Honda's electric scooter "SC e" showcased at Tokyo Motor Show 2023
Honda unveiled the SC e: electric scooter idea at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show (commonly known as the Tokyo Motor Show). The SC e: concept appears to be similar to the EM 1e: e-scooter currently on the market in Europe. However, it appears to be a larger size than the EM 1e:. The SC e: concept, according to Honda, has two replaceable battery packs with a capacity of ‘about 1.3kWh’ apiece.…

Is this true? Showed my friend your recent blog...
I don't think that's necessarily true... let me gather the Phone Lore I could've sworn I'd translated and posted this one excerpt from the artbook but I guess I didn't?
Chunky and User-friendly Sea Cucumber Phones The worldwide craze of this mobile device all started with the youth of Splatsville. At first, the many antennas made it troublesome to use, but the “seriously, you can get a connection anywhere,” level of communication quality led to its rapid increase in market share. With its enhanced functionality in conjunction with the lobby, it has become an indispensable device for battles. (The Art of Splatoon 3, page 151)
The phones were also asked about in the april 2023 dev interview with Famitsu
---Is there any reason why there are so many Sea-Cucumber Phone users in Splatsville? Inoue: Those phones, the sturdiness and the strength of the antenna, which can be connected anywhere, make it suitable for the Splatlands, so it has a significant share of the market.
What we can gather from this is that connection out in the Splatlands is Not Great, and without Grizzco's influence, the phones were already super popular.
This reads more to me like "use your device that you already have to conveniently find a job!" rather than "buy this phone." I feel like i've seen job hunting service ads in japan that look like this.

Dear fellow Professor Layton fans! I’m writing this post to explain the timeline of events about the search for Mansion of the Deathly Mirror to clear up any misconceptions or missing information you may have.
To start, Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror (レイトン教授と死鏡の館 ) is a game in the Professor Layton series that was exclusively released for mobile. It was available on Professor Layton Mobile. The game features a brand new story formed by 6 chapters in total. Each chapter was his own i-appli, and they were released every two weeks starting from October 2008. As of June 2024, a translation of the original version is in the works, with the first chapter already released and as of September 2024 all 6 chapters have been preserved
Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror -Remix- (レイトン教授と死鏡の館 -REMIX-) is an updated version of Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirroravailable to i-Mode devices through the Professor Layton Mobile and Mobile R portal. This version has different puzzles, slightly better animations and slightly different dialogues compared to the original version.
Synopsis
Professor Layton and his number one apprentice, Luke Triton, are invited to a party hosted by famous author Drevin Murdoch. At this party, he reveals to be in possession of a mirror that allows the attendants to talk to the dead. However, after Murdoch is found dead the following morning, it's up to Layton and Luke to find out the truth behind the Deathly Mirror, and the secrets Murdoch's Mansion holds.
(Credit: Keitai Wiki)
Chapter 1: A Single Piece
In 2014, a streamer managed to record the first three chapters of Deathly Mirror. A little while after, the streamer began to be harassed by multiple fans, eventually leading them to take down the videos. Due to the lack of preservation efforts at the time, the videos weren’t saved.
Years later, bits and pieces—such as screenshots, articles, and press videos—were found, but nothing concrete.
Chapter 2: A Picture Forming
In May of 2023, a Japanese fan posted the first part of what would become a complete playthrough of all six chapters of Mansion of the Deathly Mirror Remix. This was monumental for the Layton Lost Media (LLM) scene. However, during the 11 months it took to release the full playthrough, there were some difficulties with Western fans. The issues included harassment of the player for more videos, begging for the ROM (despite the player clearly stating they were afraid of Japan’s strict piracy laws), and other forms of harassment.
This period caused uncertainty and worry throughout the Layton Lost Media community, leading the community to strictly instruct members to cease any future contact with the player to prevent the playthrough from being lost before its completion. Around the same time, in February of 2024, thanks to the help of the user @/ponkikipon on Discord, we were able to preserve the ROMs of the original chapters 1-3. In April 2024, the playthrough of Remix came to an end with the release of the video for the sixth chapter. This allowed for the formation of Team Enigma, which sought to fully remake both the original and remixed versions of the game into one package, translate the original game into English, and expand their efforts into other translation projects. Chapter 1 is currently fully translated and available.
