Flufftober Day 2: Jay White

Prompt: “You’ve told your parents?” T/W: None

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Penelope asked, as we walked down the hallway at Dynamite.

I let out a chuckle and nudged her with my shoulder.

“We’ve been dating for 8 months already,” I explained. “I think it’s finally time that he met my parents, you know?”

“I just don’t think Jay is the type of man you bring home to mother,” Penelope said, shrugging her shoulders.

“I know he comes off like a self-entitled prick, but he really is a sweet guy when you get to know him.”

Penelope goes to speak but stops when she spots someone down the hall. I follow her gaze and see Jay standing there talking to Kenny and the Bucks. He turns his head and smiles when he sees me.

Jay says goodbye to the Elite, and walks over to me and Penelope. Penelope excuses herself and goes to meet up with Kip.

“How are you, love?” Jay asks, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me close to him.

“I’m great,” I said, smiling up at him.

He bends down to give me a kiss, which I happily except. I place my hands on his biceps and sigh. He pulls away and looks at me with concern.

“Everything okay, darling?” He asked.

“Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something,” I replied, rubbing my hands on his arms.

“You know you can ask me anything,”

“Will you come with me to have dinner with my parents this weekend?�� 

Jay’s eyes widen in shock at the question, which makes me a little nervous.

“You’ve told your parents?” Jay asked.

“Well, I mean, yeah...” I said, looking away from him. “We’ve been together for 8 months and I figured that it was the right time.”

Jay stayed silent, processing what I had just said.

“If you don’t want to go, I can reschedule,” I explained quickly. “I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”

Jay cut off my rambling by pressing his lips to mine. Once he pulled away, he pulled me closer to him and rested his forehead against mine.

“I would love to meet your parents, love,”
