WORLD-BUILDING SERIES #2 DOMINO - PART 1
I had the most fun making up my own version of Domino. This is what I've been using as a backdrop for every thing I create in the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe. I've been working on this for many years and now I feel confident enough to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it!
童実野市 (DOMINO-SHI)
Kanji: 童 -> child; 実 -> seed, fruit; 野 -> area, field. It can be translated as 'The place of young seeds'.
Throughout Japan and to the people living in the city, Domino is also known as 'the city of chances'.
Domino is part of a larger area, the Autonomous Prefecture of Domino, 'DOMINO JICHI KEN' -> 童実野 • 自治県
One of the hardest parts was to choose a place in Japan without altering the existing boundaries too much. At first I thought it could have been anywere close to Tokyo, actually be a part of Tokyo itself but I wasn't happy with it. I wanted more, I wanted a place that was thriving on its own without the influence of the Capital. Takahashi-sensei, when he introduced Domino, wrote that Domino is 'a place that could be anywhere'. So I started studing the map of Japan, the existing Prefectures. One thing I knew for sure was that I needed a place close to the water, enclosed in a bay. After many trials I finally found the place i was looking for.
I settled for a place that was midway between Tokyo and Osaka, it is far enough from the other big cities and in a setting that could have allowed it to grow into the metropolis that was introduced to us. The place is in a part of the real Aichi Prefecture on Mikawa Bay, in a land that covers the real Higashi (East) Miwaka region on the Tokaido line, surrounded by mountains, where the actual cities of Toyohashi, Toyokawa, Gamagori, Tahara, Shinshiro and part of Shizuoka Prefecture (Kosai) are.
Below is a geographical map with the boundaries of Domino-ken on Domino Bay.
Some facts about Domino-ken.
Area: 1256.83 km² (total) - 631.6 km² (habitable) Population: 5,225,538 Density: 4,100/km² Prefectural tree: Japanese cypress. Prefectural flower: Japanese gentian. Prefectural bird: Kentish plover.
This is a closer look at Domino-ken and its subdivisions.
A thing where I definately distanced myself from the manga canon is that in original, Domino has the attribute of "town" with the kanji 町 read as 'cho'. This denomination is used in the context of small municipalities, whereas for bigger cities it's used the term "city" with the kanji 市, read as 'shi'. Because i wanted Domino to be a big city comparabale to Osaka or Nagoya, I had to 'upgrade' it from Domino-cho to Domino-shi.
Domino-ken is divided into 5 cities. Domino-shi 童実野市 Genkai-shi 玄海市 (city of the border) Kozaki-shi 神崎市 (divine promontory) Shimohara-shi 下原市 (lower field) Moriyama-shi 森山市 (forest mountain)
Domino-shi is divided into 23 wards.
Coming up with the names of the wards was tough but also a lot of fun. This is extremely useful for me to help me give more context to the events that I write. In the next entries i will talk more about the single wards. For now here is a table that sums them up.
Finally, this is the Prefectural Flag of Domino-ken.
The emblem of the flag is made of the katakana letters: 'to' ト, 'mi' ミ and 'no' ノ, made to look like a domino tile with the number 7 which is a symbol of luck.
I had lots of fun designing this. Of course, I'm not a designer so you'll probably notice a lot of mistakes but I'm so proud of the concept I created and how I executed it. Really I'm pouring my blood and soul into Domino Blues and I don't regret it a little!
This is all for now. Thank you for reading this, I hope it was interesting to you as it was exciting for me to come up with all of this. I'll post more things in the future about my world-building if you'd like to know more behind-the-scene content for my projects. Believe me, there's a lot more!

hello ! hru ? plz if you dont mind nanami, megumi, yuji and toge with a kind and shy, very beautiful russian s/o who has long soft light blond hair (almost like platinum), a very pale skin with rare eyes ( like purple eyes), (she's young studing with itadori and others) thank you ^^💜.
Sure! I hope you'll like it ~ 💜
Characters: Itadori Yuji, Nanami Kento, Fushiguro Megumi and Inumaki Toge + Nobara Kugisaki as a side character.
Warnings: None
Synopsis: Kind, shy, beautiful transfer student (do you mind if I add that in?), from Russia, makes friends with the most chaotic bunch of Jujutsu Tech students + Nanami.
Being the gorgeous, yet shy blonde you had always been, in Russia and even more in Japan, you were always conscious of the stares you received everywhere you went. It was even more scary to you in Japan, not knowing what the mutters around you meant, not knowing whether they were of judgement or praise. The minute you stepped into Jujutsu Tech, the minute you heard a familiar voice speaking in English, you instantly felt a load taken off you.