Chapter 3: The Final Piece
In September 2024, Keitai Wiki and a user by the name of @/yuvi on Discord managed to locate chapters 4-6 on a junk phone, marking the full preservation of the original Mansion of the Deathly Mirror. This allowed Team Enigma to bypass multiple roadblocks in the development of the remake and translation.
Please show your support by supporting Keitai Wiki, Team Enigma, and Team Professor Layton Archive.

An Abbreviated History of Mecha Part 7: The Witching Hour Is Here!
Spoiler Warning: This post contains spoilers for one Brave Bang Bravern. I'd recommend watching at least the first episode of Bravern before continuing.
Welcome to the final installment of An Abbreviated History of Mecha! Last time, we had some technical difficulties due to the Lich screwing things up with its time shenanigans covered what many would consider to be mecha's "Dark Age." Now, we will see how the genre has recovered. It remains to be seen how this decade will go down in history, but so far mecha shows have had a minor bit of a rebound. Though that insipid line of thinking (you've probably heard it at one point: "mecha shows are about the robots, not the characters") is still doing a bit of harm to the general reception of mecha shows, the canon is doing better than before. Not well, like it was in the 90's, but it's not in dire straits.
Victory is never decided by mobile suit performance alone.
Nor by the skill of the pilot, alone.
The result itself is the only proof!
Kyoukai Senki/AMAIM: Warrior At the Borderline (2021)
Kicking off the decade, 2021 would give us a new franchise in the form of the former Xebec, now Sunrise Beyond series AMAIM: Warrior At the Borderline. Sporting smaller robots in a setting similar to Code Geass but Japan was split into three by three world superpowers like it was Post-World War II Germany, AMAIM would be one of the few new mecha shows to come out that would be animated entirely in 2D.
Megaton Musashi (2021)
Developed by Level-5 Studios, Megaton Musashi is a game series that pays homage to the mecha stories of old, particularly that of Getter Robo. The game itself would suffer in terms of marketing, as Level-5 would end up shuttering their US studio in this decade. Which is wild, because this series would also get an anime adaptation that's only started airing this year.
Also, Megaton Musashi has a lot of crossovers with older mecha shows like Getter Robo and Combattler V.
SSSS.Dynazenon (2021) & Gridman Universe (2023)
Returning in 2021 would be Studio Trigger with the follow-up to SSSS.Gridman, SSSS.Dynazenon. Based off of the Dyna Dragon from the original Gridman the Hyper Agent, SSSS.Dynazenon would carry on the energy from its predecessor in terms of energy and heart.
2023 would also see the worlds of SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon collide with the movie finale Gridman Universe, bringing the casts of both shows together for one last hurrah for Trigger's Gridman trilogy.
Back Arrow (2021)
While 2021 was a good year for mecha in general, one show that doesn't get talked about more is Goro Taniguchi's Back Arrow. Set in the walled world of Lingalind, Back Arrow would give us a story where the mecha are powered by a character's convictions.
That's right! Back Arrow is quite possibly the single greatest series in terms of highlighting what piloted giant robots are all about. These stories were never about the giant robot itself; the giant robots were living extensions of the pilots who controlled them. Hence why the breiheights of Back Arrow are based purely on a character's core beliefs.
Getter Robo Arc (2021)
2020 would also see the surprise announcement of an adaptation of the unfortunately unfinished Getter Robo Arc. With the goal of wrapping up the story as best as possible without the guiding hand of series creator Ken Ishikawa, Getter Robo Arc's anime adaptation would finally release in 2021. With this, the Getter Robo saga can finally come to an end.
If you've already watched his video on Getter Robo, Cheese GX also has a follow-up covering Getter Robo Arc specifically.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash (2021) & Cucuruz Doan's Island (2022)
And in case you didn't believe me when I said 2021 was a good year for mecha, let me remind you of something: Gundam was featured as part of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Gundam would see the creation of the now-disassembled RX-78-2 Gundam in Yokohama as part of the celebration of the games. The RX-0 Gundam Unicorn would also make a cameo in the background during the Olympic Rock Climbing event, as Gundam Front Tokyo was the venue.
