up to 100 like-minded JBL speakers. It does not require a login, but it does need location data, Bluetooth access, and storage access (to play on-device audio). While you don’t need the app, it is handy to check for firmware updates.

The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 2 is the best budget home speaker that we’ve tested. This colorful speaker has a very portable design, so you can take it with you from one room to another. It also has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, although we don’t currently test for this, and it can float in water, which is nice if you’re having a pool party.

It has a 360-degree design and can play stereo content, so you get an immersive audio experience from its spacious and natural-sounding soundstage. It also has a neutral mid and treble range, ensuring that vocals and lead instruments sound accurate, detailed, and clear. Thanks to its almost 13 hours of continuous playback time, you can listen to your audio for long periods. It can be paired with up to two devices at once, making it easy to switch audio sources between your PC and smartphone.

Unfortunately, unlike many other speakers on this list, it doesn’t have voice assistant support at all. If you like thump and rumble in your audio, it als struggles to reproduce low-bass, which can be a little disappointing. That said, while it doesn’t have an EQ, it has an ‘Outdoor Mode’ feature, which is advertised to help its bass reproduction, but we don’t currently test this.

Best Cheap Home Speaker: Amazon Echo Dot Gen 4

The best cheap home speaker that we’ve tested is the Amazon Echo Dot Gen 4. This small, wired speaker has Amazon Alexa built-in. This voice assistant delivers a fantastic overall performance and can even hear you if you’re in a noisy room or far away from the speaker.

While it has a dark and dull sound profile overall, thanks to its balanced mid-range, it can reproduce clear and accurate vocals and lead instruments. It’s also compatible with the Amazon Alexa app, which has bass and treble adjustments so you can tweak it to your liking. If you have a couple of these speakers, you can link them together if you want a stereo pair or connect them to play audio in different parts of your home.

Unfortunately, like many small speakers, it struggles to reproduce low-bass, so your mixes lack thump and rumble. It also downmixes stereo audio into mono, which results in a less-than-immersive experience. It doesn’t get very loud, and there are some compression artifacts at max volume. Với 2 loa trầm 2 bên cạnh, X300 cho âm bass khá tốt so với kích thước nhỏ nhắn của mình, X300 cho ra âm bass vừa phải dễ nghe, không đẩy lên quá nhiều như các mẫu loa di động khác khiến cho âm thanh rất cân bằng. Đặc biệt ở dải âm trung X300 vô cùng nổi bật, nếu bạn đang có nhu cầu đàm thoại, xem phim thì âm trung X300 rất rõ ràng, tiếng mid tiến nhưng vì thế mà không quá khô, có một chút mượt mà dễ chịu. Treble trên X300 chỉ vừa phải cho nhu cầu nghe cơ bản, tuy nhiên không vì thế mà bạn cảm thấy thiếu dải âm cao, âm cao cho chất lượng tốt, mở lớn không có hiện tượng bị vỡ tiếng chứng minh khả năng kiểm soát âm thanh tốt của X300.

So với người tiền nhiệm Logitech Boombox cũ ở cùng mức giá thì X300 mang lại cho ta sự trẻ trung hơn, hệ thống loa rộng và nhiều loa hơn với công suất lớn hơn, cùng thiết kế độc đáo mang lại không gian âm thanh rộng lớn cho nhu cầu xem phim di động, chắc chắn bạn sẽ không phải bỏ lỡ bất kỳ một dịp vui nào trên thiết bị di động với X300.

3. Logitech X100

Logitech X100 dùng Bluetooth để kết nối các thiết bị phát, hoặc cổng AUX 3.5mm ngay bên cạnh cổng sạc microUSB. Hai cổng này không có nắp đậy nên nó không có khả năng sử dụng dưới mưa như dòng UE Boom. Màng loa thiết kế kim loại với hoa văn các hình tam giác nhỏ khá đẹp mắt. X100 có 5 bộ vỏ màu, trong đó 3 phiên bản được phối hai màu sắc lần lượt là vàng chanh - tím; đỏ-tím; cam-xanh dương. Còn lại là hai màu đen và xanh cyan.

Hệ thống điều khiển nổi bật với 3 nút có vòng trang trí nổi bật, nút nguồn đồng màu và thiết kế chìm với phần vỏ. Nút bấm có logo Bluetooth vừa làm chức năng ghép nối với các thiết bị di động, vừa làm chức năng nhận/kết thúc cuộc gọi. Âm lượng của loa khá lớn, chất âm dễ nghe với tiếng bass vừa đủ, khả năng đàm thoại được đáp ứng tốt.

Với mức giá 1 triệu đồng, Logitech X100 là lựa chọn dễ dàng cho nhu cầu nghe nhạc di động. Nếu có khả năng chống nước mưa để sử dụng ngoài trời nữa thì sẽ hoàn hảo hơn.

Chiếc loa mang kiểu dáng thiết kế dạng tròn, kích thước khá tương đồng với một số dòng loa như JBL Clip / Micro, nhờ vậy mà nó không chiếm nhiều diện tích khi di chuyển. Bộ vỏ ngoài được bọc cao su chống bám vân tay, chắc chắn nó cũng sẽ không bị trầy xước khi chẳng may rớt từ độ cao 1 mét. X100 có một quai xỏ dây lớn có thể vừa lọt được ngón tay út nên bạn có thể dùng dây bản lớn để móc. Thiết kế to như vậy nên muốn dùng carabiner đeo thì chúng ta vẫn cần dây để đeo, và Logitech cũng kèm sẵn trong hộp.