"Y/N, this is Itadori Yuji, Itadori meet Y/N. She's a new student and I hope you can take care of her and guide her throughout her years-", before you could fully hear what Gojo sensei had been telling you, you felt his warm hands grasp your cold fists, and lead you out the door with a cheerful smile on his rosy face. "Cmon, let me show you around the place".
The sweetest, most curious guy, constantly questioning you about your interests and hobbies. It sometimes comes to the point where the poor boy is being so blatantly flirtarious and talkative that Nobara has to drag him away to a corner where he wouldn't make you blush so furiously. It takes time, but eventually you begin to open up to him and laugh and talk more comfortably around him and the others.
"Y/N, your looking exceptionally gorgeous today, aren't you-", "Yuji Itadori, please control your hormones", Nobara cut across him, smacking him as you held back giggles. "What? I'm not exactly lying, I'm just stating the obvious. When do you ever compliment Y/N? Hm? Perhaps a little jealous-". Shooting a warning look at his cocky expression as you gestured towards the fury on Nobara's face, he quickly walked away, blowing a kiss at you while doing so.
"Sorry Y/N, it still might take some time to get use to him", you heard the raven haired teen standing next to you say exasperatedly. "O-oh it's no big deal", you said with a soft smile, looking up at Megumi to see his face blushed pink. "Did I do something?", "No no Y/N, it's just a little hot here, y'know".
Megumi Fushiguro. The second person you had met in Jujutsu Tech that you really felt comfortable around. It was easier than the others to connect with him, your personalities being so similar, understanding when you felt shy, nervous or just didn't feel like talking. It wasn't uncommon to find you walking through Tokyo with a bright smile on your face as Megumi explained Japanese culture, where to find the best food and the most quiet, peaceful places to eat it.
It wasn't uncommon either for him to send glares to any old or creepy men ogling you, whispering with malice, "never seen a foreigner, huh? eyes off of her bastard".
"Takana". Looking around you, you locked eyes with Inumaki, who was gesturing at you and Megumi to follow him. "Everything ok?", you asked him with a worried look. Softening his gaze, you saw his eyes crinkle into what would be a smile, underneath his uniform. "Shake", he replied back.
Although you still didn't know Inumaki as well as the others, you still loved the tranquility and comfort you felt around him. Merely being in his presence, with the sweet, quiet person he was felt nice, consoling whenever you felt stressed about your cursed technique. He was as straightforward as how he communicated and understood how you felt whenever you couldn't communicate as well as you'd like with the others in Japanese.
After all, Japanese was a language you were only beginning to pick up and slipping in the odd word in Russian was something you couldn't control entirely. Sometimes, you sat beside him as you recited sounds and words in Japanese, on the roof of the dormitories with him, the quiet boy watching your long, blonde hair float in the breeze, or the light's of huge skyscrapers glimmering in the distance.
"Here we are Toge, you brought us to... Nanami's office?". Staring at the unfamiliar door, you gave Megumi a questioning look. "Oh, Y/N you haven't met him yet, his name is Nanami Kento, he will be improving your cursed technique with you", Megumi knocked on the door, almost immediately receiving an answer. The door opened to reveal a tall man, with neat blonde hair dressed in a handsome suit. "What is it Fush- Ah, come in, you must be L/N".
After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, the two of you started getting to work, Nanami, you could tell, being as kind and as patient as he could. You noticed how gentle he was, although he was such a muscular, towering man. After hours of working, laughing and chatting, the you and Nanami walked out of the school, you, panting with exhaustion.
"Thank you Nanami, it was really nice of you to help me", you looked up at him, flashing a toothy grin. "No problem L/N, if you ever have any other trouble, don't hesitate to reach out. How's your Japanese going? Itadori was telling me the other day you were practising hard".
"Oh, I'm trying as hard as I can", you replied, a shudder passing through you as you remembered accidentally speaking Russian to Principal Yaga the other day, only to receive a cocked eyebrow. "You must teach me Russian one day, L/N", Nanami stopped walking as he pointed towards the dorms.
"I guess you stop here, I'll see you soon", he walked away waving back at you. "Some guy, huh?". These past few days you had stressed over nothing, Nanami Kento was one of the nicest people you had met so far in Japan. You could already feel your admiration towards him growing, wishing someday you'd be just as advanced in your technique as him. "What was that Y/N?", you felt blush creep up your neck as you looked back to see Itadori's grin.
"N-nothing! I-I just came back from a class", you replied, nervously wringing your hands. "You must be exhausted, Nanami can be a real pain in the ass sometimes", you heard Megumi shout from his room. "Yeah a little". Looking at Inumaki, Megumi and then back at Itadori, you gave them a nervous smile wishing them goodnight before you shouted, 'I'll head to bed now!', running up the wooden stairs, looking back to see the three laughing at your shyness.