Most important of all for us, is that 2021 would see the release of part one of a trilogy of movies based on the Hathaway's Flash novel. And as if that wasn't enough, 2022 would also see the release of a movie based on the infamous episode of the original series known as Cucuruz Doan's Island. And as a reminder: Gundam's not done yet. I haven't even gotten to the other big Gundam series yet. These were just the two major series released for the Universal Century in this decade.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury (2022)
Where Gundam made really big news in this decade was with the release of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury. Set in the Ad Stella timeline, G-Witch would bring awareness to the franchise that hadn't really been seen since it's heyday in the 90's. G-Witch would also differentiate itself from the rest of the Gundam series by presenting us with Gundam's first female main protagonist, the very tanuki-coded Suletta Mercury (and that depends, because if we're saying Gundam protagonist, then I'd argue technically War in the Pocket's Christina McKenzie has Suletta beat by a couple decades; this isn't even getting into Ecoile du Ciel). And not only is she the first female protagonist, Suletta is also Gundam's first queer protagonist!
Bullbuster (2023)
If there is any series that I wish I had caught while it was airing last year, it would definitely be Bullbuster. Cut from the same cloth as Patlabor and Dai-Guard, Bullbuster presents to us a construction robot is used to fight... aliens?
LEGO movie, is that you?
Okay, seriously though, I do think Bullbuster got drowned out due to being in a year that also included The Witch From Mercury.
Brave Bang Bravern (2024)
Man, if you thought The Witch From Mecury was gay...
2024 would open with Cygames Studio's Brave Bang Bravern. Directed by Masami Obari (a man who I have somehow failed to mention until now), Bravern would manage to capture the joy of the Brave franchise of old (and really mecha shows on the whole), all while making it very gay.
And I mean it. Bravern is quite possibly the single gayest show to come out in the 2020's. Maybe even of all time.
And that's really a wrap on pretty much everything that's come out, but there is one upcoming series set to come out next month...
Grendizer U (Airs July 2024)
Not seeming to want to be left out, the Mazinger saga would also get a surprise announcement in 2023 with a teaser for Grendizer U. Set to air in 2024, Grendizer U is going to be a reboot of the original UFO Robot Grendizer series, though some changes have been made (namely, Kouji has now brought along both Sayaka and Professor Yumi; more importantly, Kouji will now be piloting Mazinger Z instead of playing a support role like he did in the original Grendizer).
You can bet that I will be covering this series, especially if it's picked up by Crunchyroll this coming summer.
Looking Beyond Grendizer U & 2024: Live-action Gundam, Hathaway Parts 2 & 3, Gunbuster 3, and Patlabor EZY
Going beyond 2024, there are also other series that are set to be released some time in this decade. 2016 saw the release of the Patlabor Reboot promo, which is supposedly a test run for a new Patlabor series: Patlabor EZY. Supposedly set to air sometime in 2026 (at least last I saw), I'm as excited about this as Isao Ohta is about any type of gun that comes across his path.
Studio Gaina (again, not to be confused with the now-closed Gainax) also has plans to release Gunbuster 3, though that will probably be on the shelves for now until Grendizer U wraps up.
And of course, Gundam still has two more parts of the Hathaway movies to work on. There's also a live-action Gundam series that is also in the works at Legendary.
Conclusion
And that's a wrap, folks. Finally, after ten whole posts, I've covered an incomplete history of mecha! Yes that's right! Incomplete! Why did you think it was called abbreviated?
Jokes aside, I thought this would be a relatively simple project. Just cover a handful of mecha shows from the decades since their inception, say a thing or two about them, and move on. It turns out that, even when I cherry-picked the shows to talk about, there were still a lot of them.
Do I regret doing it, though? No. Well, maybe that bit about Valvrave specifically. Outside of that, I think it is important that this series of posts still exist. I tried my best to be as impartial as possible, and hopefully you, dear reader, have caught that. I really don't want this project to turn out to be identical in tone to Professor Otaku's Complete History of Mecha video series. Man literally cannot hide his disdain for shows he doesn't like very well, and I think it does a massive disservice to both his series and himself.
