I’m thinking of including a few lines in Chapter 10 of the Family Curse fic. It’s the one where 9 yo Jamie shows up, and so does James, who thinks that baby Jamie is Jamie’s son. And Roy is the one who demands to know precisely why the fuck James would think his 23 yo son could have a 9 yo son.

And it would be a short blip where Georgie makes Simon promise not to have James killed. And everyone is looking at this giant clumsy Labrador stepdad with skepticism. And he just sort of waves the questions off by saying he was part of a gang when he was a youth.

Cause I like absurdist humor.

Jan knows the minimum. Like Jamie doesn't talk about it and doesn't admit anything about it but Jan knows that James is the reason Jamie fell out of love with football and why Jamie is resistant to go back to England at all.

He's never met James Tartt (and Jamie hopes that Jan never does) and he's never witnessed anything but he's not stupid and knows that Jamie is so much healthier without his dad in his life.

It doesn't get mentioned in this fic but it does in the prequel :)

I know it was meant to be a joke, but it kind of breaks my heart that S2 Jamie thinks the best way to make friends is to buy all his teammates PS5s. The way his logoc

Like he really thinks his likeability is tied to his talent, money and looks. The way he says what better thing to spend money on than love just screams to me low self value.

I really think he struggled to make friends his whole life and most of the people who came in his life like him for his talent, star potential and what he could do for them.

Which means when Zava comes along in season 3 he probably legit thought he was going to lose all his friends. Now, they didn't need him on the pitch. So now I just want to give him a great big hug.

His S3 storyline really helps him learn what true friendship is.

This cosplay was so so close to never seeing the light of day, as this was the aforementioned project I rage quit to procrastinate with Nekomancer on haha. I really adored the fionna and cake special (and adventure time in general) and wanted to cosplay from it for eons...although I will admit this project was intended to be "generic blue and silver winter regal outfit for a variety of characters" and it was a toss up on whether or not the first run was going to go to the Winter King/Simon or Jack Frost...but I couldn't find my jack frost wig so here we are!

This was my first time working a lot with velvet and low key....I loved it and would love to use it more.

I find this legit fascinating even outside of the Jamie of it all.

I call my stepmom mama with her, my dad, my half sister but never my older brother.

I call my stepdad by his first name UNLESS I am in his house with my siblings. It’s easier to just use dad in that capacity.

Every stepparent’s parents were Grandma and Grandpa. Even the one that I never met because she died decades before. Like that was Her Name™

But the Jamie part, is that I believe that Jamie always just called Simon by his name. But I could see him calling Simon’s parents grandma and grandad. For several reasons, and only some of them are about getting better birthday gifts.

But Jamie with a kid? I can really only imagine it in a few very specific cases. Fostering or adopting, possibly. Which would mean the title/name/whatever would be kid led. He’s not going to force something on a child.

So like my dad calls his stepfather by his first name. But us kids called him Grandpa. If Jamie had kids, do you think they would call Simon my his name?

I don't know if I see Jamie having kids so it's not something I've thought about, but I called my mom's stepparents grandma and grandpa so I think so!!

Thinking about angry teenager Jamie who has been and pushing to try and provoke Simon and the man just WILL NOT RISE TO THE BAIT. He responds to every insult with a smile and no comment. Seems not to hear any sarcasm. Is constantly baking Jamie’s favorite things.

Finally, Jamie can’t hold in his anger and just shoves Simon with enough force to have him stumbling into the kitchen counter. And then he’s horrified. His dad would have responded with a punch or a slap. Likely more. But Simon just looks a bit sad and says “I’m not going to let you hurt me physically, Jamie. Do you need space or do you want to talk? You just let me know what you need.”

And Jamie just crumbles.

Except…

All of Jamie’s family from his mom side, back and back generations and generations, have all had their time with the curse come. Jamie was old enough to remember when his mummy had hers at age 29.

And that was part of it. Every generation had it come to them younger and younger. No one knew what would happen when the ages converged. It’s one of the reasons Jamie has sworn to never have kids.

It’s part of what makes it a curse rather than a blessing. Cause even as they enjoy it…they wonder. Why did it start? How will it end?

I have a headcanon that because they were so poor growing up, once Jamie had money he either participated in an existing charity or made his own. To make sure Manchester’s kids could have good holiday presents available.

So one of their favorite things to do is go shopping together for some of the gifts! (They don’t deliver, the parents comeget them so it feels less like charity to the kids).