Stripping away your uniform and landing with a soft thump of your bed, you began to feel your eyelids grow heavy, falling into a deep sleep full of laughter and excitement, eagerly awaiting the incredible day dawn would bring.

Blue lock fic ideas that I will 99% not write
Warning: Fem reader (from another country)
So a time ago I had a head canon that one coherent way to meed the boys would be :
She kneew Anri a time before all happened
So the thing I thout was that the reader worked in a cofee shope that Anri currently frequents
The reader was new, not only in the shop but at Japan too, so when she went to take her order she was pretty nervious, Anri notices this and speaks english to do the things easyer
After te reader comes back with her order Anri told her that she shouldn’t have to be nervious, and then they started a little talk (Anri askin of raeder nationality, if she was studing etc...)
Since then Reader started to always take the orders of Anri and they started to get close and be friend
Reader has problems with her parents due to the things she wants to study and bc of that she started to work for save money before her 18′s. She went to japan in a exchange trip and is staying with some family friends. The ones that payed the trip were her other relatives that support her and her dreams. After some time she told this to Anri
So for help the reader she offers to work in blue lock, being her the one that mostly helps Anri and Ego even if she doesn’t know much of futbol
(I think the reader is the one that takes her of the players that get hurt by Shidou lol)
(I also headcanon that she is who has to talk with Shidou about his behavir [thank Ego for this] lmao)
Reader didn’t talk with almost anyone of blue lock for the most of the time, since she was bussy, the other ones too and the fact that there were no chance for they to meet lol
But may she meet 1 or 2 of the boys, who knows ( besides Shidou-)
extra. Why I think that the reader were used as human shield when shidou was with the sub20 fcdkackd. Like, that worked--
Another way is a more absurd one fhedakhcal
So the reader was walking in the street as a normal person would do
Then she were knoc down by a soccer ball
(In my mind Nagi would be the one that did this but I also think that, Sae and Oliver may too???)
So everyone were freaking out
The most stoic and calm ones were not an exception, like, the sound before the ball feel was something really painful to hear, wait there are people screaming too- WHO IS THE ONE IN THE FLOOR!?
You fortunatly survived-, but everything happened too fast so you didn’t know what happened, and that’s why you were scared when you saw that you were in an hospital
You were also surprised when you saw a guy that surely you didn’t ever had seen, so we can say that you were almost trembling of fear
He first asked how were you and then apologized of almost killing you-
After that he starts to talk a little with you (I see this happening with oliver too much plis-) and you also start to hang out of a way for apologize
In my mind the reader may even gets to be somehow the manager of the sub20 hfkcdshsksckis
For now I don’t have more ideas for this
The last one will be the shortest sorry-
Okay then, the reader and Barou are something like friends?? She is at the same class as him and does all the works with him since he was forced to have a partner, she was alone too so they had to work together, and somehow even with the problems of comunication and his behavior they did a really good work, so they started to do all together since barou didin’t want to do anything with other lmao.
I guess they were friends?? well the thing is that the reader was noticed when barou were out of blue lock, and he invited her to come with him at the bowling, and well we know that the other boys came there too fvsdzkza

Shingeki no Kyojin headcanons: 104th training corps (College AU)
Hello, Postmodernbeing here. This time I wanted to write about things that I actually know, since I’m a college student and I’m studing History and Social Sciences I found myself wondering about what would the 104th training corps focus their studies on if all of them had chosen humanities as their career. I hope you find this funny and at least a bit accurate.
IMPORTANT: I do not own Shingeki no Kyojin, only these HCs are my own. // Might contain a few spoilers from the manga. // English is not my first language and I study uni at Latin America, so scientifical terms/words/concepts may vary. Anyhow, I thank you for reading and for your patience.
Eren Jaeger
He’s passionate about Military History, not to be confused with history of army. Eren’s rather focused in strategies, weapons and semiotics involved in military speech.
First started with books about great wars in modern era. The use of certain weapons took him by surprise due the technological development.
Then he took classes about discourse analysis, semiotics and such, and felt inspired by the discourse reflected in emblems, uniforms, flags, etc.
Eren doesn’t really have a preference between occidental or oriental, North or South, Modern or Ancient settings. He would simply devour all the books that deal with military strategy and warlike conflicts. Although he has more experience and information about great wars in modern era.
He’s fascinated with the inexhaustible human desire of freedom and the extent that it can reach. This fascination might not be very healthy, he concludes.
Also, finds a cruel beauty in violence when showed in freedom and ideals are protected over one’s own life. But he won’t tell his classmates or professors. He knows is a controversial opinion for he’s still aware the implications of massive conflicts and the abuse of power.