What I want you to take away from this series of posts is: every show I covered on here is someone's favorite. I've seen at least one person go to bat for every series I named here. I've done it for G Gundam and Patlabor, and I plan on doing it for a couple more series on here. The real important thing here is that this post helps in dismissing that wrong-headed claim of "mecha shows are just about the robots and not the characters." Which is a thing I will talk about soon.
But not right now. Now I want to rest. And by rest, I mean throwing my wrist out while playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
God Groose is such a great character.

10th Years "Tomodachi Life" (& My blogs)
On April 18, 2023, one year ago, I wrote a very long article on my blog about Mii and Japanese politics in relation to 'Tomocore', which was released earlier in Japan. I would like to share the English translation of that article, which I used Chat GPT and DeepL to translate.
To be clear, this article contains content that is very distressing for the feminist community, the LGBTQ+ community, and those who struggle with and contemplate human rights issues...
【The original article】10周年目のトモダチコレクョン新生活 (Tomodachi Collection:New life, 10th birthday) 2023.04.18 https://hakoniwa-h.tumblr.com/post/714856306541002752/
「This is a gift from everyone」
On April 18, 2013, "Tomodachi Collection: New Life" was released, and now, it has reached its 10th anniversary. Congratulations. To share the excitement of 11 PM on April 17, 2013, I updated this blog at 11 PM on April 17, 2023. Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend the always-with-you download version…
Before moving this blog, I was posting various things about Tomodachi Collection: New Life on Seesaa Blog. If you've been with us since then, you've been following this blog for over 10 years.
Thank you. Congratulations on the 10th anniversary!
↑ Kanta, the 100th resident born on Likunoko Island, has also turned 9.
Tomodachi Collection: New Life was released on June 6, 2014, under the name "Tomodachi Life" in America, the EU, Australia, and Korea …etc. Before its release, Nintendo corrected an element related to "same-sex marriage" as a bug. I remember that when some people requested not to correct it, Nintendo responded firmly, saying, "We cannot incorporate social claims," which led to protests from users and human rights groups, resulting in an apology. At that time, I felt I had to summarize this controversy in my own way, but with limited knowledge of gender and the LGBTQ community, I remember feeling uncertain about whether it was appropriate to write "same-sex marriage" or "homosexuality" (I had some hesitation about whether it was "love" when it came to Mii relationships). Therefore, I used the terms "same-sex marriage" and "same-sex relationship." I've quietly revised that clumsy blog post since moving from Seesaa, correcting parts that seemed "discriminatory" or "a bit mistaken," but the overall tone and sentiment from that time remain unchanged, and it still exists today.
Back then, I was still immature, grappling with "fighting the society I thought was normal" in the face of my favorite work and the changing times.

Today, I'd like to share some serious thoughts about politics inspired by Tomodachi Collection: New Life over these past ten years.
"Let's sometimes check how seriously we are living!"
■ Mii's Achievements Almost ten years have passed since the criticism. Following this criticism, "Miitopia" was released, where Mii characters could love anyone regardless of gender (or rather, Mii's gender itself became quite ambiguous), and it was reborn as a fascinating software for the 3DS and later remade for the Switch with enhanced features.
Moreover, Mii showed a remarkable presence in "Miitomo," which was Nintendo's first mobile app launched on March 17, 2016. Unfortunately, "Miitomo" has since been discontinued, but they are now planting flowers in the city with Pikmin in "Pikmin Bloom." I believe Mii are still doing their best.
■ Games and Politics Nintendo has stated, "We strive to create an environment where each employee can demonstrate their abilities," and reportedly introduced a partnership system in March 2021, advocating respect for human rights. This initiative for a diverse workplace includes a section on "promoting women's participation," but although 30% of Nintendo (Japan)'s employees are women, which might be relatively high for a general company, the fact that there are still fewer opportunities for women hasn't changed. Consequently, the fewer female employees, the fewer chances women have to benefit from the partnership system. Although it might be unrealistic to expect a sudden 50% representation tomorrow, I hope for a gradual increase. Additionally, Japanese electronics companies, including Nintendo, have been accused of being involved in forced labor in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in 2020, and they are being asked to report on their stance regarding "modern slavery." [References]

There was also a bit of news that caught my attention.
