[Mia] They're adorable, aren't they? What dish are you looking forward to the most, Sofia?
[Carlo] Nothing in particular catches my attention, thanks for asking.

(5.) [Andrea] Chef Alex, tell me, how is it going over here?
[Alex] Great. My potatoes are boiling and I'll make sure to season them well once they're done. Also, I'm sauteing the merguez sausages and keeping a close eye on them.
(6.) [Alex] Andrea is nice and welcoming. I like her a lot.
(7.) [Lewis] It's smooth sailing over here! My vinaigrette is just how I want it to be. I'll get everything else done in a jiffy, except for my croutons. I don't want 'em to get stale.
(8.) [Andrea] Chef Dulce, how are you doing, sweetie?
(9.) [Dulce] It's going really well. I put a lot of thought into the amount of all the ingredients I'm using. Everything needs to complement each other.
(10.) [Rubiya] I couldn't be happier with how my spaghetti is turning out. I drained the pasta when it was still a little undercooked because it's going to keep cooking as I mix in the sauce and other ingredients. I want the texture and flavors to be perfect.
(11.) [Mia] Chefs, you have 5 minutes left on the timer! Make sure you start plating now if you haven't yet.
(12.) [Rubiya] I'm cutting it a bit close, but I got this!
(13.) [Sofia] Chef Alex seems like they're about done. I like their plating.
[Mia] Oh no, I'm concerned about Chef Lewis.

(15.) [Lewis] Okay, looks like you CAN mess up a salad. My croutons didn't have that nice golden brown color yet, and with the time running out, I decided to turn up the heat a little. Big mistake. I have burnt croutons now.

just sent an email with the subject line "suspicious shakshuka"
#sasha speaks#i bought a trio of sauces from a moroccan stand at the farmers market this weekend. harissa tomato eggplant and shakshuka#the shakshuka is like a jar of simmered veggies you can heat in a pan and add eggs to and have an easy meal ready#on inspection today the other two jars seem fine but the shakshuka jar seemed. Off.#there was liquid on the outside and it seemed bubbly and bulging. and when i cracked the lid open gas escaped like a bottle of soda#and it is indeed bubbly. smells fermented too. like kimchi#but not visibly or. olfactorally. spoiled. like no mold growth or rancid smell#point being i'm not sure if it's safe to eat? i don't know if it's Supposed to be like that or not#fermented veg is typically safe yeah esp when it's cooked and i would cook this anyway. but i don't know if this is Supposed to be fermented#and therefore. properly and safely fermented#anyway i emailed the seller to ask if this is normal and if it's not if i could replace the jar

hhhhhh just made a shakshuka that's like sgdgfhfhjf uova in paradiso damn
#cheated a lil bc i had a jar of roasted peppers#but basically used the recipe from seriouseats as a vibe and then went off#my tomatoes were too bitter so I put in a bare drizzle of balsamic to balance#and i used a lil ras el hanout toasted while getting color on the onion#oh my.#anyway made the sauce so that I can portion it out into ramekins with one egg to make on demand#incredibly sexy of me actually#all over a rly nice thick slice of sourdough wow yes baby

my go to pasta recipe always includes tomatoes simply because you cant grow pesto in your backyard and cream sauces are unappealing to me in a ive been around enough babies that havent been weaned off milk yet to know what milk only puke looks like and it looks like cream sauce way.
#we keep big jars of vodka sauce in the pantry thats my go to but sometimes we dont have it so i cut up some tomatoes n cook em#and pour some milk in boom tomato sauce for your spaghetti.#we also keep big bags of party meatballs from trader joes in the freezer so i pour some of those in there
