オルタナ系がKINDNESSなら、アメリカのJazzシーンで最も新しさを感じさせてくれる（あくまでもぼくの個人的な感想ですが）のが気鋭のドラマー、ジャマイア・ウィリアムス率いるこのERIMAJ（エリマージ）というスーパーユニット。ケニー・ギャレットに発掘されたJamire Williamsのドラミ���グによって産み出される超がつくほどの重厚なグルーヴは、麻薬的魅力に充ちていてやみつきになりそう（笑）とくにM-5の出だしなどが圧巻。全体を貫くサウンドのコンテクストは00〜10年代のヒップホップ／R&Bの感覚と、それ以前のコンテンポラリーJazzの担い手たちが築いた財産との融合、あるいはミクスチュア。加えて、トニー・ウイリアムスへのリスペクトなど。アルバムはUnrest（不安）という曲からはじまるけれど、古くからJazzを聴いている人でもコンフリクトは起こさず（笑）熱くなれるはず、なので、お薦めです！ #ERIMAJ #JamireWilliams #CONFLICT_OF_A_MAN
