the difference between Jesse and Jane’s parents is Jane’s dad actually cared about her and tried to help her recover from her addiction. Jesse’s parents just said “stop” and told him he was a failure but didn’t do anything to help him. Jane’s dad made her go to support groups and things like that, he never gave up on her, he was always there. Jesse’s parents were never there for him. they didn’t really care about his health and well-being.

When Jane’s dad lost her, well yk what happened. but when Jesse left his parents like they told him to, not expecting to see him again, they didn’t care, really. they didn’t try to contact him and say “we miss you and we want to help you”

Jesse’s parents sucked and he deserved better.

Trying to think of a reason why Jane was clearly more important to Jesse than Andrea and I can’t think of anything other than racism (on the part of the writers).
