Demon!Edwin Au

Me and a pal have been throwing this idea around for a little bit and I'm obsessed so here's a Demon!Edwin AU:

Edwin still crawls out of hell around the same time Charles is dying, but really wasn't expecting to find a very much still living human

So, as to not scare him to bad (the guy's dying, and Edwin certainly isn't a cruel demon), Edwin takes human form

He's... seen those enough to get it right...right?

So Charles, in his dying moments, meets Edwin. It's just that his limbs are a little too long, his joints twist just a bit too far, eyes just a little too lifeless

Oh, and he looks like he's from the early 1900s. So Edwin lies and says his a ghost- which Charles believes, until he's a ghost himself.

In which Charles figures that Edwin definitely isn't a human, but it's not like he's doing any harm, is he?

At first, Edwin doesn't particularly care for this human- he's just another one off to his afterlife, and Edwin is far more concerned with getting used to this new body.

But this human is...kind of charming, actually. and when he decides to stay with Edwin? Well, Edwin has 30 years to fully figure out his human/ghost persona.

Onto more general stuff:

Edwin doesn't particularly care about mortal life- human beings are like little ants to him, they live, they die and go to their afterlife.

But to Charles? Other people, especially helping them, is important to him- and Charles is important to Edwin.

So Edwin tries. They form the Dead Boy Detectives, and the plot of the show moves on!

That 'We didn't matter. Him and I' scene is mainly about Charles, but he slots himself in there to not only because it somewhat reflects how demons treat each other in hell, but because Edwin is extremely distraught about how anyone could treat Charles the way most people in Charles' life did.

Overall, Edwin is very bad at being a demon, but only a little bad about being a human ghost.

just as a note, i haven't seen my little pony since i was like. 11. and also i don't think i watched beyond twilight becoming an alicorn. my knowledge of later seasons mostly comes from horsecomix. so if i say anything that contradicts the Horse Lore, sorry about that.

ok now for individual designs.

yuma is a unicorn, mostly because mystery labyrinths require him to be able to hold a sword and talk at the same time. in addition to his memories, he lost his cutie mark in the pact, so everyone who sees him is like "damn you're an amnesiac AND a blank flank? pick a struggle". he doesn't have any accessories by default, but he probably gets a little hat in the rain + his cape in the mystery labyrinth. he was the first pony i drew, so his face looks a little janky. i struggled with drawing the ponies from any angle other than a perfect sideview, and the snouts/mouths were the hardest parts by far. the front view i did for yuma was a bit easier than the 3/4 view i did for most of the cast, but it was still tougher than i expected. pony artists who mimic the style of the show have all of my respect.

shinigami's spirit form was changed a little bit, although it was already so abstracted compared to a real human that i didn't feel i needed to change much in order to make her fit into the pony universe. i just swapped her horns out for wings and gave her a horn. i also removed her thumbs and made her colors closer to her human (er, pony) form. she's no longer a "death god" in the traditional sense, now being the "princess of death" in the same way twilight is the princess of friendship or cadence is the princess of love. she was sealed away because she was shit at her job (just killed a fuckton of people for no reason) but anypony who stumbled across the book she was sealed in can make a contract w her just like in rain code canon. obvi this is a little dark for the actual mlp universe, they wouldn't be putting a trigger-happy murder princess in their rated y cartoon, but this is the same fanbase that made fuckin. cupcakes and rainbow factory and a whole slew of others that make the main characters of mlp infinitely more fucked up than canon shinigami ever was. so i feel like we can have a little suspension of disbelief here.

shinigami's true form is an alicorn, obvi. she's a god princess, she's gonna be an alicorn. i tried to refrain from giving the characters too many accessories to better mimic the simpler mane 6 designs, but shinigami looked so naked with just the crown. so she also got her flower and little necklace. i didn't even attempt to put her hair in braids, since drawing her face at that angle was such a challenge already. upon posting this, i also realize i forgot to give her a tail. just imagine any tail you want on her. pin the tail on the shinigami. her cutie mark has the same dark void effect as nightmare moon's, although i can't remember if luna also has it as well. regardless, it's a visual tie-in to nightmare moon, who has a similar "princess banished to an inanimate object" thing going on. the actual cutie mark itself is two bones, representing death in a cutesy cartoony fashion. i was gonna do a skull and crossbones but then i realized. no one knows what a human skull looks like. there's no people. and i am NOT about to draw a fucking horse skull. so, bones it is.

yakou is probably the one i'm proudest of! i feel like i really captured the essence of the background pony in him. i feel like i could see him hanging out with lyra heartstrings and dr. whooves and i wouldn't bat an eyelash. his hair is a little longer than in the original design but i think it looks cute so it's fine. his cutie mark is an umbrella because his calling as a detective leads him to protect others like an umbrella protects you from the rain, plus kanai ward has its whole Thing. and he can be kind of a gloomy person at times, very pessimistic. he's an earth pony because he's just a normal guy, no forte in canon and stuff like that.

makoto was probably the trickiest to actually design. the element of mystery is super important in the original character design, but he was able to still have some skin exposed since almost all of the character designs in that game have a skintone of "homestuck white". in mlp, where coat colors can be any color of the rainbow (and the colors outside of the rainbow), makoto would lose that element of mystery. so, while i generally try to avoid putting the ponies in clothes, makoto kind of needed them. he's got his full suit and a set of gloves and white shoes for his hooves. instead of being a sort of "paper plate" mask, he's got a rubber halloween mask that extends past his neck instead. don't ask how the mane comes out of the mask. we don't ask how canon makoto's mask stays on with no straps, so don't ask about this one. the mask goes over his horn, so it blocks out most powerful magic, but basic spells like levitation are still possible with a bit of effort. the pants of his suit hide his cutie mark, and when asked about what it is, he gives a different answer each time.

