I guess a special place in my heart goes to either Titanic or Anastasia AU's. Like, they are Jarida coded you know.

Had an idea once that Jack met Merida but for some reason he had to take on the form of an artic fox to be seen by every day people even in Merida's time.

That it was time travel that brought him to be stuck in 10th century Scotland in the first place. Merida knows he is a winter spirit and Queen Elinor is actually very cautious around Jack because his season is related to being Unseelie fairy. So Jack and Merida have a more cautious meeting, particularly from Merida's perspective. Jack doesn't like people being uneasy by his presence. So him and Merida have a rough start becoming friends.

Later Merida's people start a rumor that she has magic and is a witch and Jack is her familiar. Doesn't help that she did turn her mother into a bear, even if she didn't make the cake.

So it is just a bunch of shenanigans from there.

Day #23 - A crazy love triangle/quadrilateral that worked out greatly?

So, I personally don’t like every single corner of this quadrilateral, but I can see where it works out very sweetly. A few years back, “The Big Four” were created. These four figures are Merida from Brave, Rapunzel from Tangled, Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, and Hiccup Haddock from How To Train Your Dragon. Together, they formed the “Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons” fandom.

Now, I’ve seen all four of these figures paired with each other; I like a few of them, but not all of them. They seem popular though, so that’s why I think it works.

The different ships are Mericcup, Jackunzel, Jerida, Hiccunzel, Merunzel, and Hijack.

Now, here’s where I don’t agree with all the patterns of the quadrilateral. I love Rapunzel with Eugene Fitzherbert, and I love Hiccup with Astrid; those are their true loves. Now, if their real love interests didn’t exist, I would be fully down with shipping them within the square. Of all the ships within the square though, I do enjoy 3 of them. I’ve ranked them from #1 to #3 in how much I like them.

1. Merricup (Merida x Hiccup)

I do love these two together. Merida actually reminds me a bit of Astrid, so I could see her teasing Hiccup like Astrid does already. I also love the fact that their worlds look like they could be in the same universe where they might be living around the same time frame. I’ve seen lots of people write stories about how Hiccup becomes one of Merida’s suitors competing for her hand, and I love it! I do love that Merida is independent? But I could see her cheering on Hiccup silently from the stands to win. I’m sure she’d love flying on Toothless with Hiccup, and he’d enjoy learning archery from her.

2. Jarida (Jack Frost x Merida)

The reason I love this one is because of I imagine these two would be constant flirts with each other. She is the fire while he is the ice. This goes back to my love for how opposites attract. I picture Jack being a constant tease/flirt with Merida, and she would be annoyed by it for a while till she gives in and teases/flirts back with him. I could imagine them being a modern couple who has nerf gun fights when one comes home.

3. Jackunzel (Jack Frost x Rapunzel)

I do think this ship is sweet in that it’s somewhat similar to Eugene and Rapunzel; he’s a rouge that doesn’t want to be tied down, and she’s a naive sheltered girl who wants to see the world. She could be a light in his life, while he can open her eyes to all sorts of things the world has to offer. I’ve seen cute fanart of them here and there, so I like it every once in a while.

ROTBTD - Ralph Breaks the Internet Verse - Exploring Elder Scrolls Online Adventure

Disney and Dreamworks are competitors, so when our two Dreamworks boys and Disney princesses hangout. It is always in secret. Rapunzel and Merida know Mickey would not be happy if he knew about the friendship.

When Elsa and Anna first heard about them sneaking out to meet their friends, they discussed with each other about sneaking out and meeting new people as well. They joined Merida and Rapunzel in meeting their friends.

They met Hiccup, Astrid and Jack at an Inn in Elderscolls Online, a little walk from the entrance to the game. Merida and Rapunzel provided Anna and Elsa with in game clothes, so they would blend better with the NPC's of the game. They don't want to attract attention to themselves from fans of themselves.

