I just gave the entire SkyWing royal family names.

Now, at first glance, this doesn’t seem all that absurd. How many unnamed SkyWing royals could there possibly be? One prince? Two?

Well according to the wiki, Scarlet has three unnamed sisters, two unnamed sons, and eleven unnamed daughters.

So, I named them, because I’m just Like This™️.

Scarlet’s sisters: Aurum, Copper and Ember. The naming theme I went with was colors.

Her daughters: clears throat Tourmaline, Amethyst, Jasper, Citrine, Halite, Jadeite, Merlot, Mica, Rhodonite, Selenite and Spinel, all named for types of gems. I know that Tourmaline is technically canon, but… shhhhhhhhh

Her sons: Altitude and Cardinal. I didn’t give them a naming theme because her already named sons were Vermillion (a color) and Hawk (a bird).

Coming out of my cave to post art on here again

I'm trying ( heavy emphasis on trying 😭 ) to make designs for every arc 1 WoF character, and since mudwings are the easiest tribe for me to draw I started with clay and his siblings

Their shapes and stuff make sense in my head and have reasonings but I can't put them into words rghHHgdgGGRRRghhgfh

CHARACTERS; CLAY [ TOP LEFT ] , SORA [BOTTOM LEFT ] , UMBER [ TOP RIGHT ] , REED [ BOTTOM RIGHT ]

For Clay I wanted to make him simple, going along with him not thinking that he's anything special and not fit for the prophecy. He's still brighter than his sibs though, and has the brightest colored scales before his underbelly. (Do those have a name?? )

For Sora I wanted her kinda deer-like, with softer/less bold edges than the others. She has a scar in the same place Crane's death wound was.

For Umber I just stuck pretty closely to the canon design, adding some splotches and giving him a different shape than the others.

Finally, for Reed I just made him clay but duller, and more red. He nearly looks just like clay shape-wise, but is more inward. (I have no idea how to describe this 😭)

I had the most fun with these guys can u tell

For Marsh I made him more sharp and edgy than the others to go with his anxious personality. His colors are very similar to Clay's, but he has splotches and light colored horns. (I love Marsh, he's underappreciated)

For Pheasant I wanted to base her off of a pheasant. Her markings are similar to those of a ring-necked pheasant, with her reds being the same as Umber's. She originally had green-ish yellow on her to go with her eyes (and also because pheasants have green on them) but I couldn't get it to work. (crying spongebob image) Her shape is more 'elegant' than her sibs. I think her design is my favorite out of all of these.

For Crane I based her lightly off of a crane. (🤯🤯🤯) She shares colors with sora and umber. (Sora because obviously, Umber because I needed his reds 😁) since really all we know about her is that she was protective of her sibs (as literally all of them are) I made her fierce and determined looking. Version without her death wound below

I got more confident in not following the canon designs super closely the more designs I made and it shows 😭😭 I never realized how much variety you can make in mudwings despite them being the 'boring' ones

🧡Orange!🧡

I might start a little series of OC headshots sorted by their main colours 👀 I kinda just randomly picked Mango and Naikiri a few weeks ago when I just wanted to doodle some headshots. When I returned to these, I figured it would be neat to draw two more OCs that are orange and that gave me the idea for this little series I wanna work on!

Now to the featured OCs:

🐴 First one on the top left is Naikiri, a Pegasus mare I got from ChaosVuzi on Toyhouse. Naikiri is a just for fun character, meaning she probably won't get a storyline and randomly appeared on here from time to time.

🔥 Second we got Sol the Sunfirephoenix. He is the elemental beast and companion of the Sunlight Allmentaly. He will have a role in the later arcs of Allmentaly and will be joining the fight against Duca! I got this bean from niko_draws_too_much on Instagram

🐉 Third is my Sea/Silkwing hybrid Dragonfly. A lovely female dragon that roams the Silkwing kingdom. She will get her role in my WOF AU once I have read all books (alongside the rest of my WOF OCs!), meaning for now she will appear on my account from time to time till the story is completely plotted :3 I got her from Pizza skeleton on Toyhouse

🥭 And number 4 is the sweet Mango! This Rainwing was originally an adopt, but I ended up keeping him after a while. He is a messenger for the Rainwingforest who delivers lots of letters, packages or newsletters to the nearby hybrid colony (which is located between the Mudwing and Rainwing Kingdom). He has a cousin living in said colony and later on found his mate Jasper there as well.

For anyone wondering why I haven't posted in a while: My wrist pain has returned and left me unable to draw. My posting schedule might stay super delayed for a while, till I have some art in store for regular posting

HELP! I Need Name Ideas

Ok, so- I am (almost) completely revamping old WoF OCs of mine that I had when I was younger. One is a Sea/Night hybrid and the other is a Sand/Rain hybrid. The Sea/Night hybrid is older than the other.