■ Reality Pulling Us Back Now, regarding the much-desired proper sequel to "Tomodachi Collection: New Life" that I and probably the readers of this blog are hoping for, I must point out that the harsh response of Japanese society to the LGBTQ+ community is affecting the existence of the Mii characters. I can't help but think that the political issues surrounding whether to keep Mii's relationships and marriages strictly between male and female or make them more free are hindering development and release. It's likely impossible to create a "Mii who only likes one gender" now. Creating a "Mii who only likes one gender" would break the promise made during the controversy nine years ago when Tomodachi Life was released. The global fan community (honestly, excluding certain communities attacking minorities while jokingly invoking "Nintendo's legal department" and those sharing sensitive information affecting international relations and wars) is not foolish. Moreover, these issues will affect not just Tomodachi Collection but various other games. If it's judged that "human rights are being ignored for business," even the above-mentioned human rights statements will come under stricter scrutiny. Unless these issues are resolved, the development of a sequel to "Tomodachi Collection: New Life" won't be directed (or rather, can't be directed). I now think that the deterioration of Japanese politics over the past decade and the lack of "human rights education" are holding back development.
What I can say to those who wish for the release of "Tomodachi Collection: New Life" is to seriously consider Japanese politics.
If possible, think about human rights and the LGBTQ+ community because while Mii are fictional avatars, they occupy a unique position that can integrate real-life people into the game world, making them inseparable from reality and capable of influencing it.
Being aware of this, reexamining your own assumptions, and stopping discrimination are the quickest paths to development and release.
Is it natural that marriage is only possible between a man and a woman?
Wouldn't it have been acceptable for storks to deliver children to same-sex couples? Wouldn't having a slider setting for 'having children or not' solve this issue? Why is acquiring a home limited to married couples? There are many things we can reconsider.
I feel so seriously that "this country is in a bit of a crisis" that I have to say such serious things 10 years after the release of Tomodachi Collection: New Life. Please understand this small request.
I want the Switch to be imported to a new island in "Tomodachi Collection: New Life," and for Mii to play Zelda, Ring Fit Adventure, and more. I love Mii playing 3DS and WiiU on the 3DS, but I want to say, "Please export the Switch!"
If the economy were a bit better, I think many downloadable content and repairs for 3DS and Wii could have continued. What will happen if the Wii or 3DS of the Mii living on the island breaks down? It's sad to think about, but at the same time, I also feel like Mii could somehow fix it.
■ Tightening Last year, on February 24, Russia invaded Ukraine. In 2013, Russia enacted a law prohibiting the "propaganda" of "non-traditional sexual relations (homosexuality)" to minors. In 2017, a legal amendment decriminalized domestic violence.
The fact that "Miitopia" was released with an R18 rating also caused a big stir, as it was caught by this “propaganda” clause. "Tomodachi Life" might also be included.

Additionally, last November, it became a problem that the Shinto Political League distributed a discriminatory booklet at a meeting of the Liberal Democratic Party's parliamentary group that described homosexuality as a "mental disorder" and an "addiction." Frankly speaking, I feel that Japan's stance on LGBTQ+ issues is very close to the situation described above in Russia. If a "homosexual propaganda ban law" were to be enacted in Japan, it would not only restrict the release of games related to Mii but also other imported games and works. I dread the thought that it could even lead to the halting of distribution of second-hand copies of 'Tomodachi Life' and 'Miitopia.'

The direction of Japan's game industry is also influenced by the atmosphere among users. Until now, perhaps you could adopt the attitude that as long as you could play your favorite games, you didn't care about anything else. This was because Japan was perceived to (comparatively still) have "money," and it was a country with many people who could afford to be insensitive and not care about others. Moreover, I think there was a sort of tacit racial leniency as "an island nation with strange customs in East Asia."
