As we all eagerly await the appearance of rock star Lestat I want to confess that when I first read "The Vampire Lestat" I was up to my eyeballs in hair metal. David Lee Roth, Sebastian Bach, Brett Michaels, Janie Lane, Joey Tempest, the dudes from Cinderella. . . so many gorgeous men with tight, lace up leather pants and enough hair spray to eat a hole in the ozone layer! God I remember the first time I saw David Lee Roth's assless chaps. It just fucking unlocked something in me. I don't know if they'll go down this route but God I hope so. Please let them.
