So, here's... EA's NPC penguin as a buyable plush toy for your Sims' kids! <3

And no, don't worry, downloading these won't mess up your game files, lol! Actually, you don't even need The Sims 2 Seasons EP for these penguins toys to work. They're fully base game compatible!

It comes in 4 different recolors (Default - Baby Penguin - Albino Penguin - African Penguin) and can be found in Buy Mode in the Kids section, costing §49.. just like the regular teddy bear/bunny.

Updated Resource List: UI Edition (Updated 11/10/24)

This is all the mods in my downloads folder that changes the game UI and makes it look better on modern display, removes annoyances etc. My old resource list only listed 3 which have since been replaced.

I play on a 2k monitor with the game set to 1080p with the default UI because I like the nostalgic look.

If you use cleanUI by @greatcheesecakepersona, then many of the widescreen fixes are already included! Many of these also have an alternative version made for cleanUI.

Loading screen replacement:

UC loading screen by @eddysims replace the Fun With Pets logo and removes idle M&G sims on select menu (I use an older version to match the Super Collection for mac, but have combined with this to remove the idle sims).

UC startup strings by @simsllama replace the M&G text strings while loading to fit Ultimate Collection.

M&G to UC program name replacement (MTS) changes the program name to say Ultimate Collection on taskbar, when closing the game and in credits. I use the old original Sims 2 icon in start menu.

Removed or disabled buttons:

No delete button in Sim Bin by Chris Hatch avoid accidentially deleting a family in the neighborhood.

No delete button in Buy/Build mode by Chris Hatch. I prefer to delete cc in the downloads folder instead.

Edited No useless town buttons by ePSYlord. Removes the AL, FT and Pets buttons from upper select menu in hood view. It also disables Custom Content Browser button to the old sims2 webpage, the camera and video buttons which I never use but always accidentially click.

Removed Auto Login button by ePSYlord. Removes the redundant option in settings.

No delete button in CAS, edited More Columns in CAS by ePSYlord. This is an edit of Chris Hatch's ui mod (cas300Extra) that adds the columns while also removing delete button from all categories. I had difficulty getting it to work for me, but managed after changing load order and removing specific cc hairs.

Remove hood popup dialog box reoploaded on MATY. No more nagging to add subhoods when entering a neighborhood.

Visual annoyances begone:

No CC icon in CAS (MTS) hides the star on custom content.

No pause frame by @simnopke removes the red frame from live, buy and build mode.

Add store icon to CAS by @jawusa. Restore the TS2 Store Edition icon on store content which can all be found here.

Widescreen fixes:

Wider change appearance by Chris Hatch.

Wider buy/plan outfits by Chris Hatch.

Wider family tree by SixAM!

Wider design tool by @lamare-sims.

Wider collections by Chris Hatch.

Menu fixes or addons:

Subhood selection by Mootilda changes menu from big button to list of selections instead. Useful if playing with multiple subhoods.

Select your cemetery (MTS) adds dialog box to move tombstones if all sims on a lot die.

Baby Last Name Chooser by @midgethetree adds dialog box to choose a baby's last name when born.

Marriage Last Name Chooser (MTS) adds dialog box to choose last name after sims gets married.

Misc. UI changes:

Clearer need bars by simnopke. It just looks nicer.

Season icons in color (MTS). Replace the blue with colorful icons.

LTW icons fixed by Lamare. Resizes the Life Time Wants icons to be consistent.

I think that was everything concerning the user interface in my game. A lot more than anticipated and most added in the last year or so. My game looks so nice now!

A Stars (Hollow) is Born

So my trip down nostalgia lane coincided with the promise of Autumn (Fall for the Americans out there) back in lagte August and Autumn always brings me indoors as soon as the days start growing shorter and onto the sofa with my favourite cosy shows. This year it is Gilmore Girls.

Subsequently I have become determined to have a Star's Hollow in my game. I've seen a few tumblrs that have shown some really great versions, alas nothing to download (and I kind od understand why now, my CC folder has grown exponentially since starting this town!) which has lead me down the route of creating my own town.

I found a great map on Mod the Sims by Jawusa called Azalea Acres that was created for small towns. What I love about this map is there can be a bustling little town centre and the roads offshoot one going toward the "North" and the other "South" over a bridge. This allows for Star's Hollow to be in the bustling hub and I can create a small portion of "Hartford" where Richard and Emily Gilmore's house is as well as Dragonfly Inn can be just outside of the mane part of Star's Hollow.

I am a notoriously terrible builder because I lack the patience and technical skills for it but do appreciate decorating, so hopefully one can forgive my terrible building skills! Or watch as it *hopefully* improves. Nonetheless hopefully others will gain some level of inspiration to make their own amazing Star's Hollow builds!

This ain't your grandma's uberhood.

...because it's the third time I've tried to tell this story and i don't want to get overwhelmed again.

I'm playing a Sims 2 megahood, mostly focusing on an edited Strangetown, but with most of the Maxis premades, and a few added quirks.

I'm not adding Belladonna Cove, because I'm not a masochist. I'm not adding Riverblossom Hills, because most of it bores me. (I might change my mind about this and add Jules O'Mackey and the Roths...) I'd love to add Douglasville and Arkhelios, because they fit the vibes, but neither of them seems to have a subhood version :(

STORY

I want to at least start the story low-stakes and work up to the harder, more emotionally hefty stuff. Part of the reason I've been struggling so hard with the Uberhood is that writing... like... the Grunts... is a challenge.