However, such excuses will no longer be acceptable. We are entering an era where we must feel ashamed of the business practices that have relied on such excuses. Therefore, I sincerely hope that those who love Mii and read this blog will seriously think about the future, including politics.
And, based on that, I want you to boldly wish for the development of a sequel to 'Tomodachi Life: New Life.'
"From tomorrow, I will try my best."
The next election is the second half of the unified local elections on April 23rd. Why not seriously consider how you want Mii to be portrayed in the future as one of the starting points?
--- --- --- ■Supplementary information The day I wrote this article, April 18th, was a time when local elections were looming in Japan.
On May 19, 2024, it became clear that a Japanese lesbian couple sought asylum in Canada, being recognized as refugees due to compound discrimination against women and LGBTQ+ in Japan. We live in an environment so severe that we need to seek asylum. Nintendo, the creator of 'Tomodachi Life,' is unfortunately based in Japan and sometimes absorbs the discriminatory expressions of Japanese society. This issue extends beyond games to other media like manga and anime. Feminist groups that point out these problems often face SLAPP lawsuits and other forms of harassment, making it a serious social issue that rarely comes to light.
・日本人の同性カップル、カナダで難民認定 「迫害に根拠ある恐怖」 https://www.asahi.com/articles/ASS5L2F7MS5LUTFL002M.html ・Colabo’s Fights against Sexual Exploitation and Misogyny in Japan Today | Webzine-KYEOL As you may know, in May 2014, before the release of "Tomodachi Life," it became big news that same-sex marriage was not possible in the game. At the time, I must confess, I had little understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and didn't fully grasp why this caused such anger. I believe most Japanese people felt the same.
The answer is that Japan is a society that adheres to the standard that "marriage is between a man and a woman."
Japan is a country that is (for better or worse) susceptible to external pressure. When former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori made sexist remarks during the TOKYO Olympics, it was thanks to women around the world standing up that we finally managed to bring him down. The sad fact is that women's suffrage in Japan is shorter than his age. The reality is that few people can access the Japanese feminist communities and LGBTQ+ communities, and they are quite exhausted.
I live in a rural area (HOKKAIDO) and have never directly participated in these communities, which is an issue. Feminism in Japan feels like it belongs to those in urban areas, who can attend university, who have money, and who can participate in communities.
At the same time, this means that anti-feminists can easily infiltrate feminist communities if they have the funds.
I think Japan's situation regarding LGBTQ+ is close to Russia. Women's wages are 75% of men's. I live as a woman in this Japanese society. I encountered feminism in 2017 when Yumi Ishikawa started the hashtag activism #Kutoo, a play on #MeToo. Online visibility of feminists allowed us to see what books and media they were consuming. I was fortunate that when I encountered feminism, K-feminism, including Cho Nam-joo's "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982(KO:「82년생 김지영」 JP:「82年生まれ、キム・ジヨン」)" was spreading in Japan, and I rode that wave.
(Postscript 2024/05/26 Upon rereading, I realized there might be some confusion here. In 2017, the global hashtag movement #MeToo occurred, and I was shocked by Shiori Ito's case and the reports on it. Gradually, women's accusations started to accumulate, and although I felt I wanted to share something as well, I couldn't put my thoughts into words. This led me to read many books and articles about feminism. Among these, Yumi Ishikawa's #Kutoo (2019) movement emerged, the Flower Demo, public discrimination by a certain university professor, and the related lawsuits.)
I learned that Japan is a family-centric society, that we are bound by it, and that what I thought was "normal" since childhood was not "normal." Our rights are incomplete, and human rights education, including sex education, has not been conducted.
You may know famous feminists like CHIZUKO UENO and YOKO TAJIMA, but their books did not reach us. Japanese bookstores rarely carry feminist books. As mentioned earlier, women's wages are 75% of men's; it's not that we don't buy books but can't afford to. Moreover, many Japanese women are burdened with household chores and have no time to read.
The same applies to other cultures. There's no time to play games, no time for hobbies, but we're told to stay beautiful. The word "Jyoshi-ryoku" (women's power) became a buzzword in 2009. "Jyoshi-ryoku" is a term similar to "Tradwife," meaning always being cute, good at cooking, and perfectly entertaining men. It became a buzzword, and we were swayed by it.