kurumi isn't a super complicated or in-depth design. just a cute lil earth pony with a cutie mark of a speech bubble, since she does a lot of information gathering via talking to others. in hindsight, i should've given her freckles in the same color as her body outline. imagine she has freckles please. thank you.

fubuki is the design where i actually got the courage to attempt a braid. no idea if it looks good, i didn't use a reference and my hair is too short to braid it myself. i wanted an earth pony in the core group of nda members, and i was sort of torn between her and desuhiko. however, i'm a personal believer in the "all ponies can use magic on some level" theory, and that theory posits that earth ponies have a tendency to be able to use the intrinsic magic of their planet in subtle ways. applejack can enhance her physical strength without really doing anything consciously, and most importantly, pinkie pie can bend the laws of reality for The Bit. i think time travel is kinda like bending the laws of reality for The Bit. plus, desuhiko's disguise ability is kinda like an illusion, which feels like more of a unicorn ability. her cutie mark is a clock. because. uh. you know.

desuhiko is a unicorn for reasons i mentioned in fubuki's notes. his backpack is worn like a saddle, but he can still use it to disguise himself like in rain code canon. his cutie mark is the bag with a star on it, hinting that there's a superstar (him) in the bag. not much to say about him other than that.

vivia is a pegasus. since his forte allows him to fly, it makes sense for him to be able to fly in his base form as well - he'd get used to the flight powers inherent to his ability a lot quicker if he could already do it. he's definitely more of a fluttershy than a rainbow dash in terms of how he uses his ability to fly. he prefers to walk, but if his legs get tired, he'll switch to flying for a little bit. but then both his legs and his wings get tired and he takes a little nap. that's what the pose is meant to be, altho it does look a bit like he's flying. his cutie mark is a disappearing flash shape, as his spirit form is invisible and he tends to disappear into the background in general. someone in the rain coat server told me he looks like stoney pony and i haven't been able to get that out of my mind.

halara was the last pony i drew, because i love them and wanted to get as much pony-drawing experience as i could before turning them into an equine. can't have my pookie bear looking like shit! they are also a pegasus, but not for forte reasons like vivia. rather, they just do impressive feats of athleticism on the reg, and i feel like they would be a great flyer as a result. imagine the scene where yuma calls for help while being detained by seth and the peacekeepers. a blue and purple bursts onto the scene from the fucking clouds and halara is divebombing the peacekeepers. that'd be sick as fuck. their cutie mark is an eye, because postcognition is all about sight.

Plzzz will you write more about your Janky AU ideas the people want to hear them

Asbhjbkh I leave the internet alone for three (3) hours and my dumb ideas have developed a fanbase! (Genuinely) Lovely. Honestly I haven’t thought it through too far, I just can’t help but think that an anti-psychic-terrorism organization that has now been rendered nearly useless would show it a bit more than it does in the second game.

I think there would be more old, Ford-like military guys around, who now can’t really do their jobs as well as they did before but hey, there’s nobody to replace them! And there used to be vast laboratories in a tunnel network underground, but the tunnels proved structurally unstable so Sasha has been “temporarily” moved to a series of Quonset huts near the quarry. But then the tunnels were only partially restructured due to budget cuts so the archives moved into the stable portion and the lab is stuck outside indefinitely. The Quonset huts don’t have a backup generator, if the local grid goes down, who knows what could happen!

Speaking of the archives, the Psychonauts record-keeping is a mess. It used to be that the separate departments were responsible for their own archives, but as activity dwindled, all the records were consolidated into one archive… except for the ones that went missing in the switch. Maybe Kelvin will find some clues he needs in some forgotten records someday!

A quarry is not the best place to build a government organization headquarters. Especially since limestone, the stone quarried there, is such a soft rock. The Motherlobe itself was built on strong foundations, but several buildings erected since the beginning of the organization’s decline are facing serious structural issues, and some lie empty in disrepair due to lack of funds necessary to maintain them.

What little funding the Psychonauts still received is horribly mismanaged, in any case. Possibly due to the fact that they do not have an accountant. They used to have an accounting department, but slowly every employee got work elsewhere, retired, passed away, or in one case disappeared without a trace, so the management of funds is done by the Grand Head and heads of Research, Threat Detection, Weapon Development, and Field Agency, in a meeting at the beginning of every month. Large amounts of money occasionally disappear, but it would take time and energy that the organization doesn’t have to look into it further.

Idk this might not be the sort of information you’re looking for, but it’s what I can think of off the top of my head.

Friendly Fire - Chapter 9

Jan felt a stirring in her chest. A pain. A burning warmth so powerful, so consuming, it unseated her. She felt the pulling of her body to the older woman’s. Almost as if by itself.

If Jan knew any better she’d say it was her soul attempting to rip through the confines of her flesh to reach Jackie’s. To press the open wounds of their past pain against each other until it didn’t hurt so much anymore. Or at least until they could stomach the hurt.

Until it was manageable.

The brunette met her gaze, her labored breathing the only indication she felt that same pulling sensation..

Jan met her halfway, the two women crashing together, the full weight of their bodies bruising and bumping in a way that made Jan ache.

Jackie held her. And Jan held her right back.