One thing led to another, Eren is now taking classes and reading about philosophy in war and anthropological perspectives about violence through time.
He’s so into social movements besides his main interest in college: “No one’s really free until all humanity is”, that’s his life motto pretty much.
Due his readings and researches he decided it was important to develop a political stance about the world’s problems. Eren strongly believes all lives worth the same, but systems and nations had imposed over others and vulnerated other human's lives.
Yes, Eren is anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist.
Mikasa Ackerman
Asian Studies Major / History Minor.
She thinks by studying these degrees, she pays honor to her heritage. Specially to her mother. Her family is the proudest for Mikasa is also the best student in her whole generation.
Mikasa received a scholarship thanks to Azumabito family, who are co-founders of an academic institution dedicated to Asian historical and cultural research. She might as well start working when she graduates.
Although she’s passionate about Japan’s history, she has written a few articles and essays about Asian Studies themselves and the importance of preserving but also divulging by means of art and sciences.
In her essays and research work, she likes to employ tools from many disciplines since she strongly believes all humanities and social sciences serve the very same purpose at scrutinize the social reality all the same. Might as well use demographics, ethnology, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, archeology, and so on. For it proves to bring light into questions that history by itself could answer unsatisfactorily (in Mikasa’s opinion).
Even her professors wonder how she manages to organize that much information and pull it off successfully. She might as well be more brilliant than a few PhD’s students.
Armin Arlert
Prehistoric studies / Archeology
He’s so into the studies about the prehistoric humans and routes of migration.
Passionate about the ocean and natural wonders since kid, Armin believed his career would be environmentalist or geoscience related.
That was the agreement he had with his grandad since middleschool, until he read Paul Rivet’s “The Origins of the American Man” book and captured him thoroughly. The way the book explained logically the diverse theories about global migration and enlisted the challenges of modern archeology -for there are numerous mysteries- simply devoured his conscience.
He knew from the books he’d read that most evidence of the first settlements are deep under dirt or far away in the ocean whose level has risen over the centuries leaving primitive camps – and answers – unreachable.
That’s the reason he is so eager to study and give his best to contribute both archeology and history disciplines. Also, he’ll forever love the ocean and nature, just leave him do all the fieldwork, please.
Jean Kirstein
History of industry / Industrial heritage / Historical materialism
Jean first started interested in capitalist industries and production development in first world countries. Kind of rejected other visions and explanations since he’d read about positivism studies.
His interest in such matters started when he was a just boy. He often found himself wondering how things were made and that question captured him ever since. As he grew up, he realized that machines and industrial processes were highly involved in the most mundane objects creation.
Nonetheless, he learnt that not always the best machinery was used, nor the best work conditions were available for mass production. From that moment he’d started to read about the First Industrial Revolution and his mind just took off with questions. Invariably, he learned about labour struggle and the transforming power due workforce.
Between his readings and university classes, he’d knew more about labour movements, unions. And in the theoretical aspect, he'd learned about historical materialism analysis.
One could say that Jean possesses a humanistic vision of the implications in mass production under capitalist system along history and nowadays.
Marco Bodt
Royalty's history / Medieval Studies
I wanted to keep his canonical fascination to royalty and the best way to do that was including Medieval Studies.
Marco would study since the fall of Roman Empire until the latest gossip of royal families all across Europe.
Might get a bit of Eurocentric with his essays but in real life discussions he’s always open to debates about decolonization. He has even read Frantz Fanon books and possesses a critical thinking about colonial countries and their relations with the so named third world.
Nevertheless, Marco finds a strange beauty in the lives of monarchs and he’s interested in study from their education, hobbies, strategies, relationships, everything.
I’d say that his favorite historical period is probably the establishment of the descendants of the barbarian peoples in the new kingdoms such as the Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Franks, Vandals, Huns, Saxons, Angles and Jutes (holy shit, they're a lot).
Because this would transcend as the beginning of his favorite matter of analysis.
Sasha Braus
History of gastronomy, development of cooking, antropology and archeological studies.
Sasha’s interested in the history that shows human development of food and cooking. She finds wonders when she inquires into cultural aspects from the first farming till modern artistic expressions that would involve food.
Such as gastronomy. But her attention got caught in literature’s food representation too, with its symbols and allegories, also in paintings that belong in still life movement, but also Sasha finds interest when food is used as rhetorical devices (for example: the apple in Adam and Eve’s myth).
She’s curious about primitive systems of irrigation, cultivation, food distribution, adaptation of wild species; as well as the domestication of animals, the diversification of the diet and its link with sedentary life, as well as the subsequent division of labor once the need for food was assured in humanity first cities.
