xTAL fSCK installed OCRtichoke at the Lafayette Electronic Art Festival
I’m not exactly sure what happened but I think Jon Satrom (half of xTAL fSCK) took the text out from the OCRtichoke score along with a processed version of Jason Soliday’s (the other half of xTAL fSCK) recording of the piece and made a website out of it which was then somehow involved in an installation for a very long screen at the Lafayette Electronic Art festival in Colorado?
I’m trying to see if I can get the video for this...

OCRtichoke by xTAL fSCK
It took less than 17 hours for two of my favorite chicago artists and amazing humans (Jason Soliday and Jon Satrom) to premiere OCRtichoke.
I posted the full score here at 12:42am on 9/2 and by 5pm that day they had done a fantastic job, turning a curiosity into something really happy with. I couldn’t have hoped for a better rendition.
You can listen to the 18:55 long track on the Crank Satori bandcamp:
https://cranksatori.bandcamp.com/album/ocrtichoke-in-dual-mono
About Jason and Jon:
Jason Soliday (https://jsoliday.tumblr.com/) is one of my favorites / a long time Chicago noise music artist, who put in 17 years of service running the DIY space Enemy. He has a prolific output, and I’m particularly fond of https://cranksatori.bandcamp.com/album/convolution-hive (but you should listen to all of his work...)
Jon Satrom (http://jonsatrom.com/) is, to me, perhaps the best video / digital glitch artist I know. I’m especially into his coding projects, like http://jonsatrom.com/---/crumbarf/ or http://jonsatrom.com/satromizer/, although that’s mostly because I forgot to ask about his old hardware projects last time we chatted.
xTAL fSCK has existed as a collaboration between the two of them since 2010. An archive of some of their work is available here: https://xtal-fsck.tumblr.com/. Their latest project is (I think) the community-powered “circuit bent karaoke” website I remember singing into a few months back: http://xtalfsck.com/
This was my previous post so it shouldn’t have been hard to find even if I didn’t link to it, but you can find the details / score for OCRtichoke here: https://redthunderaudio.com/post/187434449707/ocrtichoke

JSoliday - Fragment
Few days ago, Jason Soliday, sound artist based in Chicago released his last sound work “Fragment Fourteen”. Part of the serie “Fragment”.
We liked how each “fragment” is exploring in depth the realm of modular synthesizers and is offering different interpretations of their mystical unpredictability ..