They didn’t speak. Didn’t cry. They just stood there, grasping at each other like lifelines. Like the world around them was crumbling and crashing and they were the only two left.

It felt like it.

I love the opening of VampDies, it's so upbeat and fun, the electro-swing music really fits the vibe I get from Draluc and Ronaldo as a mesh of old and new. The dancing also fits them very well as a slightly disjointed swing style. 

It made me imagine what the openings would be like for the AUs in the series, mainly the dance styles cause I'm not the best with music. I wanted to stick with Swing, both music and dance, as a theme in common between the different AUs. So here are my picks of dance style and ideas of music choice!

Canon

Obviously Canon already has its own dancing and music, but if I had to narrow the swing style down I would say it would be kinda like a Lindy Hop dance style with the music being the Electro-Swing I mentioned earlier.

Delta

This AU seems like it would be more actiony than canon with less gaggery and, if you include the fanart of Draluc looking overworked and wonderfully sloppy, it makes me lean toward a louder style of opening. Think big brassy sounds and the vibe of those fun old detective shows.

For the dance style I'm thinking a fast paced Jive dance, with quick movements and agression, cause this Draluc isnt as physically weak as his counterparts and he and Ronaldo are technically enemies not partners.

Inverse

This AU is fun. Inverse Ronaldo is portrayed as very cute and demure while Inverse Draluc is more stoic and proper in appearance, but they both have a bit of a wild? darker? side in that they're pretty much itching for a fight. Inverse Rona says they want to fight all the other Rona's in a tweet and Inverse Dora is an expert swordsman. 

I'm not sure on the music, something cool, but for the dancing I was thinking a mix of Modern Jive and Shag dancing. Modern Jive is a little slower, smoother, from what I saw, while Shag dancing involved a lot of quick but small footwork. I think it fits well with their dual personalities. Inverse Rona would be taking the ladies part of course because they deserve to be dipped sweetly by Draluc's twiggy arms.

Oneshot

Draluc in the AU is seen as softer than his counterpart and even frailer as it can take a longer amount of time to reform when sanded. Meanwhile Ronaldo is kinda legitimately cool with only a slight amount of patheticness to him, opposite of canon. The music would have to be sweet, upbeat and happy, but not fast otherwise Draluc couldn't keep up. For the dance I would say East Coast Swing, it's a little slower and has more rhythmic movements to it.

30 Year+

At this point, Ronadora is all but officially canon. Ronaldo is calm and cool in a way that denotes a growth in maturity and self confidence over the years, while Draluc is less of an imp and very suave. These two would be dancing a West Coast Swing, not as fast as canon but not as slow as inverse, a nice middle ground. It would also be more of a sensual dance, these guys know eachother carnally after all, with close holds and deep dips by Ronaldo's strong arms. What ever they are dancing to would have to be romantic, like a love song or something.

USO

This one is sad cause Ronaldo dosen't technically have a dance partner, Draluc is portrayed as a cloud of dust that surrounds him that can occasionally form limbs in many fan works. Ronaldo would be dancing a Neo-Swing style, its a swing dance that only needs one person so it fits this AU well, Draluc's arms can pop up during the janky arm movements too. Its actually a pretty upbeat and fast dance style and I like that, its a cool contrast to the dark storyline. Like those dark or sad animes with fun openings, its the only happiness you're getting. Chapters published.

Everything Stays—The Fell Dragon Grima interacts with his fellow dragons in the kingdom of Askr.  A writing challenge to tell a story in 300-700 words each.  Somewhat on hold until more dragon units are added to the game.  Two out of Fourteen stories published.

Can You Hear Your Heart Sing?—When you get close enough to your soulmate, your heart can’t help but sing in sheer joy at finding the person that is destined to love you forever; this causes problems when your soulmate is your also the person destined to be your enemy.  Slowburn Heropulchure Soulmate AU.  Multichapter story; draft has 722 words so far.

Somewhere Ages And Ages Hence—In exchange for being declared dead and saved from being imprisoned or executed for a crime they didn’t commit, the Reader puts their life in the hands of a strange man in a Rose uniform living out in the woods with his daughter.  Oblivious to his true identity (but not his true form), the Reader slowly falls in love with their new family.  Second-person Slowburn Reader/Sepulchure story, set during Book 3.  The Calamity Saga is unfortunately canon in this one.  Contains smut.  Twoshot; draft has 4,534 words so far.

Don’t You Dare Call Me Daddy—Though initially only taking the job for extra textbook money, Hero has to admit that it has some nice benefits.  Like getting pounded into a mattress until she can’t see straight by her old highschool history teacher.  Heropulchure Babysitter AU.  Contains smut.  Oneshot; draft has 508 words so far.

In Which The Lowblood Prince Saves A Dragon From A Princess—Prince Karkat of Prospit is sent to diffuse a situation between two princesses.  This would be fairly easy if not for the fact that one of said princesses was a dragon.  Old-ass Homestuck fic draft from 2015.  I think this was going to be fefkat.  Oneshot; draft has 1,481 words so far.

Tim And Dick Write A Yaoi—Sequel to The Bat And The Billionaire.  Dick Grayson and Tim Drake, the former and current Robins respectively, attempt to write their own “janky brucebat romance story” after the discovery that a market for such stories actually exists sends them into howling laughter.  The boys quickly grow bored of their story, but other players in the Batman mythos slowly find and add on to the document until it is completed.