This is why the first couple chapters center mostly around lone weirdoes who don't have any ties to a grander story. I want to introduce some metaplot eventually, but I want to do it slowly.

The way I tell this story is heavily influenced by @simhealing's Uberhood, and I probably borrowed a bunch of headcanons from her without realizing. If you like what I'm doing here, go check her out.

Most of the CC I use is from @withlovefromsimtown , @whattheskell/@ts2repositoryproject , @platinumaspiration and/or @lordcrumps. I'm WCIF friendly, but if you see something and you don't know what it is, the odds are that it's from one of those four creators.

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

Well, I do like for my Sims to grow old, so Hula zombie death of old age. Although I have a soft spot for drowning (not so much for the ghosts, though).

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Maxis Match! Although I'm slowly moving away from Super Maxis Match to a more grungy Maxis Match aesthetic.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

Nah, they'll have to work it off on their own.

4. Do you use move objects?

All the frigging time. It's an essential cheat for me.

5. Favorite mod?

Uuuum... all of them? I guess I'm pretty fond of ACR/ Romantic Standards for how they overhaul romance in the game.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

Nightlife. And let me tell you, I lived for those fugly outfits!

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

aLIVE as in "We're live!" LIVing doesn't make sense to my non-English brain.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Phew... Probably Galatea? She's just a funky little alien mechanic and I love her!

9. Have you made a simself?

Yeah, when I was a kid. Usually married her to whomever I thought I was crushing on at the moment.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

Somewhat sloppy-ish, somewhere in the middle betwenn shy and outgoing, lazy, playful and nice.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

I like the red. It's so vibrant. Don't like how inconsistent it is throughout the catalogue.

12. Favorite EA hair?

The long wavy basegame hairstyle. Fuzzylongcp it is called.

13. Favorite life stage?

I like all of them, but the adult lifestage just has the most opportunities.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Well, over the past few years I've been slowly inching towards builder, but above all I just want to tell stories. I'm a storyteller at heart.

Yeah! Jobs, Sims, whole neighbourhoods. I'm kind of all over the place.

I'm pretty happy with the game as it is. Maybe an architecture stuff pack which changes build mode a bit?

It's hard to limit it to just one, but apart from Nightlife (my first love!) I love Seasons for all that it brings to the game (weather, seasons, gardening, that kitchen...)

Okay I fixed it, I ran graphicsrules.sgr and saved my graphics settings in-game, and it seems to have helped.

So, I think what I'm going to do is run a mad science focused uberhood and grab CC as the characters and story demand. Here's what I'm doing:

Pleasantview - Main Street Apartment Condos - Part 1 (Dina-Nina and Don’s Condos)

Recommended placement:

Three lots united in one and transformed into apartments: 170 Main Street (Dina and Nina’s house), 150 Main Street (Don’s house) and 30 Lakeside Drive.

Notes: no upper deck for Calente’s and Lothario’s condos to make them compatible with apartments.

Completely cc free but contains two portals in the file as I made it a corner lot. You can install the lot without these portals using Clean Installer.

Built in a clean and empty Pleasantview with missing strings restored by Jawusa and Lowedeus.

No cc, requires Ultimate Collection or all EP’s/SP’s. Has a custom thumbnail.

EARLY ACCESS - Willow Creek (TS2)

Version 0.1 of 4t2 Willow Creek.

Before you download:

This is an early testing version. A list of known bugs is written Here!

Please read this before reporting any bugs or feedback to me in private messages, chances are someone has reported it.

If your game is not in US-English all names will be randomised. If your game is the Ultimate Collection and you play in English, you are already using US-English. It will be the first thing fixed for version 0.2, but it’s time consuming.

Edit: Problems with non-US English versions was fixed in version 2.0 and has been carried over to later versions.

Welcome to Willow Creek!

This is the first testing release of my Sims 4t2 Willow Creek. Every lot is in the game. The Pancakes, Goths, Spencer-Kim-Lewises and BFFs are in the game. Andre Da Silva and Lydia Spencer are in the game. Every Sim has a bio, the Pancakes’ marriage is failing and Travis is being wooed by two women.

There’s not much more to say, it’s Willow Creek in the Sims 2.

I think I told this story, didn't I? hehe, don't worry, I'll gladly tell you again: When I was 13 years old, my first pets were two guinea pigs (Beware of this fact: One of the Spanish names for guinea pigs is "Cobaya", and if you ask them, in Ecuador and Peru, guinea pigs are called "Cuyes", if in your country they have different names for guinea pigs, you can write it down here!), unfortunately, they passed away... Fairlake University- A University for Riverblossom Hills!

"Fairlake was founded in the 19th century to serve as a source of higher education to those living in the isolated hills. Small and lovely, this place has kept it's soul all the years" This is a custom university made for Riverblossom hills (although it could fit any rural hood), compromising of 15 lots (2 dorms, 5 residential lots and 8 community lots) and 11 characters (including some familiar names) across 4 households. Ok, first things first, my first ever url was the peasant simmer...I dunno why, I use to play the Sims medieval a lot and I just found a random name related to it. For now I changed to 'andrisims' which is the beginning of my name (who was very difficult for non Portuguese speakers to pronounce) and Sims for...Sims lol