Do you know what happened in 2009?
↑It's the year when the DS version of ”Tomodachi Collection” was released. Now, AI like Chat GPT has advanced greatly, allowing us to communicate like this (although it's still somewhat unstable).
The 10th-anniversary article touched on these social issues in Japan and addressed Mii fans, but it didn't get much response in Japan.
Japan still neglects the word "human rights." It is a country full of elderly people who do not get angry even if taxes are pocketed by suited old men. And I am one of the women sighing in that society. In Japan, making statements about feminism attracts trolls from all sides, creating a situation where even a small corner blog like this has to remain vigilant.
...Thank you for reading this long piece. Let me say a bit more. The point I want to make is that a society where many people suffer from various difficulties happening around the world is not only challenging for us but also for Mii. I hope for a society where it's easier to live, not only for the cute residents living on this small island but for everyone.
And I believe that applies to you, the one reading this text. I hope the English is coming across well. Thank you to ChatGPT and DeepL (and to all those developers and individuals striving for ethics), truly.

Kaiju Week in Review (November 5-11, 2023)
Raven Banner has opened preorders for their impressive Shin Ultraman Blu-ray. I don't which is more surprising—the new subtitle translation for a movie that came out last year or a new audio commentary for a Toho kaiju film. Alex Rushdy and Kevin Derendorf recorded the commentary, so it's sure to be extremely informative. The film itself should look better than the Cleopatra release too, as it's on a 50 GB disc instead of a 25 GB.
youtube
ILM's animated Ultraman: Rising film has a teaser. Visuals are striking; dialogue seems generic, though there's not much to go on. I am naturally enthralled by the host playing baseball professionally. His uniform is weirdly logo-free, but he may be on the Yomiuri Giants, the "Yankees of Japan" who currently inhabit the Tokyo Dome. The New Tokyo Dome in the trailer has a powerful force field in place of a roof, though physical shielding can be seen moving into place later. You get the feeling that this city is pretty used to kaiju.
There's a new kaiju manga on the way from Hiro Nakamichi—Kaiju on the Earth: Volcanus. It's based on a 2019 board game where players manage the response to a kaiju attack, and the first chapter will go live on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website on Christmas Eve. Hopefully an English scanlator or publisher picks it up.
The Ultraman Blazar manga, meanwhile, already has a scanlator on the job. I haven't had a chance to read much of it yet, but the art is quite impressive. And much further down the line, Marvel will be reprinting its 70s Godzilla comic as part of its Marvel Omnibus line next October. Their previous reprint of the series in 2006 was a black-and-white paperback with cheap paper; this promises to be an upgrade in every way. Seeing it with digitally reconstructed color will certainly be interesting too (h/t Maser Patrol).
youtube
A VR game called Godzilla Kaiju Wars dropped some screenshots just in time for (shameless plug) Wikizilla to squeeze it into our Megaguirus Kaiju Profile. Manda and some smaller, original enemies are also in it, and it should be showing up in arcades next year. Another Godzilla arcade game dropping in 2024 is the exceedingly silly-looking Godzilla vs. Kong Smasher. And while most everyone sharing them was relentlessly DMCA'd, a video and a few screenshots leaked out from the mobile game Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers. You control a team of humans instead of monsters, so that's already strike one. Cool to see a comic-exclusive monster (Death Jackal) in it though.

Looking for Ouran High School Host Club : BONUS EPISODES, MUSICAL, SUBTITLES
Hello :) I need your help <3
I am looking for Ouran High School Host Club different things :
If you have them, or know where to find them or whatever how it would be great ! I’m looking for these things (if it’s possible) in good quality or HD, WITH subtitles and/or in English, French, Spanish, Italian ; directly integrated into the video, or as a side file, it doesn't matter.
I have been looking for everywhere for longtime but sadly no results :'(
~DRAMA/SERIE/LIVE ACTION MOVIE~
Apparently there is an episode (with the actors I think) (I don't even know the length, the name/title) that happens BEFORE Haruhi arrives at school. Club life etc I think. I couldn't even find a name, a title. (On a blog just someone who said that there was this episode before). Called episode 0 on TV show time. (July 2011?)