Ain’t You Ever Hear Of A Harlequin Bat?—Harley Quinn’s dumped the Joker for good, and her new boytoy Bruce Wayne is keeping her safe in the public eye while her new partner Batman keeps an eye on the Joker’s activities in Gotham to make sure it stays that way.  Look out Gotham City, Harley Quinn maybe be fighting crime instead of causing it these days, but joining the Batclan hasn’t done a thing to reign her in.

The Adventures of Supergirl—Kara Zor-El finds a small drone with a voice coming out of it, claiming (reluctantly) to belong to a hero named Querl Dox from the 31st century.  Though initially not wanting assistance and not wanting to interfere with the past respectively, the two quickly become partners when a supervillain attack turns out to be more than Kara can handle by herself.  Querl’s history documents say she saved the world countless times; they never said she didn’t have help.

DC Comics: Black Dadam Initiative

The Prince of Kahndaq—Though not exactly planning on ever stepping down, Black Adam is still a practical enough man to plan for the possibility that he might have to anyways; that plan includes the task of choosing an heir for the throne of Kahndaq.  With no living descendants and no living mortals worthy of his kingdom, Black Adam comes to realize that the only being alive that could truly make a claim for his throne is current champion of Shazam: Billy Batson.  Not that Billy is going anywhere without his co-champions to back him up.

Welcome Home Uncle Teth!—After 5,000 years hurtling through space, the last thing that Black Adam had expected to see was not that the wizard Shazam had chosen a new Champion, but that said champion and his companions would welcome Black Adam with open arms as if he was some long lost relative instead of an enemy.  Perhaps—perhaps he might wait a bit to destroy them all.  It... has been an awful long time since anyone was happy to see him...

Love Like You—A series of cute oneshots of Grima and the Summoner in various situations.

We Are Ready (We Are Many)—Legion finds himselves smitten with the Summoner after they unwittingly become the first person to treat him and his brothers with unconditional kindness.  When Reese and Clarisse join the Order of Heroes, he can’t help but feel... jealous as his Summoner offers them the same treatment.  Contains smut.

Imposter—This masked swordsman, prior to what he says, cannot be Marth.  Camus has fought Marth, and while this stranger is close, he isn’t the real deal.  From what Camus can tell, he isn’t even a he at all...  Camus/Lucina crackshipping.

Penance—Titania finds the Black Knight in Askr long before any of her fellow mercenaries are summoned, and while she knows that his life is Ike’s to take, there is no way that she can bear to let the man live even a second more.  At least, no way until she realizes that the Black Knight wants her to kill him; there’s no valor in killing a man who wants to die.  Which, she supposes, leaves them at a bit of an impasse.  Titania/Zelgius crackshipping.

Google: How Do I Escape Another World?—A college student finds herself embroiled in a sudden inexplicable war as the Summoner of Askr; too bad she comes from a world without Fire Emblem so she doesn’t know who or what anything is.  At least she has her phone with her to look things up in the real world and keep in touch with her friends... Creation Of The Brand—The brand of a Divine Dragon signifies a blood pact between dragons and the men that worship them.  In the early days of the nation that would become Rigel, a young tribal leader petitions her god to grant them someone worthy of becoming King.  Reader/Duma.  Contains smut.

All But Invincible—Zeke finds his memories returning much quicker after joining the Rigelian army under Jerome’s command; unlike in canon, this time he makes sure to tell Tatiana about what he’s discovered, leading to changes in the upcoming war with Zofia.  Tatizeke AU.

Sable Blood—Tatiana finds a coffin washed up on the beach, and the man isn’t human: he’s a vampire.  A young vampire, one with little power, and littler bloodlust still.  Instead of wanting to dominate the village, he’s indebted to it, and begins working to make their home an easier place to live... Something that catches the eye of the vampiress Nuibaba, whom holds this region under her iron grip.  Tatizeke AU.

Hello?  Hello?  Are You There?—In modern day Valm, long after all the gods have died and all the magic is considered little more than a myth, Tatiana moves into a house on the coast after returning to her old hometown—and finds an old ghost haunting it as she sleeps.  Tatizeke AU.

Fire Emblem Tellius Saga

Black Dawn—Sothe didn’t come in time and Micaiah was unable to escape enemy capture, leading the soldiers to bring her to a surprised General Zelgius visiting from mainland Begnion.  Not seeing any way to free her without revealing himself, Zelgius kills the soldiers and escapes with Micaiah, joining the Dawn Brigade and continuing his master’s plans at the cost of his life in Begnion.  Micaiah/Zelgius AU.

Absolution Of The Queen—Yune is able to heal the Black Knight before he perishes from his wounds, and Zelgius survives to see the end of the war.  Micaiah gives him a public pardon when she is crowned Queen in order to not deprive the struggling people of Daein of one of their few heroes, something Zelgius finds too forgiving to bear.  Then she requests that he marry her in order to strengthen the throne.  Micaiah/Zelgius AU.

The Branded King—Zelgius is normally able to smother his conscience without much issue, but one order from Ashnard suddenly strikes a chord.  The Mad King challenges his knight to a duel to the death for his ideals, and claims Zelgius as his heir upon losing.  Later, an attempt to reconcile his dual identities leads Zelgius to both cut off his ties with Begnion and reveal his true nature.  Thus begins the reign of the Branded King.  Micaiah/Zelgius AU.

What We Talked About—Ike did return from his journey one day, though he never again set foot in the nations of man.  Part of the reason he’d left was to find himself after living so much of his life fighting a war.  And part of it was to learn to become someone that could stand on equal footing with the woman he loved.  Ike/Lethe AU.

