Background ig, Keith takes the place of Adam while James takes the place of Lute.

Don't expect historical accuracy, this is fictional and I don't wanna have to write do a bunch of research and write about the weird stuff they probably did back then.

James is a trans guy from the 1800s(I think you can see where this is going) so due to this, he's very deep in the closet. He was always told that being trans or anything like that is wrong, a sin. So he pushed it into a chest and buried it six feet deep and ended up marrying some guy while still young due to his parents wanting it to happen. So after a few years of marriage, James is now 19 and his husband is 30, they have two children.

And it's all going well, James is being treated well by his husband(he's just ignored) and the children are healthy. But it all goes downhill when James swears that God is talking to him. It's not something that starts off strong, it starts off small like hearing someone call out his name. Then it slowly builds into hearing full conversations being had around him that are about him. And it's all the same thing, "He should kill his husband and children, get rid of them". It slowly started to drive James mad, making him seem both paranoid and hysterical. But he tried to fix it by going to the Chruch and confessing his madness to the priest. The priest didn't believe it was God but instead the Devil trying to convince James to sin. So obviously the priest told James to pray for strength, to not let the Devil win.

But James wasn't strong enough(at least that's how he saw it for the longest time), he couldn't get the Devil to leave him alone. So James ended up giving in, he ended up fulfilling the wishes of the Devil. He waited until it was late, his husband and children asleep before making his move. He took a pillow and held over the face of the newborn, used a hammer for the toddler, and used a knife for his husband. Then he set his own home on fire and stayed inside when he realized what he did.

To say James was surprised to end up in Heaven would be an understatement, he committed the worst kind of sin and not only that, he gave into the wishes of the Devil. But the angel before him only told him it wasn't true, telling him that while he did sin, it wasn't his fault. James didn't believe the angel but didn't argue, this is where he ends up meeting Keith.

Keith didn't really seem to care what James did to his husband and children. The man also didn't even seem to care about James that much in general. But that ended up changing with James joined the Exorcists and ended up being one of the best ones there. So James ended up as Keith's second in command after awhile. And during this time, James learned that his existence wasn't a sin so yk he ends up coming out.

I'll probably expand upon this if I ever turn it into a fic.

7 Days of Writing: #6 - Run

James always loved to watch Keith run.

The black wolf was liquid like shadow, compacting into a powerful ball of muscle and potential, digging enormous paws into the ground for purchase and extending all the way out again, all four feet clearing the ground in an instant; his head was down and he was laser-focused on his target. Keith moved so fast in that moment James felt like he was seeing an afterimage, the actual thing there and gone in a flash.

Keith ran every chance he could get, up and down the long familiar stretch of beach, his slightly smaller framed shadow to Shiro’s enormously powerful white wolf. He ran through the woods, threaded the trees, circled their camps and the truck and nearly made James dizzy with his exuberance and seemingly endless font of energy. He loved the most to run in the plains when they went east and spent their nights in fields under an endless expanse of stars.

Run with me, Keith said, both hands on James’s wrists, eyes bright and skin bronzed by flame.

He couldn’t deny Keith anything, not even this, futile exercise that it was because before too long Keith would tire of lagging and would be on four legs, bounding back and forth and unstoppable. All the same James humored him every time, jogged with him until Keith couldn’t bear it anymore and bolted across the clearing, across the sand, across the field, his ears and tail high.

He loved to run.

He loved James, too.

James exhaled, hand pressed to the side of his neck, cheek in the dirt. He watched Keith run like this, powerhouse that he was; gone in a twinkling, fury and sound.

“I’ll protect you,” Keith said, calm and confident, sitting up in their motel bed, the covers kicked to the floor and his skin brushed blue by the cold light of the television.

“You can’t, against everything,” James said, lazy, sprawled on his side and stretched out. He brushed his knuckles along the outside of Keith’s thigh and Keith stirred, leaned over him, kissed him with a sharp-toothed shark’s grin.

“You don’t know me very well then,” Keith said, a tease in his voice as James pulled him down again, because once in a night didn’t satisfy either of them, anymore.

I do know you, James thought, fingers slick with the blood squeezing between his fingers, the darkness starting to claw at the edge of his vision. He exhaled again and coughed wetly, closed his eyes and dreamed of running with his wolf.

James shifted slightly when he felt an arm wrap around him and an extra weight press against his back. “What're you doing?” James’ voice was slightly muffled, his face half buried into his pillow. A hum answered his words as Keith moved against him. “Getting comfortable.” James only hummed at the words, exhaustion weighing his brain down. James melted into the mixed warmth of his bed and Keith. Exhaustion guiding him into a blissful sleep.

Only to be disturbed when James felt Keith move slightly once more. “Stop moving.” Keith only let out a quiet apology that James barely comprehended. Keith finally settled behind him, allowing James to slowly fall back asleep. James let out a small hum when he felt a set of lips press against the spot between his ear and hairline. “Sleep well.”

When James woke up, he was on his stomach with Keith crushing him slightly. James shifted slightly, stretching his arms out a bit. “Good morning.” James hummed as Keith moved against him. James turned his head so his face wasn't buried in his pillow. He could see a part of Keith's hair out of the corner of his eye. “Bien journée.” James’ words came out barely audible. Keith only hummed, his lips brushing against James’ shoulder.

James moved onto his back when Keith got off of him slightly. Once James was settled, Keith immediately moved to lay with his head on James’ chest. James brought a hand to Keith's longish hair, fingers brushing it out slightly. James hummed when he felt Keith's thumb trace over a hidden scar on his chest. Scars that James was proud of, something James didn't know was possible. “Today is our day off.” James yawned at the words. He didn't believe the words but stayed silent.

While James wanted to stay on schedule, he didn't mind being given a free day off. He closed his eyes as Keith moved against him. James smiled a bit when he felt lips press against the side of his neck. “Going back to bed already?” James hummed at the question, his hand messing with Keith's hair. Keith only smiled against James’ neck. “We could spend the day together instead of you spending the day sleeping?” James hummed again, moving to press his lips against the top of Keith's head. Keith hummed at the action, his teeth grazing the side of James’ neck.

“Maybe later, I'm tired.” Keith hummed again, moving so his forehead was pressed against James’ cheek. James only leaned into the touch, pressing his cheek against it. Keith tangled their legs together, pulling James close as his wing acted as another blanket. “Ok, sleep well.” James only shifted slightly as exhaustion took over. Barely hearing the next thing Keith said.

“I love you.”

Summary: Keith sits next to James on the first day of class. College AU.

“Shit, shit, shit, fuck.” The whispered profanities drew James’ attention from the syllabus pulled up on his laptop. And of course, this guy is sitting next to me. He ignored the frantic shuffling from his late companion, focusing back in on the professor introducing herself. When she passed out the note cards for the students to do their own introductions, a small tap came on James’s shoulder. The other boy had a sheepish, apologetic grin. “I don’t suppose I could borrow a pencil?” He was handsome with shaggy, inky hair just brushing his shoulders. His eyes were wide and endearing. James could be persuaded to forgive him for the disturbance. “A pen alright?” James said, offering the object in question. Keith took it with a more genuine smile. “You not make mistakes or something?” “I try.” A curt cough came from behind the two. The professor had started speaking again and James hadn’t even noticed.