And also there are 4 small bonus episodes (January 2012, 1 episode per month) of 5 minutes which were released before the film to promote the film. At the time it was released exclusively on mobile sites in Japan.
I found them compiled but it’s in low quality and WITHOUT SUBTITLES. They want to organise Haruhi's birthday something like that and she wants to leave the club. The title in English is : Haruhi's Happy Birthday Battle OR (in Japanese) : Haruhi no Happy Birthday Daisakusen ( 桜蘭高校ホスト部 〜ハルヒのハッピーバースデー大作戦〜 ) ?
And the subtitles of the Making Of of the movie
~MUSICAL :~
I am looking for the 3 versions of the Musical of Ouran : Kageki Ouran High School Host Club Fine (I don’t know if it’s the same title for the 3 musicals ? and if the 3 have been recorded ?) 1st musical : January 2022 2nd musical : december 2022 3rd musical : december 2023
And the subtitles in Japanese in ROMAJI for the songs ?
All the backstages of all Musicals, (I don’t know if they have recorded this ?)
(sorry for my english)
Thank you so much. <3

What a difference 42 years makes juxtaposition of Honda City & Honda Motocompo, 1981 and Honda SUSTAINA-C Concept & Honda Pocket Concept, 2023. In the early 1980s Honda introduced the City small hatchback along with the Motocompo, a tiny folding motor cycle that was designed to tuck inside the City's boot. A this year's Japan Mobility Show Honda have presented the SUSTAINA-C Concept, a small electric car made of acrylic resin that is recycled and reused. The Pocket concept is a tiny folding electric bike that fits inside the SUSTAINA's rear hatch. The Motocomp was only on sale for 2 years before it was withdrawn due to lack of demand. No production plans have been announced for either of the 2023 concepts

Russian cruise missile violated Polish airspace
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 12/30/2023 - 12:15 in Military, War Zones
On December 29, a cruise missile launched by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation violated Polish airspace during a target attack in Ukraine.
The incident occurred at 7:12 a.m. local time, near the Poland-Ukraine border. According to the Polish Armed Forces, the missile re-entered Ukrainian territory after approximately three minutes in Poland's airspace.
Map showing the place where the Russian cruise missile would have entered Polish airspace on December 29. (BBC infographic)
In the X, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said that the object entered through the Ukrainian side of the border and was observed by the country's air defense system, penetrating about 24 miles into Polish airspace and disappearing after less than three minutes. He also stated that air defense troops were mobilized to identify and find the object.
The flight trajectory of the missile was continuously monitored by Polish and Allied radar systems. Polish air defense systems were in readiness and F-16C/D fighters were sent to patrol the area where the missile crossed Polish airspace.
In addition, to verify the radar data, ground forces, air forces and territorial defense troops were mobilized to track the trajectory of the missile on the ground.
President Andrzej Duda called an emergency meeting on security; NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg released a statement on X saying he talked to Duda about the “missile incident” and said that NATO remains vigilant and monitoring the situation “as the facts are established.”
This incident was part of a major Russian attack involving twelve Tu-95MS Bear-H bombers, each launching Kh-55/Kh-555/Kh-101 cruise missiles, along with Tu-22M3 Backfire-C bombers that launched eight Kh-22/Kh-32 supersonic cruise missiles. More than 90 cruise missiles were used in the attack, with most allegedly intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense noted that the combined Russian attack used more than 90 cruise missiles of the types mentioned, 36 Shahed-136 attack drones, S-300/400 anti-aircraft missiles in ground attack mode. In addition, five MiG-31K Foxhound fighters each launched a single Kinzhal ballistic missile launched from the air.
Ukrainian authorities said that at least 144 people were injured and that many others probably remained buried under the rubble.
According to the spokesman of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, Russia “apparently launched everything it had” against targets throughout Ukraine. Surprisingly, the attack did not seem to involve any Kalibr cruise missiles launched by ships or submarines, with long-range Russian bombers bearing the weight of the operation.