Happy Family—Lillia is able to hold on long enough for Greil and Elena to flee Daein.  Zelgius accidentally bears his brand to Greil, who offers him a chance to escape.  Lehran’s Medallion never changes hands with someone who could not withstand its power.  And the world is a happier place.  Everybody Lives AU.  Micaiah/Zelgius.

White Dahlias—Faced for the first time in his life with someone whom not only understands him, but appreciates his company, the Black Knight falls quickly and completely for his maiden.  It was easy to shove his feelings aside at first for the sake of the mission—but then he started coughing up flower petals.  Micaiah/Zelgius Hanahaki Disease AU.

Diplomatic Relations—Micaiah was never spirited away to Daein, but declared a bastard child and thrown into the ranks of the servants with only the grace of Prime Minister Sephiran keeping her from being executed instead.  Years later, an envoy from the country of Daein arrives in Begnion, and Micaiah encounters the Black Knight while tending to her royal sister.  Micaiah/Zelgius No War AU.

Red Bloodied Armor—Formerly written for NaNoWriMo, in serious need of rewriting.  While on the voyage home from yet another failed attempt at finding out who she used to be, Serenity’s carriage is attacked by a dragon, forcing her to take cover in a nearby castle in the woods.  Though her monstrous host is all too happy to let her stay as long as she wants and keep his daughter company, without any means of contacting the outside world, there’s no way she can leave.  And on top of that, there seems to be something else going on in the castle that no one wants her to know about... A Warm Heart(h)—Xan never did recover his spark after the Hero defeated his Magman and headed to Serenity’s Inn for a job as promised.  Though admittedly terrified at first, it didn’t take all that long for the innkeeper to warm up to him.  Everyone deserves a second chance, right?  Serenity/Xan AU.

Dragonfable Awakening—Serenity joins the army after a a small detachment saves her from bandits on her way to garner trade deals for her inn.  It works out well enough: the people are nice, and she’s quite useful as a cook and a healer.  On top of that... there is a certain wyvern lord who just keeps catching her eye.  Serepulchure Fire Emblem Awakening AU.

Fate/Doom Knight—Serenity tried out the summoning circle on a lark.  Magic wasn’t real, and surely summoning spirits wasn’t either.  So why is there suddenly a very tall man in red armor in her living room asking if she’s his master?  And what the heck is a Holy Grail War?  Serepulchure Fate/Stay Night AU.

Firefly—A Star Captain wakes up in a field shortly outside of Falconreach and finds himself a stranger in a strange land.  How did he get here?  How can he get home?  At least the locals seem friendly enough...  Based loosely on conversations with @tmae3114.  Serenity/Sys-Zero AU.

Ancient Alphabets—Miraak has a name on the inside of his wrist that no one can read.  His soulmate’s name.  It is faded and white; his soulmate hasn’t been born yet.  His fellow priests console him as the years go by and his soulmate has still not been born, but Miraak is a very patient man.  He can wait.  He can wait all that he needs to until the time comes that the Last Dragonborn finally meets him.  Miraak/LDB Soulmate AU.

To Steal A Champion—As Nightingale of Nocturnal, the Dovahkiin is far better at thievery than the average mortal.  Better enough, apparently, to steal the bonds tying Miraak to Hermaus Mora for her own use.  She was just trying to keep Mora from killing him so she could kill him herself; now what’s she supposed to do with a Champion?  Miraak/LDB AU.

The Holy Childcare War—Heroic Spirit EMIYA is summoned in the Archer class, but his Masters are both a young Rin Tohsaka and a young Sakura Matou before her family ever traded her away.  Still wanting to prevent his future from ever occurring, Archer decides to take his two small masters and run before their father can ruin their lives and set the catastrophic events of the Fifth Holy Grail War into motion.  Unsanctioned fan sequel/retelling of the Fate doujin “Childcare is War”.

Sakura Doraku—Kariya Matou wasn’t going to win the war, and he knew it.  But that doesn’t mean he can’t save Sakura.  Sacrificing his own soul and all of his command seals to power the required miracle, he was able to grant his servant Lancelot Independent Action A+, allowing him to linger in the material plane and protect Sakura indefinitely.  Seeking to obey his Master’s final orders and redeem himself for his crimes, Lancelot steals Sakura away from the Matou family and raises her as his own for the next ten years—when Sakura is chosen as a Master for the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Oleanders In June—As magus from an old but nondescript family, Pepper Malone never thought she would get to see a Holy Grail War, much less participate in one.  So when the war starts up in the middle of her hometown, she’s going to need all the help she can get just to survive it; especially with her monstrous knight of a servant jamming up the works.  OC/Berserkerlot.  Contains smut.

Pokemon

Seelonce Mayday—At the behest of her doctor, May finally sets out on her pokemon journey through the Hoenn region in hopes that the changing scenery, fresh air, and possibility of bonding with new friends and pokemon might help lessen her depression (in conjunction with regular medication of course).  Partly a retelling of ORAS with a splash of Emerald thrown in, partly an attempt to work out my own issues vicariously through helping May overcome hers.

So Now You’re The Very Best, What’s Next?—With his pokemon journey over, it’s time for Red to return to school like every other kid.  But, what other kid can relate to what he’s been through?  Blue might’ve become Champion just the same as Red did, but he didn’t take down a criminal organization while he was at it—and speaking of criminals, what’s Red’s mom going to say about Mewtwo...?