Sasha’s convinced that alimentation is the pilar of civilization as we know it. For it involves cultural, artistic, economic, emotion and social aspects. Food is a microcosm of analysis of humanity.
Sasha hasn’t a favorite historical period or setting. But she definitely has a special fascination for first civilizations and their link with alimentation. Also, she likes to study the development gastronomy in occident world around different regions, social classes, and time.
Although, let’s be honest, Sasha would devour (lol, couldn’t help it) ANY book about agriculture, cattle raising, cooking or gastronomy.
Connie Springer
Micro-history / History of everyday life.
Connie loves his hometown, has a deep respect to his family and traditions. That’s why he finds himself wondering about the most ordinary events that developed in his dear Ragako.
The book “The Cheese and the Worms” by Carlo Ginzburg changed the way he used to understand history and capture him into meaningful discussions about what he learned was called micro-history.
His favorite quote from that book is: “As with language, culture offers to the individual a horizon of latent possibilities—a flexible and invisible cage in which he can exercise his own conditional liberty.”
Once deep into studying the Italian historians and their works, he decided to give it a try, and ever since he’s mesmerized with the mundane vestiges craftsmen that worked in his village left behind.
Connie’s parents are so proud of him and his achivements, but mostly because he became a passionate academic over human and simple matters, (so down to earth our big baby).
His attitude towards his essays and research works truly shows his great heart and humility. Connie is aware that academic works have no use if they are not meant to teach us about ourselves too and current times.
Empathy and hard work, that’s how one could describe the elements that integrate his recently started academic career.
Historia Reiss
Political History / Statistician
Her father’s family pressured Historia since she was a little girl into studying History just like his dad. For he’s a very famous historian that had made important researches and books about the greatest statesmen of Paradis.
She thought in numerous ways that she could sabotage her career or study any other career without her family’s consent and end with her linage of historians. But she ended up enrolling in tuition and so far, she is trying her best in her studies. Historia swears this is the right path for her.
But don’t let the appearances fool you, even thought she studies her father’s career and the very same branch of history’s discipline, she has her own critical sense and she’s so talented on her own, very meticulous with her research papers.
Definitely wants a PhD about women, power and politics. We stand a Gender Studies Queen.
Her complementary disciplines are Political Sciences. Historia also has a talent for philosophy and owns a diary with all her thoughts about them. She hopes one day she would write a book or a manifesto about an innovative methodology for research and teaching History of Politic Thinking.
Ymir
Religion’s History / Theology
Just like Historia, Ymir was pressured into studying History. And if she’s totally honest, she still has some doubts about it. Even if she couldn’t imagine herself studying anything else.
Anyways, Ymir thought that she could build her career around topics that she enjoys. So, she finally chose theology for unusual reasons.
Her classmates had grown up in religious families or had experience studying the doctrines they practiced. But she, being an agnostic, found satisfaction in unraveling belief systems in different cultures and time periods.
Albeit she studies in Paradis’ University, she currently has the opportunity of taking an academic exchange at Marley’s University. This only made Ymir more conflicted about her future, for she wants to stay (near Historia) but she’s aware that Marley would offer her more academic opportunities for her specialization.
Nowadays she’s working in some collaborative research paper with some people from Mythological Studies from the Literature department. She’s nailing it, writing some historical studies about titans in Greek mythology and its impact in shaping neoclassical poetry. Her brains ugh, love her.
Reiner Braun
Official History / Biographies of heroes and great wars.
His mother convinced him with numerous books about great national heroes, but mostly because she knew that would mean sure job to her son. All political administration in every level requires of an official chronicler.
When he started his college courses, Reiner felt motivated and he was actually convinced that he had the vocation. But the more he read the less sure he felt that the academic world was for him. He wondered if he made the right choice. If he did it for him or for his mother.
Stories and myths about heroes have always cheered him up. That gave him purpose and consoled him when feeling down. Or at least it was like that when younger. Reiner truly didn’t feel like himself when regretting his choices, but he couldn’t help it for he was changing in more than a way.
That’s why he decided to experiment with other disciplines and with time he would find joy in historical novels. He would analyze them just as good as a litterateur and research about historical context in the written story AND study the artwork’s context itself.
His favorites theorical books are: “Historical Text as Literary Artifact” by Hayden White and Michel de Certeau’ “The Writing of History”.·
Heroes stories would always accompany him, just differently now.
Bertolt Hoover
History of mentalities / Les Annales
Intimate relationships, basic habits and attitudes. / Culture
Bertie has always been a much reticent and shy guy. As he grew up, he consolidated his sullen personality, but maintained a friendly attitude towards anyone who needed him. That’s why he thought that the priority in his studies was to be at the service of his classmates.