What brought me to revamping these two specifically was their day/night dynamic for a song I’ve been listening to from Arcane, specifically “Ma Meilleure Ennemie”. If you know you know. But the idea of a character that is so connected to one celestial body (moon and sun) and they inevitably fall in love. Though, I guess it would be nice to get to know them more. Info will be under the cut

As a note: I don’t have a picture for the Sand/Rain hybrid. Though I will give a description to the best of my ability.

Sea/Night Hybrid

Ok, so, this one was originally named Starboard. His story was that he was cursed by an animus as an egg to see as far as his own death(s). It was from the Seawing side I believe? I don’t remember why. I am still keeping him Male in some way.

What I’m changing is that he was still cursed, but not with the same curse. He hatched under no moons, hence his very seawing appearance. Though, out of a need for perfection, his mother, a nightwing animus, turned him into a three moon hatched dragonet. He was hidden away, homeschooled by his mother and father. What the issue was is that the enchantment went a little haywire. What his mother didn’t understand is that forcing certain things onto a newly hatched dragon can cause certain side effects to happen.

When an animus forces certain traits that are circumstantial, it can primarily cause permanent pains, an over abundance/minimal amount of said ability, or even death if the hatchling isn’t strong enough.

This character has dealt with an over abundance of both mind reading and future sight. Though, the future sight is not as good as Clearsight’s. The mind reading caused constant migraines that would last for days. He wasn’t the only egg of his clutch, but the only one strong enough to live. Long story short, he learned of everything and he ran away. Never talking to either parent again and lives with a bit of survivor’s guilt as he left other siblings behind.

When making his way in the world, he learned how to suppress his abilities to have a decently normal life. His passion was dancing and singing. His aquatic was nonexistent since his glow scales are constantly shining, basically constantly screaming kind of glow.

He made a name for himself in Possibility. He was a dancer for festivals that were calling forth the moon since he sees himself as sort of the embodiment of the moons. He is definitely a bit cocky, but not in an arrogant way. In a confident and “I know myself way too well to doubt myself way.” Which can lead to a major crash if he fails to uphold something he was confident he could do.

Though, he has still found a way to love himself, flaws and all.

I’ve been thinking about the names Stormbringer, Stormdancer, or Raindancer. Though, I’m not too sure.

Sand/Rain Hybrid

So this character was originally named Jasper and looked almost a lot different. I surprisingly don’t have a lot of info on him because he was my last WoFsona before Wolfsbane. So basically he doesn’t have anything to really go off of. Though here’s some ideas of what he’s about. He is probably going to end up as some flavor of masc nonbinary as I really wanted to use they for the pronouns.

Onto some loose thoughts. I was thinking that He wasn’t really cared for much as a dragonet. Kinda think about it as a mix of both unrestricted internet access had a baby with the unrestricted freedom of the 80’s and 90’s. So sort of neglected all around for the most part? Though, emotions were kind of very looked down upon since his rainwing parents hatched without the ability to change colors. So they toughened up to hide the pain they felt that they were different.

They were raised in a multigenerational household with numerous siblings added to the mix They’re also the oldest and is typically being ogled in jealousy at by his mother, the rainwing, as his blue coloration seems to change colors when intense emotions arise. They can kind of control it, but it’s not easy.

This character went to Possibility to get away from the oasis near the Jungle that their family lived near. He constantly wears a guard like piece of jewelry on his tail as it is filled with an acidic poison. He’s a bit trigger happy with it when pushed to anger. Otherwise he’s a softy.

Now, he tends to work odd jobs between commission work. He’s an artist and tends to work primarily with stone cutting and gem carving. He tends to enjoy seeing the Sea/Night hybrid’s dances as he enjoys the symbolism of the moon in writings.

I was contemplating names, but Jericho, referring to the rose of Jericho, was the only name I really liked. With the cute little nickname of Rose to once again referring back to the plant.

Conclusion

Title is mostly just to separate from everything else. Anyway, so, feel free to suggest as I honestly have no clue what to name either of them. Especially with naming conventions being taken into account. Feel free to reblog, comment or send a suggestion in the ask box. I’m just needing help with the name

WoF x TWST

the prologue’s prologue. (Aka what Yuu’s doing before getting yoinked)

Ah minor content warning! Very mild depiction of violence (dragon getting stabbed no blood or anything and it’s not described in detail, but just gonna warn you that it’s there)

     The teen ran. Vaulting over a wall, stumbling a bit they rolled to ground themself again. They jumped, pulling themselves up over a wall, and landed on their feet with a thump! 