Raphael—Byron meets a new drinking buddy one night, a man with long white hair and bright blue eyes.  He meets the man again a few nights later, and a few nights after that.  It’s nice to have someone to talk to that gets him so well, but he can’t shake the feeling that maybe there’s a connection between his new friend and the sudden string of people being rushed to the hospital for nightmare-induced insomnia.

Transformers

Cadmus—Professor Sumdac is long dead from a lab accident, and his daughter Sari is tossed out from the company she apparently has no claim to.  Trying her best to survive on the streets, Sari finds a family in the old disembodied head her father used to keep in his lab.  An unsanctioned fan rewrite of My Big Sister The Spider.

Heterodyne—Soundwave escaped the Shadowzone much quicker than expected, though with no Megatron to serve and no war to fight, he’s left at a bit of a loss for what to do now... At least, until Knock Out vouches for him to the Autobots and reminds him that there are plenty of Decepticons who’ll be coming to Earth that don’t agree with Megatron’s order to disband.  Though his new life working with former enemies is less than ideal, at least Soundwave doesn’t have to put up with Starscream anymore; not that Miko isn’t a menace in her own right.  Junewave AU.

Black Noise—There is a temple hiding deep in the woods, and a monster hiding deeper still.  A monster bound in human form nearly thirty years ago from what June hears the locals say.  And now this monster is holding her son hostage in exchange for her help in returning it to its original form.  Reverse Beauty And The Beast Junewave AU.

Deep Cover—Vorns upon vorns after an incident in Autoboot Camp lead to him losing his memory, Longarm Prime begins to fear that he may secretly be a Decepticon spy after finding hints of an additional alternative mode.  Turning directly to Ultra Magnus for advice on how to deal with this potential information leak, Longarm learns that not only was he a spy—he’s Megatron’s right-hand man.

Miscellaneous

Feral—The Dark Warrior Project was not a complete failure, but it could hardly be called a success.  With most of his body changed and most of his mind locked away under a haze of dark eco and pain, a very different Jak is rescued from Baron Praxis’s prisons—leading to a very different revolution of Haven City, and a very different ending for many of the players involved. 

What’s In A Name?—No one actually calls themselves Guild Girl or High Elf Archer: Goblin Slayer is just terrible at remembering names.  Though oddly, he does still call himself Goblin Slayer rather than a conventional name.  Priestess, or Lucidia rather, wants to know why.

It’s Not About Goblins (But I Do Care)—Guild Girl and Cow Girl put up a good fight, but Priestess has won Goblin Slayer’s heart.  Unfortunately, Goblin Slayer’s backstory has left him with a few... issues regarding intimacy and displays of affection.  At least he’s trying?

Disarmament—What is there left for the Doom Slayer to do when all the legions of doom have been slain?  What is there left to live for now that he’s finally completed his goal?  There’s a brave new world out there in need of repairing after Hell invaded.  Maybe it’s time to help picking up the pieces.  A speculative ending to the 2016 Doom reboot series.

God’s Stone Crown—For unknown reasons, several players of the popular VRMMO God’s Stone Crown Online find themselves trapped as their characters within the game world, where things are much different than actually playing the game would lead one to believe.  There are many unfinished dungeons within the game that turn out to merely be unmapped within the world: maybe one of them could hold the key to escaping the game? Co-created with @nostalgiamascot.

The Miracles of Saint Maylis—302 years ago, Saint Maylis converted a demon to the light of the church, training him in the faith as she would any other.  300 years ago Saint Maylis lead an army against the encroach of a great evil, and never returned.  Now, the evil is returning, and the only one who can truly stop it is the only one left who was there: Sir Penetratus Iseley, the First Miracle of Saint Maylis.

Another Day In Kingfisher Bay—Welcome to idyllic Kingfisher Bay, home to a thriving superhero/supervillain population.  Would you like to spend your days cleaning up blood because one of the heroes took shelter in the wrong apartment again?  Get abducted by an alien overlord?  Or perhaps have a supervillain for a neighbor?  Try anything and everything here in Kingfisher Bay!

Journey To The Demon King—Yuliya is a simple cleric, tasked with guiding the Chosen Hero on his journey to slay the Demon King when they rise again.  So why is everyone so convinced she’s the Demon King’s next coming?  Do you see any horns under this habit???

That is hilarious I had no idea And LOL... yeah I am contemplating ideas bc I REALLY want Peepers to get a proper punk disguise... let him embrace the inner goth/punk nerd vibe instead of being a Spirit Halloween Prep lol. A black wig makes more sense for the cheerfit imo, but I bet it was decided as blonde because yellow fits Hater's theme and also Hater likes blondes LOL. I'm guessing the cheerfit must have been from a pile of stage costumes because I can totally see watchdogs dressed up as cheerleaders and doing cheer acts to cheer on Lord Hater: "H-A-T-E-R Who's the number one superstar? Lord! Lord Hater! Lord-Lord! Lord Hater, woo!"