So, although he was passionate about research and was a fan of the French Les Annales current, he considered his mission to be in the Archive. As a cataloger, organizer and curator of ancient documents.
But the ways of History are always mysterious, and Doctor Magath showed him that other way of being was possible. Before Bertolt picked his specialty, he met Theo Magath, a professor who recently had finished writing a book: “The Idea of Death in Liberio’s Ghetto in Marley During its War Against Eldia (Paradis)” (long-ass titles are historians specialty btw). After Magath ended his book’ presentation, Bertolt reached him. They talked for hours and finally, he felt inspired into pursuing his true passion. Magath gifted him “The Historian’s Craft” by Marc Bloch as a way to reminding him his way.
By the time Bertolt took History of Mentalities as optional class, he already had some basic notions about Les Annales, Lucien Febvre, Marc Bloch, Fernand Braudel, Jacques Le Goff and such.
Being the gentle giant he is, Bertolt finds joy in reading about different lifestyles in diverse cultures. He constantly wonders about the origin of social constructs and the way they shape thinking as much as identity.
This boy is a wonder, he might not be the best in oral presentations or extracurricular activities but sure as hell he’ll graduate with honors.
Annie Leonhart
Oral history, about institutions. Particularly, police and justice system in early XXs.
Albeit she got into the same University than Bertolt and Reiner, even shared classes and hopes, Annie regularly felt disconnected from her studies. With time she realized it wasn't due her career itself but rather because of the currents that her professors had suggested her taking. Until now.
Talking with Hitch and Marlow about their doubts concerning subjects and departments it came up the topics of history and present time but also oral history. She’d never heard something like that before. So, that very same week, Annie started searching for information about that.
She ended up with more questions: is it all of this just academic journalism? Or maybe sociology? When we can talk about regular history and when it starts being present time? If she introduces interviews due oral history, then that makes it an interdisciplinary work? Which are the best systems for analyzing data? Definitely, she’ll need help from anthropology and sociology departments if she wants to keep going.
Contrary to her initial prognostic, philosophy and history of historic writing became her new allies, and the text “Le temps présent et l'historiographie contemporaine” (Present Time and Contemporary Historiography) by Bédarida among others, provided Annie another perspective.
Regarding her favorite topics, she wouldn’t say that she selected them freely. They were just practical preferences. For institutions own extensive archives and numerous functionaries. One way or another, she ended up tangled in judicial system and police issues.
With new tools and object for studying, one could find Annie having a blast as detective too. Even if her academic essays focus on institutions’ history and configuration, she’s also working in corruption and more. She doesn’t do it because she believes it’s the right thing, but besides, the thrill of the tea is spicy. Although she won’t admit it.

So, I watched Whispers of the Heart this weekend and in the moment this is my favorite Studio Ghibli movie. I just really liked so many things about it:
The fact the love interest plays violin and so do I.
And just like me the main character is trying to write a story (but unlike her I’m basically failing).
The sister relationship was pretty realistic.
The friendship between Shizuko and Yuko was so cute, they both supported each other and I really liked that because sometimes people forget that the main character isn’t supposed to have a one way friendship with the supporting character.
Other point is the way her father reacted to her putting her studing aside for sometime, it was really nice.
The ending was sooo cute.
In the moment I’m obsessed with that scene when Shizuko is singing Country Roads and Seiji is playing violin.
Also, I wish I could play violin like Seiji, he plays so well.
And as someone who plays violin they did it pretty well. I mean I have no idea if what he is doing is how someone would play that music but it is accurate? I mean, the hand position is right and the way he plays with the bow is also right, the movents he does were done correctly. I really liked it. I don’t know if it was accurate for what he was playing but it was accurate in the sense that’s how you play violin.
(I’m gonna be picky about that violin scene now, but you can ignore it, specially because at best I’m in the intermeddiate level. I’m also sorry for my explanation, I don’t have a good vocabulary, I’m googling all the technal vocabulary right now.).
First of all, he didn’t have a shoulder rest. I don’t know about Japan, but as far as I know most of people play with a shoulder rest. In my opinion it is more confortable (and it doesn’t leave marks). So, before playing he would put the shoulder rest in his violin.
Other thing is that he just got his bow and started playing, but you don’t do that. When it is in your case your bow hair is loose, so you need to adjust it by the screw (???). The bow stick is made straight, then the luthier gives it a bend. When you put away the bow you make the hair loose to keep the bend, when you play you adjust it so you’ll be able to play. But you cannot put the bow away with its hair tighten because if you do that you can lose the bend.