     “Done!” They called out between pants, before brushing some pink hair out of their face.

     “Two minutes exactly! That’s your best time yet, Yuu!” A tall blond called to them with a smile, waving a stopwatch above his head.

     Yuu’s face contorted into a wary lopsided smile, “I just- wish it was a little faster. You know?”

     “And how do you expect to go faster?” The blond frowned, letting his arm drop.

     They bit the inside of their cheek, “Well, my wall jumping might have been a little sloppy, and I had to catch myself with a roll at one point. Maybe I should practice it a little more-“

     “OR,” the blond interrupted, “you could take a break. You’ve been doing the same parkour- thing, for hours! Aren’t you tired? Or board?” He poked Yuu between the eyes, “besides, you just got back from caving. You need a BRAKE!”

     “Jasper!” Yuu huffed, smacking away their friend’s hand, “one, don’t do that. And two, I’m fine!” They were, at least mostly fine. Yuu would be lying if they said they weren’t at least a little sore. 

     He just shook his head and sighed. “Whatever, Yuu. I’m going to go get something to drink at the fast food joint down the road, will you at least come with me and get water?”

     Yuu smirked, “You wound me my friend, I always have plenty of water!” Proudly they walked over to a (rather plain) black backpack and pulled out a large water bottle. And to emphasize their point, the teen proceeded to pour some water on top of their head. “EEP! That’s still cold!”

     “Pfff, suffer,” Jasper snarked, earning a glare from Yuu. “Well, I’m going to get water and find a bite probably. Watching you made me hungry, too”.

     “Yea, yea. Be gone with yee already! Leave the stopwatch though, I'd like to keep using it,” The pink haired teen demanded.

     “Yea, no. Maybe it’ll force you to take a break,” with that Jasper stuffed the device into his pocket and took off.

     “Hey! Common no fair!” Yuu yelled after him, although they made no move to run after. The longer they just stood around the more the aching soreness, possibly due to overworking their body with little to no brakes, caused. They sighed, running a hand through their now cold and wet hair. Gold-silver eyes wandered across the street, opposite to where Jasper had run off.

     A gas station sat just across the road. They bit the inside of their cheek again. It wouldn’t kill them to take a breather and maybe eat something too. Besides, Jasper would be gone for at least an hour. Likely in hopes Yuu would take a break with their now frustrating lack of a stopwatch. Especially with their unwillingness to use their phone and risk breaking the damn thing. They rubbed at their face, not wanting to move. But the idea of nabbing a candy bar was slowly winning.

     Before they knew it they found themselves crossing the road. Their mind too preoccupied by debating between what candy bar they should get, to notice the galloping of hooves getting closer, or the ground shaking as the sound grew louder. Up until a loud winny finally made them look over. Only to see black carriage pulled by black horses, both of which completely dwarfed Yuu with their size, barreling towards them. 

     For a moment, a very terrifying moment at that, the teen’s legs would. Not. Move. As they watched the impossibly sized horses pulling an equally impossibly sized carriage get ever closer, and it didn’t seem intent on stopping. Finally, however, flight or fight kicked them into motion as they regained motor control and dived towards the sidewalk. Yuu’s frantic movements causing them to land roughly on their side before passing out.

     It was dark. Hell, Yuu would argue that it was darker than dark, if that was possible. They couldn’t see their own hand in front of their face. The teen sat up, or attempted to. Yuu felt like they’d been suspended in midair, weightless and helpless. The stamping of hooves lightly echoed around them. And for a moment they wondered if they’d died.

     “Beware the tainted hearts. Beware the darkened stones,” the sound of someone’s voice echoed, making Yuu look around frantically. Nearly missing the moment the darkness faded to a colorless rose garden, then a savanna, then to under the sea, to a desert, to a castle, to somewhere underground, and lastly to thorns covering something. 

     “Time is short, his powers unknown,” it continued, as the thorns faded, instead replaced by the silhouette of some large cat-like thing. Or, at least it looked cat-like to Yuu, besides what maybe looked like a fire mane and some other odd feature they couldn’t quite pinpoint with it being a shadow and all. Especially as the image flickered as if it was being projected.

     “They’re coming to take the beast, they’re coming to take the land”. Ropes pined the creature down, playing slowly like a slideshow. Before the scene changed to a forest fire, with something that resembled a castle burning further back.

     “Tribes will fall to bloodied steel,” the image flickered, morphing into something that resembled something from medieval times. A dragon silhouette, the beast reared up in pain, with a sword piercing its neck. Yuu’s body moved on its own as they took a step forward and reached out-

     “Unless the tamer takes their hand-“ they said alongside the voice. The images faded, darkness consumed them again, as gravity pulled them down. And Yuu collapsed.