For the au I imagined Peepers would use some fancy spytech contact lens to cover his iris to avoid retina scanner detection. The contact would also act as a physical mask, hiding his identity/making his iris look different and unrecognizable as "Peepers". A spy watchdog in "The It" used contacts as spy gear, so it seems like a fitting spy gadget for a mission like this. And since Peepers is wearing his 1/8th inch a day taller boots that Wander made lol, I think he may pass as a slightly petite watchdog instead of a very short "obviously Commander Peepers" watchdog. I also doubt Dominator would expect Mr. "Cartoon Napolean Complex" to ditch his tall helmet willingly, so seeing a watchdog in a wig that claims to have defected from the Hater empire is... sus. but not obviously Peepers at first glance. Or at least, I would assume so? More au stuff below:

(And I know Dominator basically gets caught by the WoY Space Cop "star force enforcement force" in the first episode of s3 based on Q&A, but I have no idea what SFEF look like beyond possibly being 3 characters, and maybe similar to Kid Cosmic's Earth Force Enforcement Force. So I'll just pretend that arc doesn't happen yet... lol... Let's just say she gets stranded on some deserted planet when her travel bubble pops instead.) In the Dominion au Peepers sets out to meet with Dominator before she fully rebuilds, so he has a chance to bribe her into agreeing to a team up. I imagined a really silly scene of CPeeps landing on the planet Dominator was stranded on to make contact with her. Dom's newly claimed area is a post-apocalyptic small town, nature overgrowing, but still desolate. --- Peepers walks out with his cheerfit disguise on (+ his helmet on), but as he sneaks towards her area of operations, he spots a large "DORKS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT" poster with pictures of Wander, Sylvia, Hater, and Peepers. Peepers slowly looks up at his helmet's GIANT lightning bolt, wondering if it may be a bit too obvious. ......................Nah! A tumbleweed rolls behind him, and he notices it gets stuck on a little dead tree, creating his perfect silhouette (Peepers+tall helmet). and not a millisecond later: BAM!!!!!!! the shrub gets SUDDENLY stopped to death, LASERED, and mass obliterated with a GIANT explosion from patrolling Dom bots, no pause, no chill, 100% maximum carnage. Peepers stares at the forming giant mushroom cloud as it rips. He gets all deflated taking off his helmet, and walks back to his ship, hopelessly muttering to himself: "Well there goes the last of my dignity..." --- lol Since Dom doesn't have her tech/backups anymore, she has to go off of her own memory to rebuild. Interplanetary communications are down but she managed to make electric powered Dom bots from scraps for protection and labor. They have basic salvaged scanners and laser weapons, but they run on batteries/janky engines and tend to be more unreliable than the previous Volcanium X powered Dombots. Her area is cleared of major vegetation to avoid allergies, as she is allergic to the flower that regrew the galaxy. Peepers presents himself to the bots, makes his pitch to Dominator through coms, and manages to get past the bot's crappy scanners/voice recognition, which identify him as a stranger. He then is escorted by the bots to meet Dom, who is busy repairing a ship. She is desperately trying to get it up and running again so she can get off planet and rebuild properly. She knows she can't use a watchdog as a hostage since lmafo the Hater empire literally does not care, but she is curious about what this weird defecting watchdog is all about. More TBD scenes happen and eventually Dom would agree to team up for the moment and after a bit they vibe enough that she gives Peepers a makeover, giving him the punk/goth outfit. (Mostly to rid of any bugs/spy coms, but when she finds none she's like :o oh this watchdog is for real for real stupid... maybe the story is legit.) The two could break into an abandoned shop to get Peepers a new look. Or maybe they fix the ship, fly to that city planet from "the night out", and rob a shop for valuables and clothes and have an evil bestie makeover montage with lots of stick ups and crime lol. I can image that city planet may be building back up by the time Peepers teams up with Dominator, and a seedy underbelly is always ripe for the Dominating. Still idk, I just REALLy want to keep that (stares at a giant explosion) scene with Peepers bc LOL it's very funny to me. That scene comes across better in animatic/comic format tho, i WILL draw it out one day.

you know what. i know dominator is 1) not one to fall for ur typical dumbass cartoony antics she is physically incapable of such and 2) she canonically stalked all of the other 4 mains for like a year or sometihng, SO SHE IS DEEPLY FAMILIAR.. WITH WHAT THOSE DORKS LOOK LIKE AND WHAT THEY SPEND THEIR TIME DOING WHEN THEY BREACH CONTAINMENT  but also. also. she’s a forgetful asF adhd kween who pretty much NEVER interacted with peepers (aside from that 1 time she bitchslapped him and he Died) so .  you know what. i think she honest to god would NOT recognize him in a decent disguise for at least… a good several minutes.. and then maybe if she DOEs  recognize him she’s just like idc i’m bored and this is myfavoritedorkybrandof entertaimnent…..  i will just go with this. also LMAO

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Jan was red-faced fury as she rounded one of the many green storage containers that littered the nearly abandoned shipping yard.

Jackie turned toward the sound of her voice, only a brief flash of surprise cracking her well worn mask. An anxious looking Crystal stood just behind her, rubbing the palms of her hands together nervously.

“My job,” Jackie said coolly. “One of us had to.”

“You’re a fucking asshole, you know that?”

Jackie scoffed. “Did you come here just to call me names or did you actually want to work this out?”

Jan crossed her arms in front of her, biting the inside of her cheek so hard she swore she tasted blood. Or maybe that was just the stench from the river burning its way into her body.

“What did you find?” She grit out.

Jackie didn’t smile at the small victory, didn’t even quirk the side of her mouth up, didn’t even raise her brow.

“You’d know if you were here.”

The same words from a week ago echoed in Jan’s ear. But they sounded sadder somehow. Distant.

Jan knew what Crystal meant now.

Jackie wasn’t acting like herself.

Jackie’s voice deepened impossibly, rumbling against Jan’s neck. “Oh, Sunshine,” she chuckled darkly, “you don’t want to play these games, not with me.”