The last thing is that you generally apply rosin to the bow, that happens because the rosin causes friction between the bow and the strings which allows the sound to happen. But idk, maybe he had played violin that day and had already applied rosin and knew it wasn’t necessary.
And finally I wish I had seen Shizuko friends singing Country Roads...
Best regards,
Me.
Ps. If you have any youtube channel that teaches violin well to recommend I would be really grateful. I really wanna improve, but it is kind of complicated to get to technical things alone.

Is it weird to ship a country with a state? I was studing stuff about Brazil and Japan for my headcanons and endup shipping Japan and São Paulo a lot.
I don’t really care all too much, I know a lot of people who do it and whilst I personally don’t do it, I wouldn’t say it’s weird or anything

I teach at a nursery school/kindergarten in Japan. It’s a private school that starts at age one and goes to age six. It’s an all English private school, so students are completely immersed in English in school and do everything in English, and the rest of their lives is in Japanese. It really is the easiest way to learn English in Japan.
And it really does work very well. We do all the things a normal nursery school/kindergarten does, we just make sure it’s in English and put an emphasis on proper grammar for the five and six year olds. I cut snowflakes with the three year old class yesterday, it was great fun.
But herein lies the issue: most of the kids are mostly neuro normal. Or, if they have struggles, it’s within a degree where myself and other teachers can help. One student is most likely dyslexic, and we can help with that.
We can’t, unfortunately, help with children who are more severely neuro divergent. We have two students at the school currently who it has become clear need far more help than we can offer them. We don’t have enough properly trained staff to help those two students.
One student is in the two year old class and one student is in the three year old class.
The student in the two year old class has missed nearly all of his milestones. He cannot form sentences, he cannot grasp basic concepts like not taking from other kids (see, want, take is what he does for everything), he doesn’t have enough motor skill control to use a fork or a spoon (he reverts to using his hands for every lunch). It’s more than that, but it’s severe. Before he came to our school he had been forced to leave every public kindergarten and nursery school in the area because the schools were not setup to help a student with his issues.
We have informed his mother that we need to have a meeting and have a list of suggested schools that are designed to help students like him. His mother has ‘forgotten’ every meeting and refuses to come to talk with the teachers. She knows there is a problem and she is trying to hide from it. We won’t be graduating him to the three year old class next year because we feel it won’t be safe.
And a large part of why parents react by hiding and ignoring the issue is because of how children like this in Japan are treated. There are rarely special schools, and those schools are absolutely terrible. The schools are mostly daycare centers never designed to help a child, just to make sure the child doesn’t hurt themselves or anyone else.
When the child ends up in elementary and junior high school it gets worse. Special education isn’t a thing in Japan for the most part. What normally happens to these children is that they are all put in a single room as part of a single class, and sometimes they get a little bit of a lesson or two but not much. There are usually no special education teachers at the school, and so it’s just regular teachers with no knowledge of how to help just talking to the room, and they are never tested and no one tries to help or teach them.
The students will never interact with the rest of the school, they will never be a part of school activities, and once their mandatory schooling is done (only through junior high in Japan), they will be sent home and there are rarely, if ever, any social safety nets for them.
It is not unusual for parents to basically just keep them locked away from the rest of society, completely ashamed, and no one ever talks of them again.
And, unfortunately, the reason I worry about the two students who are having problems is because I can easily see this becoming their future in the town where I live. There are no social safety nets in place for them, and I have worked in junior high schools and elementary schools where I have seen this happen to students. Everyone doesn’t know what to do, so they lock them away and ignore them, and it’s terrible.
I also see that I’m not a great part in helping the problem. But all I can do when I have fourteen other two year old students is, when the one child acts completely inappropriately, is sit him in time out in the corner. It’s me and fifteen other two year olds, that’s it. And he’s shoving children over to take their toys during play time, and I can’t allow that. But I’m not trained to deal with a student with his needs, I don’t have the skills to do so, and he’s acting more violently every week and I have to protect the smaller students.
It’s a hard position his mother is in (especially as she is a single mother in Japan), and I wish there were better resources available for her. Anything that would let her see a positive in his future rather than just being afraid of having to be left alone to care for him for the rest of her life.

This is for the oc thing i wanna try it :DD
Name: Mamoru
Age: n/a
Gender: n/a
Nicknames: Momo,Ruru,Mamo
Looks: mamoru appears to be a white smoke but can transform into any type of living things but they prefer animals, mostly cats and dogs (especially a shiba inu)
Location: Fukuoka,Japan, but they can be anywhere
Bio:
Mamoru is a good spirit willing to protect the people away from the dangers and disasters, they warn them by going into their dreams or giving signs, if they like the person they will give them gifts like flowers and will protect that said person and follow them around(in their animal form), mamoru feeds on sadness and if they saw someone sad they will turn into a cat/dog and try to get their attention while eating away their sadness slowly, mamoru will also give luck for those who are kind and T̶o̶r̶t̶u̶r̶e̶ badlucks for those who dont
And thats mamoru! I hope you like them:DD
Richard Firewood
Richard is a far more realistic guy and he doesn't really believe in spirits and such things, but if he would see Mamoru he would probably deny their existence.
