Little writer hiatus, but chapter 3 of Child Safety Locks is up!
Snippet: "If the wind up in his office had been like stepping into a sauna fully clothed, the drive afterwards to Jefferson’s apartment was like an ice cold shower in comparison. "

Everyone I’m in a crisis I can’t find a fanfiction this is not a drill🔊
It was a Jamilton fic. Modern AU. Fake dating. All the good shit. Alex had trouble paying his tuition fee so he asked Jefferson for help. In exchange he had to go with him to Monticello and act like Thomas’ boyfriend for the family. Lots of pining, eventual happy ending etc etc.
Please help me I don’t know if I’m dumb (cuz I am) or it’s been deleted

Jamilton office au excerpt below 🫡
Jefferson stood in the middle of the elevator, his obnoxiously purple tailored suit was wrinkle free despite the long day, and his tie was loosened just enough to be annoyingly rakish. His eyes flicked up from his phone, locking with Alexander’s.
“Hamilton.” Jefferson said coldly.
“Jefferson.” Alex stepped in, immediately regretting his choice not to take the stairs.
For the first few floors the ride was silent with the exception of the rhythmic beeps that signaled their descent. Jefferson returned his attention to his phone, and Alexander tried his best to summon some kind of undiscovered magical power to make the elevator move faster, glaring intently at the glowing panel above the doors.
“You don’t have the votes, you know that, right?”
Alexander's head snapped towards him. “Excuse me?”
Jefferson didn’t look up from his phone. “I’m saying you can rant about how my department is ‘bleeding the company dry’ or something as equally dramatic as much as you want, but that doesn’t change the fact that your proposal is shit.” He turned to look at Alex, face neutral. Alexander had come to know Jefferson well enough in the past six months since his transfer from France to know he was seething underneath his cool exterior.
“My proposal is what this company needs to stay profitable,” Alex shot back, crossing his arms. “And I stand by it. You’re the one who insists on throwing money at flashy PR stunts instead of, oh, I don’t know, actual campaign strategies.”
Jefferson’s lips curved into a smirk. He nodded, “Ah, yes. Marketing advice from the man who thinks spreadsheets are more persuasive than a national television spot. Truly the visionary we all aspire to be.”
Alexander’s jaw tightened. “I’d rather be a pragmatist than a glorified salesman.”
That got Jefferson’s attention.
The man slipped his phone into his pocket, turning to face Alexander fully, and suddenly the elevator felt much smaller. Jefferson stepped forward, inches from him. “Glorified salesman?” Jefferson repeated. His voice was low and he leaned down far enough into Alex’s space that Alex could smell his cologne, something dark and amber-adjacent, there was the faintest hint of vanilla and - Alexander snapped out his thoughts. Jefferson had straightened his back and was looking at him expectantly, brows raised. Shit. The man had obviously said something - something extremely condescending if the smug look on his face was any indicator.
The elevator lurched slightly as it passed the second floor, startling both of them. Seconds later they were at the lobby. Thank you, elevator.
“You're insufferable, you know that?” Alex said, marching out, hoping the jab would be convincing enough that the other wouldn’t realize he had tuned out of their argument. He couldn’t accept another loss against Jefferson today.
Jefferson’s smirk widened, leisurely strolling out after him. “So I’ve been told. Doesn’t seem to stop you from hanging on my every word though.”
“Hanging on-?” Alexander froze and began to sputter. He scoffed. “Please. If I wanted empty words I’d turn on the infomercial channel. Hell, it’d be miles more entertaining than any of the inane bullshit that comes out of your mouth.”
Jefferson was walking past him now, and he chuckled, low and infuriatingly smooth. “Keep telling yourself that, Hamilton. You’re the one who’s going to come groveling to me when you can’t get enough support for your budget.” He spun around for a second, flashing Alex a wolfish grin, then pushed through the revolving doors.
Alexander refused to dignify him with a response; he did, however, aggressively flip the man off once he turned his back.

Foreplay.
Close-ups and text citations under the cut.

Bubble text from Hamilton's First Report on Public Credit and Jefferson's 23 May 1792 letter to Washington about Hamilton's proposed programs. The "edits" are mostly nonsensical but were so much fun to add.