But Jan was never very good at following the rules.

Which is undoubtedly what got her into this situation in the first place.

“Why not?”

“Cause I’ll win.” Jackie smiled wickedly, flashing her porcelain-white teeth in the process.

She looked like an animal on the prowl. A predator. And Jan felt acutely aware of the fact that she was the intended prey.

“You won’t.”

Jackie’s hands stopped their movements as the car began to slow and noise from the party could be heard from outside.

“I’ll make you a bet,” Jackie said. “By the end of the night, you’ll let me win - no, you’ll be begging me to.”

Jan maneuvered her way off Jackie’s lap, grabbing her purse with her left and pulling her partner toward the door with her right. “And if I don’t?” She asked cheekily.

Jackie stopped her, turning Jan around to look her deep in the eyes. “You’re in charge,” she said seriously.

Jan blinked at her slowly. “You mean like-”

“Like totally in charge.” Jackie nodded. “I won’t touch anything on the case without your permission. No phone calls to mafia folk, no secret meetings. I’ll defer to you on all matters.”

Jan balked at her statement. “You must be pretty damn sure of yourself.”

Jackie just smiled knowingly.

Friendly Fire  - Chapter 5

Jackie turned her attention back to Jan, demeanor softening the smallest bit. “The undercover… who was she?”

Jan felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up, unease pricking at the base of her spine. “No one.”

Jackie didn’t buy it.

“Were you sleeping with her? That why you’re trying to protect her?”

Jan rolled her eyes pointedly. “I don’t make a habit of sleeping with my co-workers.”

“Could have fooled me.”

“You’re an exception.”

“Should I be flattered?”

“You should be shutting your mouth.”

Jackie’s eyes were back on her, roaming the expanse of her face and body at the same time. Times like these, Jan couldn’t help but be reminded of their first meeting. How those eyes had seemed to look through her even then. Like Jan was helpless to stop Jackie from seeing all the way inside to her very core. It was frightening in the same way that it excited her.

To be seen like that.

To be known to another person.

Friendly Fire - Chapter 3

Jan pulled her mental file on Nicky forward and scanned it for anything interesting. She was young. Younger than Jan had imagined, with bleach blonde hair, a leather jacket, and a wicked glint in her eye. Not to mention her smooth accent. She was the epitome of the bad kid stereotype you met in high school, only Jan knew that the real danger here wasn’t peer pressure, but organized crime.

Jan held her own hand out. “Agent Sport,” she said gruffly.

Nicky quirked an eyebrow up at her. “So you are the one that was leaving all those messages.” Jan nodded simply, and Nicky smirked. “Hate to break it to you, ma belle, but if a girl doesn’t answer your messages after four years, she probably isn’t into you.”

Jan rolled her eyes, biting the inside of her cheek to keep from screaming. Of course their contact would be just as cocky and arrogant as all the others.

Nicky then turned her gaze to Crystal; the youngest woman staring wide-eyed at their witness.

“C-Crystal.” She managed to stammer out. “I’m Crystal.” She held out her hand, but rather than shake it as she had done with the others, Nicky pressed a soft kiss to Crystal’s hand, making the young recruit flush crimson.

Friendly Fire - Chapter 1

Jan didn’t make a habit of this.

So when she walked into the building Monday morning, iced coffee in hand, and she pressed the button for the fifteenth floor, she wasn’t expecting her world to change.

She held her keycard to the series of doors and let herself into the epicenter of the US government’s current operation to track down members of the mafia.

Before she could make it two steps, Crystal was handing her an updated file from the happenings over the weekend and trying to get her attention.

Jan ignored her impassioned pleas to wait and stop and let herself into her office… only to find a familiar brunette sitting at the desk with her feet propped up.

Jan took one look at Jackie and turned around to shoot a glare at Crystal.

“I was trying to tell you, boss. Higher-ups sent new eyes on the case.”

Jan didn’t give anything away, biting the inside of her cheek harshly, “CIA?” She asked.

Crystal nodded.

Jan turned back around to see Jackie smirking that infuriatingly sexy smirk.

Jan rolled her eyes.

The FBI agent suppressed a shiver at the way Jackie’s tongue curled around her name. She wanted to scream. How could this woman, this audacious, arrogant, asshole of a woman, pull these kinds of reactions from her? Why was she so powerless when it came to Jackie?

“Wh-Whatever happened between us in the past, it doesn’t matter anymore, okay?” Jan cursed her voice for coming out shaky.

“It doesn’t have to be in the past.” Jackie smiled predatorily.

“Oh, yes it does. There are rules about this kind of thing.”

Jackie shrugged. “Well, it can be fun to break rules. And you and I, we had fun, didn’t we?”

“That was before I knew who you were.”

“And now?”

“Now?”

“What about now? You still think I’m gorgeous? Still want to kiss me all over? Mark me up real good? Put me in my place?”

Jan breathed out shakily. “You’re a walking HR nightmare.”

Friendly Fire - Chapter 4

Jan woke up with hair in her mouth.

The important detail of that sentence being that it wasn’t her hair. The other important detail being that Jan didn’t immediately recoil at the long chocolate tendrils tickling against her face. Jan breathed in the scent of citrus and out the scent of wood.

There was also the smell of sex hanging in the air.

It all coalesced into a distinctly Jackie smell. Jan’s heart raced in her chest when her brain made the connection.

Jackie.

Jackie her co-worker.

Jackie her partner.

Jackie her worst fucking nightmare.