Do you have any voice headcannons for your shade of scales characters?

this is an amazing question. sos takes place in Naarm / Melbourne Australia, so a lot of characters have Australian accents which isn't overly common for a lot of voice head canon videos/etc (there are lots of characters from different backgrounds as well, and most have semi-Australian accent mixed with where they are from, but some do not - it is hard to find good voices as most are American and it is very much NOT an american story - something that I'm very into making sure that my characters and story isn't American and isn't adjusted to be easier for US default ism). so im just going to go over some common voice actors / descriptions and say "they're kinda like this" and give some mannerisms I use in the text! Emily: soft, very shy voice but has some confidence. so thinking characters like Glimmer from Shera or Horse from Centaurworld. Generally speaks with full words and doesn't like to shorten words. Katrina: Talks very fast, in short spurts and rambles easily. Vi from Arcane could work but not quite? She's really hard. I was inspired a lot by Peril from WOF when writing her so probably similar to Peril HCs. Jasper: Soft, kind male protagonist archetype with his voice. Thinking of how people might hc Clay from WOF or Alderheart from Warrior Cats. Hayden: Hayden's very much a typical "angsty" male protag type. So any characters that are similar to that kind of voice (think Zuko, Flame & Winter from WOF, and characters like that). Talks very fast. Hyeon: Hyeon's the character I very explicitly describe their voice multiple times. Its very raspy and almost dragon like as they can't shift between forms properly, so their voice is kind of "stuck". They don't speak much and when they do it sounds more formal than you'd expect. Other side characters that I have some info on:

Roxanne: Any character that's associated with Queen Scarlet from wof is kind of almost there? Also Marina (the music artist) as a lot of her songs are Roxanne's theme songs and I made her while listening to a lot of that kind of music. Very sly, very controlled voice. She doesn't lose her composure often so Sen: I havent' posted much stuff on her here yet but she defs has a very typical soft motherly voice, an actual nice mother who cares deeply for others.she would have a fairly heavy South Indian accent as she grew up there then moved to Australia.

also as a side note, the characters in SOS would probably have heavier australian accents than modern australian accents due to that the timeline of sos diverts in 2000, so less american tv and culture could influence accents.

I don't think I've posted him yet! This is a WIP of my WOF OC, Puff! He's a rainwing x seawing hybrid that lives on the coast of the rainforest and likes to hunt in the shallows! His lights change color depending on his mood like a cuttlefish, thanks to his rainwing heritage! His scales can change color too, but only in shades of purple. He prefers to express himself through his lights! He is an animus as well, thanks to his seawing heritage, and his soul is protected by his jewelry!

Is this an excuse to make Puff the Magic Dragon and OC? Yes. Do I have a whole winglet of hybrid OCs that I will be drawing soon? Also yes.

Coming soon is Aurora (nightwing x rainwing x seawing), Jasper (sandwing x mudwing x icewing), Magpie (skywing x rainwing), and the twins, Barracuda and Bullshark (seawing x sandwing x nightwing, Bull is deaf)

1. So I currently have two requests sitting in my inbox and @howdoiwork and moon anon I will get to your requests but I have an essay / report that I was supposed to turn in today but I don't have it done so I have to turn it in late and I haven't even started it yet (as of posting this) so I do promise to work on your requests as soon as possible but it might take me like two days

2. Also if you guys request anything from 12:00am - 04:00pm edt / est I won't be able to get to it as soon as other requests (because I am still in school and I can't exactly write fanfics during school cause people are looking over my shoulder every two minutes.

I’m mixing a bunch of different species from different series (HTTYD, WOF, hell, put in some FR dragons) and none of the normal lore is here.

I have a few ideas tho:

The Diamonds are at the top, they’re not any specific species, more like...just...imagine Steven’s corrupted form (but the one I use, the walks-on-four legs one with wings and the intro colors) but sorta change a bit to fit each Diamond. Steven himself is just his form from the AU.

It’s a huge world, like, all kinds of biomes and landscapes, everyone has their own territory, but they can visit each other if they’re on good terms.

When your superiors are way larger and more powerful than you, you heed their rules. If a Diamond Dragon shrieks for a meeting, your ass better get over there quick.

Some things still apply: -The wrights being furies, except now they’re full and not half, with Jasper, Holly, Bluebird, and the curly haired lapis being part of their ‘pack’. -Kipo, Luz, and the rest of the gang are still pals

The grumpuses are just big ol’ floofy dragons, debating on having them be Gaolers or something similar. The entire Snaxburg crew is one whole pack.

Are the ponies dragons? Nope! Still ponies, just not living in houses anymore. 

Why do I want Zuke to be a Seawing. Why does that fit him.