Richard: That is only a hallucination. Period.
Jackson Jasper
He isn't the most into believing about spirits either, but he will wonder if they saw Mamoru if he got too drunk and now sees stuff.
Jackson: I think I smoked too much weed because of no way that is real.
The Hacker
Surprisingly, this guy believes in paranormal and supernatural, because he got laid with one...Long story. I think he would be like 'What the hell do you want?' to Mamoru.
The Hacker: Good luck to me.... Like I need one, but thanks for groping by, doll. *smirks*
Bambi Miller
She believes in some supernatural stuff like pixies, but that's about it, so seeing Mamoru, she would be very excited and wrap them into her arms while into said animal form.
Bambi: I always believed when little that these kinds of things were real!
Dave Anthony
A good spirit? Well, Dave sure will make fun and harras Mamoru and make them cry because that's Dave. A big bad bully of the undead ones. There is no such thing as luck and he will make sure to put that through Mamorous ol' so good spirit.
Dave: You give people good luck, pussy? *smirks* Well.. I would love to tell you that I drive them mad until they kill themselves.
Samuel Grayson
He is an evil entity, but having a good spirit doesn't really bother Samuel, as long as they don't stay in his way. He will be on neutral territory with Mamoru.
Samuel: I rarely see good spirits... Mostly because they are swallowed into the pits of hell.
Gerome and Axel (Miami Murderers)
They both certainly don't believe in spiritual beings and such, so I don't really know how they would react to Mamoru. Gerome will sure loke them to see if they are real while Axel will facepalm.
Gerome: Yo, little fella... You real?
Axel: *facepalm*
Damiano Liberato
He will be intrigued by Mamoru and he will find their Asian Dog form very beautiful, maybe be tempted to dress them up.
Damiano: So... You bring luck? You might be usefull... But you need a stilish collar to go with your fur.
Azment
She will find Mamoru very cute and adorable. She might take them as a company pet to cherish.
Azment: Never thought about the prospect of a cute dog or cat... But you know what they say... Never say never. *smiles*
Mitch Carson
Is confused and unsure of them and he might poke them with an arrow to see if they bleed.
Mitch: *grunts and pokes Mamoru with a sharp arrow*
Azol
Mamoru is good luck? Well.... Azol is bad luck and they would stand a five minutes next to Azol who will probably make them cry. Azol is absolutly repulsive and has no shame.
Azol: They sound like a cute juicy cupcake... And I wanna stick my cocl into them! *evil laugh*
The Shadow
He is very fascinated by this so called creature or spirit or whatever they are... He might want to experiment on them... Or disect them. Whichever.
The Shadow: Supranatural isn't something I am studing too much... But there is always a start I suppose. *sharpens scalpel*
Bahini Talibah
She finds Mamoru very cute and wants to learn more about them. Their history... How they came to be... Their power.... From where does their good luck come.
Bahini: They are very interesting... And I love to be around them. They help with my anxiety.
Xaviera Lah-Mo
She is very spiritual into her thinking and finds this creature absolutly stunning, especially their shapeshifting abilitiy to turn into cat or dog.
Xaviera: They are so cute and adorable... And I wonder if they is just them or they are much more than one.
Akshay Lah-Mo
He may find Mamoru interesting and he will have a hard time to believe what he sees but he can feel the positive energy they give off and that's enough for them to be into the Polar bears good books.
Akshay: Yeah... They are good... First time I meet them, they brought me flowers to press into my book. *shrug*
Decebal Avram Chirilă
His home country has many legends about the supranatural so seeing a spirit like Mamoru will make him very excited. He is an adventurer after all and he basks into all the unbelivable.
Decebal: This fella looks super cool! Can they shapeshift into something else other than cat and dog?
Nadia Nikolina Chirilă
Just like Decebal, she knows many legends from her home country and other foreign legends. She finds Mamoru fascinating to say so.
Nadia: Good luck you say? If only I had good luck as a child. *sigh*
Alexander Chirilă
He is a big fan of supranatural on legends, fairytales and all that folklore. I can see him petting Mamoru as a Shiba Dog while he enjoys his green tea.
Alexander: They bring good luck... That's amazing... I am usually seen as bringing bad luck.... Like a black cat. *sad sigh*
