“Did ye hear the commanding officer’s name? Or his rank?”
“Colum called him Captain, but I didn’t catch his name. I could only see him from the back. He was average height and build, perhaps a bit on the slender side. Straight dark hair that looked long enough to plait in the back. And his voice was oddly familiar, but I still have no idea why that would be. I can’t possibly know the man.”
“What did he sound like?” He held his breath, hoping his instincts would prove wrong.
“Well-educated, from somewhere in the south. Possibly Sussex. He was irate and… though I couldn’t see his face, I’d wager he was sneering. The tone he took with Colum was full of disgust and condescension. He may as well have spat in his face.”
Jamie sighed and nodded grimly.
“Randall.”
To his surprise, Claire went rigid against him and leaned back to look him in the eye.
“Did you say Randall?”
“Aye. Jack Randall. He’s a captain of dragoons. Has charge of Fort William last I heard,” he explained. She relaxed slightly, but her troubled expression remained. “Ye ken him after all?”
“No,” she replied hesitantly. “Not at all. I think I may be acquainted with a distant relative of his. That’s probably why his accent was so familiar. Frank sounds remarkably similar, though with significantly less vitriol.”
“Who’s Frank?”

Conversation
Dougal: You do realize there’s a rumor going around that you’re in love with Mrs. Beauchamp?
Jamie: A rumor? Are you telling me people are doubting it?

So, rereading the Outlander series too, and it's like the first time all over again, I remember only a few things. I loves that. Jamie's missing and Claire and Murtaugh haves to find him. It's making me wants to Destiel up Outlander even more.
And I still loathe Dougal.

I Fought the Law Chapter 40 Dougal?
AO3
Jamie jerks up and gets a look at him. He looks like Dougal but his next words tell him that this isn’t his uncle. “James Alexander Malcolm Makenzie Fraser! I never thought to see you fighting on our side? I thought you a firm loyalist, glad to see I was wrong. What are ye doing lurking aren’t out here? Come, I will introduce you to our Bonnie Prince.” He slaps his shoulder and leads him into the camp.
It could be worse, Jamie reasons. At least now he has an in to the camp and it wasn’t his Dougal that found him. He knew the Dougals looked alike but this this was ridiculous! They are like twins. He must look the same as his own ancestor too. Strange. Come Jamie, you can puzzle all this out later, head in the game.
He leads him to the tent he already figured out was Charles’. Dougal the first, nods to the guards before leading him in.
“My Prince, I’ve the most wonderful surprise. My nephew has decided to join the fight.”
The Bonnie Prince Charlie, so big in the imagination of the Scots, in reality was a short man. He walks up, his eyes alight with glee. “Mark me Dougal Mackenzie if I didn’t expect this. Didn’t I tell you he would join. No true Scot, mark me on this, can stay away from the fight to free his country.” He turns to Jamie, “ Welcome Jamie. If you are the fighter your uncle is, mark me, if I had all my army like Dougal we would have already defeated the bloody English, are you the fighter he is?”
Jamie starts, realizing it is his turn to talk. “Your Highness, I shall certainly try.” He bows low to him.
“Mark me, that is all anyone can do. Dougal find him a tent, a good one.”
“Aye, your Majesty.” He also bows and they leave, “It is so good to see you here Jamie.” They are walking through the camp. “But what changed your mind? You swore you would never fight.”
Jamie thinks quick. “I wanted to help my favorite uncle out.”
Dougal laughs. “Eh laddie, dinna let Column hear you say that. Here Jamie, a tent right by mine. I am so glad you are here. Sleep well for we end the bloody English in the morrow.”
Jamie enters and sits. His mind in a whirl. The battle of Culloden Moor is tomorrow. He must find his Dougal tonight.