While over dinner at the Inn, Anna and Elsa learn about how Merida and Rapunzel met Jack and Hiccup. How the friendship started and why. They also learn about different adventures they had together. Their next adventure is to explore Elder Scrolls Online more but know that lingering in a game could be dangerous. You could die for real in a code you don't belong to, as they were not created by Elder Scolls. It was discussed if they would be a party and do some in game quests.

Hello Everyone!

Since many folks responded to a post I made, I'm gonna go ahead and host our very own 2022 RotBTD Gift Exchange! :D

What is a gift exchange? Basically it's a digital secret santa, near the beginning of the month everyone will receive an assignment to make a gift for someone else, then near the end of the month everyone will reveal their gifts from one another! It's a lot of fun and a wonderful way to get to know some folks in the fandom!

Thoughts on Ships, Jarida

This is a ship I can see potential in. Jack and Merida would start out on a rocky beginning just meeting each other and mainly I believe it is because she is human and Jack Frost is a spirit of winter. Once they got over that difference and began a genuine friendship, their relationship as a potential couple would also begin slowly.

Even in a friend group of the creation of the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons, I can see Merida and Jack being particularly close in a way special to them even among both Hiccup and Rapunzel. (Though every friend has a special and different friendship among their peers. Like my HC that Jack and Hiccup are more like bromances because in cannon they are not gay, which would have an effect on their relationship as friends)

Merida does know what a healthy relationship looks like from observing her parents. In one of Merida’s spin off chapter books, there was a brief description about how her parents were not just King and Queen but best friends.

 So I would believe that Merida would want a relationship similar to her parents. One in which she already has a strong close emotional relationship to her significant other. Being randomly married off can add scariness because you are marrying someone who is a complete stranger. Queen Elinor was lucky she was able to get that kind of relationship with Fergus, but being randomly married off could also mean you may grow to loath your partner or are not remotely attracted to them. As friends I can already see Jack Frost and Merida being close, who mess with each other. Merida’s fiery disposition against Jack’s cool one. How they would be romantically perhaps wouldn’t change to how their friendship would be, except with some hand holding and romantic aspects tossed in. What I take the most fascinating of this ship is that we have a human and a winter spirit.

Magic

I really think that Merida would be more cautious when her and Jack would meet for the first time. Jack would see Merida as Merida, a fiery human. Merida would just see a magical winter spirit and would not see Jack as Jack until she learned he was not dangerous. I believe this is because of Queen Elinor who believes in magic and would of told her about the unseelie court. In personality Jack Frost is more seelie but his magic being that of winter, a very harsh season would be associated with unseelie. (I always take it funny with my idea of Jack taking a form of a fox because if he told Merida he doesn’t typically look like a fox. Her brain would go towards unseelie and that Jack would look like a scary icicle person. Then she sees what he actually looks like and goes, shoot he’s cute.)

With Merida as a human and Jack as a spirit of winter, I do think it be an effect on their relationship either in friendship or relationship. In a scenario of either Dark Frost or if Jack just has a complete mental break down and his magic got out of control. Merida would find herself out of any other character, finding it hard to get close to get through to him. Rapunzel has magic, Hiccup has access to a magical creature and even Elsa has her own winter magic. Merida is just human with no magical resources. I think she would find herself feeling very useless and would be hunched over a fire taking shelter with Anna while the others try to get close to Jack. Also it be difficult with knowing she’d age but Jack would stay the same. That be difficult for the two of them romantically. Jack couldn’t become her King but could always remain a friend but if it led to a brake up because of magic, it be pretty difficult time for the two of them. Merida would still have to be Queen and would have to pick one of the lords sons, hopefully her choice is patient with her for her breakup with a spirit and she gets another shot at a close and loving relationship.

I like Jarida because it is a relationship that I could see happening. They would be great friends with potential of being a couple but because of Jack’s magical nature as a spirit it would force a eventual break up due to Merida’s duties of future Queen. It be a relationship of high’s and lows ending with real feels towards the end.
